X Games

Ryan Harris, J.D. Walton, Eric Decker and Zane Beadles headed up the mountain this weekend to soak in Winter X Games 15.

Above, the four pose in front of the halfpipe on Buttermilk Mountain in Aspen, Colo.

The trip has even gotten some pub on NFL.com.

Below the players ride a Snow Cat back up the mountain to check out some of the events. Just thought we’d give you a glimpse of their trip, thanks to team photographer Eric Lars Bakke.

Each week I look forward to a new game and the photographic challenges that present themselves on the field.

By this point of the season I have fulfilled many of the requests for certain games, players and on-field events needed by the various departments for which I report.

Still there is always a need for more and better photographs.

Bakke: Priceless Moments

October 27th, 2010 - 3:41pm by Gabe HiattOther posts by

Over the years I have photographed many losses. Some losses were close, leaving you with that heartbreak feeling you might have experienced in junior high.

Others maybe not so close, leaving you with a sense of bewilderment.

I struggle sometimes in those types of games trying to capture the moment, or a key play or even better a bright spot in a rather difficult environment.

Fortunately for me, last weekend’s best images came before kickoff.

The relationships and memories you build through the years as a team photographer are priceless.

You have a special entrée to a very unique group of characters in the universes’ daily theater.

As each season unfolds you begin to learn and really understand the inner-workings of your football club. It’s virtually a big wheel with many cogs that lock together to keep the flow, rhythm and unity of TEAM in balance and running smoothly.

A Sweltering Season Opener

Below is his first entry.

NFL seasons start out with many unknowns. Who will be the starting running back? Who will be number two at QB? How loaded is such and such team?

For me one of the biggest factors has always been, “What is the weather going to be in such and such town?”
