Broncos Adjust Practice Squad

October 2nd, 2012 - 3:01pm by Gray CaldwellOther posts by

On Tuesday, the Broncos made a handful of changes to the practice squad.

Offensive lineman Adam Grant was dropped from the squad. Added were linebacker Mike Mohamed — who was waived from the active roster on Monday — offensive lineman Darrion Weems and wide receiver Bert Reed.

Mohamed split time between Denver’s practice squad and active roster last season as a rookie. He appeared in the team’s first two games, then spent the next nine weeks on the practice squad. He was brought back to the active roster in Week 13 and was inactive for the team’s final seven games, including its two postseason contests.

Originally drafted by the Broncos in the sixth round (189th overall) out of of Cal, Mohamed earned first-team All-Pacific 10 Conference honors in a junior after leading the league with 112 tackles to go with two sacks, three interceptions, six passes defensed and one forced fumble. Mohamed finished his collegiate career ranked fourth on the school’s all-time list with 340 tackles while playing in 50-of-51 possible games.

To make room for Mohamed on the practice squad, Denver waived tight end Cornelius Ingram from the practice squad.

Ingram signed with Denver on Dec. 27, 2011 and finished last season on the practice squad. He caught two passes for 45 yards and one touchdown in the preseason this year.
