The first quarter is in the books here in Minneapolis, and the Broncos lead 7-5 as the teams switch ends.
The Broncos offense has struggled out of the gate thus far, as it has held the ball for just 3:07 while the Vikings had 11:53 time of possession. However, the Broncos defense has been the story, scoring the only touchdown on Mario Haggan’s 16-yard interception return and holding the Vikings to 0-for-5 on third downs.
The Vikings opened the scoring with a safety after downing a punt on the 1-inch line, and kicker Ryan Longwell hit a 40-yard field goal to give the game its current scoreline.
With the defense surging, the Broncos offense will look to get going in the second quarter, as they have yet to record a first down.
