New Experiences as a Cheerleader

February 28th, 2013 - 9:48am by cheerleadersOther posts by

Hi Broncos Country! My name is Kisato and I’m from Tokyo, Japan. This was my first season as a Denver Broncos Cheerleader. I can’t believe it has already been eight months since I came to Colorado. It feels like it was just yesterday. Looking back, I feel like I have really made the most of my time here.

The first thing that surprised me when I came to Colorado was that I needed a car! In Japan, I didn’t drive a car; I always used the subway or bus to go anywhere. I was so nervous to drive a car at first, but now I am finally getting used to it. However, the most difficult aspect of living in America is the language barrier.

I majored in English communication in college, but I have realized that I still have a lot to learn!

Living in Colorado, driving a car, being an NFL cheerleader, all these things were brand new to me. Many people have helped me to get to where I am now, especially my teammates. I’ve grown so much this year, not only as a dancer but also as a person.

Never in a million years did I think I would be an NFL cheerleader for the Denver Broncos. It is an honor to be able to be a member of such an amazing NFL cheerleading team. I had an amazing season with my beautiful teammates. There’s still so much I want to see and do in Colorado and I would like to keep growing. Hopefully I will be a part of DBC again and see everyone next season.

Go Broncos!!

Hi Broncos Country! On behalf of the Denver Broncos Cheerleaders, I want to thank you for your unwavering support through thick and thin, and especially throughout the 2012 season. You are the reason we are all here! Your enthusiasm and dedication both during games and at events in the community is what makes cheering for the Denver Broncos so remarkable.

And what a remarkable season this was! It marked the 20th Anniversary of the Denver Broncos Cheerleaders and a year full of accomplishments worth celebrating!

To kick off the summer of 2012, we had a record number of campers participate in the Dare to Cheer program, hosted by the Cheerleaders in partnership with the Global Down Syndrome Foundation and Ed McCaffery’s Dare to Play camps.

Cheerleader and Teacher Inspired by Students

January 11th, 2013 - 11:23am by cheerleadersOther posts by

What a HUGE start of the week it has been! The hype of the Broncos playoff game is in the air, the BCS game, premiere of the new Bachelor, Justin Bieber was in town, and I started back to school for the new year! Ok, maybe the last one isn’t as exciting for the rest of you, but it is for me.

For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Heather and this is my third season as a DBC. When I’m not cheering on our beloved Broncos to the Super Bowl, I am in the classroom cheering on my students. I am a special education teacher in Denver and I’m convinced that I have the two best jobs in town.

Hey Broncos Country! My name is Kim, and this is my fifth year as a Denver Broncos Cheerleader. Have you noticed that everywhere you go in Colorado, you see orange? Go to your local bank, restaurant, grocery store, gym, mall, practically anywhere and chances are you will see orange where ever you look. I love it!

Cheerleaders Fuel Passion of Young Girls

January 4th, 2013 - 1:42pm by cheerleadersOther posts by

Hi Broncos Country!! My name is Ashley and this is my first season as a DBC. Over the past few months, I have been blessed with many opportunities to give back to our community. Every Tuesday this season, I have had the privilege of working with our Denver Broncos All Stars. This is a competitive dance team for kids between the ages of 6 to 17 who are looking to compete both locally and nationally.

The girls in this program are coached and trained two to three times a week by myself along with a handful of other current and former DBC. They get to perform at four Broncos games throughout the season and in March we will travel to Austin, TX for the All Stars National Competition! I can’t wait to see how well they do!

Eyes on Lasik

Hello Broncos Country!

My name is Allyson and this is my fourth season as a Denver Broncos Cheerleader. All of us cheerleaders are so excited about another Broncos win, and we can’t wait for playoffs!

A few weeks ago, my teammate Tara and I attended the Denver Broncos viewing party hosted by our 20/20 Institute sponsors! It was such a lovely evening in the West Club at Sports Authority Field. The guests enjoyed live music, food, drinks and an appearance from our Mascot Miles!

We had a great time mingling with recent recipients of the Lasik eye procedure. They could not stop telling us about the life changing procedure. Most of the individuals who had received Lasik had bad vision prior. They all shared that it wasn’t until after Lasik that they realized their quality of life was compromised before the procedure.

Q&A with a Broncos Cheerleader

Happy New Year Broncos Country!

My name is Chelsie, and this is my first season as a Denver Broncos Cheerleader! I am one of three girls on the team from Minnesota and I am loving this season. What better way to bring in the New Year than with a playoff game at Sports Authority Field at Mile High on January 12th!?

During my first year on the team, there have been so many new opportunities I have experienced and memories I will never forget! One of my favorite things about being a Denver Broncos Cheerleader is being able to interact with the fans and make a difference in their lives!

I thought I would write my blog a little differently, and make it more of a Q&A! As a cheerleader, we are always asked so many questions about our job and what it’s like being a cheerleader. I have come up with a few questions that I have been asked most frequently from fans I have met at appearances and during games this season!

Contributing to the Community

Hi Broncos fans! My name is Toni G., and this is my first season as a Denver Broncos Cheerleader.

I moved to Denver this past spring from Minneapolis, Minnesota, and I can honestly say it was the best decision I have ever made! As a Denver Broncos Cheerleader, I’ve found the perfect combination of my two biggest passions in life: dancing and making a difference in the lives of others. Not only do we get to perform at games, but we also have countless opportunities to work in the community at different charities and events.

Recently, I was lucky enough to attend the Holiday Fair at The Gathering Place in Downtown Denver with my fellow DBC, Margaret. The Gathering Place is a daytime drop-in center for women, their children, and transgender individuals who are experiencing homelessness and poverty. They provide meals, housing, and access to a laundry facility, among other services such as mental health counseling and GED preparation.

Spreading Holiday Cheer

December 18th, 2012 - 2:25pm by cheerleadersOther posts by

Happy Holidays Broncos fans! Did you all see Knowshon Moreno’s hurdle over the Ravens player in the Baltimore game yesterday?!? Clearly our boys are here to play this holiday season. Keep up the cheering, we have some important games coming up for the team!

My name is Margaret and I have been enjoying my third season with the Denver Broncos Cheerleaders. During this time of year, our squad is constantly inspired by Broncos fans as we rekindle some annual relationships in the community.

This weekend was no different. I spent time at The Gathering Place, wishing many families a happy holiday season. I loved seeing so many ladies in Denver excited about the Broncos! Our annual performance and visit to Craig’s Hospital was a wonderful blessing and we met some remarkable patients who were Broncos fans through and through. Three previous patients of Craig’s Hospital partnered up with a few of our cheerleaders to perform a wonderful holiday routine. The grace that the gentleman had in their movement and the innovative choreography with their equipment put a smile on everyone’s face and showed us all that there really are no limits in what can be done.

Cheerleaders Reflect on Woodyard’s Toy Drive

December 14th, 2012 - 2:13pm by cheerleadersOther posts by

Hi Broncos Country!

I hope you are all enjoying the holiday season so far. Despite the recent cold weather, this is most definitely my favorite time of the year!

My name is Kara and this is my second year as a DBC. This season has been so exciting and full of amazing memories so far. This past Monday night added to these memories as I was able to share being a part of an incredible cause with a few of my teammates. Wesley Woodyard hosted the Third Annual 16Ways Foundation’s Toy Drive. The event aimed to collect as many toys as possible that will be given to children that otherwise would not receive gifts on Christmas.
