Ram Tough or Bronx Mistakes

November 28th, 2010 - 8:49pm by mark_cooperOther posts by

It was another tough game to watch. We get out of the gates like a team on a mission and the get shut down for the second and third quarters.

I had to keep watching and it almost happened. Almost!! Dog gone it and few other words… Man, that hurts. There were too many turnovers and at the very end a early snap late didn’t help the affair and the sack. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

London Blues

It’s been a tough week in the neighborhood. My Broncos, Bill down the street’s Cowboys and Jamo’s Steelers all went down this weekend. I was messing with Monster Truck Jamo during and after the Steelers game via text messaging, and all he could do is sulk. NOW that’s funny stuff.

Baby Steps of a Champion

WOW!! what a game!!! If you were watching the same game as I was, you have to be impressed and excited at the baby steps taken with what I currently consider one of the best teams in the NFL.

Tough Defense, innovative game plan, got to see Tebow play and play well at a critical time in the game. CONGRATS on your first NFL TD!!! By the way, that’s really tough to do (come off the sideline cold and play at a high level) Keep that ball somewhere, buddy. Orton was spectacular, the receivers catch with their hands and I love it. The line made noticeable improvements and we’ll touch on that later. I had binoculars the entire game and watched footwork and hands all day.

Titans Fall

Gotta love Orton!!! No help in the running game he still pulls the trigger. And the receiving corps?? GAME BALLS for all of them.

Been funny listen to the debates…Can you get to the Superbowl without a running game? Of course not, just like you can’t without a defense. Then, what percentage do you need to run the ball? Wow, I’m not sure in all my years around football I’ve ever heard these kind of stupid questions get circulated?

Red Zone….Colt Blues

Maroney

Over 400+ yards in the air and we couldn’t crack the RED ZONE. That’s where football games are won. WHY you might ask? Good question.

The field compresses and you have to have your A game. That’s where 3 points can kill you when you need 7. Especially when you can’t punch it in from inside the 5-yard line.

Even though we took it on the chin, I was actually pleased with what I saw most of the game. A turnover here or there and a few busted plays and busted routes, and we’re in this thing….really!!

This is OUR House

September 20th, 2010 - 10:44pm by mark_cooperOther posts by

I know you’ve seen the commercials, and it’s almost funny how kids pick up on these sayings that have been around longer than me and you both. The commercialization of them that makes them bigger than life.

It’s TRUE, this is OUR HOUSE and it’s important to win at home for the city, the fans and the home team. You create a dominance and you create a mystique that has it’s own life and advantage.

We have a distinct advantage here in the Mile High City and I’ll reminisce. We’re a MILE high. Therefore, the opponent — no matter how good a shape he is in — is at a distinct disadvantage. MILE HIGH, less oxygen.

Young ‘Lions’ in Our Lineup

Kyle Orton

Bruce Hall, Lance Ball, Eric Decker and Matthew Willis mixed in with Jabar Gaffney’s performance excited me. Yep, I’m a homer. Justin Fargas did a nice job, too. You know me if you’ve been reading this long enough. In preseason I look for bright spots and don’t really watch the game as much.

I liked what I saw out of the first team offense outside other than the tipped pass, which is going to happen from time to time, and the game got out of hand early, but by halftime we were only down by two. It was a nice drive during the 2-minute drill.

Offensive Line Play 101

August 10th, 2010 - 7:03am by mark_cooperOther posts by

Now that all the camps are in full bloom, someone’s finally mentioned the O-Line. Figures. All the glamor stories have been told so what else is there? The O-line, yea, let’s talk about them. Seems like an after thought, right. NOT.

That’s where the games going to be won this year if you ask me. Good flat backs, short choppy steps, lead with the face mask, head up, follow with the hands grabbing the opponents chest and jersey (always), accelerate the hips and rotate them simultaneously upon contact and keep driving the guy until the whistle blows….sounds easy right. Guess again.

07Elway knows the game

May 28th, 2010 - 7:09pm by mark_cooperOther posts by

OK, you’ve been asking and if you send me something special I’ll get it up on the blog. 07Elway, blogger Ashely, knows the game and is graduating so here’s one of our TOP bloggers.

Wildhorse, on 3rd downs, tell me Tebow won’t be a weapon of mass destruction used in key situations.

You tell me where he should be used?? Game on, bring it.

07elway does every time…you go girl and thanks for the great shot.
