Wide receiver Trindon Holliday scored on a 90-yard punt return touchdown and a 104-yard kick return touchdown to mark the longest respective plays in each category in NFL postseason history. He also became the first player in league postseason history to record a punt return touchdown and kick return touchdown in the same playoff game.

Quarterback Peyton Manning tied the Broncos’ postseason record with three touchdown passes. He tied John Elway, who did so three times, for that mark.

Wide receiver Brandon Stokley’s 15-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter against Baltimore marked the fourth NFL team (Baltimore, Indianapolis, Seattle and Denver) that he has caught a postseason touchdown pass for. He joins Keenan McCardell as the only players in NFL history to accomplish that feat.

The kickoff temperature of 13 degrees marked the second-coldest home game in Broncos history. The temperature was the coldest – home or away – in Broncos postseason history.

Inside the Numbers: Week 17

The Broncos were the only team in the NFL in 2012 that did not allow a single 300-yard passer.

Denver’s 38-3 win against Kansas City coupled with Indianapolis’ 28-16 win against Houston meant the Broncos finished with the AFC’s No. 1 playoff seed and tied for the NFL’s best regular-season record in 2012, finishing 13-3.

Quarterback Peyton Manning finished the season with Broncos records in completions (400), passing yards (4,659), completion percentage (68.6 pct.), touchdowns (37), passer rating (105.9) and 300-yard games (9).

The Broncos are one of just three teams in NFL history to win 11 consecutive games by seven or more points. Denver joins the 1942 Chicago Bears (11) and the 2005 Indianapolis Colts (13) as the only teams to accomplish that feat. Manning was the signal caller for two of those three teams.

For the first game in the 2012 season, the Broncos did not turn the ball over in Sunday’s win against Baltimore.

Returner Trindon Holliday leads the NFL with a 35.2 kick return average and is tops in the league with an 11.4 punt return average since joining the Broncos in Week 6. He is also the only player in the league to have a 14-0 record through the first 15 weeks of the 2012 season.

Quarterback Peyton Manning became the first quarterback in the Super Bowl era to achieve nine 11-win seasons. He extended his NFL record for 4,00-yard passing seasons with his 12th this year.

With the Broncos win and Patriots loss in Week 15, Denver can clinch the AFC’s No. 2 seed and a first-round bye if it wins the final two games of the regular season against Cleveland (12/23) and Kansas City (12/3).

LB Wesley Woodyard and CB Chris Harris are two of just three players in the NFL to register more than two sacks and more than two interceptions through Week 15 of the 2012 season.

Defensive Tackle Mitch Unrein’s 1-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter against Tampa Bay was the first offensive touchdown by a defensive lineman in Broncos history. The play represented the first receiving score by an NFL defensive lineman since Ryan Denney (Buf.) on Sept. 27, 2009.

Head Coach John Fox became just the third coach to win division titles in each of his first two years with a club after inheriting a team with a losing record. He is just the second coach to take a last-place team and lead it to consecutive division championships in his first two years.

Linebacker Von Miller recorded his first career interception and returned it 26 yards for a score, to mark another career first. The play marked the fifth defensive touchdown of the season for the Broncos, and was the 11th non-offensive touchdown by the team under Fox.

The Broncos won their seventh straight game on Sunday against Tampa Bay to mark the franchise’s fourth-longest win streak, and the longest since the 1998 season when the team won 13 in a row.

Quarterback Peyton Manning passed Dan Marino for the second-most touchdowns (423) in NFL history and second-most wins by a starting quarterback (148) on Sunday. Manning is now tied with Elway for career wins by a starting quarterback.

Linebacker Wesley Woodyard, who tied for the team lead with eight tackles (5 solo) against San Diego, recorded his third interception of the season in the second quarter and returned it 25 yards to the San Diego 8-yard line. Woodyard is the only NFL player this year and just the fifth player in Broncos history (since 1982) to record at least three interceptions and three sacks in a single season.

The number of strip-sacks recorded by the Broncos in the team’s two games against San Diego this season. Defensive end Elvis Dumervil registered three, including one on the Chargers’ last snap of each game. Linebacker Von Miller added a pair, both on Sunday.

Linebacker Von Miller tied a career high with three sacks against San Diego, bringing his 2012 total to 13, which ranks second in the NFL. He leads the league in tackles for a loss with 23 on the season after tallying two more on Sunday. Miller became the first player in Broncos history since sacks became an official statistic to register three sacks and two forced fumbles in a game.

Denver’s defense held Carolina without a third-down conversion as the Panthers finished 0-12 on the day. Over the past three games, opponents have converted just 6-of-38 third downs (.158 pct.) against the Broncos. Sunday was the fourth time in franchise history that the opponent has failed to convert a third down.

Wide receiver Trindon Holliday is the only undefeated player (min. 9 games) in the NFL this season. He spent the first five weeks of the year with Houston, before coming to Denver before the team’s Week 6 game at San Diego.

Safety Mike Adams sacked Panthers quarterback Cam Newton in the end zone on Sunday to mark the Broncos’ second safety of the season. Denver is the only team in the league to record multiple safeties this year.

Tony Carter’s 40-yard interception return for a touchdown was his second defensive score of the season (65-yard FR TD at S.D.) and his second interception of the season. He is the only player in the NFL to return both an interception and fumble recovery for a touchdown this season.

Holliday’s 76-yard punt return made him one of just three Broncos to score on a punt return and kick return in the same season. He is one of six players in Broncos annals to record multiple special-teams touchdowns in the same season and just the second to do so in back-to-back games.

Inside the Numbers: Week 9

Over the past two games, Broncos opponents have returned four punts for a total of -2 yards. Punter Britton Colquitt ranks third in the NFL with a 43.1 net-punting average this season, and is one of five players to post 15-or-more punts inside the 20 with three-or-fewer touchbacks. Colquitt leads the league with opponents averaging just 3.6 yards per punt return in 2012.

The Broncos offensive line didn’t allow a sack for the third consecutive game, marking just the fourth time in team history that the line has kept the quarterback clean for three straight games. It is the first such streak since the 2008 season.

Linebacker Von Miller set a career high with three sacks against fellow second-year player Andy Dalton. Miller is now tied with Texans defensive end J.J. Watt for the NFL lead with 17 tackles for a loss through Week 9 of the 2012 season.

Wide receiver Eric Decker is tied for first in the NFL with seven receiving touchdowns since Week 4 of the 2012 season. He caught eight passes for 99 yards with two touchdowns at Cincinnati, tying for the most receptions and touchdowns among AFC players in Week 9. Sunday marked the fifth consecutive contest with at least one receiving touchdown for Decker, which is one shy of the Broncos’ all-time record. He now has 16 career receiving touchdowns, which ties him for the most receiving scores by a Bronco during his first three professional seasons (Lionel Taylor, 1960-61).

Wesley Woodyard finished with a game-high 14 tackles in Denver’s win at Cincinnati. Woodyard now has 72 tackles on the season according to press box totals, which ranks eighth in the NFL through Week 9.
