Report: Koutouvides Agrees to Terms
ESPN.com reported Monday morning that the Broncos had come to terms with linebacker Niko Koutouvides, who spent the last four years with the Seattle Seahawks.
Monday afternoon, the Broncos announced that Koutouvides had signed his contract. The Broncos also announced the signing of Keary Colbert and the re-signing of defensive end Ebenezer Ekuban; both had first been reported in the media Saturday.
The Purdue product, who turns 27 on March 25, primarily handled special-teams duties for the Seahawks throughout the last four years. He started three games during the 2004 campaign — two in the regular season and one in the playoffs.
Over his four years as a Seahawk, Koutouvides had 89 solo tackles, 22 assists and a sack.

Great addition. I like the Broncos approach now on finding hungry players that are ready to prove themselves.
Even though that has been the Broncos’ MO for the last decade, just recently not finding the players that want to grow. These last two additions might be the turning point.
March 3rd, 2008 at 11:13 am
Sounds like a decent player. He’s said to be a, “special teams ace.” That’s an area the Broncos need help at.
March 3rd, 2008 at 11:18 am
i still think we should try and get javon kearse
March 3rd, 2008 at 11:22 am
I just want to hear Madden say his name on SNF !!
March 3rd, 2008 at 11:32 am
It’s about time we had some more Greeks around here! Opa!
March 3rd, 2008 at 12:00 pm
Has anyone heard about Marcus Thomas? It just gets better and better….
March 3rd, 2008 at 12:06 pm
A+ ! No panic evident in Bronco choices this year !
March 3rd, 2008 at 12:20 pm
Marcus Thomas was the passanger in a car that was pulled over and a bag of cocaine was found inside of it, trace amounts. Both Thomas and the driver where arrested because an officer can not truly know who it belonged to. Usuaully in these type of cases the driver is held most responisble. Lets hope that Thomas was actually being smart for once and truly did not know his friend had that in the car.
March 3rd, 2008 at 12:33 pm
just saw on espn that warrick dunn was release and the bronco were one of the teams interested in him. Dunn was a great back in his time, “was” being the key word. Hope they don’t pull the trigger on this one, we have more pressing needs and running back is not one of those positions where older is better.Hall and Young did a great job of backing up Henry and are only going to get better.
March 3rd, 2008 at 12:43 pm
Re: Marcus Thomas….he was in a car with someone else in FL, and police found cocaine and a gun in the car…for the amount of money the Broncos are paying him, and the fact they drafted him despite his earlier “troubles”, he has a responsibility to stay out of those kinds of situations. Hate to jump to conclusions, but at best it looks like another example of not knowing when to quit hanging out with old trouble-making friends.
March 3rd, 2008 at 12:51 pm
what is up with thomas and this cocaine???? Broncofan1088???
March 3rd, 2008 at 12:52 pm
I Hope WE pick up BOSS BAILEY and we need a solid return specialist. We need a good number 2 reciever because Stockley belongs and excells in the slot. Colbert is no number 2 by any stretch so we still have work to do.
My 2 cent = Sign Boss Bailey to help defense we need solid linebacker. See if we can get AL Wilson back for cheap on a one year deal.
Draft a good position player/ return specialist. Chris Johnson would be great there are others but this guy adds depth to the rb position
WR - I like Andre Caldwell for us. SEC guys are the best
Keep our eyes on free agency - there might be a good number 2 reciever left.
March 3rd, 2008 at 1:12 pm
All I got to say is you must be kidding!!! This is the best this team can do and or get? What a joke!!!
March 3rd, 2008 at 1:14 pm
We do not need Warrick Dunn.
This draft is deep at RB.
March 3rd, 2008 at 1:23 pm
Shanny - get Boss Bailey.
I think that this Niko guy is going to be a great backup but I still think that a starter free agent is better than a backup. I think with DJ in the middle and Jamie and (assuming we pick him up) Bailey on the outside, we could have a great linebacker corps with good depth thanks to Niko Kout-something and nate webster.
I personally think that Keary Colbert is going to suprise a lot of people and is going to end up as our number 2 guy. Not in numbers but he will be ligning up opposite marshall. BTW, have you guys seen his tape? He is a good blocker too.
March 3rd, 2008 at 1:25 pm
We don’t need any running backs. We have Selvin, Travis, and Andre + Mike Bell did a halfway descent job for us. Shanahan, please don’t get anymore running backs! Get a good DT and S in the draft!
March 3rd, 2008 at 1:27 pm
Furthermore, the Falcons couldn’t run the ball last year.
Dunn is done.
March 3rd, 2008 at 1:31 pm
Marcus Thomas must be a major dumbass to even be in that situation after the Broncos stuck thier necks out for him.
March 3rd, 2008 at 1:32 pm
yes we need boss bailey and also need to to sign rodney bailey from arizona then we have a bailey defence
March 3rd, 2008 at 1:35 pm
We need offense, we need a homerun hitter at running back again. We need a proven burner at receiver because it is very clear to me that we cannot score in the redzone in a grind it out fashion so we had better be able to shoot from deep if you know what I mean. We have the arm to do it, so what do ya say, lets stretch the field. There are some burners availalble via draft but I am not sure you want to commit pick 12 money to an unproven receiver( ex. Mike Williams, Charles Rodgers). Jay and Brandon just need a lil help. I think we took 2 dliners last draft in the first round they wont be able to help us score in the redzone. There are olineman available via free agency, we are close. GO BRONCOS!!!!!
