Sights Set High

December 22nd, 2012 - 10:41am by Von Miller

We cast our Pro Bowl ballots this week, which is something that I enjoy doing. It’s pretty cool to be able to vote for some of the guys who have performed well this season. We aren’t allowed to vote for our teammates, but we’ve played against a lot of top players at their position this year, so it wasn’t too hard.

It was great to get that honor last year as a rookie, but now we’re looking at stuff that’s bigger than the Pro Bowl – team victories and things like that. Pro Bowls are good, but we have our sights a little higher this year as a team.

Our next step is this Sunday against the Browns. They have a very talented running back in Trent Richardson. Stopping the run is always a goal of ours and it will be another difficult one this week. He’s a very good running back. It’s his first year in the league and he’s already in the upper class of running backs.

I played against Brandon Weeden in college and I remember him making all the throws and being a leader. That’s what it looks like he’s doing for the Browns this year.

We get to play our last two regular-season games at home and I’m pretty excited to come back in front of our fans. There’s no place like Sports Authority Field. It’ll be great to finish it out here.

Gig em!

    Lol RH…

Hey Turtle! Just relaxing. Trying to find out where I’m going to watch the game today. Bears will be showing at the 3 slot… And the place I usually go will be closing at 4:30 today for a Christmas Party.
Ironic how this was the game I was originally going to. But circumstances have led to me scrambling for a place to watch.
I suppose if all else fails, I can watch the 1st half and then listen to the 2nd half in my car on Sirius… Lol.
    How are things back home?

Just like we got sick of all the classless b.s. you relentlessly rubbed our noses in about Tebow after the playoff win last year. If you can’t take it you shouldn’t dish it out. And why mentioning me??? I wasn’t even the one who started saying all that, it was killer “If Elway’s statements are true……and I believe them to be…….Tebow made his own bed by choosing to go to the Jets instead of the Jags.” Get real and quit using me as your personal punching bag, can’t you tell we are improving our interacting a bit? Why even go there, and first thing early Sunday AM, my gosh, maybe you should go to church with cat this morning instead of feeling so ugly.

    GO BRONCOS!!!

No more early game in regular season, what a welcome change, my drinking can get back to normal, haha.

Things are real good here. Had to go to Wamsutter (what a beautiful place that is) for a funeral yesterday. It’s starting to look like winter a little in the high country so that is nice…

Hope you find a place to watch the game. When I use to travel back and fourth to C-Town I would go to a pool hall called “Fox and Hound” to catch the games! Girls are cute and it’s a nice place to catch a game (it segmented enough that usually in one of the side rooms you can even get the gamecast if there aren’t objections!) There are several locations so maybe that could be an option

  4. OTbroncos says:

Those are the facts BT. The Jets even balked at the money, and almost pulled out. Given their cap situation, there’s no way they offered more cash. The only arguement the Tebow camp has is at the time, Xanders was still here, and perhaps he read the “value chart” wrong…. LOL

  5. Bronco_Turtle says:

Bay… get over yourself! :) you can believe Elway ‘the Business Man’; and Speaking of Church, I will believe Tebow when he says he had no choice!!!

    Fair?

  6. Bronco_Turtle says:

I let it slide Friday when you jumped my case about something YOU misread… All I said was I’m sick of guys like you (self-centered egotists) bagging on Tebow… That’s all

    http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/story/_/id/8773675/tim-tebow-virtual-certainty-sign-jacksonville-jaguars-2013-according-sources

OT.. this says the Jags offered us 3m and we actually Paid the Jet’s 2.53m against to compensate what we had already paid Tebow. You get a little different story from every article. But like I said before, it really is no big deal. He’s gone and I really do wish him the best

  8. OTbroncos says:

I don’t put a lot of stock into what Mortenson says. How could he make a typo like this.. Why would the Broncos pay the Jets $2.53M, half of what was already advanced to Tebow by the Broncos?

“The Jets gave up fourth- and sixth-round draft choices to Denver and received a seventh-rounder in return from the Broncos when Tebow chose New York. The Broncos also agreed to pay the Jets $2.53 million, or about half of what had been advanced to Tebow.”

