Broncos Executive Vice President of Football Operations John Elway talked about Denver’s 24-22 victory over Cincinnati during the John Elway show, which airs live at 6 p.m. each Monday on 9 News KUSA-TV, the Broncos partner station.
“I think it’s hard to explain how important it was,” Elway said of the win. “Obviously with the loss last week, our first two games were at home, and it was important for us to at least get out of here with one, after what happened last week. It was tremendously satisfying and I think with everything that came about and how the game went, I think it’s a real tribute to all the players. It was the next guy in and they stepped up and figured out a way to win.”
Elway gave credit to the coaching staff and to the team for adapting to the injuries that occurred during the game and adhering to Head Coach John Fox’s ‘next man up’ philosophy.
“The offensive staff did a tremendous job of adjusting and everyone filling in at the right time, so really the credit goes to the coaches,” he said.
DenverBroncos.com will debut a live online-streamed audio show with Elway Tuesday at 2 p.m. MT. The 30-minute show, hosted by Broncos TV’s Chris Hall, will feature questions from fans for Elway. Questions will be taken via Twitter – to submit your questions, tweet using #ElwayLive.