March 3rd, 2008 at 1:36 pm
I think we are solid at running back, we still need receiver help, help on both sides of the line, a safety and another LB. Jackson the WR from Cal is probably one of the most explosive players in the draft which would help with the WR (someone who can stretch the field) and a kick return who can take it back. I know we need defensive help, but look at what Hester does for Chicago. Most of the time the Bears have great field position even if he doesn’t touch the ball and we all know what happens when he gets the ball. I am frankly glad we are signing role players and not dumping eight figure signing bonuses on guys who are not household names and have been in the league awhile.
March 3rd, 2008 at 1:48 pm
I think that we take a look at RB later in the draft, as it is deep this year and as insurance against henry. Niko is a decent add because we need help with ST. He is comming from a decent ST squad up here in WA. We do need more at LB, Bailey could be a good add, but Landon Johnson would be great. He has posted back to back 100+ tackle seasons in Cinci, and he’s only 26. I suppose I am not the GM though. Going out and getting proven young players….maybe I am in the minority with those kind of thoughts…
March 3rd, 2008 at 1:51 pm
Well thats 2 sensless singingns one more to go broncos. U get better at special teams with young guys on the second day of the draft and rookie free agents, who arnt costin you 2.5 million a year, and you get better at special teams by NOT kicking to devin hester multipule times in one game after he’s already torched you.
And please people with this boss bailey mess he cant get it done, he’s a good athlete but with our D-line that has trouble keeping our LB’s from gettin beat up by guards and tackles you wouldnt even notice boss was on the feild cause some 300 pound fat as* would be layin on him every play, and he cant stay healthy, get off blocks, the list goes on. Unless its the wide out from the cardinals, lets not make any other free agent moves and just wait for the draft.
once again, say it with me: TRADE UP FOR DORSEY…. or TRADE FOR DORSEY….which one sounds better
March 3rd, 2008 at 1:59 pm
Quality player. Broncos need a good draft.
March 3rd, 2008 at 2:07 pm
TRADE UP FOR LONG sounds much better to me. Either one. Or Ellis. I do not want another “triangle” pick in Dorsey. He may not be able to play after he hurts his “tibula” again (college educated person doesn’t know the difference between the tibia and fibula? come one now).
March 3rd, 2008 at 2:09 pm
we need defense and a wideout. not an ol like some say picking in first round
March 3rd, 2008 at 2:10 pm
Forget Boss Bailey - he used to be fast before his knee problems. I expected him to play safety when the Lions drafted him - but he has never been good against the run.
Colbert might work out playing alongside Marshall. But who will Cutler throw to, if Marshall is injured (or suspended)? Walker would have been an alternative.
I’d like to see a OT as our first pick, however I could well live a DT, given the questionmarks, Thomas raises about his character.
March 3rd, 2008 at 2:23 pm
nice add broncos,,we need all the help on special teams,,and Niko makes a gud back-up,,,ya’ll know this is not a waste of money,,young guys always in the shadows of starters hoping to prove themselves..
Marcus Thomas will be a beast nxt season (given he stays out of trouble)…we dont need a stud DT…look at wud the SB champs Giants did to the so-called pro-bowl line Brady had and Farve….they had small linemen,,gud strength,,gud speed.and especially strong determination,.,kept changing,,and look wud they did Brady??(more sacks in that SB than all the previous SBs the Patriots had)…heck,,at most of the time they used three DEs(Strahan, Tuck, Umenyiora) and one DT (interchanging)….and they just never gave up….
Broncos can do the same…3 DEs (Dumerville, Crowder, Moss/Ekuban) and one DT (Thomas interchanging w/ Balmer or Moore/Mckinley)…that would be SUPER!!!!!!!
we just need to a good draft this year!!add more depth,,sign a burner,,get the best linebackers in this draft, get Balmer or Moore..and add depth to the secondary….
GO BRoncos!!!!!!!!!
March 3rd, 2008 at 2:25 pm
We need players, STAR players period. Especially on the D-line. If this is the type of players they’re going to go after, its gonna be a very long season. 6-12. FOLDM, I’m right there with you, this is a JOKE!
March 3rd, 2008 at 2:28 pm
Well I don’t know a lot about this new guy, and I am not going to pretend to but if he is a good Special Teamer I am down with his signing. Plus if he played hard on kick coverage and blocking he should play hard on D… I like it when we take risks for a player that brings great value to the team.
I would be okay with a guy like Dunn coming in. I think we just need a really good role model vet guy that works hard to set the pace for Selvin, Bell, and Hall. If he is a good value I say pick him up, but if he takes a lot of cap room I am not down with us signing him.
Now about Marcus man you know just as well as I do guilt by association is common. I know how important it is to have loyal friends, but Marcus how loyal are the friends that keep putting you in these types of situations? You need to sit down and think about what is best for you, and if those friends are what is best for you than I don’t want to see you in a Broncos Uni. Now if being a good football player is best for you than that is what you need to concentrate on.
I do think we need to bring in Ellis or Dorsey not only because of their ability and talent but I think Marcus needs someone to push him. He likes to be the best and if he has guys like Ellis or Dorsey next to him he will have to try that much harder.
March 3rd, 2008 at 2:29 pm
Hey Mason,
Thanks for putting this on here!