    I agree, it’s a moot point..

  9. alex4serg says:

whats all this t2 garbage? tebow time is over and done with. thanks for the memories.

we got the sherrif now. pfm! and we are about 4 hours away from what should be another convincing win

  10. alex4serg says:

go broncos. peyton von wolfendoom. i like the sound of that

  11. alex4serg says:

hoping to see another big day from moreno. i wonder if he can break 200 yards from scrimmage

  12. Orange_Crusher says:

    Well Happy Game day Broncos!!!!!!

  13. alex4serg says:

    happy game day!!

  14. wolfedom says:

Just the mention of his name causes a riff. When I heard he was leaving I was “so excited” just thinking I wouldn’t hear this stuff again.
I wish him the best just as long as it’s not here.

  15. tlcat06 says:

RH I’m from 1983 too which is why I said it! Lol

  16. Orange_Crusher says:

I can say one thing though… Elway is not a liar! Those are not good things to read on game day morning when we are staring at a great playoff run to come!

What is wrong with you dude, why do you have to go there on game day? I think you probable became a Bronco fan when Tebow joined and now after he’s gone you come on here and tell us that the greatest person in Broncos history is a liar because YOU don’t want to believe that your precious little Timmy didn’t choose the Jets and put himself in his own situation… C’MON MAN! You’re pathetic…. Grow a pair and follow Tebow where ever he goes but don’t come on here on GAME DAY and call John Elway a liar!!!!

You really pee’d me off on my best day of the week and I come here to get good news and good info and good vibes and you don’t have any of that…

Go back into your shell Turtle Boy! Or grow a pair and follow your disciple to the Jacksonville blog….

  17. Orange_Crusher says:

To all the other bloggers, I apologize for cutting loose in my comments above but I am just so tired of hearing the Tebow apologists constant ranting. I guess saying Elway is not honest just set me off a little…..

  18. alex4serg says:

hoping our entire Dline has a big day

  19. alex4serg says:

stuffing gap. making stop. pushing guys around. making life miserable for the browns all day.

here we go broncos. here we go

  20. alex4serg says:

    forgot some “S”s. whoops

  21. alex4serg says:

who else is fired up to watch some BRONCOS FOOTBALL???????????????

  22. baylinorcrush says:

Thanks OC, that summed up perfectly how I felt, but I moved on, he is just a little speed bump in my rear view mirror now.

    GO BRONCOS!!!!

My feeling for the score today are the number 3 and 1 and in reverse if anyone can figure that one out.

  23. strandoftds82 says:

CAT, HAVE A BLAST!!! AND HERE’S TO ORANGE SUNSETS!!!!! GO BRONCOS 2012!!!!

  24. OTbroncos says:

OC – if it makes you feel better, I called into a radio show out here, and pleaded my case for John Elway to be the NFL executive of the year. I know media members listen, as Phil Simms, jay Glazer, Troy Aikman among others call into the same show. I don’t know who votes for executive of the year, but I know the host has a HOF vote.

Btw, Simms picked the Broncos, when asked which AFC team was best equipped to make it to the Super Bowl. He cited our defense being able to force early 3 and outs, as his reasoning, beyond the obvious Peyton Manning.

  25. tlcat06 says:

OC I get riled when people call Elway a liar too… Thanks for freeing yourself of all that!!! I was mad when I read that too.

Strand we are on the way! I’m so excited! Talk to you guys later!!!

  26. strandoftds82 says:

Bay, if I was in Tim Tebow’s shoes, I would have chosen the Jacksonville Jaguars hands down this year. Those Fans love him there. Poor decision by him going to N.Y. So I agree with you on that matter.

  27. strandoftds82 says:

    I’m predicting a blow out!

