Quarterback Tim Tebow was out nice and early to get some throws in and he is now chatting with Seahawks Head Coach Pete Carroll.

It looks like the Broncos will be wearing their home blue uniforms tonight with white pants.

New father Kyle Orton is out on the field taking some throws along with Adam Weber.

Brady Quinn is playing some catch with tight end Dan Gronkowski.

HALFTIME FESTIVITIES As part of the Broncos’ U.S. Military salute, the U.S. Marine Corps’ Silent Drill Platoon performed for fans at INVESCO Field at Mile High. Both teams are still currently in the locker room as the second half kickoff awaits.

Q3 15:00: The Broncos will receive to start the second half. Perrish Cox takes Olindo Mare’s kick about 6 yards deep in the end zone. He makes it out to the 5-yard line before being dragged down. The Broncos offense takes over there with Moreno taking a first down handoff. He picked up 2 yards. On second down, Spencer Larsen hauled in his first catch of the game. The fullback got four more yards, setting up a 3rd-and-3 from their own 12-yard line. Klye Orton hit Brandon Lloyd for a 13-yard gain and a first down to the 25-yard line. On the ensuing first down, Orton went deep for Jabar Gaffney but couldn’t connect. On second down, Orton went down for a 3-yard loss on a sack.

PREGAME FESTIVITIES: The Broncos defense is being introduced seconds after a mass of orange balloons was let loose into the Mile High air. The 2010 regular season at INVESCO Field at Mile High begins in just a few minutes.

COIN TOSS: After honoring local military personnel and a moment of silence for fallen veterans, the Broncos captains — Champ Bailey, Daniel Graham and Brian Dawkins — stepped to midfield along with honorary captain John Elway. The Seahawks called “tails” and were correct. They will receive the opening kickoff and defend the north end zone.

Q1 15:00: Matt Prater kicked deep to Seattle’s Leon Washington, who downs the kick in the end zone for a touchback. The Broncos will start the season on defense.

Q1 14:59 : The Broncos defense has taken the field with Jamal Williams, Justin Bannan and Ryan McBean lined up along the defensive line. The linebackers are Robert Ayers, Mario Haggan, D.J. Williams and Jason Hunter with Champ Bailey, Renaldo Hill, Brian Dawkins and Andre’ Goodman in the secondary. The first play from scrimmage was a Matt Hasselback incompletion. On second down, Justin Forsett took a handoff for three yards. Before the third down play, the Seahawks took a timeout. The ensuing pass was complete to Deon Butler for 12 yards and a first down.

The 2010 regular season home opener at INVESCO Field at Mile High has arrived. Fans are just starting to make their way into the stadium as the Broncos (0-1) get set to take on Seattle (1-0).

In the last hour or so, team personnel have gone through final preparations for the pregame festivities and now players have taken the field to begin their warmups.

It’s a sunny and warm day in Denver as the Broncos look to win their 11th straight home opener.

Stay tuned to this blog throughout the next few hours and during the game for updates.

11:59 a.m. MDT: The ThunderVision videoboard is showing action from around the league via NFL RedZone, which has a freeview for Comcast subscribers this weekend. A Mile High Home

September 15th, 2010 - 3:06pm by jim_saccomanoOther posts by

Opening day comes at home but once a year. It is always exciting, and always big.

By attendance and by record, it has been bigger in Denver than anywhere else in the league since Pat Bowlen bought the club.

Very few teams in National Football League history have had a history in openers as supreme as have the Denver Broncos under the ownership of Pat Bowlen.

Since Mr. Bowlen took over the reigns of the Broncos in 1984, the Mile High City’s entry in the NFL has had a mark like no other team, literally.

Cutler Week, da Bears!!

August 24th, 2009 - 4:44pm by mark_cooperOther posts by

Da Bears week and homecoming for our old QB. The game against the Seahawks was actually a good learning experience for what I’ll call a young team getting to really know each other and play together.

I know it wasn’t pretty..BUT…that’s really what pre-season is for. Fumbles kill and turnovers in general can ruin your season. Much of what we need to see on our side is turnovers and they come with a lot of preaching and practicing.

I don’t get to worked up over pre-season and if you’ve been following this blog for the last year or so you could go back and see that. Pre-season is a time to experiment with players, positions a bit and showcase a guy or two you might want to trade (did I just say that) yep that happens too. Seen it first hand.

