Editor’s Note: This season, DenverBroncos.com will feature two player blogs. Linebacker Von Miller and wide receiver Eric Decker will check in with a new post every week. Below is Miller’s first entry of the season. You can read Decker’s initial post here.

Hey Broncos Country!
Von Miller here with my first blog of the season. I’m looking forward to posting each week and giving you guys an inside look at what goes on as we get ready for the upcoming game each week.
I just got a new camera – a Canon Mark II 5D. I haven’t gotten the Mark III, but I’m going to, so I’m hoping I can share a few pictures with you guys throughout the year. Whenever I get some cool shots, you guys will be the first to see them.
Everybody is excited to open the season at home at Sports Authority Field in front of the best fans in the NFL.
We’ve got the orange jerseys back this year and as a defense, we’re hoping to bring fans back to the Orange Crush days.
I’m ready to get out there in front of the fans. We had a lot of stuff happen around Denver in the last year and we just want to bring some happiness and joy – and hopefully some wins – back to Colorado this season.
On the college side, we have A&M in the SEC this year. We have our first SEC game this weekend vs. Florida, and I’m sure we’ll turn Gators into swampbait coming up. I’m pretty excited about that too.
Gig em!

Knowshon is going to have the best game of his career tomorrow.
PM has been working hard at misleading TP. I bet he still throws him a pick. It’s just the way the game goes.
DB I don’t think PM goes INT free and if any one is goo g to pick him off it will be Polomalu.
I would love to see that stiff arm from KM again…
Can’t see him being cut when they just named him the #2….barring injury and continued ineffectiveness…I figure it’s his position to lose.
I’m thinking that KM got a good dose of just how close he is to being completely out of the NFL and he actually played ‘inspired’ through the preseason. I think he earned a career even if it isn’t with the Broncos.
Bringing back the Orange Jerseys to Denver Broncos this season and the “ORANGE CRUSH DEFENSE”;
I remember the Orange Crush The 1st string defense consisted of NT Rubin Carter, RILB Randy Gradishar (1977 1st team All-Pro, Pro Bowl), ROLB Tom Jackson (1977 1st team All-Pro, Pro Bowl), LILB Joe Rizzo, LOLB Bob Swenson, RDE Lyle “the animal” Alzado (1977 1st team All-Pro, Pro Bowl), LDE Barney Chavous, SS Bill Thompson (1977 1st team All-Pro, Pro Bowl), FS Bernard Jackson, RCB Steve Foley and LCB Louis Wright (1977 Pro Bowl) and I believe with our Linebacking corp and the new defensive front and a strong secondary we can get back to the days of holding teams under 14 points, no team that Denver played in 77′ scored more then 14 points during the regular season. GO BRONCOS SUPERBOWL!!!
Nice thing about TP picks is that he is going to get burned just as often. PM will see to that as well. LOL
Our WR’s need to do a better job of catching the ball. Two of Manning’s preseason INT’s came off of tipped balls. They were given a pass last year, for obvious reasons, but there is no excuse this year. I think they will be fine, as they could still be a tad bit surprised to have the ball delivered on target.. Lol
Gary – you are stuttering. We saw that.
Polamalu and Reed are the two who most likely will pick Manning off.
DB where did you get KM being cut? He wont be cut. If anything he will be traded.
Might be true AB but if any of our RB get hurt I doubt he goes anywhere.
Kod-I was just kidding about the singing. I thought it was great!
Be nice OT –
I find it ironic that Eli and PM and Brady and almost every other QB get a pass when they throw a stupid looking ball but TT doesn’t get any respect no matter what.
Just goes to show – only God really thinks – ‘all men were created equal.’
Cat I wouldnt be so sure. We do have JJ on the PS. Only RB injuries I can see that keeps KM on the team are McGahee and Moreno getting hurt himself. And for McGahee it has to be a severe injury where he will miss most if not all the season.
I know 3rd……I was just being cheeky right back at ya! lol
Going into preseason KM had no trade value. I figure that after preseason he now has trade value.
I figure that KM has a shot at displacing McG if he continues the way he did in preseason and can remain healthy. Good chance of it because KM prepared better this offseason and McG is known for winding down throughout the season.
I think KM is on his way out. The pick of Hillman reinforces that. They want best they can get so they are going to increase his value and trade him for a 3 or 4th round pick. If they wait till the deadline I think they can even squeeze out a 2nd from a team who is on the playoff bubble and needs help at RB and is desperate.
Hillman is going to take reps from both KM and McG – It’ll help them both.
Except with your theory on that DB is that God knows He created everyone special and I think that sometimes you only want Tim to be special when God made Peyton Manning special too. It is quite annoying how in love with Tebow you are. The guy can do no wrong in you eyes.
Hillman is a rookie and I thought it showed in preseason. I doubt that he rises on the depth chart this season.
I like McG but 30+ RBs are normally on the way out. If KM can stay healthy…McG is the one on the lam.
Any GM in their right mind would need to see a string of healthy games put together by Knowshon, before giving up anything of value for him IMO. It’s possible that come the trade deadline we could reach that point, but remember, players are rarely traded for players. If we are looking like we could make a run, and Knowshon is playing well (making a trade even possible), it will be a tough call to make to collect future draft picks when you want to win now IMO. it might be the right call, but all I’m saying is it will be a tough call.
Hillman is a rookie and yes it showed but his style of game is similar to KMs. Which is why I think Moreno is still likely on his way out.
As for McG he is 30+ but his play doesnt show it and he doesnt have the normal mileage that other 30+ RBs have.
