The Kansas City Chiefs are on the board after quarterback Matt Cassel threw a 1-yard touchdown pass to fullback Le’Ron McClain. Cassel faked the handoff to running back Jackie Battle, who preoccupied a lot of the defense with his dive over the pile, before the quarterback threw a lob pass just as he got hit by Nate Irving, to McClain for the score.

The Chiefs had several big plays on the drive, which started with a 34-yard run by Battle. Kansas City also converted a third-and-8 when Cassel hit running back Dexter McCluster for a 14-yard pass to put the Chiefs at Denver’s 5-yard line. Cassel threw it in two plays later.
