Ready for a Monday Night Showdown

October 13th, 2012 - 3:43pm by Von Miller

This is a huge game, especially coming off a loss last week. You definitely want to win all your division games. It’s tough, but we definitely want to get ourselves in a tie for first place with a win in our division to give us a better chance to go to the playoffs.

All weeks are important, but this week is definitely important because we don’t want to go to the bye week with a bad taste in our mouth.

It’s always a challenge going against the Chargers. We won one last year and they won one. I’m sure we’re going to go in there and they’re going to try their best to beat us.

Being a divisional opponent, we’re pretty familiar with them and in turn, they’re pretty familiar with us. It’ll be a good game. We’ve had another good week of preparation and hopefully we can get it done on Monday.

I love playing on Monday Night. It’s the only game on. I used to watch Monday Night Football when I was a kid, so playing on it is a dream come true.

Gig em!

    Psssstttt I’m BACK!!!!!

  3. ScalptheChiefs says:

Welcome back cat! Are these blogs dead or am I not getting the posts? A lot of blogs have been empty and the last time I tried to post nothing came up?

  4. wolfedom says:

I think the blog was down yesterday as I had the same problem. I was just going to guess what the other initials were about Cat. I guess you got it fixed. I thought maybe you were banned over some of your typos.LOL

huge game tied with the tie breaker, or two games back. Monday night on the road at a bitter rival. this game could. very well determine the afc west crown.

stage is set for an epic battle

  6. alex4serg says:

boy this blog was way more active last year. perhaps with pfm at the helm there is simply less to tallk about. the team is awesome, with moore gettig better and wofe living up to his draft status.

we should win this game and few fans would take exception with the direction the team is following.

tebow’s anomolous performance simply provided more to talk about.

  7. LPCat06 says:

I don’t know what happened, hence I made LPCat06 because I couldn’t post for a week. I felt bad because I was pretty sure Turtle and DB thought I was avoiding talking about losing to the Patriots, when in all reality, I couldn’t even post at all!

  8. tlcat06 says:

Now it’s letting me post as this handle though.

  9. tlcat06 says:

LOL Wolfe, the LP stands for Lose Pretty. (; LBF gets it. I’ll explain if you’d like.

  10. baylinorcrush says:

Controversy brings folks in, McD turned out being a huge controversy and the blog was jumping with participation for the two years he was here, then Tebow kept it just as lively with the unbelievable number of supporters he brought in with him, just look at his jersey sales, they were phenomenal and unmatched.

Now it’s gone more like business as usual, like it or not, no major controversy, no divine intervention, just the business of trying to win football games, and unless we do that plenty, so far it is not enough to get as many folks excited and participating, that’s one part of it.

But also look at what the blog world is in many instances. A boat load of folks got really tired of arguing or simply hearing heated discussions here fueled by a few totally out of their freaking mind heartless folks just babbling away with the sole purpose of hurting others, even got Coop to call it sayonara, that should say it all and that’s the real sad part. A few ruining it for so many… Blogging can be great but some use it as a deadly weapon to humiliate others solely because they would never be able to do it in real life. In the wrong hands blogging is basically a coward’s best friend. I’m not specifically talking here now, but in the recent past for sure (look at how ugly and demeaning the attacks were on Coop). And so many blogs out there are simply sick. Oh well, each generation needs to learn how to use their new toys…

  11. tlcat06 says:

So, Bay… It’s okay for you to come on here and say what you just said? Really? Wow!!!!! It is pretty demeaning that you take your time to say a “few ruining it for everybody” when what you said right there is pretty rude in itself. I like a little controversy in my life and I’ve enjoyed arguing with people on here. Most of the time it’s in jest anyways, but you wouldn’t know that because you just magically reappeared for the start of the season. I’ve had plenty of heated conversations on here with multiple people, but they’ve challenged me to learn more about Peyton Manning. They’ve challenged me and helped me to become a better Bronco fan. I like and respect everybody on here, but we don’t always agree. That’s the best part about being an American. I’m not going to stand by though and watch other people attack my friends. I’m standing up for them and I disagree with your assessment of my friends. You have said quite a bit of rude and demeaning stuff on here yourself.

