Broncos linebacker Wesley Woodyard joined Denver Mayor Michael Hancock on the steps of the Denver Capitol Building on Monday morning to kick off April, which is Child Abuse Prevention Month.
The initiative is the latest collaboration between the two in an effort to promote child welfare in the state of Colorado.
The linebacker and mayor teamed up last week to unveil the My Denver Card initiative, which allows all Denver Public School students who apply to the program admission into Denver’s 26 recreation centers and 29 pools free of charge.
On Monday morning, Woodyard and Hancock spoke on behalf of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) in support of Be the One Colorado.