March 3rd, 2008 at 2:31 pm
Sign Boss Bailey, Sign Michael Boley, Sign Antonio Bryant, Sign Eugene Wilson. Boss Bailey and Michael Boley will give us two young linebackers who are good and under the radar. Antonio Bryant is a name, but he is a good deep threat and will take some focus off of Brandon Marshall and Brandon Stokely. Eugene Wilson gives us a very athletic safety who can switch to the cornerback position. A player like him especially combined with foxworth will allow us to switch up the defensive matchups.
March 3rd, 2008 at 2:56 pm
The broncos should go with a 3-4 defense, sort of the way the chargers is. I think Webster would be a great fit rushing from the outside, allowing him to play like a Sean Merriman. The have 3 bigs upfront. This would make the defense as a whole 100 times better. Too bad they didnt try and get Jonathan Vilma…
March 3rd, 2008 at 3:42 pm
Who’s this fool? You guys think he’s going to turn out to be a beast? I admit this is a nice fantasy, but that’s all it is. Most likely this signing will add to the horrible decision making of the front office and we’ll cut him in preseason. Can anyone tell me why we’re not going after any real big name guys… we don’t need players who take 3 more years to be good. With Champ getting old and Lynch going into his last season, if we aquired at least someone decent at DT and S then we weould have a serious shot in the AFC next year. Come on Broncos, get it together.
March 3rd, 2008 at 3:57 pm
There might be some potential in this Niko Koutouvides guy and think it is a decent signing. We sure dont need Warrick Dunn so dont pull that trigger. I’m thinking that Colbert is a 4th string WR at best but time will tell. And whats the deal Marcus? Thats the last thing we need to deal with right now!
March 3rd, 2008 at 4:12 pm
get javon kearse….are you serious he is an old washed up bum..the eagles gave him 4 seasons to prove him self and he did nothing…dumerville is better ,younger and a harder worker and jarvis moss will be back this year he deserves a chance b4 kearse gets one….
March 3rd, 2008 at 4:37 pm
Foregt everyone else. to give the other team bad field position, we need a PUNTER!!! GO get the punter out of Georgia Tech, Brooks. He is GREAT!!!
March 3rd, 2008 at 4:39 pm
ok so some of the people on this blog are truly not real broncos Fans. Just like most people I think we should have went after at least a couple of big names but most of these players are getting paid way to much and are not worth it. The Broncos are doing the right thing by adding depth to the roster and signing guys with a good work ethic. They are signing people that have good talent but have to ability and drive to get better. We need these type of good character people in this organization. No one is giving Colbert a chance. Yea he may not be the fastest or the strongest but he never gives up. He gives it his all and plays hard the whold game and now he will actually have a good QB in Cutler that can actually get him the ball. I do not want to compare him to anyone in the past i.e. rod smith, eddie mac but he is the same type of guy as rod and ed. Willing do to anything the team ask of him to help his team win.
As for Niko Koutouvides, he has been a solid LB up in Seattle his whole career. He is a special team ace which is a big need on this team and Shanny and Co would have not paid him 2.5 mil a year if they did not think he could compete for a starting job. He will either back up DJ in the middle or compete for a starting job on the outside. I saw him play a couple of times this year and the guy hits hard and gives it his all. He has been used a MLB but face the facts DJ is our starting MLB. He was 2nd in the league in tackles this season. For his first year in the middle he did a good job.
So for all you hater out there, you need to relax. Shanny and Co are doing the right thing by signing hard working players that can contribute. Guys that do not have attitudes and do not require a huge payday. Just watch both these guys come in and suprise all you haters.
I also read all your comments about Marcus Thomas. You people need to give him a break. What ever happened to Innocent until Proven Guilty. He was being responsible by not drinking and driving. He got into that car making the right decision not knowing there were drugs in the car. The driver or the car has admited since that the drugs were his. Though, I do think marcus needs to sit down and think about the people he is surronding himself with. I also know that in the Court of Public Opinion, you are Guilty until Proven Innocent. Marcus knows he messed up and it will most likely not happen again. My point is that he is still young and will learn from his mistake. Also people need to remember when they were young and did stupid things that got them in trouble. People should not treat him and different just because he is a Pro Athlete.
As a whole you all need to calm down and give people a shot. Do not always think about the negative first but think about the positive. Give people a break, nobody is perfect and everyone makes mistakes. Do not judge the Broncos signing until you see how they are going to pan out. Just CHILL!!!
March 3rd, 2008 at 4:44 pm
lets bring in dunn….great character guy and he is use to running under the zone blocking scheme while alex gibbs was in ATL…..i wouldnt be surprised if we did get him that he would be the main man for us next year at half back…i know selvin is the man…but a vet…that is still fast and knows how to win…..i say lets do it! \
sucks about thomas….but i hope we keep him..cuz he is good!! and this new guy….i remember this guy always in everybodys face when he played for Seattle…i really dont like this guy…i mean what for….tell me he is better then Gold, and good enough to jump in at middle…cuz i heard DJ is going back to the outside…that exp in middle will help him on the edges!!!
damn how do we keep losing fa’s to the bills and browns of the league!! we need a better image and look for FA’s whats up with us??
March 3rd, 2008 at 4:44 pm
Those of you who are thinking about a 3-4 defense just throw that idea out the window. In order for that style to work the team needs a DT that’ll be a force to be reckoned with which the Broncos don’t have and are passing up free agent DTs. Instead they are focusing on the WR and LB positions; minor problems. The major problems the Broncos had last year were with the line on both sides of the field. So far the Broncos organization seem to be uninterested in addressing that major issue.