  12. alex4serg says:

.tlcat, nothing bay just posted was wrong. contoverry has fueled this blog for a while, and we had quite a few trolls. bay didn’t really call anyone out though, and neither will I, but it wold be a lie to say that there haven’t been certain people on this blog over the past few years that posted merely to get others riled up, and that some bloggers haven’t gotten burned out on that.

  13. tlcat06 says:

Alex I understand I haven’t been here that long but I have seen Bay put people down for their ideas plenty of times. I’m not saying there aren’t trolls and some of you probably think I am one but it’s tough for me to see him say what he said when he makes some people on here feel belittled.

  14. tlcat06 says:

But maybe I should just never stand up to anybody or just learn to control my tongue.

  15. alex4serg says:

feel free to state your opinion. if there is some other blogger that you hate ignore them like I do (you know who you are). but avoid name calling, personal vendettas and intentional provocation.

  16. WieminCA says:

Reminds me of the story of the marriage counselor who first heard the wife’s side of it, and responded “That’s right” … then the husband gave his side, and the counselor again said “That’s right” … husband and wife responded “We can’t both be right”, and, of course. the counselor said “That’s right” …

  17. alex4serg says:

bay can rub people the wrong way, but he really isn’t one of these people that escalate just for the fun of it.

  18. alex4serg says:

    lol. that’s right

  19. WieminCA says:

By the way – they finally cleared the game to be telecast out here … the Chargers had included this game with a couple of losers (including pre-season games) in a package and hadn’t sold out … my understanding is they went to single game sales for the last 3000 tickets and sold them in time … that would have been a real BUMMER if we hadn’t been able to watch on Monday night … I’m very primed … it should be a doozy of a game … I have no idea what the score will be, and I’m tired of missing so bad on my guesses for the contest … so – I’m not going to make a fool of myself this week …

  20. wolfedom says:

Oh come on Wiemin, don’t leave me by my self. I have never had a point in three years of guessing, although I almost made the wall of shame once.

  21. sndvl says:

    McD.
    Orton.
    Tebow.

Lol… I’m still here. On a regular basis.

    *Official Score Prediction*

    Den- 30
    SD- 16

  22. sndvl says:

    BTW,

Von Miller. You are a beast. Love watching you work.
The irony is (for me), if it wasn’t for McD, you’d not be here, DOMINATING…

    Broncos Country Strong 2012!!

  23. BRONCOSONMINE says:

    GIG EM LESSGO BRONCOS

  24. DaddyBronc says:

Wiemin – wasn’t that a scene from Fiddler on the Roof?

Bay – I think the controversy definitely brings folks in, but I’d also say for myself that I’m bored with the team at this particular time.
It also bugs me that others don’t see what I see as well. For example: What I saw against the Patriots is that Brady’s success came as a result of lost containment primarily on Miller’s edge. Yet, Miller gets all the love around here. Brady just played with him. It gets old. Then Mays gets slammed because he is being called on to be both DT (because of abject failure of the line) and safety. We still have smart guys wanting DJ Williams back. (Such an idea ranks up there with signing TO or Ocho with me.) The continued calls for Moore’s head also bugs me. He’s likely the most improved Bronco on the year thus far. I think a lot of fans see a single play and form opinions and they seem unable to see a body of work through a game or a season.
Anyhow, it gets old trying to explain the game.
Biggest reason for not making the blog a daily habit is that you are not here with your collection of game evaluations and ‘write ups’ and articles from everyone I want to hear from. I apologize to you on my own behalf for how much I took your work for granted. I apologize to you on behalf of others who think they know you. I’m certain our football philosophies differ greatly, no matter, you are welcome to begin posting again – just for fun!!!

This Monday Night Showdown is going to be great. Denver has been really good with Peyton running the offense. If the wide outs and everyone else would stop dropping balls Denver would be a tough team to beat. They already are! Denver’s D has got to stop Rivers on 3rd and long. I believe this is the game thats going to tell us if Denver has what it takes. Denver had New England even though the defense could not stop the run. This game will not be about Peyton and the offense but all about the DEFENSE. Denver’s offense can score with anybody its the defense thats hurting them. Im gonna say this will be a 10 point Denver win if the defense can make Rivers throw quick and early. Denver is gonna surprise a lot of people but I want be one of them, cause I already know the road to the super bowl is on a BRONCO……………… Denver 34 SD 24!!!!!

