January 1st, 2012 - 2:18pm by Gray CaldwellOther posts by

The captains are at midfield for the coin toss — Ryan Clady, Elvis Dumervil, Champ Bailey, Chris Kuper and Willis McGahee represented the Broncos. In addition, honorary captains Terrell Davis and former Rutgers football player Eric LeGrand, who is battling back from an injury that resulted in a severe spinal injury, were at midfield as well.

The Chiefs called heads, and it was tails. Denver won the toss and elected to defer, so the Chiefs received the ball to start the game.

After the coin toss, Tim Tebow greeted LeGrand on his way off the field.

After a touchback, the Broncos starting defense took the field. Robert Ayers, Brodrick Bunkley, Marcus Thomas and Elvis Dumervil are the defensive line. D.J. Williams, Joe Mays and Von Miller are at linebacker, and the secondary consists of Champ Bailey, Andre’ Goodman, Quinton Carter and David Bruton — replacing an inactive Brian Dawkins.

After a Kansas City punt, the Broncos offense took the field. Starting at offensive line are Ryan Clady, Zane Beadles, J.D. Walton, Chris Kuper and Orlando Franklin. Tim Tebow is at quarterback. At receiver are Eddie Royal and Eric Decker. Tight ends Daniel Fells and Virgil Green are in for the opening play of the drive, and Willis McGahee is lined up at running back.

With his start today, Clady joined T Claudie Minor (’74-77) as the only players in club history to start every game during their first four years.

NFL Scouting Combine: Day 2

February 26th, 2010 - 7:51am by Kyle SonnemanOther posts by

Good morning from day two of the NFL Scouting Combine. As you may have read, the coin toss between the Bears and the Jaguars for the picks 10 and 11 in the draft occurred this morning with the Jaguars winning the toss. That means that the Broncos, who hold the Bears pick, will have the 11th selection in the first round.

Today we are expecting to see the quarterbacks, running back and wide receivers make their way through the media room. Lots of big names amongst this group so the media room should be hopping with activity.

Like yesterday, we will be proving updates through out the day and will do our best to give you a glimpse into the NFL’s annual job fair. Please feel free to fire some combine questions and we will do our best to get them answered. Later tonight, Broncos TV will post some highlights from the podium sessions. To hear what some of the offensive lineman and tight ends had to say, click here.
