Taking in the Postseason

January 4th, 2013 - 1:43pm by Eric Decker

There’s playoff football on television, and I’ll be like most of you these next couple days — I’m going to watch it all. It’s gonna be nice to enjoy the weekend and just be at home, watching football. It’s kind of like you wait for the playoffs and it’s a fun time of the year. It’s the tournament. It’s one-and-done. I’ll be at home enjoying the games, being on my iPad studying, figuring out who we’re going to play and getting ready.

As far as us not playing this week, I’m very glad we earned the bye week. The hard work we put in all year, it paid off. We haven’t lost focus at all. We put in some good work this week and we’re excited about the break, just to get mentally and physically rested to get ready for next week.

Enjoy the games. I’ll catch up with you next week when we’ll know who we’re playing.

I missed on the Houston game…congrats Mr. Kubiak – I’d love to see you produce a miracle and take out NE for us!!!!

    Go Texans!!!

So…I still think this is Rodgers game to lose. Really don’t care who wins except everyone else is hoping AP can run them outta town.

  2. tlcat06 says:

I know but honestly… I really didn’t have any idea this could ever be possible. You’re supposed to be moral support for me here. It’s ok though, because I fixed it for myself.

  3. tlcat06 says:

I’m sick of AD. I’m ready for Rodgers to kick some butt!

  4. sethman26 says:

Thanks for the update Decky… 4 quarters, 15 minutes, lets play OUR game and leave it all on the field! Would of loved to seen y’all play, but I will be rooting loud and proud, half way across the wolrd! Go Bronx!

  5. WieminCA says:

Well, it’s either Ravens or Colts … doesn’t matter which … either has pluses and minuses … but get ready for a defensive struggle … there sure wasn’t much offense in the Texans/Bengals game …

My cataract surgery went well … now I have to get used to seeing distance-wise without glasses, and reading with glasses … it’s ingrained in me to be the other way … it’s too early to tell, they tell me … must wait until the swelling and dilation goes away … however – I’m taking the approach that Peyton Manning and Mr Peterson took – rehab the hell out of it … whatever they tell me to do, I’ll gladly do … experience is the best teacher, and they’re the ones with the experience …

The next week will be a long one for all Broncos fans … we’ve come too far to lose now, but you never know … you can’t expect the Vikings to do will w/o their starting quarterback … what a loss at this late date … imagine if Peyton Manning went down … could Os be expected to take us to the promised land … hardly … every team needs their full complement to succeed in the post-season …

Anybody hear what the status of Willis McG is?? … is there any hope for him to play?? … or is he on IR and that’s the end of it?? … I haven’t heard word one …

And OldSouthStander – thanks for the encouragement …

    Halftime.

How about this for your morale then: since you love both teams very much and in case the Broncos lose, just imagine how much better you will feel than any of us purely Bronco fans.

And trying to win in Lambeau without a throwing QB, ouch, how painful, not to mention ugly. Hopefully tomorrow’s games will be better quality than today, these two just haven’t been playoff worthy IMO.

  7. Bronco Daniel says:

A Bronco in south gate L.A. Along away from Westminster co (home town) stay focused Decker push yourself persevere and take it, its yours, all of team worked hard. Proud of you all, you all have power, each play gives an opportunity to use that gift. Play hard, play smart Champions in the End =)

  8. tnalen66 says:

I feel for Brandon Marshall one of the best WR and has never played in the playoffs. I was hoping the packers would of played like this last week so the Bears would of gotten in and all the AP MVP talk would of ended at the end of the season. How does Jim Schwartz keep his job & Lovie Smith get fired?? Schwartz was a DC and the Lions D is terrible.

  9. oldsouthstander says:

CA: You’ll be amazed how much better your sight gets as the healing takes place. I assume you’ll go back for a recheck in about 2 weeks. If the surgeon is happy, it’s back to your noirmal eye DR. Clear sailing ahead.

  10. tlcat06 says:

    Bay,

I won’t feel good at all if the Colts beat the Broncos in the divisional round of the playoffs. But I can’t root for the Patriots, so obviously I’d root for them in the Championship game. However, it’s not going to happen.

  11. sndvl says:

What a disappointment it must have been for Ponder. That game was almost unwatchable after the Vikes opening drive…

Good thing for the Texans (particularly Schaub after that pick 6) that the Cincy O was really flat. I expected that game to have some offensive fireworks. Haha…

The early game tomorrow should be fun. Especially as a spectator!

  12. sndvl says:

    Happy Early Birthday TIcat!!!

  13. bfallona says:

Hey CA I had 2 Cataract Surgeries in November. Wore glasses for 55 years. I can see colors I haven’t seen in 20 years way too bright. Had a black eye for 2 weeks. Now all is well about 6 weeks later. Need a glasses for night driving as I have a bit of a blur. Now to the Broncos, I bet we end up playing the Colts how good a story would that be but neither the Ravens nor Colts scare me. Then I guess NE and hopefully Green Bay in the Super Bowl. Oh Yeah 1 game at a time ; ) Good luck

  14. strandoftds82 says:

So the Bungals is a no go. We’ll know soon enough. However the Texans play next weekend, their toast regardless!

  15. strandoftds82 says:

Oh yes, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TICAT06!! The big 30.

  16. strandoftds82 says:

Prediction: The Atlanta Falcons will lose next weekend. HaHa!! They’ll choke!!

  17. strandoftds82 says:

    *Whoever*

  18. baylinorcrush says:

I can’t believe Jeff Lewis passed away at 39! One of the great thing for him is he got to be a Bronco for our best three years in a row (96-98). RIP.

And happy belated B-day to the Broncos/Colts school teacher.