Don’t think Moreno is going anywhere if he stays healthy. We all know good running backs are a premium in this league. Has anyone heard how many people showed for the pep rally? I sure would have liked to have been there.
OT not saying it will be easy. But I still am expecting it. It will take a string of healthy games yes. But if he can do that I would rather trade him get the most value back instead of continuing a risk on his health. He can stay healthy and run for 800 yards before week 8 it comes along we get a great offer but turn it down then he gets hurt the next week. Yes I know it can also turn out we trade him and he runs for over 1800 yards. Just to me getting the most value in return instead of risking it on his health would be the better choice. JMHO
I’m surprised you think that AB – McG was pretty much a non factor in the playoffs. I’m thinking that JE is looking for R. backs that are peaking come Dec. Hillman could be his best guess. But KM really hasn’t had his shot as the injury bug keeps biting him.
I don’t know but it seems to me that KM is in the best shape he’s been since college and much stronger now…it would be good to see him pull it together for the Broncs rather than someone else. His performance means we can keep him cheap – for now.
have a good feeling about hillman. i mean this guy broke marshall Faulk records. helllllllllooooo
And for those playoffs DB where was Moreno? Oh yea on IR….
Also last year showed he may be 30+ years old but his play doesnt show it nor does he have the mileage most 30+ RBs do. Hes been a backup for the most part.
One thing thats hard for me saying this is that if you look at how McG started his career and compare it to Morneos similarities are there. It all comes down to if youd rather continue the risk on his health or get good value in return. To me I gotta go with good value.
Hillman looked tiny and he chose the wrong holes to run through. He got sat down on his kester too many times. A fault which time will cure. I hope Hillman is the long term answer to our RB problem – I just hate seeing our RB’s excelling for other teams.
I am no Moreno fan but he did well in preseason. Hillman looks to need some time before he is ready. If Hillman gets some playing time and begins to shine, Moreno may be gone. I just think they need to see something from Hillman first.
McGahee is getting better as he gets older and no one is happier about Manning than he and Champ.
Like yourself, AB, I’m only guessing – but KM got my pulse pumpin’ like a horse race during preseason.
I agree he has spent way to much time on IR. My feeling is that this new conditioning staff is going to pay huge dividends particularly for our RB’s and KM has the most immediate upside in the corral.
It’s a good opinion AB, and I agree from a business standpoint. Next year is Moreno’s last year under contract, and his salary jumps, which will go against the cap. That, together with his injury history, it would be great to sell high on him, and get a return on investment. Only problem is that it would require the best case scenario, including all our RB’s staying healthy, and all of them being productive. Also, as much as I love Hillman, we don’t know yet if he has ball security issues, or if he can pick up the blitz.
DB I saw both good and bad from Hillman during the preseason. Which time will fix.
Also people are forgetting JJ who had a rather good showing in preseason and last year. He can even be called up if Moreno gets traded. I like Moreno and he has shown a lot during the preseason. But like I keep saying I would rather get good at week 8 then risk an injury beyond that.
Not saying trade him now. But at week 8.
Also DB our history of RBs going to other teams is that they dont do that great. But there are exceptions to that (Hillis being a obvious one)
KM will show up this season. he knows he has to, and thats all there is to that.
now what do yall think about wolfe???
That’s wishful thinking Cat. I think McG begins to decline into a simply functional back through the next few years. He will break a few exceptional runs – no doubt – but his best years are behind him. There is no way for him to be stronger, more agile, than he previously was. He can only decline.
Manning is not perfect DB. He made one of the biggest mistakes you could ever make in your career as a QB. He threw a pick six in he SB. The he proceeded to throw the biggest tizzy fit I’ve ever seen. I was disappointed and mad at him for not only throwing the INT but for acting like a fool afterwards. But the first thing he did the next day was apologize for acting like a fool. Not whey guy is going to do that and Tom Brady definitely didn’t when he refused to acknowledge that Eli Manning existed before or after the first SB Eli won. Peyton Manning is not perfect. He is not going to be perfect. He will make mistakes and throw INT, but he is better than Tim Tebow as a QB. And I am glad he is my QB.
OT I completely understand the reasons against it. About this its like im standing just to the trade side of the line but standing so close looks like im standing on it.
My biggest thing is the similarities in McGs and Morenos starting their careers is rather scary. Both cam out and when healthy did well but had a hard time staying healthy and when they could they became the 2nd or 3rd string RB till they got a chance to start.
Silga is on our active roster. He just tweeted about it.
We can agree to disagree DB… I think Willis is going to have another good year.
Milehigh I have no doubt Morenos play will be much better. But health is a factor. Still have questions about if he can stay on the field.
As for Wolfe I love him. He just goes and goes. He looks like he has no issue getting into the backfield to make plays. Going to help our DLine greatly.
Cat who did we cut or put on IR to have space for him?
My personally feelings and hopes are for Moreno to finally put it all together, and remain the the club and have a good career with us. I love seeing the guys we draft stay with the team and do well, and I think we’re finally doing a better job of that, with Von Miller being John Elway’s first draft pick! No doubt Moreno has had a tough go at it thus far, but think it’s a little premature to give up on him now.
Siliga is another beast for big Ben to watch.
I LOVE SILIGA!!!
What’s this??? Tell us about Siliga!!!
They haven’t said!!!!! He just tweeted it!
Get greedy greedy greedy lets see you break record for sacks this year
I couldn’t believe he got cut – he’s back? Post the article – twitter the tweet – c’mon now… you got me going!!!!
sealver siliga @S_Siliga
After one week of practice squad. Denver broncos have put me on the active 53 roster! #blessed
Siliga (DT) is a Somoan warrior with a ton of upside IMO.