March 3rd, 2008 at 4:52 pm
This was a stupid idea. why on earth would you get a linebacker that got 23 tackles last season. Denver’s defense is not going to excel unless they get star players! Nobody succeeds with nobodies now-a-days. We need to go for big name free-agents such as Clark Haggans. Offense is also an issue. I know that Denver has been lucky at finding diamonds in the rough at running back but we can’t just keep doing this. We should have went for Michael Turner. Don’t even get me started about Wide Receivers. I bet we don’t even send Randy Moss and e-mail.
March 3rd, 2008 at 5:04 pm
BigVon, take a look at jordy nelson. this is who the broncos should get in about the 4th round. Also they should sign Bailey, putting him and DJ on the outside and then draft keith rivers. this guy is like a demeco ryan from houston.
March 3rd, 2008 at 5:05 pm
those of that are saying marcus thomas is a victom of circumstance are as foolish as he is…i dont no about ya’ll but i dont put myself in situations were i could become a “victom of circumstance” and i damn sure wouldnt if i had an oppurtunity to play ball for a couple mill a year. you can do things like ask the people you hang with if they are dirty and if they are or you have any doubt that they might be the RUN!!! jus my nickels worth…but hey to each his own right????
March 3rd, 2008 at 5:25 pm
Took the words out of my mouth DRAFT JAMAAL CHARLES, TRADE UP FOR DORSEY.
Run fast and far from dunn
Sign Bryant johnson
Get o line men that are more than 288 pounds.
And a 3-4 would give us more problems than solutions, We dont have a DT to put there, the DE we have now would have to OLB and would probly be good at it, But you need bigger ILB for a 3-4 so what do you do with DJ?? move him to safety……………… Maybe it could work… lets walk on this fantasy orange and blue brick road drop about 10-15 pounds, he already runs a 4.4 hey desperate times need desperate measures (wake up) but then we would need to draft ILBs 2 of em, DE’s DT’s yeah trash that idea, but the ILB out of maryland should be around on the second day. Lets face it
Broncos will go 9-7 this year, theres so many holes to fill but as soon as august rolls around ill be preachin the gospel of jay cutler bringin a super bowl ring but as for now I can be objective, then maybe after that, if we draft good, develop those picks then i think we got a legit chance to make a run
TRADE UP FOR DORSEY
DRAFT JAMAAL CHARLES
March 3rd, 2008 at 5:38 pm
hukedonfonikcs, we dont need to be wasting money on big name free agents that cost way too much. We have “stars” on our defense. For example, Champ, Lynch, Dre, DJ, and Dumerville. We just need to find the right role players that can step in and get the job done. In my opinion going conservative in free agency this year is the right thing to do, we just need to have a good draft.
March 3rd, 2008 at 5:39 pm
Warrick Dunn ran for over 1,500 yards two seasons ago. This season was a mess because the coach, vick, and all the other BS in ATL.
Continuing on Dunn, he has proven he can stay healthy which would be good because Henry can’t!
Finally, he would be able to REMOVE A LOT OF PRESSURE from Cutler because he can catch out of the back field a la Faulk and LT.
Bring him in!
GO BRONCOS!!!
March 3rd, 2008 at 5:56 pm
Looks like D.J.’s the only guy that has secured his position in the LB core. Thomas better be clean or he’s out of football. I think Shanny is doing a lovely job not losing his mind this year in free agency.
March 3rd, 2008 at 5:57 pm
OK everyone check this out, since a lot of you are tweakin just shut up, sit down, and read this…
1)We could use Warrick Dunn on 3rd down and for a vetern for Selvin Young and Andre Hall to look up to because seriously Travis Henry is not the best back in the biz.
2) This kid the Broncos added could help improve out Special Teams a lot.
3) D.J. stays inside for all of those who are NON-believers (BIGVON) and think we should get Al Wilson back
4)Considering the fact that D.J. stays inside we need to improve the outside not move him back out. Grab Boss Bailey, Victor Hobson, Brandon Chillar, or Roosevelt Colvin. Those are 4 decent names still in Free Agency.
5) We don’t need to draft a frickin punter. that’s what college free agency is for
March 3rd, 2008 at 6:30 pm
Adam Scheffter is reporting that Elam is done in Denver! Are you kidding me! Someone please explain why we would let go of a HOF kicker. Here is what I think about free agency this year.
1) I cant believe were letting go of Elam
2) I cant believe we cut Gold - if they wanted to let him go why not trade him for a draft pick and save the cap penalties.
3) I can see why we cut Walker and I have no problem with that.
4) Colbert? I was disappointed but hopefully he fits in here.
5) Koutouvides is a good player but not great, hopefully he makes a difference.
We need a great draft.
GO BRONCOS
March 3rd, 2008 at 6:50 pm
get rid of shanahan!!!!!!!!!!!
March 3rd, 2008 at 6:56 pm
Ya’ll are talking about Niko being a backup… he is competing for the starting job at middle linebacker. DJ Williams did not play his best football there and the Broncos have thought of moving him back.
C2 we cut Gold because he couldn’t tackle anybody last season. It was like we were playing with 10 on defense. If Elam doesn’t return it is because the Broncos can’t pay him what he wants. It would be nice if we could get at least another linebacker/safety and defensive tackle before the draft.
