Editor’s Note: This season, DenverBroncos.com will feature two player blogs. Linebacker Von Miller and wide receiver Eric Decker will check in with a new post every week. Below is Miller’s first entry of the season. You can read Decker’s initial post here.

Hey Broncos Country!
Von Miller here with my first blog of the season. I’m looking forward to posting each week and giving you guys an inside look at what goes on as we get ready for the upcoming game each week.
I just got a new camera – a Canon Mark II 5D. I haven’t gotten the Mark III, but I’m going to, so I’m hoping I can share a few pictures with you guys throughout the year. Whenever I get some cool shots, you guys will be the first to see them.
Everybody is excited to open the season at home at Sports Authority Field in front of the best fans in the NFL.
We’ve got the orange jerseys back this year and as a defense, we’re hoping to bring fans back to the Orange Crush days.
I’m ready to get out there in front of the fans. We had a lot of stuff happen around Denver in the last year and we just want to bring some happiness and joy – and hopefully some wins – back to Colorado this season.
On the college side, we have A&M in the SEC this year. We have our first SEC game this weekend vs. Florida, and I’m sure we’ll turn Gators into swampbait coming up. I’m pretty excited about that too.
Gig em!

Your such a great player and have such a great character!!! Cant wait to see you taking Big Ben down!!!!
As for that college game I like the Gators so I hope they can beat Texas A&M!!!!!
Von!!!!! Yay!!!!!! Hi!
Orange Crush days are back!
You betting wig Tim over the game?
*betting with Tim
Von, you are a beast and when they look back at your career, they will say you were one of the most significant draft picks in Broncos history!
Have an awesome season and…….
EAT GREEDY!
I agree with Kod! The day you were drafted Von will forever be one of my most favorite Broncos memories!
One thing I just saw is the Denver Broncos have the highest home win percentage in Season openers in the NFL. 38-13-1
I think my favorite two words in the English language are: Von Miller!
Having Peyton is great, but I for one am WAY more pumped up about the defense this year! Seeing you mention restoring the Orange Crush has me grinning from ear to ear! The pass rush is my favorite part of the game, and you are already one of the greats. The fact that we were in position to draft you makes our earlier troubles all worthwhile, and I hope you never leave Broncos Country!
Keep grinding and I can’t wait to watch you EAT GREEDY all season!!!
Wow, Von Miller on the blog, awesome! Can’t wait to see you play this season, few can match your dedication to excellence and we all know you’ve worked hard to be better than last season. That’s something to be excited about as good as you played in your rookie year.
It will be fun to see some of the photo’s you take, everyone has a different eye when it comes to photography. Thanks for sharing that with us, it will give us insite of who Von Miller the person is when he’s not on the field.
I can’t wait for the game Sunday. Just like everyone else, I’ll be looking forward to seeing P. Mannng in action. However,I’m just as excited to see the revamped JDR defense play and especially excited to see the pass rush with the addition of D. Wolfe . His push on the inside with you and Doom coming off the edge should give the Steelers more than they can handle. That is going to be a sight to see. The Orange Crush defense is back! Go Broncos!
I’m curious who will lead the team in FORCED FUMBLES this season?
In reply to your comment on the previous blog, I agree AB. I think our pass rush versus the Pittsburg makeshift OL, will be a huge advantage for us. It’s the perfect storm.. Lol
WOW!! Von Miller!! Great to have you on board with the greatest football fans on the planet. I hope you have a great season and enjoy your year We are proud to call you a Denver Bronco. Along with Doom and Wolfe, this should be a very fun season. Especially for us, not so much for our opponents. Go Get Em. I can’t wait.
Von Miller! Thanks for taking the time on the blog. Looking forward to hearing your insights!
I think a key to this game is more about our secondary than our pass rush. Yes, I think we’ll get our share of pressure………but Big Ben is so hard to take down and can extend plays and make plays in the face of a lot of pressure. So it’ll be on our secondary to make sure they have Wallace and Brown covered well so they can’t make big gains when plays break down.
Kod I see that but I really think if we can keep constant pressure and force early passes we wont have to worry about our secondary keeping track of them longer. As long as they can keep with them till pressure gets to Big Ben. But our pass rush will have to make sure to take Big Ben down instead of letting him escape.
Mr. Miller!!!! Tomorrow you won’t have that cast in your way….make ‘em (Big Ben in particular) eat turf!!!!
The secondary definitely needs to do their part, but if we can pressure Ben, he will be forced to throw earlier than planned, which will lead to mistakes. I agree Ben has been tough to bring down in the past, but he’s getting older, and now we have that third rusher in Wolfe. On obvious passing downs, we might also see JDR line up Malik as well, and he could be unblocked..
I hear that too AB………guess it’s just safe to say it’ll take a complete team effort………lol
I honk its Peyton Manning…
Me too Cat….me too…. LOL
Also Big Ben is hurting. His ankle is bothering him still along with his throwing shoulder and hand.
Kod LOL guess it really will take the whole team lol
To OT and all who think in terms of BB’s 30 years and his broken ankle:
Forget it. It won’t help.
Miller to BB…BB to the ground…
Doom to BB…BB to the ground…
Wolfe to BB…BB to the ground
Kod- just saw your video. That’s awesome (the singing could use some work)! I tweeted it to a few players. I hope they watch!
