More Magic against the “Saints”

September 22nd, 2008 - 9:57am by mark_cooperOther posts by mark_cooper

The Magic is back!!!

Bend-don’t-break defense comes up big with a goal line stance and a “DJ” stop on 3rd and short to make for a missed field goal….wide right!!

Whew, I may need some stress medication or something this season. How much fun are these games to watch?? So we asked for it and we got it this off-season with firepower and receivers catching the ball all over the field. Like they say “Be careful what you ask for” we got it!!

So, how many of you got up to get something in the kitchen and missed a score or a big play?

I replied late last week on your “Bolts” responses and that was fun so in case you missed anything check back on the Bolts comments because you all were pretty funny last week and fun to reply to.

369 total yards this week to 502 for the “Aints”…that number worries me as weeks to come we’ll see some defenses that could hold us down and the nature of the game is that there will be weeks where things just don’t click.

K.C. 0-3 with 12 consecutive losses…hmm took one on the chin from Atlanta this weekend. These opponents scare coaches to death because they are afraid of a let down or players looking past these types of opponents and in the NFL that can cost you a game.

“Beauty and the Beast” still stands and I’m glad Schefflers back in the mix….we might need a nic name for him???

Mile High Magic…Gets the Bolts

September 15th, 2008 - 7:52am by mark_cooperOther posts by mark_cooper

We saw “Mile High Magic” yesterday, like we all remember.

Fumble? What fumble? Interception … sure it was!! :o) Ha!! Love it!

Home field advantage!!

52 yard field goal, 18 catches by Brandon (2nd most in the NFL), Royal catches a 4th and 4 TD to tie the game and a 2-Point conversion with seconds left in a “do or die” situation to win the game. Clutch baby, clutch!!

I know you’re smiling — I am!!!!!

And you missed my question last week of naming the dynamic duo. HINT … you have to go back and read my question on Sept 12th. My answer is Beauty and the Beast!! Now you have to go figure it out and I want to know the names you all come up with. This should be interesting.

486 yards of offense! Wow, but the Bolts threw up 456 yards of total offense against us, so we really have some work to do or it could be a tennis match every week. The kick-off return hurt too, hmmmm. Take away the 3rd quarter and the defense played tough, so we’re getting there. It’s early, like everyone will say, and I’m hopeful as this is turning into a really exciting group to watch.

P.S. Hey Coach, Love that call for “2″ … gutsy!!! With confidence — love it!!!!

COOP :o) enjoy the week!!

I look forward to hearing your names…

Take Up Your Arms!

So Monday we picked up our deflated egos and hauled them to Rifle.  Here, the Broncos faithful restored them with hearty handshakes, gleaming smiles and enthusiasm for the team that lost 41-3 the day before.

I really was not very excited to make the trip after what happened on Sunday.  I figured the few people that did show up would just want to talk about how horribly the team played.  You know what?  About 600 people showed up and I’m not lying when I tell you that not one, NOT ONE person mentioned the game.  They were just happy to get to see everyone and cheered us on for the next game.

Man, I wish we could play the next game in Rifle, because I’m a little dissappointed how quickly people throw in the towel.  I understand being frustrated, believe me I know, but when I looked up to an empty crowd before the beginning of the fourth quarter last week … I was speechless (pun intended).  How do such rabid fans that describe themselves as die-hards just pack up and leave?
