I’m Back

October 17th, 2008 - 7:05am by Ryan TorainOther posts by Ryan Torain

I’m BACK.

And it feels great. It’s been a looooong time. When you add the couple of months I’ve been out here to the fact that I couldn’t play the end of my senior season, it’s about to be a full year since I’ve been on the field for a game. So being back at practice is great. That’s the only word to describe it. Great. I’m excited, just conversing with the guys, being out there, joking around — just having a great time.

I finally got to do it myself. That’s the difference. When you’re watching practice, you envision it and you wish you could do it. When you’re out there, you get to fulfill what you’ve been doing your whole life. And I didn’t get too winded when I was out there the past two days either, and I credit that to the trainers and how hard Coach Tuten’s been helping me condition since the injury.

Another Big Step Toward the Field

October 9th, 2008 - 1:18pm by Ryan TorainOther posts by Ryan Torain

Another big step this week, everybody. First it was being able to get back to working on my conditioning. Then it was being able to lift weights with my left arm again. Now, it’s something even bigger.

I was at practice yesterday. My first NFL practice, and being a rookie, it felt good, even if I was just watching it go down and not participating yet. I missed practice. It’s been a while since I’ve been in that atmosphere. Watching guys make plays, guys working hard and just playing the game. I just missed that competitiveness. I’m definitely excited to get back, and it’s been great to be back out at practice. Now I’m just kind of taking steps to get back in the flow of things, and hopefully next week I’ll be able to put the cleats on and run around.

Coach Shanahan said there’s a chance I’ll be back out on the practice field making plays on my own starting next week, so I’ve just got to stay working hard with rehab and keep conditioning to make sure it happens. Whenever I get called on, I’ll be ready to go. I can’t wait to get back.

Practice Quick Hits: 8/26

After a walk-through this morning before their afternoon practice, Champ Bailey and Patrick Ramsey talked with the media.

Both men suffered minor setbacks during the preseason — Bailey sat out some of training camp with a hamstring that was bothering him, and Ramsey hurt his arm on his last play in the Green Bay game last Friday.

Both men also said they’re feeling better, however. “I’m good,” Bailey said. “It hasn’t bothered me so I’m pretty good right now.”

“I just didn’t know when I first got hit — I had no idea what it was that was hurting because everything just went numb,” Ramsey said.

The quarterback said his arm limited him in practice yesterday, but he was hoping to go out and feel better this afternoon. He still expects to play in the final preseason game at Arizona Friday.

“That’s kind of one thing I said to my coaches, if I can I’d like to go ahead and go, just to stay sharp because it’s that much closer to if I play in the regular season.”

Practice Quick Hits: 8/20

August 20th, 2008 - 2:41pm by Adam ZinserOther posts by Adam Zinser

It may be Wednesday on the calendar, but in the Broncos’ world, it’s actually Friday, with tomorrow being Saturday and Friday being Sunday.

Confused yet?

Since this is the first week that the team has switched over to their regular season weekly schedule, Friday’s preseason contest against the Green Bay Packers has turned things somewhat upside down. It all makes at least a little sense when you take into account that the Broncos are treating this week like it may as well be in the middle of the season, thus Friday is being treated like a gameday Sunday.

Practice Quick Hits: 8/19

The list of players back in action continues to grow as the Broncos near their second home game of the preseason. Darrell Jackson — who sat out the game against Dallas — and Josh Barrett rejoined practice a day after Champ Bailey, Louis Green and Tom Nalen all donned jerseys and pads again.

Hamza Abdullah, Boss Bailey and Daniel Graham remained out of pads.

The offense and defense each worked on individual drills before combining for 11-on-11 drills aimed at preparing for the Packers.

During WR vs. DB one-on-ones, several matchups stood out. First, with Jack Williams lining up against Samie Parker, Parker ran deep and Williams stayed with him the whole way, located the ball and swatted it away.

Next, Champ stood opposite Keary Colbert and knocked the ball out of his hands, prompting a, “Good battle!” from Defensive Backs Coach Ronnie Bradford.

Getting Ready for the Season!

Good morning, Broncos fans!

We sure have some new and exciting adventures coming up. Today we actually begin shooting our 2007 Denver Broncos cheerleader poster. For those of you who have been in the Broncos fan arena for a while you know that in past years the cheerleaders have always shot the poster at a different location around beautiful Colorado–such as the mountains or the stadium (old and new). However, for the past four or five years, as our team has grown to 34 members, we have begun taking the photos at a photography studio in the area and have also incorporated a separate backdrop.  Our posters are done in segments, in essence, by taking about five girls at a time.  After all of the groups of five or six have been shot they put all of us together to create the final product!