March 3rd, 2008 at 6:58 pm
Gold was not the same football player, he was slow and couldn’t get off his blocks. Big Al hasn’t signed anywhere now has he, that’s HINT #1 that MAYBE he’s not fit to play anymore. Elam’s not going anywhere dumb ass, he’s thinking about retiring. Robertson has to come so far under that contract it’s a joke. The Jets can’t just expect another team to eat $9 million and like how it tastes. D.J. Williams is a STUD, keep him wherever HE feels most comfortable and build the LB core around him. I believe they’ll move him back to WLB and most likely draft a guy to play middle. OL and DL are the number one issues though on the team, still, Shanny should trust his board and draft the BEST PLAYER there. If Clady’s there I’m gonna dance a jig.
March 3rd, 2008 at 7:22 pm
Koutouvides is a joke, he hardly played in four years!!! We need to go after bigger names
March 3rd, 2008 at 7:26 pm
BTW, can we trade Dre Bly??? I know the pass wasn’t that great but, man he got freakin burned all over the field!!!!!!
March 3rd, 2008 at 7:28 pm
Gnarly, you’ve gotta be kidding. If Thomas is friends with this guy, I’m willing to bet he knows if the guy is likely to have drugs and guns in his car. And this isn’t the first time he has been in trouble. Remember how he basically got kicked off his college team because he repeatedly got in trouble, after multiple warnings by his coaches? remember him slipping in the draft because most teams thought he was too risky off the field? I still think it was a GREAT move by the team. He is super talented, and I am all about giving a college kid a second chance. However, he is now a PROFESSIONAL. He should be held to a higher standard than college kids. When you become a grown man and a PROFESSIONAL, you are expected to act like one, especially when you have already been given a chance by an employer who could’ve written you off like all the rest did. I don’t know about you, but if I get caught in a car with someone with drugs and guns in the car and I actually get arrested (it’s called constructive possession), I am not going to have a job to go back to. Playtime is over, and he needs to grow up if he wants the PRIVILEGE of playing in the NFL.
March 3rd, 2008 at 7:34 pm
shelbo bronco,
After reading your blog, I feel victomized. Who is the victom anyway?
March 3rd, 2008 at 7:39 pm
suavey 303,
Be careful what you say about Greeks…
March 3rd, 2008 at 7:52 pm
I say pick up Dunn! Cut/trade Henry and Bell for draft day moves! Selvin and Hall are both great young RB and KR crew. Pick up Dunn who still made like 800 yards with the falcons sorry O. Dunn could pull 1000 easy here and still get Selvin close to 1000 with splits. I’m still sure we need one more solid DT/DE combo guy . This Kovo is gonna be a needed live wire on ST but doubt much else. I see draft day being a Dline and LB priority followed with a WR/RB sleeper.
March 3rd, 2008 at 8:19 pm
There was no Gun in the car. Here is the link with the CORRECT information on the Marcus Thomas arrest.

My Small, Light Greek backup
Now resign Al Wilson
March 3rd, 2008 at 8:25 pm
And, good job trading for a DT
March 3rd, 2008 at 8:39 pm
hey mason any word on if there is a chance Elam will be back.
March 3rd, 2008 at 8:41 pm
here you go 1088: http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_843…
March 3rd, 2008 at 9:16 pm
Thank you vegasbronco, ironically that article made me feel even better about the arrest. He was tested and it was negative after the arrest, therefore he was not using the illegal substance and it was not his car in which the gun was found in the glove compartment. He can have whatever friends he wants as long as he makes the right choice by not using any illegal drugs. I honestly think that this is not as bad a thing as it first sounded for Thomas except for the fact that he needs to make sure the friends he choses to hang with are not doing anything illegal while he is with them.
March 3rd, 2008 at 10:51 pm
I can see why some of you guys are complaining because we didn’t sign any big names in free agency this year. After all, look where all the big names we signed last got us??? I love Jason Elam , one of the best Broncos of all time, but if he does leave then we only have to carry 2 kickers on the roster instead of three and that opens up a spot for someone else. He will retire some day and we may never have a kicker as great as him. I’m sitting on fence on this one but I can’t help thinking we might have been 5-11 last year or worse without him. Niko will be our best special teams player next season, enough said. He was also a captain on the seahawks , we do need leaders on this team. I do think warrick dunn can still play, i don’t think we need him unless we give henry the boot. One old guy running the ball is enough. Henry was awesome when healthy last year but he wasn’t healthy enough to do the team any good over the long haul. I’m really worried about cutler getting killed again this year, we need a great left offensive tackle. I’m worried about stopping the run. we need a strong young bull in the middle of that d-line, no fat guys please. I was amazed at jarvis moss’s speed off the corner last year, I can’t wait to watch him play again. I think it says something for marcus thomas that he was in the wrong place but didn’t do the wrong thing. That takes a lot of will power to be around your peers and not surcome to peer pressure. I think he’s gonna be alright. I think colbert might work out, he’s got to be excited to have a guy like jay culter throwing the ball his way.
March 3rd, 2008 at 11:09 pm
Niko’s primary role will be on special teams. Obviously, we need some assistance in that department so he’ll fulfill his purposes marvelously. If he does anything else, it’s all gravy.