  26. DaddyBronc says:

Mr. Miller – I know that you are an exceptional pass rusher and I too love to see you go to work on a QB. God has blessed you with an amazing ability to contort your body, and you are amazing and fun to watch. The above comments are to be taken as an observation that the holes in the defensive line can be handled in many ways, but lost containment is resulting in a ton of 6+ yard rushes, and a ton of short, screen plays and easy passes.

  27. Bronco_Turtle says:

VON MILLER!!! THANK YOU… You are the MAN!!!

Most fans are sick of mediocrity… Most fans are sick of hearing people say things like Dynasty and Superbowl because we paid 15% of our Salary Cap to one player… Most fans are sick of the ‘It’s OK, we only lost to ‘ELITE’ teams argument’ because those are the ones we have to beat to win a Championship…

But most of all fans are sick here of hearing one guy pretend like he is the only one that has a relevant oppinion (and Oddly enough there are two of those here now)… the blog stayed busy during the offseason and has only died in recent weeks because for the most part it’s the same old has beens saying the same old crap… Our team is not very good right now, and when being told that we have no ‘Plan B’ and then getting run off the field in 3 of our first 5 games you can’t blame people for no longer feeling excited about the team or the Blog…

Peace!!! DB, I will send you some pictures of the Elk we got yesterday!!!

  28. baylinorcrush says:

Thanks daddy and alex, I remember you two going into heavy discussions all night in the past, things have a way of changing. And I won’t be able to oblige you daddy since the only reason I’m having fun with the blog again is exactly because I don’t do it 24/7 any longer, rather just plug in a thought now and then and while it may rile up some and please others, the main thing is it makes it fun for me, happy times. You all enjoy how you need to, GO BRONCOS! Love you Coop!

  29. tlcat06 says:

“@MikeKlis: Expect Keith Brooking to replace Joe Mays as Broncos’ starting MLB for game Monday night at San Diego.”

  30. tlcat06 says:

BT I am going to remind you that although we paid 15% of our salay cap to one player as you say, we still have plenty of room in our salary cap fir some good players if it were tocome to that. And if we do get rid of DJ Williams that will eventually free up more of it. Some of us fans who don’t mind Losing Pretty are tired of you blaming our losses on the one person. Who is making it possible for us to stay in games. That guy who is making 18 million dollars this year. Oh and forgetting who HE brought in just by his mere presence this off season. I am plenty excited for the team. Much more so than I was last season when we were winning ugly. If what you sat is true BT that no one is interested because they’re not excited hen I don’t understand how three of our football games are the most watched ones of the season.

Good idea Alex. I’ll work on that ignoring piece.

  32. Orange_Crusher says:

Aaaah bay, you certainly have a way with women………LMFAO!!!!

  33. OrangeTsunami says:

He’s something to lighten the mood. I have no doubt that Von was just joking around with his first two dances, and I for one loved them both and almost fell out of my seat when I saw them! LOL!

  34. baylinorcrush says:

LOL OC, you may have something there, seems as if I rile up folks who run high on emotions and since it can be argued the majority of women are more emotional than men, there you go. But shaztah loved me, and so does my wife I think, LMAO! But shaztah is gone too…

  35. tlcat06 says:

I am quite emotional. Sorry Bay. I had just watched Argo and just come back from our school Denver Aquarium sleepover where two of my parent drivers got their windows busted out. I was emotional last night.

  36. FTR says:

    Broncos Country:
Something has been up with the site since Friday night. Let you type but not post!! I am hoping Manning will put a sock in Rivers mouth. We need to win out the division and the rest of our home games. I hope Chris Kuper returns we need him and his leadership. Here is a little motivation (as if we need any). Some off the big losses:
    Broncos vs. Chargers
    Dec. 28, 2008 Chargers 52, Broncos 21
    Oct. 7, 2007 Chargers 41, Broncos 3
    Dec. 10, 2006 Chargers 48, Broncos 20
Back in the good ol days with Elway most games were always close and low scoring among the AFC West. Like 10-3. 13-10.
    GO BRONCOS
    ILMSDB!!!
    FTR

  37. tlcat06 says:

And I don’t want to be someone everyone hates so I will try to keep my emotions in check.

  38. RH709 says:

    Brooking over Mays….called it.

  39. baylinorcrush says:

That’s ok cat, we all do the best we can with who we are, I included, and last evening I just got out of the hospital for two days of tests for a heart condition, so life is only as rosy as we each see it at the moment. So alex saying how slow things have been here lately brought to my mind the thoughts I posted, that’s all it was, no malicious anything intended as alex said, I pretty much always call it as I see it without letting my emotions take over, probably seems cold to many, but that’s who I am.

  40. imready says:

For whatever reason, most of football fans immediately find fault in players when a team doesn’t perform as well as expected. My biggest concern with this team is the coach decision making, not the play of the personal. Red flags not thrown on questionable plays that could have swayed the out of games and probably even more important, not calling time outs when the play on the field requires a change of tactics. Think about the 3rd and four against the Pat’s. If there was any question about the distance or the play call, why not use a time out? It certainly was an important point in the game and could possibly have change the outcome. What about when the defense was being run over by the Pat’s ultra fast no huddle, why no time out when they were just rolling down the field and the defense was obviously confused and stuck with Von Miller off the field? To a certain point I can understand trying to save time outs but these were critical points in the game. Many you don’t don’t need a time out in the final two minutes if you take them when needed and put your team in the drivers seat. From what I remember, in most of the loses this season, those last time outs have been used in fruitless attempts to leave some time on the clock for last minute heroics. I’m not into that strategy any more. Hopefully we see an improvement from the sidelines the rest of season. These are well experienced coaches and there is no excuse for these poor decisions on time out usage. The most important plays of a game don’t just happen in the last 2 minutes.

Cat, hope you figured out by now you were suspended, that’s why you couldn’t post you naughty girl. Been there, done that.

  41. imready says:

Bay, I don’t think you having your own opinion has ever really bothered anyone, it’s been your condemnation of others with different opinions than your own that has riled up some bloggers. Hope your health improves and they find an easy way to mend whatever ails you.

  42. RH709 says:

broncos got manhandled by an extremely tough Patriots team. In finding their way they also fell behind to the Texans and Falcons. 2-3 is not a big deal and with the talent this team has shown I have no doubt that they will destroy Rivers and the Chargers.

I still have confidence in a 10 win season and winning the AFC West.

  43. raidrhadr says:

Not sure if Klis is right but I think if Mays does not play better we will see him get benched. I said it earlier this week. Mays is not getting to the right gaps and he just stood there when all the world knew that Brady was going to sneak it in. He stood there and watched!!! That infuriated me. I don’t think enough is being said about Dumervil’s performance so far either. I think we pretty much all agreed that Champ and Von are the ones playing the best right now. The rest need to step it up.

I hope Kuper is back soon too. Ramirez and Franklin are getting banged up. I’ve seen them both hobbled in the past couple of weeks. All that said I still think we go into SD and hand them an a$$ whoopin’.

  44. strandoftds82 says:

Welcome back Ticat, glad you got your handle back. Tap your cleats 3 times!! HaHa!!

  45. tlcat06 says:

Imready, I probably was suspended. Apparently I’m an outrageous crazy jerk.

  46. strandoftds82 says:

    LOL

  47. tlcat06 says:

And the coaching is driving me crazy, too Imready. We should’ve replaced Mays with Brooking the second half of last weeks game and they didn’t do it. No reason to wait. We are running out of time to wait on decisions like that.

  48. strandoftds82 says:

Might as well start Danny Trevathan. We could be better off!

  49. tlcat06 says:

I hope you feel better soon, Bay. That doesn’t sound like fun.

  50. RH709 says:

Brooking may have gotten a mild concusion during the third quarter last week.

In reality this defense has played very well against some tough offenses. Rahim Moore has been solid, still haas some things to learn but done very well. Miller would be the top spot for DPOY if it wasnt for JJ Watt. Bailey and Porter are holding it down against some top notch recievers. MLB is the question mark of this defense and it will be till the offseason.
