Good morning from the second day of the 2012 NFL Scouting Combine. Today quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers are slated meet the press at Lucas Oil Stadium. We invite you to follow the action throughout the day on this blog, which will be updated as players talk to the media.

Broncos Executive Vice President of Football Operations John Elway will kick off the press sessions around 10:30 a.m. EST. Check back for the full video, along with a top story from what he says. We’ll post some quick hits from the session in this blog as soon as it is completed.

As always, we welcome any questions or comments you have throughout the day. You can leave them in the comment section — or reach out to us via Gray’s Twitter account or the official Broncos account — and we will do our best to address them.

Good morning from Lucas Oil Stadium. The first day of the 2012 NFL Scouting Combine is set to get underway, and DenverBroncos.com is in town to cover the league’s annual job fair.

Throughout the event, we will post daily blogs from the media room here at the stadium. In addition, we will post audio and video of some of the top players’ interviews, provide photos and finish off each day with a top story recapping the biggest events.

Today, offensive linemen, kickers, punters, long snappers and tight ends will address the media. In addition, Head Coach John Fox will step to the podium at approximately 10:30 a.m. here in Indy, which of course means 8:30 a.m. Denver time.

Feel free to post any questions you have in the comments — or via my Twitter account or the official Broncos account — and we will do our best to answer them. Keep checking back throughout the day for updates.

While we wait for the first group of interviewees, you can take a closer look at how the personnel staff approached the 2011 NFL Scouting Combine. The story was featured in last summer’s Broncos Magazine, and it seems especially relevant again this time of year. We’ll look to provide similar insight from this year’s event.

It’s been a long week of interviews here at the combine, and we finish them out today. Defensive backs will meet the media, along with notable holdovers like defensive tackle Nick Fairley.

We’ll keep you up-to-date as the players roll into the media room. As I type this, wide receivers are running the 40-yard dash.

9:43 a.m. EST: Boston College linebacker Mark Herzlich just mentioned going against Eddie Royal in college as one of the reasons he knows he’s ready to make the jump to the pros.

2011 NFL Scouting Combine: Day 3

February 26th, 2011 - 7:29am by Gray CaldwellOther posts by

It’s day three here at Lucas Oil Stadium, and it’s set up to be the biggest so far.

The defensive linemen and linebackers are set to step up to the podiums this morning and afternoon, along with some big-name holdovers who didn’t talk yesterday — namely Auburn quarterback Cam Newton.

Kyle Sonneman will be handling the majority of the blogging duties today, as I’ll be soaking in the sights and sounds in the rest of the venue. Offensive linemen are running the 40-yard dash as I type this, and more players will hit the bench press this morning.

The first player of the day is already talking at a table — Cincinnati wide receiver Armon Binns.

NFL Scouting Combine: Day 3

February 27th, 2010 - 8:06am by Kyle SonnemanOther posts by

After the sun made an appearance on Friday, the snow, cold and clouds have returned to Indianapolis for combine day three. Today should be a busy day as Head Coach Josh McDaniels addresses the combine media at 1:30 p.m. EST and the defensive line and linebackers make their way through the media room.

Also we are hoping to get an appearance from the quarterbacks and running backs who didn’t make it in to the room yesterday. That list includes; Sam Bradford, Jimmy Clausen, Colt McCoy, C.J. Spiller and Jonathan Dwyer.

Workouts have begun on the field behind us with the offensive linemen running the 40 and going through their drills. To stay up on all of the workouts and to watch live feeds, visit the NFL’s combine site by clicking here.

As we have the last couple of days, we will do our best to give you the sights and sounds of the annual job fair and with workouts starting; we will fill you in on the latest buzz.

11:14 a.m. EST: Most of the morning buzz has surrounded Maryland offensive tackle Bruce Johnson. The 6-foot-6 314-pound lineman put up 34 repetitions of 225-pounds in the bench press and has put up some of the top times in the 40-yard dash and distances in the broad jump among his position group. Some talent evaluators ofter remark that a player passes the “eye-test” based on their shear physique. Well I am not a talent evaluator by any means, but this guy passes that test with flying colors.

Also a lot of talk has surrounded LSU return specialist Trindon Holliday and his time in the 40. Unofficially, some scouts clocked him at a blazing 4.22 seconds, which if it becomes official, would be among the fastest times in combine history.

Good morning from day two of the NFL Scouting Combine. As you may have read, the coin toss between the Bears and the Jaguars for the picks 10 and 11 in the draft occurred this morning with the Jaguars winning the toss. That means that the Broncos, who hold the Bears pick, will have the 11th selection in the first round.

Today we are expecting to see the quarterbacks, running back and wide receivers make their way through the media room. Lots of big names amongst this group so the media room should be hopping with activity.

Like yesterday, we will be proving updates through out the day and will do our best to give you a glimpse into the NFL’s annual job fair. Please feel free to fire some combine questions and we will do our best to get them answered. Later tonight, Broncos TV will post some highlights from the podium sessions. To hear what some of the offensive lineman and tight ends had to say, click here.