Great to join the blog at the same time as Von and Eric. My parents are the biggest bronco fans in the world… Married on Superbowl sunday vs Giants in 87 and the first time the broncos won the superbowl was on their 11th anniversary. Just got my manning jersey the other day all I need is a Von Miller Jersey and I’ll be set. Looking forward to you having another 10+ sack season. I predict about 16.5 for you this season if you stay healthy. Good luck and Go Broncos!!!
except if Tebow was still playing with us…….he could do it all on his own like he did last year! LMAO
Couldn’t resist that one based on Schlereth’s recent visit to First Take! hahaha
3rd……I never claimed to be a professional singer……….lol
and singing AC/DC is not an easy feat by any means………..it was done all for fun my friend.
In Pittsburgh they are saying that PM is an old guy with injuries and they are going to plant him….
They are pleased and excited to be going against ‘conventional and old school’ rather than ‘scramble and innovation.’
Haha DB blame it on my kindle.
Wow! AFC Playbook completely tore Peyton apart and said that there is no way Dick LeBeaus defense allows him to shred the defense. Excuse me!? Didn’t they say that about us last year too? Damn. We get the best free agent of all time and our team is healthy except for Mule and THEY STILL THINK WE HAVE NO CHANCE TO WIN!!!!!!!!! GRRRRRRRR
Kod – it was great!!!
Von, I`m a big fan of yours and have a Awesome season. I`m stoked about the season to get under way.
GO ORANGE CRUSH. Time for some VONDOOM and COMPANY!!!!!!!!
Kupe! Dang it!!!!!!! I am so mad. Haha. The Steelers are missing their best safety and James Harrison and Peyton Manning is old and breakable. This whole thing is laughable to me. Ben IS NOT healthy. The guy has a torn rotator cuff and a bum ankle. Smh. And I watched Andrew Alick tear apart that defense a few weeks ago. And I bet you that Peyton watched him do it and took notes! LOL
*Luck
I need to stop typing so fast
Thanks DB!
I watched the Steelers play and practice…BB does not look like he is playing injured. (At least not after the ball is hiked…I did see him limp a little during the commercial…then he took off for an 11 yard run.) He wants you to underestimate him.
I am not underestimating him but I am also not going to be afraid of him either. He doesn’t scare me. On any other Sunday I cheer for him. But my team is healthier and they are completely counting our defense out and they think that Peyton is not smart enough to figure this defense out. I’m not BUYING any of it!
would be funny if they ran that hitch route they used in OT last year as the first play in this game……….LMAO
Pretty sure it’ll be a hand off to McGahee for 8 yards.
Not underestimating him DB. I know he is a good QB and can play well. He even toughens it out during games but when hes hurt it still hampers the offense. It did last year while he was playing hurt. Also when hes getting hit on almost every passing game it will take an affect. They have little to no run game to turn to to give him a break. Like I said earlier. In the playoff game he was always getting hit almost every pass play he got hit. That was without Warren and Wolfe.
I can go with the idea of him being hit on every play…I like it!
I’m looking forward to the first arguement between Ben and Haley……..should happen before halftime! hahaha
Kod I agree… but I also want Peyton to air it out. Fox won’t do that but the bonus of this year is his ability to audible and change the play. We have a lot of weapons… I think the NFL is really underestimating US!
We gonna slap him around with WolfeVonDoom…
and add in a little Warren, a little Mays, and maybe some Woody…
I like it!
QB hits, and FF’s are the stats to watch this season IMO!
And a sack can technically count as both!
Yah cat……..but I think we’ll see some great play action passing and an awesome screen game to combat the blitz……..PM will have that D read like a book!
I CAN’T wait for screen passes! Oh how I missed you screen passes! LOL
Knowshon is gonna kill it with the screen game.
I remember the Orange Crush The 1st string defense consisted of NT Rubin Carter, RILB Randy Gradishar (1977 1st team All-Pro, Pro Bowl), ROLB Tom Jackson (1977 1st team All-Pro, Pro Bowl), LILB Joe Rizzo, LOLB Bob Swenson, RDE Lyle “the animal” Alzado (1977 1st team All-Pro, Pro Bowl), LDE Barney Chavous, SS Bill Thompson (1977 1st team All-Pro, Pro Bowl), FS Bernard Jackson, RCB Steve Foley and LCB Louis Wright (1977 Pro Bowl) and I believe with our Linebacking corp and the new defensive front and a strong secondary we can get back to the days of holding teams under 14 points, no team that Denver played in 77′ scored more then 14 points during the regular season. GO BRONCOS SUPERBOWL!!!
Yeah, Mccoy had to blow off the dust on that section of the playbook! hahaha
But of course, you can get a QB hit, w/o a sack. It’s all about grinding down their offense. Much like our offense needs to keep their defense on the field with long drives and wear them out..
I really hope this is the season Moreno stays healthy and leaves me no other choice but to change my opinion of him.
I gotta say another part of this game that im looking forward to are our WRs/TEs vs their pass coverage. We have two good WRs and they only have Ike Taylor and we all know how well he can cover DMT…..Polamalu is more of a roamer. And with that thats their pass coverage. Their LBs are a group to pass rush and stop the run. Not pass defense and are a rather slow group. Harrison wont start but may see time and I question how effective he will be. I just dont see how they can stop our passing game with only one good pass defender (Polamalu) and a guy we tore up last year
I have read multiple places that Moreno will be gone before week 8. That we will use him as much as we can to increase his value and trade him. Read that from a few different people on twitter and elsewhere.
