There’s playoff football on television, and I’ll be like most of you these next couple days — I’m going to watch it all. It’s gonna be nice to enjoy the weekend and just be at home, watching football. It’s kind of like you wait for the playoffs and it’s a fun time of the year. It’s the tournament. It’s one-and-done. I’ll be at home enjoying the games, being on my iPad studying, figuring out who we’re going to play and getting ready.
As far as us not playing this week, I’m very glad we earned the bye week. The hard work we put in all year, it paid off. We haven’t lost focus at all. We put in some good work this week and we’re excited about the break, just to get mentally and physically rested to get ready for next week.
Enjoy the games. I’ll catch up with you next week when we’ll know who we’re playing.

Wore my Decker jersey to work this last Monday to celebrate the #1 seed. I’m thinking Cincy is coming to town. Show em what’s up Eric.
It’s nice to hear we have some smart players, staying home on their off time to study up and relax. MUCH better than a bunch of clowns partying it up, and losing focus.. I bet it will pay dividends! Let’s go Broncos!!!
I know the rest of you don’t care but supercross kicks off tomorrow night too. So stoked.
With you all the way dude!!! Be ready for whats a coming and Go Broncos!!
Go Deck. Go Bronc’s
Thanks for sharing Eric, we will be doing the same!
Would u trade for vick and get geno smith and try to do the smooth transition if u were the cheifs? or would you go straight for Geno and throw him in there like is done these days with QBs? Id do the former because this years draft class doesnt seem as impressive at QB. Not even sure Geno is worth 1 overall … id probably trade the pick if i didn’t need a QB. Speaking from a KC point of view … just theorizing.
Later days,
TRB
No, no and no. I would do what BT suggested and try to get Alex Smith. Then trade down from the #1 pick to acquire more draft picks. Geno Smith will go the way of Akili Smith. Vick is still under his $100 million contract and isn’t worth it at all. Use the picks to get a DT or DE or 2 in a deep class as well as a LB and WR. Try to come FA for best available talent.
Maybe grab Te’o if you think he is worth it.
Not sure what vicks payout next year is but u make a good point. However i don’t think he is as bad as that offensive line made him look. His first season starting coming straight out of prison has been more impressive that his recent body of work. Much more than vick wrong with Philly and Nick Foles darn near died when he started. I think vick would be worth it and and Geno Smith seems to be of the same make up. I know nothing of geno as i don’t watch college football too much but i watch enough to know that the draft class is kinda weak but then again the one su expect to succeed bust and the ones u expect to bust succeed … all too often. Alex smith might as well be leinart, brady quinn or even cassel to me. He don’t got the chops. He was just barely able to manage in SF with a clearly talented team that more or less carried him. KC has some solid pro bowlers but no where near the talent of KC …. If i were them id get vick and trade down … if they could find any prospects … not sure how many people are scrambling for the first pick to get Geno or who ever. I think they would be better suited with trading down and aquiring matt barkley (is that his name? ) later on since his stock has taken a hit.

RH, I read in the Denver Post a day or so ago about David Bruton loves being a Bronco and wants to come back next season. He says a loves it here. He’ll be re-signed it sounds like.
Chip Kelly close to deal with Browns … interesting … I cannot wait to see how that develops. Browns deserve at least one good season in my generation lol
TRB
Shoot…TRB The dogs don’t deserve nothin’….LOL (but it barely seems like the Brown’s have ever had a team…even in my generations—lol sometimes status quo is just fine!!!)
I’d like to see Vick taken as the starter in Jacksonville, with Tebow as his back-up. I’d like to see Urban Meyer come in as OC. I know, I know, I know…whatever…
TRB, Alex Smith is far and away better than Vick, Cassel, lienart or Quin. The WR core in SF is not that great either even if the OL and RBs are. Smith is accurate and plays it safe with the ball. He is a serious upgrade and is better than half the starters in the league. He might not have kaepernick arm strength but either do Manning or Tom Brady.
