Holliday Healing, Practicing Ball Security

January 9th, 2013 - 9:47am by Sam DavisOther posts by

Wide receiver Trindon Holliday used the playoff bye week to heal an injured ankle, and is using this week of practice to make sure ball security isn’t an issue on Saturday.

The return specialist missed the team’s regular-season finale and did not take part in any parts of practices that were available to the media last week. He participated in the early portion of practice on Tuesday.

Head Coach John Fox will provide the team’s first official injury report of the playoffs following Wednesday’s practice.

Holliday Gives Boost to Broncos

December 4th, 2012 - 9:47am by Sam DavisOther posts by

Since the Broncos signed wide receiver Trindon Holliday on Oct. 11, the 5-foot-5 return man has given the team exactly he was brought in for.

His contributions go well beyond his touchdown returns in back-to-back weeks against Cincinnati and Carolina. Dating back to Week 6, when he became a Bronco, Holliday leads the NFL with a 37.4 kick return average and ranks second in the NFL with a 13.0 punt return average.

At Kansas City in Week 12, he returned two kicks for 50 and 42 yards, allowing Denver to start drives from near midfield.

Holliday Earns Weekly Honor

November 7th, 2012 - 8:25am by Stuart ZaasOther posts by

When wide receiver Trindon Holliday fielded the kickoff to start the second half at Cincinnati on Sunday, he expected running back Lance Ball to tell him to take a knee.

Instead, Ball let him take a shot, and 105-yard later, Holliday was into the end zone and the Broncos’ record book with the longest play in team history.

On Wednesday, the NFL named Holliday its AFC Special Teams Player of the Week, marking the first time the second-year player has earned that honor.

Holliday becomes the 23rd all-time AFC Special Teams Player of the Week in Broncos history, and the second this season after Matt Prater took home the honor for Week 4.
