This Just In!
Well, “just” is kind of a stretch, but I’ve got an update from the Pro Bowl. It took a while for the film to arrive via steamship, then the processing of the film, and finally the printing of the photos but that’s the way things are (in 1920). The truth is, it’s hard to get motivated in the offseason. But I vow to do a better job.
Now…Pro Bowl. Every time I tell people I’m going to the Pro Bowl they always say, “Wow, must be nice!” But you can never really get it into people’s heads that I’m there to work. It’s not like they pay for my ticket and hotel room and just say, “Enjoy Hawaii!” It’s nice to be working in Hawaii but, it’s still work. I really don’t envy people who hate their jobs, because mine is so awesome.
Now, while in Hawaii we visited a couple military bases, some hospitals, the NFL Experience, the Special Olympics, did the Block Party, Ohana (Family in Hawaiian) Day, Pregame Party and, of course, the game. Obviously I didn’t list all the events, but just a sample to give you guys an idea of what goes on. There were 12 of us over there and we split up to cover the events, so we didn’t all attend all of the events.

(L to R, Top to Bottom : Gumbo-Saints, KC Wolf-Chiefs, Billy-Bills, Viktor-Vikings, T.D.-Dolphins, T-Rac-Titans, Jaxson-Jaguars, Big Red-Cardinals, Blitz-Seahawks, TD-Browns, Rowdy-Cowboys, Miles-Broncos)
These pics are from the Block Party Saturday night before the game. It used to be held at some outdoor mall, which was fine, but they moved it and now it takes up over half of Waikiki!

Me pumping up the crowd

The girl that I chose as my dance partner. They had to mimic the dances we were doing. She was pretty good…

…until I busted out the worm!

We posed on the Hawaii National Guard Humvee. This sucker was all decked out. Full exterior wrap, gator skin interior, and had a crazy system with a 42-inch flatscreen in the back! This was at Ohana Day — you can see the stadium in the background.

You may have seen Billy, Big Red and I taking in some sun at the game.

I’m trying to stay cool on the bench. Those misting fans don’t work all that great when you have fur.
I don’t have any pictures of me at the beach, climbing Diamond Head, at Manoa Falls, surfing Pipeline, snorkling at Hanauma Bay, or visiting Pearl Harbor. There’s just no room in these pants for a camera, plus nobody wants to sit through vacation photos anyway.
Mahalo and Aloha!
