The Broncos will take their talents to South Beach this weekend in search of their 400th regular-season victory.

All-time, Denver is 0-7 on the road against the Dolphins, but as Broncos Executive Vice President of Football Operations John Elway was quick to point out on this week’s episode of Elway Live, the team did win Super Bowl XXXIII in Miami with Elway earning MVP honors in his final NFL game.

Sunday will mark the 16th regular-season meeting between the two clubs. The Broncos own an overall record of 3-11-1 in those contests, and have lost the past two games to Miami. The teams have met once in postseason action, with the Broncos dominating the Dolphins 38-3 at Mile High Stadium during AFC Divisional Playoff action en route to their Super Bowl XXXII title.

Denver and San Diego will meet for the 103rd time on Sunday, marking the most common regular-season matchup for the Broncos. All-time, Denver is 54-47-1 (.534), including a 35-14-1 (.710) record at home against San Diego.

When the teams played one another for the first time, the Chargers franchise was still located in Los Angeles. The Chargers won that game 23-19 on Oct. 16, 1960 in Denver. Denver hopes to end a three-game losing streak to San Diego, having last won 34-23 on Oct., 19, 2009 in San Diego.

Notable performances against the Chargers:

  • CB Champ Bailey: In 14 games vs. San Diego, Bailey has totaled 73 tackles to go with four interceptions (one touchdown), one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and 14 pass breakups.

    Broncos vs. Packers Series History

This Sunday, the Broncos will travel to Green Bay for just the sixth time in franchise history. It will be the club’s fourth appearance at Lambeau Field – the team played two road games against Green Bay at Milwaukee County Stadium (1971, ’87) before their first trip to Lambeau in 1993. Only four teams (Cleveland, New England, Houston and Jacksonville) have played fewer games at Lambeau Field.

The two teams have met 11 times in the regular season, with each club winning five times and tying once. Broncos fans will have no problem remembering the lone postseason matchup between Denver and Green Bay, in which the Broncos earned a 31-24 victory in Super Bowl XXXII.