March 3rd, 2008 at 11:19 pm
You guys who are hung up up on the fact that Koutouvides hasn’t played much the last four years (except on special teams), are you unaware that he was backing up an all-pro? He’ll do well in the middle, and Williams can move back to the outside which is more suited to his talents. Yes, he was good in the middle. He’ll be even better on the outside. As for wishing we had traded rather than released Gold, why didn’t I think of that? I think we should have traded for, oh, Lance Briggs, or maybe Tomlinson. Yeah, why didn’t we do that? Maybe we didn’t get anything for Gold because nobody WANTED to give us anything.
March 3rd, 2008 at 11:49 pm
I like that we signed this guy, we are taking a much different route this year, and that tells me shanahan and the broncos are trying to make up for the upsets last year, the quick fixs didnt work, now we do it the long way, this is how the Patriots did it guys, build through the draft and address what we need.
My list of free agents I think are still availible that we could use is:
1) Marlon McCree S- this guy was part of a good chargers defense and hes about 30 years old, and we still need some experience, I like this guy and should pursue him.
2) T Shaun Olivia- this was one of the lineman the chargers let go and with lepsis out I think this guys can help us out alot hes 25 years old and can have a good football career ahead of him in Denver, plus he block for LT, means something!!
3)Boss Bailey- 2 reasons why I like this guy, one he is champs brother and they would make a great duo and the game would be that much fun for them, playing side by side as brothers and competing i like it, two, hes a another speed demon, and when he was a rookie he ran the fastest 40 of all LBs, injuries set him back but he appears healthy and ready to play and young so this guys is a must and I hope we sign him.
4) We still need a #2 reciever, my list of recievers that are good are D.J. Hackett, Bryant Johnson although he may want money for it, Malcom Floyd from the chargers, tall 6′5 guy who is to me a guy that will perform if given the opportunity, and even Jabar Gaffney, now these names are not big, but the potential is there.
Any guys for those who know nothing of Keary Colbert, hes faster than hes shown, he ran a 4.38 on his combine about 3-4 years ago, hes just not been in the right situtian or given a chance.
In the Draft we need a DT for sure, you’ll be surprised who we can get, if you look whos ahead of us, Maybe only the Bengals are really in need of a DT like us, so we could get a good one, there are so many good D-line man in this years draft.
March 4th, 2008 at 12:56 am
Blasphemy on you moody dont you open your mouth to say some garbage like get rid of Mike, he’s done entirely too much for stupid crap like that.
Maybe mike can pull of a great draft day trade and we will…….
TRADE UP FOR DORSEY.!!!!!!!!!
March 4th, 2008 at 1:11 am
I think so far we have been doing good in free agency. Signing this guy is a good move, Mike has a knack for finding hidden talent. I suggest leaving D.J in the middle and letting the rest of the linebackers like this guy battle it out for a starting position. Uh if i’m not mistaken I think Jordan beck is also trying to compete for a starting job.
March 4th, 2008 at 6:10 am
Is it me or are the Broncos really dropping the ball right now in free agency? It seems like they haven’t tried to pick up any real talent yet and now it’s too late. Sure the 11th pick is great, but after the past years drafts do we really have faith in what old Shanny is gonna draft?
March 4th, 2008 at 6:24 am
For all you haters who have no clue about football, let the professionals who actually do this for a living sign the talent…and for those of you who can read check out today’s Denver Post!!
http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_844…
March 4th, 2008 at 7:10 am
I,m with you XZBRONX, we had our chance to really bolster the defense , instead it’s the same old defense and logic. Bend don’t break defense never works. We need to be dominate and nasty SOB’s on defense. Make every other team scared to play us. Now we are just another win for someone else!!!
March 4th, 2008 at 7:51 am
Hey guys I from Brazil, I love football and Broncos. I’m 18 and watch this game for at least 5 years…somethig fortunatelly, is not more so unusual around here…
I’m not inside all this drft news or free agency, but Dunn, in my opnion, would be a great add, this guy is a playmaker; our offense really needs a boost and a experienced man to share the hard work with Cutler. The running game must be a real threat that runs well every game, Hall and Young are not prepared yet. Olivea is a great name and with Matt out, we should pull that trigger.
On D, it’s nice to know that Champ could play by the side of another Bailey. I also like Gibril Wilson, he’s a great name. Adding a huge DT would make our D-line look a little more scaring, but I don’t have a clue who could be it.
Man, DJ is our cornerstone, let him play wherever he wants, we have to find someone to play by his side, not the opposite.
I’d like somebody to talk more often about our tean…
Thanks Broncos Fans, I hope I didn’t say any stupid thing…
March 4th, 2008 at 8:57 am
Finally someone knows what there talking about … greekbronco9!!
For those of you who don’t know who Niko is, lets remind ourselves this is a guy who at Perdue was 1st team All-big 10 two years in a row, and won Perdue’s hammer award (meaning I hit like a truck) 2 years in a row. He was drafted by Seattle, and in his rookie year started the last 4 games of the season (and started in the Playoffs). Sorry Lofa (aka 3 time probowler) was drafted and started over the guy. Can you name any other middle linebacker in the NFL that would start over Lofa? Didn’t think so. Also, in Seattle 4-3 system, there was no room for Niko. So what does the guy do….oooo how about be 2nd in the league in special teams tackles (and be one of Seattles CAPTAINS!, any team can use good leadership). It just proves he is hungry, and he finally is getting a chance to make it happen. And do you think Shanny is dumb? The man knows Niko can play, and they are bringing him in to play Mike, and move DJ to where he loves…. The outside. Niko is a good player, who hits like a truck, and is mean as hell. Lets give him a chance to play ball b4 we make posts saying who is this guy. I hope he proves all you haters wrong.
