I agree about the TE coverage issues, and I also think that Trevathan could help in that area, but as mentioned, it will be difficult to make proper substitutions when facing the hurry up..

P.S. This is a major part in how the Seahawks beat NE. The other part was the very very physical Seahawk defense.

sndvl, to address what you said in the previous blog.

By far the best way to counteract the NE extreme hurry up offense...get this...doesn't even involve the players on the field.
It is the twelve man. To run that extreme hurry up, Brady has to call everything from the line of scrimmage. The louder the crowd, the more difficult it is and that will slow them down.

I also suspect that BB has the answer to this, as he always seems to. The answer isn't difficult but it takes a lot of practice and the whole offense has to be on board. They would have to have made a set of hand signals or side line cue cards. The hand signals don't work for the Oline guys though, there will still need to be verbal communication to them.

Anyway. For all you in Denver that attend these games (I live in CA). Get loud, really loud and you can drastically change the way NE plays. More so than when playing a normal offense.

Thank you.
I think people don't realize how seamless this team can change from 4-3 to 3-4 to 3-3-5 (nickle).
What often looks like a 4-3 on third down is really a 3-4 with Miller at the line and rushing. Some will still calls this a 4-3 and claim all the guys on the line are rushing so it's a 4-3. In reality, the scheme is a 3-4 because of the way that Vick/Bannan and Wolfe/Unrein take on the guys/gaps in front of them.