Hey RH – I put Alex Smith in the Kyle Orton category, with an edge in personality, charisma, and leadership. Only a slight edge and only in comparison to Orton. LOL
I argued that he was the emotional leader in SF and that it was a mistake to pull him mid-season. That should be true for a veteran QB. Apparently, Smith hardly left any vacuum in his wake…Niners apparently have a great team with a great foundation, and it isn’t about any QB’s in SF at this time.
Dont forget that Alex Smith actuslly has some mobility threat. Orton was accurate and played pretty well but the man is a statue.
I’ll give you that (some mobility)…but Orton was mobile compared to Rivers…it’s all perspective. Really where I see Orton and Smith as similar is in game management. They both have a veteran’s concept of what they want to see happen and they can usually mange it fairly well if they have an O-line. Get pressure on them and the ball is up for grabs. Smith looked good in SF because he had that o-line. Orton looked terrible in Den. because our fantastic o-line was a bunch of rookies at the time. Both Smith and Orton seem to be fairly slow in processing the changes in defensive attacks and both seem to not have the freedom to QB instinctively – like the great QB’s. Again slight advantage to Smith…with the admission that the game was happening to the Niners a little slower because of a solid front.
Cassel, Lienhart, Quinn…need to dig in someplace Kubiak style, and hang on…payday has gone and ain’t comin’ back!!!
I think Vick is still a viable starting QB. He is a fast thinker …his instincts are just defective…and it keeps getting him injured. I like Vick in front of Tebow so that they can develop a mature run and shoot/ wildcat / option game and learn behind a pro that understands him and that type of offense. Then when Vick goes down, as he surely will…
I was impressed with Vick the first year back too. I agree that his oline is causing his poor performance but he still isnt worth the money. I understand the Alex Smith and Orton comparison but Alex is a step ahead of Orton but they are similar type. Anyway, If I wear KC, that would be my game plan.
I would also hire someone to take care of clock management for Reid lol. Good coach, bad clock manager.
I think Reid’s problem is he is not that quick on his feet either….meaning mentally – at the end of games – with the clock running out…LOL
Bronco game plan = noise and confusion and no – huddle / 2 minute drill all the time!!!
This will be fun!
The way I figure it…Reid had the best assembly of talent to ever hit a football field…and he couldn’t handle it!!! Now he is working to forget his troubles…=no worries with KC for a few seasons!!!
RH – is your problem with Vick due to the fact that you like the conventional pocket passer? Are you one of those who believes that the ‘option’ QB can’t succeed in the NFL?
I was in this debate with an elderly, long term football fan, at church last Sunday. He considered that S. Young was not a modern QB. He thought that Newton and RGIII were short term experiments. He didn’t like Vick at all.
Just curious.
Reid is a good coach and great at assembling talent. He needs to pull a john fox and make sure he has an OC and DC.
BTW – I don’t think Vick is worth any $100 mil.
Reid was….
Reid has a kid who died of a drug OD. I takes years for a parent to desire to function after that. (Unless he is some sort of sociopath.) For most in these situations…getting through the day is a function of going through the motions.
Hey RH, I care , I’m stoked for the start of the supercross season.
Knew you were on my page 1972.
Not at all DB. I think the option can work but not as the primary offense. More along the lines of 12-18 plays a game. That is still a significant role in an offense. A full on option isnt really feasable, it fould get sniffed out and schemed against by an nfl defense.
The biggest thing for any play is not showing your hand pre-snap. Then its about execution. The standard read option as well as the pitch option are very simple, the goal is to always make the DE wrong. If the DE goes for the QB, you hand off and vice versa. If this was a dominate concept of the offense then it can be schemed against.
I didn’t even know that supercross had a season. ???
Deer / Bear / Bird Hunting seasons are over…fishing is no good till March…look out little piggies…you are the only legal meat!!! I’ve got to get unbusy!… Undistracted by Super Bowl runs….and get out into the deep woods!!! No motorcycles!!!