March 4th, 2008 at 8:59 am
keary colbert is not #2 wideout material, and niko is gonna b a backup and help our coverage unit. dj is alot better bigger, and all he needs is 1 more DT. dj woulda gone to the pro bowl as a first alternate but ray lewis went becuase his name is ray lewis
March 4th, 2008 at 9:04 am
I can’t believe how many of you are ripping these guys without giving them a shot. Remember a few guys named Ed, Rod, Terrell, Cadrez, Braxton? They weren’t exactly house hold names either but I believe once they got a shot they excelled. And seriously, for the last F’N time, quit the bitching and pleading to bring back Al Wilson. The man no longer fits the scheme and he can’t land a job right now because of his serious healthy concerns. Quit looking in the past, that’s the problem with too many of you now.
March 4th, 2008 at 10:10 am
Can’t believe the jets signed pace for more than briggs(42mil,36mil). Don’t know much about niko or colbert but there are suprises every year like selvin last year. Wish we would have made a bigger splash in FA but it is risky as we found out last year.
March 4th, 2008 at 10:23 am
MOODY we keep Shanahan, he is one of the better things that has happened to this franchise.
HRDNOKD is right, Al Wilson has health issues. Stick with what we got in D.J. Williams. I think 120+ tackles is something to admire especially at such a young age.
DENVER NAPOLEON I believe this should be said. Ray Lewis, Brain Urlacher, D.J. Williams, Shaun Philips, and Demeaco Ryans are better MLBs than Lofa Tatupu. But I think you are right with Koutovides, he is hungry (on special teams). I believe his inexperience would show on the field.
If nothing else happens in free agency and we can grab some names like Rod Coleman DT from the Falcons, Roosevelt Colvin/Victor Hobson/Boss Bailey OLBs, and Bryant Johnson WR from Arizona.
Then in the draft hopefully it goes like this:
1st rd: Keith Rivers OLB USC
2nd rd: Pat Sims DT Auburn
4th rd (1): Jeremy Zuttah OT Rutgers - strong, good zone-blocker
4th rd (2): Kirk Barton OT Ohio State - strong, athletic
5th rd (1): Dominique Barber SS Minnesota - very similar to John Lynch
5th rd (2): Jason Shirley DT Fresno State
7th rd:Jayson Foster WR Georgia Southern - fast, explosive, great returner
March 4th, 2008 at 10:43 am
Great to see that Eb was resigned by the Broncos. This was a major must sign for the Broncos.
March 4th, 2008 at 12:07 pm
Bronco Boy2012,
Nice draft. I like Zuttah. He can play right tackle or guard. Might even play left tackle in a pinch. Very fast. Very strong. He has two teammates the Broncos should bring in as CFAs if they don’t get drafted (Sosa & Fladell). It would be cool to get their other teammate (Rice), but that probably won’t happen. Hope Zuttah is there in the 4th as you project; maybe not. Sucks not to have a 3rd, but that went for a good purpose regardless of what shelbo bronco says. Don’t the Broncos still have the 6th? When Jimmy Kennedy was cut, I thought that nullified the trade/contingent on making the team. And, don’t the Broncos have an extra 7th? Lelie? Warren?
March 4th, 2008 at 12:57 pm
Get rid of Elam? I think I’m going to be sick…If it wasn’t for ole #1’s leg last year we would have lost five or six more.Fact is our D suct last year thanks to Jim(Norman)Bates and his roach motel “system”
March 4th, 2008 at 2:31 pm
i think we should go for an offensive linemen in the first round of the draft and maybe a linebacker with the second choice. Signing Koutouvides was a good step in rebuilding the D.
March 4th, 2008 at 3:06 pm
Elam wants like 3 million a year. I loved you Jason, but you gotta go. No kicker is worth 3 mil. If Elam walks they should take Reda in like the last round this year. Ian Gold was not the same player last year. If talks are heating up with the Jets, I would love to see Robertson. Wait, isn’t Vilma still looking for someone for a trade? I would take him way before Robertson.
March 4th, 2008 at 3:44 pm
I really think we need to snag lil bro Boss Baily from Detriot. Champ and Boss would do wonders together on the same defense
March 4th, 2008 at 4:09 pm
Denver can save a lot more money by cutting Elam! Everyone is right, 3mil for a kicker? See ya!! Then get rid of Dre Blind ooops…Bly- the guy is absolutely worthless.. We need the Offensive Line men truly. That’s where it all starts. Get the guy out of the University of Michigan…
Cut BLY!!!!!
March 4th, 2008 at 4:15 pm
Boss Bailey will be vistiting tomorrow on 03/05, and expect them to make a serious attempt at signing him….Elam is probally done because he’s asking for way too much money for someone who only kicks field goals and extra points. As far as the draft look for an OT early and I expect a trade up at some point with all the lower picks we have. Niko will be our new MLB and DJ Williams is going back outside where he belongs, and then Boss will be on the other side. The area i’m not sure about is DT……..any thoughts there.
