Broncos linebacker Von Miller has added to his growing list of career accolades with his first AFC Defensive Player of the Month Award, the NFL announced on Thursday.
Miller led the AFC with eight sacks and 10 tackles for a loss in the month of November, while tying for the conference lead with three forced fumbles. He was the only player to record a sack in four different games during the month, helping the Broncos to a 4-0 record in November.
Last year’s Defensive Rookie of the Year, Miller established, and then matched his career high with a pair of three-sack games in November. He brought down fellow 2011 first-round draft choice Andy Dalton three times on Nov. 4 against the Bengals to start the month and set a new career high with 29 yards lost on his three sacks of Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers on Nov. 18.
Miller earned the AFC Defensive Player of the Week award following his three-sack, two-forced fumble effort in Denver’s win vs. San Diego in Week 11.
