Audition Time Almost Here

February 6th, 2013 - 11:33am by cheerleadersOther posts by

The past Denver Broncos season was truly incredible. The AFC West Champions won eleven games in a row to finish the regular season 13-3 and earned the number one seed in the AFC. While on the field the Broncos proved that they are a major force to be reckoned with, off the field Broncos Nation showed its strength and came together “United in Orange”. Although this season left many ofus wanting more, it showed the potential for even greater seasons to come.

Hi, my name is Lindsey and this is my second season as a Denver Broncos Cheerleader. Now that the season has come to an end, I’ve turned my focus to preparing for the 2013 season. Auditions for the 2013-2014 Denver Broncos Cheerleaders are just a few months away, so I thought I’d give a little insight into what it takes to become a Denver Broncos Cheerleader.

Auditions are a week long, but cheerleader hopefuls prepare for months and years in advance. Most cheerleaders have had years of formal cheer and/or dance training. Brushing up on dance skills, getting into top physical shape, practicing public speaking and modeling are among activities that can help prepare candidates.

Cheering for our Troops

November 20th, 2012 - 10:25am by cheerleadersOther posts by

Hi Broncos Country! My name is Sam and this is my third season as a member of the Denver Broncos Cheerleaders. It’s also my second season as an instructor for our Junior Denver Broncos Cheerleaders (JDBC) program. I wanted to share something very special with all of you about the way that our young cheerleaders (ages 6-14) are making waves of difference in the lives of others.

As you all may know, this past Sunday, November 18th, was a home game against the San Diego Chargers and an exciting victory! Not only did we continue our winning streak, but the Broncos have now secured a big lead in the AFC West. That’s Mile High Magic at its very best!

The game was also extremely important to our organization in another special way. Sunday was our Salute to Service game honoring all the men and women that have served and those who are currently serving our country both at home and overseas. The Denver Broncos are strong supporters of all the individuals that put their lives on the line to protect our country, and one way that our cheerleading team gives back is by holding an annual drive called Cheer for the Troops.

Cheerleader Calendar Shoot – Days 5 and 6

July 29th, 2012 - 10:59am by cheerleadersOther posts by

Day five of the Broncos Cheerleaders calendar shoot began with another stunning sunrise right at our hotel with Chelsie, one of our rookies. Shortly after we finished shooting Chelsie, we headed out to Isla Mujeres, a small island a short boat ride away from our resort. The color of the water surrounding Isla Mujeres is light turquoise blue and it has beautiful beaches, palms trees and lots of character. The boat was large enough to fit our crew and the 12 cheerleaders who had just arrived to Cancun, so it was a very fun morning on the water!

Day 6 – Final day of Calendar Shoot!
I can’t believe how quickly this week has flown by! This has definitely been a trip of a lifetime for the Broncos Cheerleaders and our staff. Apple Vacations and the Riu Palace Peninsula have provided us with many memories and beautiful photos for our 2013 Denver Broncos Cheerleader Calendar! Special thanks to Sergio, Kristen, Joseline, Sedrique, Janelle, Rob, Adam, Eric, Alex, Ryan, Andrew, Jeff, Kelly, Shelly and the 2012 Denver Broncos Cheerleaders! What an incredible week!

Broncos Tackle Hunger

December 7th, 2011 - 8:01am by Stuart ZaasOther posts by

Several Broncos players spent their off day visiting local schools in support of the team’s ‘Broncos Tackle Hunger’ program.

A group of Broncos that included punter Britton Colquitt, tight end Virgil Green, defensive end Jason Hunter, defensive tackle Ryan McBean, Miles the Mascot and Broncos Cheerleaders visited Bear Creek K-8 School in Lakewood and Lois Lenski Elementary in Centennial for an assemblies. The two schools collected the most non-perishable food items throughout the month of October as part of the the food drive that collected more than 77,000 pounds of food between all of the participating schools.

“It’s real important because these kids give up their time and money and energy to help those less fortunate,” Colquitt said. “And that’s what our job is as people who are blessed, is to give to the those less fortunate and to love our neighbors.”

Cheering for the Troops

Day 5
Hi Broncos Country, reporting back to you from Tikrit, Iraq. Well, we were supposed to be on a C-130 to Baghdad, but due to a sandstorm we were grounded in Speicher for another day. We had no problem finding something to fill our time. Our military tour guide, Carmen, set up a Special Forces tour for us where we were able to explore the MRAPs (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) and even hang out on the gun range. We were all brave enough to shoot M-9 pistols and a few of us even shot automatic M-4s. After taking several pictures and signing autographs with the Special Forces Unit we made a surprise visit to the soldiers at the car wash and by car wash we mean tank wash! They were so excited to see us.

We were really lucky to be staying at “Freedom Rest” which is where soldiers go to stay for R&R. We joined them for a pizza party that evening. Afterwards, we had time to watch movies, catch up on emails and phone calls back home, swim at the pool, and even play a little ping-pong.

Showing Support Overseas

June 7th, 2011 - 10:44am by cheerleadersOther posts by

Hi Broncos Country!

We are reporting to you from military bases in the Middle East. The Denver Broncos Cheerleaders — Allyson, Heather, Jessica, Kim and Lindy, along with Kelly (Director of JDBC and DBC alum) — are performing and boosting the morale of our troops in Kuwait and Iraq. We would like to share with Broncos country the last couple of days on our amazing journey.

Day 1
We arrived in Kuwait and had lots of emotions. We feel so blessed to have this opportunity and to be able to somewhat have a glimpse of what it’s like to be in the military. When we landed, the sky was filled with sand; we landed just in time to see the end of a sandstorm. It was over 120 degrees and we were told we were in the hottest place on the planet. Every time we want to complain about the heat we all catch ourselves in the act, as we are only here for a week and our military men and women endure this heat for months and in full combat gear.

Bringing Home the Win

September 3rd, 2010 - 5:32pm by cheerleadersOther posts by

Hello Broncos Fans!

I hope many of you were able to enjoy Denver’s second pre-season home game against the Pittsburg Steelers.  This was my second game on the field as a Denver Broncos Cheerleader and our first field performance for the Junior Denver Broncos Cheerleaders.  And, may I remind you, it was a great game ending in a Bronco’s victory!

My name is Becky and this is my rookie season as a Denver Broncos Cheerleader.  This summer has been a whirlwind of events for all of the rookies on the team.  We had our summer training camp, team workouts, late night practices, photo shoots, Junior Cheerleader clinics, charity and promotional events, and our calendar release party!  It has been a little overwhelming but it has also been a lot of fun and I have already made memories that will last me a lifetime.