  19. baylinorcrush says:

I guess it’s not belated if it is today…

30, always the toughest birthday for women in my experiences, while 40 seems to be the toughest for men, good luck.

And that’s because women lose their good looks quicker than men, haha.

My wife is still sleeping, so I’m safe with that…

  20. tlcat06 says:

Thanks guys but you’re a whole week early!!! Next Saturday!

I am most looking forward to turning thirty!!! I think it’s going to be my best decade yet.

    ;)

    PUM PUM PUM!!!

Hola Broncmigos! Anybody else having a hard time accessing the Blog the last few days?!? Scalp sent me a text said he hasn’t been able to get on all week…

Anyway, Real Great game coming up Tonight! Can’t wait for the Seahawks/Redskins game!!!

    B-R-O-N-C-O-S BRONCOS BRONCOS BRONCOS!!!

  22. Bronco_Turtle says:

Cat isn’t your birthday next weekend?

  23. Bronco_Turtle says:

Haha… morning Cat… Guess you answered that question, but I thought it was the same weekend as the first Denver Game!!!

  24. OTbroncos says:

What a pair of lousy games yesterday… Hopefully we’ll get some better football today. As far as our opponent, I’d rather get the Colts. They are -12 on turnovers, and are the only team in the playoffs with a negative point differential (-30).

I’m rooting for Shanny and RGIII, but this article has me concerned with his longevity. I hope the young man has a great long career, as the NFL is going to need him, especially with all the great players on tap to retire in the next few years..

  25. Bronco_Turtle says:

    Just my thoughts

    BAL/INDY

    +/- (46) (OVER) BAL 27-20

    SEA/WSH

    +/- (50) (UNDER) SEA 28-21

  26. OTbroncos says:

Careful bay, you’re really walking the line there…. Haha

  27. OTbroncos says:

What a great year for KC to have the #1 overall draft pick. One year too late for Luck/RGIII, and one year to soon for Jadaveon Clowney, who is drawing comparisons to Lawrence Taylor…

  28. RH709 says:

McGahee is on track for his return. Should be back at practice soon and can play in the Conference game.

  29. baylinorcrush says:

That’s me, the high rope walker.

  30. baylinorcrush says:

How is life down there? LOL.

  31. Bronco_Turtle says:

OT, what did you think of the Hit Clowney put on the RB from Michigan?

  32. Bronco_Turtle says:

Heatbreaking/inspiring story on ESPN about OJ Brigance… A.L.S. is such a devastating disease

  33. Bronco_Turtle says:

Man! Final line for today IND/BAL game from Sportsbook looks like this (Definitely betting this game, maybe not the SEA game)

    o/u 47 BAL -7.5

    and SEA/WSH

    o/u 45.5 SEA -3

This is a quick and Easy place to find Lines for any Sport and they are usually spot on with the MGM book in Vegas

  34. ostia69 says:

So glad to see the loudmouthed Vikings fans quieted yesterday. Now if the skins will just put an end to the Seahawks fans I will be elated. Those two teams fans talk so much crap and havent really accomplished anything ever!

  35. dustin says:

    Go broncos

  36. Bigbroncodog says:

Ok home fans, lets show up in a big way next Saturday! Do not sell your tickets to our opponents fans! This is not a wine and cheese party (bring your heavy boots and as many noise makers as you can hold)! BRING THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN THUNDER!!!

  37. OTbroncos says:

Can’t help but think of this when talking about a high tightrope walker:

  38. Bronco_Turtle says:

What awful luck for Indy… Arians is in the Hospital with the Flu…

  39. OTbroncos says:

BT – I saw that hit, amazing stuff. My only regret is I didn’t see a whole lot of South Carolina games this year.. I know I will be watching next year!

  40. Bronco_Turtle says:

I’d never seen a hit quite so devastatingly affective OT! Drilled him 3 yards deep, forced the fumble and grabbed the Ball!!! I watched a ton of SC games last season scouting Alshon Jeffrey… I think Spurrier is one of the top 3 coaches in College Football right now (Saban and Kelly being the other 2)

  41. alaskanbronco06 says:

Man when McGahee comes back someone has to be cut. Anyone think Gronkowski is the cut?

  42. Bronco_Turtle says:

Hi AB… sounds like Gronk would be the odd man out!

  43. Bronco_Turtle says:

The Bears are going to interview Rick Dennison

  44. alaskanbronco06 says:

Hello BT. Saw someone say it could be Porter depending on his health. That he may get the ax or put on IR. Gronkowski has played 270 special teams snaps this season. Only 4 players saw more snaps.

Honestly I hate to see anyone get cut at this point. Hate to see them be apart for most of the ride and potentially miss out on the ring.

  45. bfree2bronc says:

@alaskanbronco06 – Most likely, Tracy Porter gets wacked…

  46. bfree2bronc says:

Well the Colts won’t have their offensive coordinator to call plays today, he was sent to the hospital with an illness. That sucks for Luck…

  47. Bronco_Turtle says:

Dennison would be a good fit for the Bears I think, at least he has familiarity with Cutler/Marshall

  48. alaskanbronco06 says:

The Bears are also currently an their interview with Mike McCoy.

Bills hired the Syracuse head coach. Marrone.

Kelly is reportedly down to Oregon or Philly.

Browns are restarting their search as the two they hoped for most have a job.

Chargers are going to interview Bruce Ariens.

  49. Bronco_Turtle says:

    AB… Lakers/Nuggets tonight from Staples!!!

  50. alaskanbronco06 says:

Lol BT. Go Nuggets! I jumped of the Lakers bandwagon when they got Howard and not because I liked Bynum (Which I dont) just hate the fan base. One of the worst in all sports.