  28. alex4serg says:

    31-13?

    nice little riddle

  29. baylinorcrush says:

Alex, let me tell you how exciting it gets for me. Sportsbar has all the games on minimum 50″ screens up to the newest 90″, all the tables and bar stools have individual sound boxes where you can dial the game you want on it. For now 4 or 5 years three of us have gone to the same bar for every game, and there is about three new guys this year, all of us wearing jerseys and stuff and we all go crazy. Dave even has an artificial leg and he keeps taking it out and brandishes it to the crowd because it has all types of Broncos stuff on it. That’s the kind of Bronco fans we are down here in Texas. Took pics of them a couple weeks ago for my Bronco album. It doesn’t get any better than that. Plus Ziegen Bock pints for $2.00 each (an only for Texas dark lager beer made by Budweiser). Anyone can top that?

  30. alex4serg says:

    /drool

    that sounds awesome

  31. killerkod says:

    Morning Gang………IT’s GAMEDAY!

Here’s to a massive Broncos victory and AP running all over the Texans for a win! We can still get the #1 seed, which is remarkable! We just need to take care of business and possibly some “Luck” next week! haha Oh, I wish we could re-do that Texans game…..oh well, it is what it is and we’re still in an amazing position heading into the playoffs.

My wife says this has been the best season she’s seen since we’ve been together….and she’s talking about being around me……..she says I’ve been enjoying the games more, cussing less, screaming in a good way more, and just all around a happier guy on Sundays. LOL

  32. baylinorcrush says:

And the manager is a big Raider fan, that even makes it better, but he is a real nice guy, an oxymoron if I ever saw one, LOL.

  33. baylinorcrush says:

Time to prep, plus I got one more x-mas present to buy. ENJOY you all!

  34. killerkod says:

maybe you need to buy the manager a beer bay………he must be feeling pretty low about his team this year. Or maybe he needs some hard stuff. Actually, nothing can ease the pain of what it is to be a Raiders fan this year! hahaha

  35. baylinorcrush says:

Actually he is really happy for us and wants us to win it all for the AFC West, that’s the kind of guy he is, plus savvy business man, haha.

  36. RH709 says:

Cat. us 29 year olds are from a good year. wasnt it the year Elway became a Bronco?

  37. killerkod says:

    hahahaha bay!

Well enjoy the game man and I’ll catch up with you later.

  38. FTR says:

Game Day!! Broncos will stay with one game at a time. I see no let down. A lot of our players have play off experience and will be reminding the young players on how to stay focused.
Here is the last post I will ever say about Tim Tebow, he has left the building but not the Broncos blog. It’s like a big skin tag that will not go away!! Cut it off and it grows back. I think it’s just bad to bring him up. Too many strong feelings Pro and Con!! IMO.
Any way excited for game today. I have to record and watch tonight as will be with Grand Kids enjoying X-mas together. Lots of little Bronco Shirts to be given out! Always said we grow Bronco Fans at the FTR house. I want to wish everyone a Happy and safe holiday season.

It’s been an awesome and exciting season, time flys when you are having fun. Watching Denver this season was a blast, as always Im a true orange and blue fan from day one. We moved from Denver when I was 5yrs old and along with move was my now sons and now my daughters old school sweat shirt. I wore it my kids wore it and I hope my grand kids can continue on. Although Los Angeles had been my home for many years, Denver Colorado and the always Denver Broncos is where my heart will always be. Don…

  41. Bronco_Turtle says:

OC… Happy Gameday Bro! I never called anyone a liar… those are your words…

I simply said ‘You believe Elway ‘the Business Man’ and I will believe Tebow… Don’t get yourself fired up over your own words. I promise I bleed Orange and Blue, and what is really insulting is your type implying no one could be a True Bronco Fan and Support Tebow…

Just another great example of why you two are pee’s in pod!!! You guys keep your high oppinions of yourselfs and I’ll keep Screaming

    B-R-O-N-C-O-S BRONCOS BRONCOS BRONCOS!!!

  48. Bronco_Turtle says:

Anybody watching the Texans/Vikings? Houston is not looking like a good football team today! I think the Brian Cushing injury was more harmful to that defense than they let on… they just aren’t the same

    Go Vikes!!

  50. Bronco_Turtle says:
