There is no sugarcoating this one. The Broncos’ 30-23 loss to the Bills on Sunday was as tough as they come. Everything was right there for the taking: an AFC West title, a playoff berth and a home game in the first round of the playoffs.
But the Broncos stumbled against a team that entered the game with a 6-8 record, had lost seven of its last eight games and was out of the playoff race.
In many ways, the loss to the Bills was the season in microcosm.
– Denver jumped out to a 13-0 lead but it could have been bigger than that. Twice the Broncos settled for field goals after getting deep into Buffalo territory. By the end of the game, the Broncos scored two touchdowns and two field goals in six trips inside the Bills’ twenty yard line. As several players said after the game, that isn’t good enough.
– The Broncos committed two costly turnovers. One came on a Brandon Marshall fumble, the other when Kawika Mitchell intercepted Cutler at the Buffalo two yard line as Denver was trying to tie the game.
– The Broncos’ gave up valuable field position to the Bills, especially on kickoff coverage. After tying the game at 23 on Matt Prater’s 43 yard field goal with 11:03 left in the game, the Broncos’ let Fred Jackson get loose for a 30 yard kickoff return that set the Bills up at the Broncos’ 45 yard line. Four plays later, Jackson scored what turned out to be the go-ahead touchdown on an 8-yard run.
– Once the Bills got going, the Broncos’s defense could not stop them. Buffalo scored on six consecutive possessions to make that 13-0 deficit seem like ancient history.
– The Broncos were statistically superior to the Bills, outgaining them 532 yards to 275. But the turnovers and poor special teams coverage rendered that advantage meaningless.
At this point in the season, it’s simply about winning. That’s all. The Broncos could not do that at home against a sub-.500 team on Sunday. Everything was right there for the taking.
Now, they have the unenviable task of going on the road to face a rejuvenated Chargers’ team that trampled the Buccaneers with 21 fourth quarter points in a 41-24 victory.
The two teams will wage their battle for the AFC West title in front of a national television audience on NBC’s Sunday Night Football.
It is all still right there for the taking. But now the taking will be much more difficult. There is no way to sugar coat that.
What are your thoughts about the Broncos-Chargers game? Can the Broncos go to San Diego and get it done? As always, thanks for reading and sharing your posts.
Have a great week and a blessed Christmas/Holiday week.
Sincerely,
Mike

HE double hockey sticks no they can’t and won’t this team is a bunch of talkers not players
GO figure you dont want me blogging anymore don’t want negative criticism on a fan sight do we guys. Whats the matter players can’t handle it are they too soft for it or are they men who get payed to play and don’t even do that very well
Well, SD and their fans are getting overly confident that they’ve got this next game in the bag (many saying that they’re going to win by at least 3 TDs in the blowout on their message boards). So, like in several other games, the Broncos need to motivate themselves and just go out a play without mistakes and we’ll get the upset. SD is on a roll, winning 3 straight (one of them a gift from KC) and we have lost twice. We have no good back (Pope is probably out with the hamstring) while their running game is improving. Hopefully, our Defense comes up with several turnovers and can limit their offense, something we haven’t done to any Offense all year, and we have to stop their return game with Sproles (and if we don’t, a draft pick in the mid-teens is in our future). So, we do have a tough task ahead of us but I believe in this young team. GO BRONCOS!
Well it been real and its been nice BUT it hasn’t been real nice and now I can see the fat lady warming up her vocal cords and she is ready to let it rip. Yes now I can say it, IT IS OVER. This team has no heart and no hunger, all we can hope for is some kind of miracle and as we all know miracles do happen. GO BRONCOS!
Mike, you nailed it right on with your post. The Broncos squandered a golden opportunity to win the division and keep the hated San Diego Chargers from having another division title and automatic home playoff game. The Broncos don’t have a killer instinct, their special teams is horrendous and their defense is way too inconsistent. I thought Jay Cutler played decently, but for the Broncos to win most games, he has to play through the roof week in and week out. Is it fair to put so much on the shoulders of one player especially a young quarterback trying to live up to the high standards John Elway set and that Broncos fans have? Probably not, but that’s the truth. If Cutler had a dependable running game, a defense that could hold its own and a special teams that didn’t give away field position, Cutler would have a much larger margin of error. Look at Matt Ryan in Atlanta, Joe Flacco in Baltimore or Eli Manning. Those guys don’t have to play perfectly each week because their teams play sound defense and special teams in addition to having a running game that can control the clock and eat up yards. That takes a lot of pressure of a quarterback and leads an offense to more touchdowns than field goals.
A Broncos win yesterday would have been paramount. The Chargers would have had serious question marks heading into next season while Denver would be feeling good considering how many injuries they had this season coupled with the youth movement Denver underwent. Now, the Chargers get their revenge game following Week 2′s controversy at home for all the marbles. I love the Broncos as much as anyone, but I just don’t see Denver winning that game. However, this season has shown that Denver plays its best when no one gives them a shot, e.g. @ Atlanta and @ the Jets. However, I think San Diego has found its groove when desperation set in and they smell blood. P. Rivers is playing out of his head and San Diego’s defense is starting to make more plays. Further, if San Diego wins, they play Indianapolis at home. Despite how well Indy has been the past eight weeks, San Diego always plays Indianapolis well including last year when they went on the road and won at Indy in an AFC divisional playoff game. You know the Colts are pulling for the Broncos considering how well they have played Denver in games that matter whether in Indy or Denver.
In conclusion, my honest opinion is it should have never come down to this game for the Broncos. There is no excuse for the loss at Kansas City, the losses at home to Jacksonville, Oakland and Buffalo. Now, I and all of Bronco Nation hopes for a belated Christmas presented and that Denver can give us one more surprise with an upset win to cap off the 2008 NFL regular season.
MAN, WE REALLY DO SUCK!!!!!!!
What was Woodyard doing on the bench again?
When you lose the turnover margin, you dont run the ball, and you give up rushing yards on defense – YOU LOSE!! Plain and simple. Cutler lights it up every week and he still has to come in and try to force the ball to receivers to give us a chance. Im not making excuses for his many inexcusible interceptions but you have to feel for a guy in that position. The coaching was poor in the 2nd half – we completely abandoned the run putting all the pressure on Cutler. Special teams was Pathetic (once again poor coaching). The defense was inconsistent as always and once again put on a clinic on how not to tackle the ball carrier. The bottom line is this team has no fight, hunger, urgency, or whatever you want to call it. We dont win the games we are supposed to and we win the games that no one gives us a chance to. Unfortunately this week we are the underdog going in to a very hostile environment. Those damn chargers (who i have no respect for) are gonna bring there a-game for sure and if we dont run the ball well and get turnovers, once again it will be a replay of all our other losses but this one could be lopsided. I hate Rivers and that whole crybaby organization and it just frustrates me to give them a chance. Shanny, Good Luck! were gonna need it!
I agree, why was Woodyard sitting?
Just wanted to offer my opinion from the last several weeks:
The negatives:
Shanahan – he seems really tired and perhaps unmotivated? I know that Bates is calling more plays this year, but it seems that the overall team decision making is not great.
B-Marsh – he seems to play like he’s entitled to something. He thinks that since he’s big and talented that defenses should automatically let him run free. Sure, his numbers are ok, but think of what they could be if he actually held on to the ball and really turned it on every play?
The Running Backs – all voodoo speculation aside, what is the deal? Either the trainers are not doing their job, or these guys just don’t want to play! What happened to playing a little hurt? Anybody remember T.D. winning a super bowl with a migraine or even Griese playing with a dislocated shoulder? Perhaps they all need to grow a pair.
Dré Bly – Overrated and over paid. I understand that his position is one of the hardest to play (especially with the level of talent at the WR position in the league today), but watching him try and keep up with Steve Smith was laughable. Champ can only do so much teaching before this guy has to go.
Cutler – Ok, he’s got a rocket launcher of an arm, but his leadership qualities seem to be lacking. In giving up against Carolina and choking when the team needed him to take charge and make a play, Jay still has a lot of growing up to do. I still think he’s the future of the team, but he needs a kick in the pants (or an afternoon with Tim Tebow).
THE POSITIVES!
Eddie Royal – if everyone on the team played with his amount of heart and desire, then we’d have the division title in hand. He takes a pounding and keeps on going. He doesn’t argue with the refs; he just does his job.
The Tight-Ends – Way to go Sheffler and Graham. These workhorses are silently rocking the house.
The O-line – With Clady and Harris having pro-bowl type seasons, this group is grossly under-appreciated.
Wesley Woodyard – why is this guy not playing every down?
That’s it y’all.
Here are my keys to victory vs the chargers
The O
1. Get off to a quick start
2. Touchdowns not field goals
3. Establish some sort of run so play action is affective
4. NO TURNOVERS
5. Control the clock
The D
1. Play gates like we played gonzalez
2. Pressure Rivers
3. Gap control
4. 3 and Outs win field position
5. Stop Sproles on kickoffs and when hes on offence
AND ABOVE ALL THE MOST IMPORTANT THING WE HAVE TO HAVE THE HEART,PASSION,AND WILL THE WIN. MATCH THEIR INTENSITY AND DOMINATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why was A. Pinnock a scratch!? Why does N. koutouvides even have a roster spot!? Why didn’t The Broncos just kick the ball out of pounds on kick off’s and take the penalty the bills started most of thier drives at thier 45 or better anyway!? Why has the Offensive Coardinator decided to use the shotgun every down when P.Pope went down!? Why did he empty the backfield every down!? Why not put B. Marshall back there if your going to do that!? Why ask any more question!?
It’s amazeing The Broncos actually controlled the TIME OF POSSESSION in this game 26:49 33:11 but it’s easy to see why they lost. No active Fullback in the game limits your choices in O formations. When PJ Pope went down the O Coardinator panniced and could’nt be creative enough to call a good running play without a FB. Hell I saw only one play with a player in a FB position and it was Scheffler, why Scheff I don’t know but I think his game plan stunk! The only reason The Broncos won the TIME OF POSSESSION was that they Dominated the first qtr. 12:08 2:52 When they ran the ball on first down. When your QB has the most carries out of all your backs the scheme is wrong! FIX IT!
I have so much more to say but it does’nt even matter no one on the Coaching staff listens so I will keep it short.(Frustrated at the Offensive scheme) One more game Men, get it right like Broncos or go home with your tails between your legs like pony’s, I don’t want it to be Avalanche season just yet.
TIME OF POSSESSION! ! !
GO BRONCOS! ! !
My key for a “W” is go for it on 4th down when in the opponents territory. We need touchdowns not field goals to win this weeks matchup. While 3 points are nice Prater has played just as inconsistent as the rest of the team. Also I know Cutler hates Rivers, but there is time and place for that and that’s on the scoreboard. Cutler is going to have to want to beat Rivers on the field for the benefit of the team not for his own personal reasons. I sure hope this game doesn’t come down to a Denver field goal or a blown call.
Go Broncos!!
One more little thing if the Scheme is FLAWED it doesn’t matter how huch Heart the players have it’s still FLAWED!
RSH, All of your Blogs are off the chart, you hit the nail on the head everytime you write, Awesome I Love your Blogs, Tell It Like It Is!
Yesterdays game ticked me off…… How do we start of so hot with a 13-0 lead and blow that? We truly arent a 2nd and 3rd quarter team. If we wanna make the playoffs and contend for a super bowl, you have to play every minute and every down at your best. Your not gonna make it off of hot starts or 4th quarter comebacks,
Lastly, Woodyard deserved more playing time than he got. Why take out a fired up rookie who has impressed everyone since he got the starting job?
This coaching staff amazes me with their stupidity sometimes….
nate webster is a joke as a mlb.
spencer larsen should have the spot. he wants it more.
it disgusts me that we let a 3 game lead vanish.
ok first off id like to agree with every1 our defense except champ and dj sucks. i think its sad that cutler has had a record breaking year and could still miss the playoffs because of a crappy defense. but heres what i think,WE SHOULD BE HAPPY WE HAVE MADE IT THIS FAR. I REMEMBER IN TRAINING CAMP PEOPLE WERE SAYING WE WERE GONNA FINISH 6-10 OR 7-9 AND HERE WE ARE NOW WITH A CRAPPY D AND GREAT QB PLAYING FOR A DIVISION TITLE. LETS BE HAPPY WE ARNT DETROIT FAN AND SUPPORT OUR TEAM
Definitely a disappointing loss and one that turned out to be a complete shocker. Totally did not see that ending coming… but it happened, could’ve and should’ve been avoided but it happened. Now we’re facing complete madness and its going to be VERY entertaining.
Its going to be a very intense game, its going to take everything this team has to pull off a win, but we can win. They’re going to have to pull off one miracle after another but it is possible. This team needs to have faith in themselves that they can do this, they need to play as a team consistently and then everything else will start to fall into place. This win is going to be far from an easy one, and this young team needs to figure that out like now. They cannot for any reason walk into San Diego territory and actually think this will be easy. This game will be everything BUT easy. They are out for our blood after what happend in week 2… they want revenge and they’ll do anything to get it.
There’s so many things that they need to do to get that win, our division and a playoff spot. They need to have faith in themselves that a miracle as big as this one can be done and we can make it happen, they need to play as a team, get solid communication between the players so that we can avoid picks and turnovers, and like monodono’s been saying we need to control our Time Of Possession… we need to control everything about that game and make sure its always in our favor. Our defense needs to hand their offense quick 3 and outs like there’s no tomorrow and our offense needs to outsmart them and get TD’s so that our lead is almost unstoppable and unmatchable. They know what’s at stake and they know what they need to do… they need to just do it. The time is long and gone for just getting by with “trying”, trying isn’t going to do us any good… now is the time to get their jobs done and do them as a team.
With faith…
GO BRONCOS!!!!
And I forgot to mention this…
I got to thinking last night after the game, although I would have loved to get that win, the division and a playoff spot at home and just get it over with, I got to thinking about something. How great would it be to go into San Diego and just completely stun the entire Crybaby country in their house by taking that win, our division and a playoff spot? I’m envisioning that and I know it won’t be easy, never said it would be and no doubt we’ll have to fight like crazy to get all that. But think about it, how much more sweet would it be to get all that’s at stake with this game and NOT go home empty-handed? I can just picture Rivers’ face in complete shock that we, the underdogs again, could pull off something like this and just leave them pondering what the heck happened. They want our blood for what happened earlier in the season… but we want something better out of them – our division!!
With faith…
GO BRONCOS!!!!!
I posted this in the other blog but i think all broncos fans should consider this.
Guys, Can’t you see the patten here. Like I have been saying all along. We are getting out coached. Our O and D coordinators are horrible. They are not putting the players in the right situations to win ball games. Neither can adjust to the opponents game plans and our D has no imagination at all. All we see it the same D every game. We are a very talented team but with the coaches we have we are wasting the talent. Look for new coordinators next year.
Well this just shows how young and immature this team really is still.Dont get me wrong we do have talent but we seem not to have killer instinct yet. This shows how important KC and Oakland games really were, but really i just have to say the Defense sux, really bad i cant say anything but we are just too small and have no heart no way are you guys suppose to just give touchdown away like presents i kno its christmas but damn. step up please the offense is getting tired of bailing you guys. DEFENSE HAS NO HEART—-DEFENSE HAS NO HEART
DEFENSE HAS NO HEART
DEFENSE HAS NO HEART
DEFENSE HAS NO HEART
DEFENSE HAS NO HEART
PLEASE PROVE ME WRONG
DEFENSE HAS NO HEART
DEFENSE HAS NO HEART
DEFENSE HAS NO HEART
DEFENSE HAS NO HEART
DEFENSE HAS NO HEART
DEFENSE HAS NO HEART
We blew our chances to be in the playoffs and probably don’t deserve to be there this year. This young team would be hard pressed to win a playoff game and certainly couldn’t go far. I’m looking forward to next year when the team matures and we get to start over with a lot of healthy kids. You are close to being good and maybe next year is your time. So now go to San Diego with no pressure, have fun, place loose and just maybe something good will happen.
Hopefully the Refs don’t return the favor to San Diego and blow a game winning/losing call.
I agree with a lot of the comments. There was a time when the D was starting to play a little bit better and it was when a lot of the starters were out. Why change a good thing, I think you can loose your spot due to injury especialywhen you were not getting the job done before you got hurt. I did not hear DJ Williams’ name once, WOODYARD SHOULD BE ON THE FIELD. Very bad personnel choices by the coaching staff.
Our DB’S are never even close to breaking up any passes, it is sick how these recievers are running up and down the field wide the freak open.
Brandon Marshall- You have talent, but you are allowed to make more than one effort to catch the ball. When the ball gets tipped don’t start pouting so quickly… try and make a damn play.
Just cause you do not break a long run on every run play does not meen you give up on the run, stick with it for a while.
Pratter….Any ways!
I don’t know how Denver wins this game on Sunday, but I have a funny feeling they are going to find away.
Dig Deep DENVER, DIG REAL DEEP!!!
We have to pull it together this sunday. Let’s go BRONCOS! I say you start d.j.williams in the middle and put woodyward and winborn on the outsides or woodyward in the middle but get webster out of there. Also bring in j.moss and dumerville on the other side. Can’t hurt. What do you say Denver let’s go.
simply put, we show up when we want too….with everything on the line in san diego i believe we will show up like we did in the meadowlands against the Jets. I just pray we can contain the run like we contained it against the bills on their last drive after the INT when it seemed like do or die.
This won’t be easy, we went from having the advantage to having the disadvantage and being the underdogs, if this team wants a taste of playoffs, they will just have to play their heart out point blank. 3 years without a playoff birth is blasphemy for the Denver Broncos Organization. someones gonna have to give a heart felt speech in the lockeroom next sunday before we step out on that field because we are gonna need it.
While I am frustrated and mad that it has come down to this, I can’t help but be unbelievably excited….I really can’t wait to see this game, I just hope we put on a show and hopefully win. GO BRONCOS….DON’T WASTE A SEASON THAT WAS FULL OF POTENTIAL.
just a thought wondering if cutler could play safety on defense we need a safety maybe cutler could blitz and knock rivers on his butt. but thats not possible because we dont blitz why not our defense is so poor unless woodyard and larsen is in there keep these guys and champ dj winborn get rid of everyone else and hope for a good draft our defense plays with no heart merry christmas san diego hope you guys choke sunday night. we did this sunday. get it together broncos
Hey Shanny, I’ll play RB for ya. Put me in coach, you’re giving everyone else a chance. Why in the hell wouldn’t we try to aquire someone that is actually going to help out? I know that S. Alexander is out there. How about Defense? I can play safety. At least I can bring some friggin desire to the team. I know I want to win. These guys are killing me. It almost kills me to watch an entire game. By the end of it I want to kill myself. Good job letting Lynch go. Why in the hell would you not want to keep a veteran leader around that you know comes to win day in and day out. We need somone like that to put some fire under everyone else’s asses. I don’t think it matters if we make it to the playoffs or not, these guys don’t know how to take their game to the next level. I can guarantee that the rest of the teams in the playoffs will be playing at a whole nuther level, we can’t even win the games we are supposed to win. Good luck….I hope someone mans up
Well it’s about time everyone is seeing what I saw with this team all along, No Heart!!!! I can not believe they have let San Diego even put us in this position unbelievable???? I watched the live press confrences yesterday and the only one that anything good to say was Marshall, maybe Shannahan should take a look at his team and the no confidence nor leadership that they have, our defense is pathetic, also I listened to Jay Cutler talk and he acted liked he was hot s@#t and had an oh well attitude and had enough nerve to get mad at a reporter, he does remember that he threw an interception on the 1 yard line right and his stats don’t mean nothing when he chokes under pressure he really needs a reality check he thinks he is so bad, but he han’t got to the playoffs once nor done anything spectacular, so Jay save the pre madonna act until you do something, Jake plummer never acted like that and at least he got us to the playoffs every year and to the Afc championship game. It’s has been a tough year broncos fans and we deserve better than these over paid underplaying team, it’s time for a change or one day we might end up just like the detroit Lions, oh wait if we don’t make the playoffs I guess we do have the same outcome as them.
What I seen yesterday is for the first time we came out coming off the edge blitzing up the middle and what did buffalo have -4 yards of offense we quit pressuring and go man up and the kick our butts hey DC pull your head out and grow a pair have been and alway;s will be a fan but webster how does a mlb who’s key is the tail back get suckrd in so far he is no where to be seen and we get run on like nobody our young players have played there butts off and shanahan and the coaches bench them why go for it all on the last drive when we had time and needed a first down hey jay you are not elway yet keep your head in the game look at the last two drives he had a chance to run for a third score or at least a first and he throw’ into coverage and is picked off again we rush for 147 in the first quarter and quit running in the 2 to the fourth THIS TEAM MANAGMENT pull your head out
It’s hard to stomach such a loss such as yesterdays. Our Defense had no backbone and could not protect the lead when we we up on Cutlers last scoring run. Our Defense is last in turnover differential in the league and close to 400 pts allowed. This needs to be fixed or Cutler will spend his entire career throwing for over 4000 yds a year and missing the playoffs. (One more shot against the Bolts). Question is will the “D” ever be fixed as we hire defensive coordinators every year or every other.
All of you have made some great points! I’ll try not to bash our team as I express my feelings. I’ll also try not to repeat some of the great points that was made.
1st. B. Marsh please stop all the talking bout we know what we have to do and blah blah blah. We hear that after and before every game. Yet (like someone said earlier) YOU SHOW UP WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE IT!
2. Our coaches are so quick to get away from the run if we aren’t getting 10+ yards a run. Yet alot of our pass plays feed off certain runs bc of the play fake.
3. Some guys need to take advice from the Rock…… Know your role and shut your mouth. I won’t say we are gonna get stomped by San GAYeigo but I’m still gonna rep and claim BRONCOS no matter what!
Shanahan must go or at least have a brain transplant. He is making far too many mistakes on far too many issues to bring this team back into the upper echelon of professional football. Hopeless decisions regarding players, coaches, and in-game play calling continue to relegate this franchise to the ‘wannabees but neverWILLbees.’ Once he forced Larry Coyer to move on, the concrete was set for one hopeless D after another hopeless D. Remember ‘The Orange Crush??’ Swallow yer pride, Shanny, and bring in some top coordinators (especially on D) who will get results…and STAY OUT OF THEIR WAY. You’re a reasonable organizer but please leave the football up to qualified people.
Defense-
LCB- Bailey
RCB-Paymeh
SCB-Bly/Williams
FS-Barret/
SS-Fox
ROLB-Williams
MLB-Larsen
LOLB-Woodyard
Offense
– Go to Graham and Chad Jackson more to throw off the defense
– Attack Castillo, remove his playmaking ability
– Stretch the D, but take the underneath routes 60%
– sneak it to Darryl Jackson and Chad Jackson on the DEEP BALLS
****Key****
– Put Barret on Gates like we did against Gonzalez(K.C.)
– Stunt more on Front Four( rips, swim, etc.)
– pick the right times to do 2 ‘shuttle-passes’, a hook-n-ladder,
fake field goal, or activate a lineman as an “eligible receiver”,
direct snaps to the fullback or something….get creative
– Complete the tackle, complete the stop!!!
**and I agree with Bronco Boyest95 100%**
1. Get off to a quick start
2. Touchdown ‘kill’ passes on 2nd and short, and with-in 35yd to Goal
3. Establish run with Boyd, and Pinnock. Use PlayAction from “split-backs”
4. NO TURNOVERS
5. Control the clock
The D
1. Finish the tackle!!!!!!
2. Pressure Rivers, Engelberger Spy 90% time for gap control
3. Gap control, Gap Control, Gap Control,
4. Watch for LT out of Backfield catch’s
5. Stop Sproles on kickoffs and when he’s on offense
Well whatever they do they better leave everything on the field……………….LEAVE NOTHING!!!!!!!
I’m with 07elway, how sweet it would be to walk into the Q and make Philip Cry me a Rivers fail while his rival Cutler bests him. This will be a difficult task, but it can be done.
It pisses me off to see that we had so many chances to secure our title in the AFC West and it comes down to the very last game of the season. Anyhow this game against the chrgers is going to be either a complete dominance by the chrgers or a very close one as usual. This season has been a complete roller coaster for us all and at this point I don’t even think that we really do belong to be in the playoffs although it would nice if we do go to the playoffs. I love the BRONCOS and no matter what happens I’ll still love the BRONCOS and I just want to see phillip rivers cry after he loses to us.
GO BRONCOS!!!
Ya know I don’t know what to say other than, you have to at times really think of proffessional sports as just a big STAGE! I mean in college sports a team with a ton of heart and cents of talents can really make a deep push for anything, in the pro’s ya it is a different level but can you really tell me that the team that wins is really the best team every time? I beg to differ because, we have humans deciding key plays in games, impossible to know what they want the outcome to be, impossible to know any of that and there are too many questionable calls to back that up!
So that being said we are in the final act here guys, it is put up or shut up time. We CAN go in there and pull out the standing ovation from the nation now! NBC took over the game because they know the caliber this will be. Why only let certain places of the nation see it, when you can have the entire nation live it? We really can go in and pull out the win, and I have the faith that we will, because the taste in our guys mouths is wrotten, they know how much SD hates them, they know how the nation is routing for SD, they like being the under dogs. Every game this year that was tough that we came out on top, WE WERE THE UNDER DOGS! Every game where we were the indisputable favors, we fought just to be in it, or we got man handled, or gutted like a fish!
Our team is young and they play up to their competition, AND UNFORTUNATELY, they play down to their competition.
I really would like Larsen back in there, he set up the outside linebackers to make plays, and he didn’t over persue like Nate does. But if he is not healthy why don’t we move DJ into the MLB spot again, he was a beast there, and put Winborn and Woodyard back in. Woodyard shouldn’t have ever been taken out.
Come on coaches play who deserves the spot, not who gets paid the most for the spot!
One final thing, KICK IT TO SPROLES! Huge reason we let the Bills back in was because we tried kicking away from their guy, that works when you KICK IT DEEP AWAY FROM THEM! When you kick it away from their good returner and it only gets to the 20 or worse, why even kick it? Might as well onside it and fight for the ball!
Prater has a leg so use it! Kick it high and let Sproles think that if he really takes it out even only being 1 yard deep, he will be met inside the 20!
Maintain your gaps defense!
Hold onto the ball offense!
Keep the faith fans!
07elway, pick up some chips while you’re out!
I was really hoping for at least one playoff game but in a sense this will be a playoff game. Everyone seems to be impatient with this team but remember this is a young team with no vocal experienced leaders. I’ve been a fan since ’77 so I’ve seen the best and the worst. This team is a couple of years and a few key players away from greatness. Remember “The Drive” was in Elways fourth season. Patience makes greatness.
No pass rush and poor kickoff coverage + turnovers = defeat !!!
Even an average qb like Edwards looks like an all-pro with no pass rush in his face.
That 65 yard screen pass looks just like the one that killed us in the Miami game.
When will we get real defensive & special teams coordinators ??
I have to agree with someone who made reference to Cutler’s hot s**t attitude, it is getting old. I know he does not like to do interviews, but damn he is not that good yet to act like he is king of the hill. Perhaps he acts like that because he hates interviews, what ever the reason, cut the s**t. I like Cutler and thing he will be good but I can’t tolerate arrogance!
Stop throwing easy picks, if nothings there tuck the ball and use those legs!
Another thing, do not look at P. Rivers and do not think about P. Rivers… He will already be one up on you because he’s going against are HAPLESS “D”! YOU WORRY ABOUT J CUTLER AND THE DENVER BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CUT SANDIEGOS HEARTS OUT ON THE FIELD WITH YOUR PLAY!!!!!!!
I agree with NCBroncoFanRan. I’ve been a fan since birth (1966) My family has had tickets since ’65. I’ve seen the boys in way worse scenarios than this. Leadership is what we lack. Especially on defense. Don’t be suprised if the Broncos trade a big name player for a pro bowl caliber defender with leadership skills. (LB or DE) I have my opinions as to who we should trade but won’t mention it here. We are young team and we will get back to glory soon enough. We had a great draft. Young players with huge potential. Just hope we can execute better against the Chargers. Go Broncos!!!!!
When will this madness ever end?????I think everyone on this blog knows what the problem is here so i won’t rehash but,Christ how can a team looks so bad in the second half.Defense blows..no running backs no leadership..wait i said i wouldn’t rehash sorry.Lets face it folks, our season is over.San Diego has huge momentum on their side as well as a blown call earlier in the season that they want to avenge.Oh well,im not one to throw in the towel on this team, but lets face it:We as fans haven’t had a whole lot to cheer for this season.Flashes of greatness yes,but in whole…nada.Well, the noose is pretty secure around my neck so time to kick the chair out…see ya
This is in response to what “07elway” had to say. No one is crying in San Diego Nation. In fact, we are all laughing. I agree with you…the Bolts do want blood for what happened earlier in the season and it won’t end with Sundays defeat over the “Denver Donkeys” it will go on much farther than that. And as for a game plan…..
If the Donkeys want to beat the Bolts, they must first pull the string on their tampons and grow a pair.
Eat’n Raiders and crapp’n Broncos is what the Bolts do best.
GO SAN DIEGO!!!!!!!!!!!!
BTW my email is deviant496@yahoo.com
#1BoltsFan – you’re messin’ with the wrong territory over here.
And you know what you guys in San Diego Nation are crying, that’s all you guys know how to do. Crying is what you do best! You guys are a bunch of Crybabies just like your Crybaby QB over there. Every time he turns around I see tears just flowing down his face because BOO HOO he didn’t get his way. And I bet he’s balling his eyes out now because our Jay Cutler got into the Pro Bowl and COMPLETELY snubbed your Crybaby QB!! So there’s just one last thing worth saying to you, you pig…
BITE ME!!!!!!
oh and…
GO BRONCOS!!!!!!
I’m sure Rivers doesn’t give a rats ass about the Pro Bowl. I understand that it all you have to look forward too, but come on. Rivers is thinking about how Denver blew it…he can’t wait for Sunday.
Oh yeah…Thanks for the early Christmas present.
Oh, I can bet you everything that Rivers does give a crap about not making the Pro Bowl… he cries and whines and cries and whines and cries and whines and cries and whines about everything that doesn’t go his way. He wanted to make that Pro Bowl so bad because he wanted to show up Cutler. He’s the biggest Crybaby I’ve ever seen or heard of in my life… he’s worse than a 2 year old. And you fit that description just as much as he does. You two belong together… you don’t belong here, so get the heck out!!
And the only Christmas present that will be given to you will be when the Broncos win on Sunday and kick your rear ends out of playoff contention.
Oh and for the record, I myself can’t wait for Sunday… its going to be a blast watching you and your Crybaby team fall. You should try to convince your boyfriend to change their team name from the Chargers to Crybabies. It suits them well.
Keep the faith Broncos Country…
GO BRONCOS!!!!
PUT A FULLBACK IN THE GAME ! ! !
