Q3 15:00: Green Bay will receive to start the second half. Denver trails 28-17.

Q3 14:59: Prater’s kick goes through the end zone for a touchback. On first down, Aaron Rodgers completes over the middle to Jermichael Finley for 16 yards. Rodgers completes to Jordy Nelson for another first down with another 16-yard gain. Rodgers is then sacked by Von Miller, his second sack of the day. On second-and-13, Rodgers’ pass is incomplete for Finley. On third-and-long, Rodgers completes to James Jones for an 18-yard gain and a new set of downs. James Starks is pushed out of bounds by Elvis Dumervil for no gain on first down. Finley then picks up 3 yards. On third down, Rodgers pass is incomplete for Greg Jennings, but pass interference is called, giving Green Bay a first down. Rodgers completes to Nelson for 8 yards on first down and Starks is stopped for no gain on second down. John Kuhn then dives forward for a first down. On first-and-goal from the 9-yard line, Rodgers is tripped up from behind by Von Miller after a 1-yard gain. On second down, Rodgers scrambles again and is stopped at the 1 yard line. Green Bay is challenging the ruling on the field that Rodgers was stopped short of the goal line.

COIN TOSS: Denver wins the toss and elects to receive.

Q1 15:00: Quan Cosby returns the opening kickoff to the 15-yard line.

Q1 13:56: Kyle Orton fires incomplete for Daniel Fells on first down. Willis McGahee runs for five yards on second down and Orton’s third down pass intended for Eric Decker is incomplete. On third down, Rodgers completes to Greg Jennings, who beat Jonathan Wilhite deep over the middle for a pickup of 43 yards. Rodgers then hits Jordy Nelson for a quick 9 yards on first down. On second down, Rodgers is flushed out of the pocket and throws incomplete intended for Jermichael Finley. Rodgers’ third down pass is too far for Donald Driver bringing up 4th-and-1 from the 12-yard line. Starks is stopped short on fourth down by Brian Dawkins and Denver takes over on downs.

McCarthy, Rodgers Prepping for Unfamiliar Foe

September 28th, 2011 - 4:57pm by Max HensonOther posts by

For the first time this season, the Broncos are preparing to play a team from the NFC as they’ll head to Green Bay for a meeting with the defending Super Bowl champions Sunday.

The two teams last squared off in Denver during the 2007 season, and it’s been 8 years since the Broncos last stepped foot on Lambeau Field.

In a conference call with the media, Packers Head Coach Mike McCarthy acknowledged the challenge the Broncos present with a new coaching staff and a revamped roster since the teams last met.

Broncos vs. Packers: Fourth Quarter Notes

August 22nd, 2008 - 9:21pm by Adam ZinserOther posts by

15:00: With a fourth-and-goal from just a few inches out, the Broncos will go for it. Head Coach Mike Shanahan and Cutler both talked with Patrick Ramsey before the teams retook the field for the opening play of the fourth quarter.

15:00: Ramsey attempted to hit Clifford Russell in the back of the endzone but couldn’t make the connection as the ball passed in and out of Russell’s hands. Turnover-on-downs, and the Packers have the ball at their own one.

13:45: The Packers failed to get a first down, and with a fourth-and-three from their own eight, Jon Ryan comes in to punt the ball away. Martinez bobbled the punt, but managed to pick it up and return it 11 yards to the Packer 46-yard line.

13:30: Ramsey fires deep down the right sideline for Colbert, who made a nice adjustment to get to the ball, but he was hit hard by Jarrett Bush and couldn’t hold on.

Broncos vs. Packers: Third Quarter Notes

August 22nd, 2008 - 8:44pm by Adam ZinserOther posts by

15:00: Clifford Russell and Glenn Martinez back deep for the second-half kickoff. It doesn’t look like we’ll see the starters anymore, as Marshall and Champ just now came out of the tunnel without pads on. I have not even spotted Cutler yet.

14:55: Martinez takes the kickoff out to the 20, and Ramsey does indeed come out onto the field to lead the offense. Marquand Manuel was shaken up on the kickoff, but he just got up and is walking off the field.

13:48: Ramsey gets hit as he throws on third-and-seven, and the pass is batted down by Aaron Kampman. Kern comes out to punt and he booms it 59 yards. But Kern’s long punt amounted to little, as Blackmon returns it 43 yards to the Denver 40.

Broncos vs. Packers: Second Quarter Notes

August 22nd, 2008 - 7:45pm by Adam ZinserOther posts by

15:00: The Broncos defense forced a punt, and the Packers were able to down the punt inside the one-yard line. Cutler and co. will come out to start their drive from deep in their own territory.

14:32: The Broncos face a third-and-eight from their own two-yard line. Cutler fakes a handoff and then hits Peyton Hillis, who breaks out of a tackle and trucks his way for 15 yards. First down Denver.

12:30: Andre Hall bursts up the middle for 18 yards and another first down. Selvin Young comes in to give him a breather.

11:25: Facing a third-and-short, Young powers up the middle for some tough yardage, getting the first down and moving out close to midfield.

9:20: The Broncos continue down the field, and on a first-and-10, Cutler fires at Royal. Al Harris had great coverage, blanketing him and batting down the ball. It was close, but no penalty called. The crowd booed, however.

Broncos vs. Packers: First Quarter Notes

August 22nd, 2008 - 6:47pm by Adam ZinserOther posts by

15:00: Matt Prater kicks off for the Broncos. He boots it deep into the endzone for a touchback. First-and-10, Green Bay, at the 20. Aaron Rodgers takes the field at QB. Starting on D for the Broncos: Marquand Manuel, Marlon McCree, Dre’ Bly, Champ Bailey, D.J. Williams, Jamie Winborn, Nate Webster, Dewayne Robertson, Marcus Thomas, John Engelberger and Elvis Dumervil

13:48: The Packers’ first two plays were Rodgers passes, going for 35 and then 17 yards.

12:51: The Packers have the ball at the Denver 26, second-and-eight. Rodgers completes a pass to Greg Jennings close to a first down. Marlon McCree pushes Jennings out of bounds.

11:30: Rodgers kept the ball on a QB sneak for a first down on the previous play. Just handed off to Brandon Jackson for a seven yard gain, taking them to the seven yard line.
