After Monday’s trade, the Broncos had an open roster spot.

The club filled it Tuesday by signing safety Rafael Bush to the active roster.

“He is a guy that our scouts had high grades on,” Head Coach John Fox said. “Our pro personnel department liked him, and we’re just bringing him in to see how he does in our system.”

Bush originally signed with the Atlanta Falcons as a college free agent in 2010, and spent the majority of last season and so far this year on Atlanta’s practice squad.

In college at South Carolina State, Bush was voted the team’s most valuable player as a senior, when he finished the season with 54 tackles and three touchdowns. In his career, he made 222 tackles and was named to the S.C. State All-Decade team.

The team also made a practice squad transaction, signing defensive tackle Sealver Siliga to the squad, waiving fullback Austin Sylvester to make room for the move.