It’s a business.

Oh, by the way too funny, Ks-BroncoGirl was talking about not wanting to buy a jersey because they get cut-traded-hurt or who knows what. I got a great idea. We start selling generic Broncos jerseys with velcro on the back and sell names separately? I’m a genius :o )…….right? Ha! Ha! Love it.

O.K. Cutlers in town so here we go. Boo him back to Chicago. :o ) That’s what wee suppose to do. Nice article today on Cutler and what did you really expect. They added Orlando Pace so that will help him. be interesting what else gets said, like Mike Klis mentioned going after him a bit. I was in Baltimore when John went back to play……….. UGLY CROWD.

I’m actually encouraged by last weeks game other than the left handed interception. I have to share some perspective here. When you play at that level you think your Superman to start out with. BUT even Superman threw right handed. I’d started laughing when I saw Orton throw left handed. I immediately said there’s the Superman coming out. And that’s not a crack. He probably did that somewhere in his career and was successful…BUT at this level there’s 22 Supermen on the field believe it or not and you just have to laugh because when he rewatches that on film everyone in the film room will be laughing…promise.

That’s O.K. though, I actually appreciate the fact that he thought he could do it…it showed me something I liked. Call me weird but I gained a little respect and had a good laugh over it at the same time. By the way DON’T do it again, once was enough. Maybe a shovel pass left handed or underarm but you throw like a girl left handed :o )

Steps Forward

August 23rd, 2009 - 12:42pm by mike_riceOther posts by

Much like the preseason opener against San Francisco, the Broncos took some steps forward and also showed they have plenty to work on in preseason game number two.

For the second straight week, I liked the way the first-team offense moved the ball. That unit drove 78 yards in 12 plays and took nearly six minutes off the clock on its first possession and scored a touchdown after the Seahawks had taken an early lead.

Quarterback Kyle Orton completed passes to four different receivers on that drive and the Broncos gave a glimpse of how potent this passing game can be. Orton looked to be in total control on the drive and did again in leading the Broncos to a field goal on their second possession. An uncharacteristic penalty on tackle Ryan Clady put a serious damper on that series.

We know that Ken Lucas intercepted Orton’s awkward, left-handed pass in the Seattle end zone on the Broncos fourth possession. Let me again state the obvious: Orton cannot make that mistake. He knows that; we all know that.

15:00: Broncos will receive the kick to start the second half. Kenny McKinley bobbles and takes it to the 21.

14:52: Offense takes the field with pretty much the same starting lineup. Kyle Orton hands off to LaMont Jordan to start the drive for a short gain of one-yard. Slip screen to Tony Scheffler on second down, but Scheffler fumbles. Recovered by Seattle to the Denver eight.

14:05: A false start on first down, pushes the Seahawks back. On first down, Mario Haggan looked to have stopped Justin Forsett, but Forsett slipped through for five yards. Seneca Wallace, is in at QB and throws incomplete on second down and then short to Forsett on third down. Fourth down, and Olindo Mare is out for the field goal. Kick is good, and the Seahawks add to their lead, 17-10. — Excuse me, Brandon Coutu kicked the field goal … too many players to keep track of in the preseason.

12:37: Alphonso Smith takes the kickoff to the 25, but their are flags on the field. Jeb Putzier is signaled for holding. Broncos will start at the 15.

15:00: Daniel Graham has called tails for the Broncos, but it lands on heads. The Seahawks will receive. Matt Prater has the unit lined up and kicks the ball to the Deon Butler who is wrapped up by Josh Barrett at the 25.

14:54: Offsides penalty on the kickoff has the ball at the 30. The Broncos defense is on the field, the starters are Ronald Fields, Kenny Peterson and Ryan McBean up front, the linebackers are Elvis Dumervil, Andra Davis, D.J. Williams and Mario Haggan with Champ Bailey, Andre’ Goodman, Darcel McBath and Renaldo Hill in the secondary.

Matt Hasselbeck starts the game throwing, but it is behind his intended receiver.

14:10: First down Seahawks as Hasselbeck connects with his tight end John Carlson.

13:10: After a short run by T.J. Duckett and a short completion, the Seahwaks have third-and-short. Hasselbeck hits Houshmanzadeh on the crossing route for 13-yards and a first down.