Supercross starts tomorrow in Angels stadium and has 17 rounds/races over the next 18 weeks. After SX season, motocross season will stat and run 14 rounds (two 30 minute moto in each round) over about 20 weeks and ending in sept. Then football starts.
Being an SX an SX fan fits perfect with being a football fan. Keep in mind I am talking the pro race series, us weekend riders can go to a track or on blm land and ride year round.
Have you ever ridden the track near the Antelope Valley fairgrounds?
It’s about 10 min. from my house.
Looks like a young mans sport. I don’t think I have the desire to expend that much energy into anything, anymore.
Feeling lazy in my old age! I’d rather walk in the serenity of the woods – alone – listening to the wind and the water….carrying my 7mm mag – just to irritate Dianne Feinstein!!! I’ll probably be packing my Dan Wesson .44 mag on my hip…and a .380 auto in my boot! LOL Makes me feel good to think about it.
Is that the moto 395?
I havent but there is a small chance I might get a job close to that area and if I do then I will be riding that track. Im from that area but never rode track growing up, jist desert.
No – it is called the AV Motoplex. I would gues that the Moto 395 is close to Hwy 395? That is a 45 min. from me because you can’t cut directly across the desert to get there.
I road in a BullTaco 125 race in Baja Mexico when I was a kid but shortly thereafter decided it wasn’t for me. A one time thing. Do you ever see any of those?
Here’s one for you youngsters!!!

decker is the man! and yeah supercross tonight at anaheim 1! pumped
DaddyBronc: Had a Bultaco lobito 125, My first real dirtbike, Got me started and still ride as much as I can .However at 59 years old my recovery time is longer.
DB there is a movie about baja called “dust to glory” its exalent.
Thanks for that link Daddy! I was in 8th grade when that game was played. I’ll never forget that day. Me & my 2 brothers were at our uncles house watching it.
Afterwards, my uncle made a comment about the night David Treadwell was going to have… I can’t repeat it here, it would surely be moderated. But at school the following week I repeated the comment to a couple of friends, apparently in earshot of a teacher because I received demerits & a trip to after school detention!
DB great link. I remember watching that from base housing at Naval Station Mayport FL. My wife at the time was pissed because she loved Warren Moon and Safety Bo Orlando. Never could convert her to a Bronco fan so she had to go…lol jk. One of the great Bronco memories for sure.
Decker… You are so awesome. Keep working hard and thanks for staying focused!!!
Lust under a hour before kickoff. So do we play Cincy? We’ll find out soon enough! Its time to ROCK N ROLL!!
BRONCOS 2013!! YEE HAW!!
I will watch all 4 games also. Go Broncos
Foster has really been the entire offense of the game so far.
The longer I watch this game the more I’m convinced if Houston wins they will be creamed in New-England and if Cinci wins we’ll cream them in Denver. Neither team can put it together in all phases of the game, it’s hard to watch, glad it’s a close game though, the one thing that makes it interesting.
I need some people to help me be ok with playing the Colts next week so I can be prepared when they win tomorrow.
I can’t deal with the circus and the story and Peyton pretending everything is ok. I’m not saying we lose because there’s no chance, but oh my gosh. I never thought this possible and I’m 100% not okay with it.
It hurts my heart and I am SUCH A GIRL!
If we play the Colts which I doubt since I pick Baltimore to win tomorrow, Manning would simply love to beat his old team that moved him out to go with Luck without thinking twice about it, so no biggie for anyone, except for the ones who are die hard fans of both teams haha. Sorry, you made your bed now you get to sleep in it, LOL.
Baltimore in Denver and all your problems vanish anyway…
And now my favorite kind of football, 16 degrees at Lambeau field, for real men only!
Never mind. I feel infinitely better when I think of that Bronco/Colt possible match up and a chance to get back at the Colts for all the times they beat us in the playoffs. I feel so much better.
ILMSDB!!!!
