Representing the team at midfield were the captains: quarterback Peyton Manning, defensive end Elvis Dumervil, cornerback Champ Bailey, linebacker Wesley Woodyard, guard Chris Kuper and the game captain, safety Mike Adams.
Denver won the toss and deferred its choice to the second half, so the Broncos started the game on defense.
The Broncos came out with four down lineman – defensive end Derek Wolfe, tackles Kevin Vickerson and Justin Bannan and Dumervil at the other end.
The starting linebackers were Von Miller, Keith Brooking and Woodyard.
In the secondary, Rahim Moore and Adams were the safeties with Bailey and Chris Harris at the corners.
Following the Buccaneers’ punt, the Denver offense came out on the field.
On the offensive line, Dan Koppen started at center, Kuper and Zane Beadles were the guards and Orlando Franklin and Ryan Clady were the tackles.
The Broncos came out with two tight ends, with Jacob Tamme in the slot and Joel Dreessen on the line of scrimmage. Eric Decker and Demaryius Thomas were out wide.
Manning was in shotgun with Knowshon Moreno next to him at running back.