March 4th, 2008 at 4:48 pm
Are you serious??? What I wanna know is why Denver didn’t automatically sure up the linebacker core with the addition of Jonathon Vilma, and move DJ back to his original spot! That right there makes that defense better. They could have snagged Vilma for a 4th round pick!! Another thing is why they didn’t pull the trigger on Shawn Rodgers??? That makes no sense to me what so ever. I seriously hope we were not waiting for Marcus Thomas to develop, cuz now look at whats going on with him… So now denver missed the chance on not Rodgers, but another solid DT from NY Jets, and the solid DT from Jacksonville… Denver could have easily made this defense very solid with the additions of two of these players? Another thing is I seriously hope they don’t expect Colbert to the other starting reciever along side Brandon Marshall.. Thats a joke!! I think there are alot of Broncos fans that would agree that the biggest area of need right now would be GM worth a damn..
March 4th, 2008 at 5:05 pm
Are you kidding? Lofa ain’t all that! He’s an average player on an average N.F.C. team(THEY’RE All AVERAGE IN THE N.F.C.-THE GIANTS ARE A FLUKE). If this guy was so good Seattle would have moved him to another position to get him from behind Lofa. Denver has signed two average second-stringers when our starting line-up has more holes then a Packer fan styrofoam cheesehead. We only have one legitimate N.F.L. starter in the front seven unless Moss suddenly gets his game back. I’m starting to wonder if Shannahan has holes in his head. This team will be lucky to be 7-9 next year. There are no legitimate free-agents left and the draft is one of the weakest fields in the history of professional football. While others are making moves to improve their teams our team is getting younger and less talented.
March 4th, 2008 at 5:59 pm
Are you serious?? What i would like to know is why Denver has let some players this offseason just go right through their grasp? Denver had the chance to sure up their linebacking core with the addition of Jonathan Vilma for a 4th round pick!! And they let him go.. with the addition of Vilma that allows DJ to go back to his normal strongside position. Also with Vilma that automatically makes your defense better then what they displayed in 2007. Another question mark is why they didn’t pull the trigger on Shawn Rodgers, D’wayne Robertson, or even Marcus Stroud? All 3 of them DT’s are pro-bowl caliber players and would have been able to come right in and make an instant impact on the struggling D-line that Denver is known for… If Denver brings in Vilma and one of these DT’s were looking at a possible Top 10 Defense in 2008. Also, I really hope Denver really isn’t banking on the addition of Keary Colbert. You have got to be kidding me if they think for one minute that he is going to be a number 2 reciever alongside Brandon Marshall.. Thats a joke! The last solid season he had was is rookie season and that will be 5 seasons ago. I believe many Bronco fans out there would agree that one of our biggest needs right now is a GM that is actually worth a damn, and to take them strings from Shanny and just let him worry about getting this team where they need to be.. I really hope that Denver has a trick up their sleeve come Draft Day cuz if not I really believe we are looking at what could be a very very long 2008 season.
March 4th, 2008 at 8:12 pm
I dont know why theres all the fuss about our line backers, and “who we should bring so DJ can move back out side.” If you dont have a d-line to keep 330 pound fat asses from driving your line backer into the dirt, it wont matter who is playing line backer. Does any one remeber the monday football game between the ravens and cheifs a few years ago. Remeber what RAY LEWIS was cryin to his coaches about?? he was brought to tears because every play the guard and center where kickin his ass, and if you watch the game, it was only the center the guard was runnin by beatin up on another line backer or safety. Why do you think ray wanted them to draft a DT that year cause he was tired of gettin his ass stepped on by guys that got 100 pounds on him. Line backers are only as good as the line, look at the giants their line backers are above average at best, but they look like freakin gang busters all the time because no one can get past their line and if they do the threat of penetration is too high to risk.
Lets be real has DJ lived up to the hype since he came out of miami…. im gona say no, and why is that, because at miami he had 3 first round line men playin in front of him so all he had to do was find the ball and run to it. He dosnt have that here, and any line backer that you put in a broncos jerzey wit the same Dline, youd come up wit the same results. hence my logic behind the chant
TRADE UP FOR DORSEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
March 4th, 2008 at 8:39 pm
What are the Broncos thinking of signing Keary Colbert?!?!? I live in NC and I had to watch this bum drop passes all year long. All my buddies make fun of me now because they are so happy to be rid of him and they think it is hilarious that the Broncos went out and paid him 7 million bucks…..the embarassment continues.
March 4th, 2008 at 8:44 pm
cfrazier77,
I’m sorry you feel bad. But if you think your situation is bad, just think of what Hitler is going through on youtube concerning the Cowboys.
March 4th, 2008 at 9:36 pm
hey guys, guess who javon signed with?? 6year deal with the RAIDERS. are you kidding me????? fag.
March 4th, 2008 at 9:40 pm
javon walker signed with the raiders. what a dbag.
March 4th, 2008 at 10:16 pm
In a sense I do agree with you M.C. I do agree Denver needs to move up and try and snag Dorsey, but the likely hood of that happening is slim to none. I don’t agree wtih that D.J. hasn’t lived up to the hype. How hasn’t he? His rookie year he led the team in tackles over Al Wilson, Ian Gold and the rest of the defense. He never had a sophmore slump. Yes he didn’t live up to his hype this year because it was his first year in a new position. DJ is not a middle linebacker period. He is meant for the outside in coverage and coming off the edge you know like that one dude in San Diego Shawn Merriman we know him all to well lol… As far as your linebackers being only as good as your line that is somewhat true.. If you recall when Al Wilson was in the middle before his accident we had the top linebacker core in the league! Not to mention top 5 defense for over half the season the only reason for the fall was because that bum Plummer couldn’t keep our offense on the field for more then 5 plays a series. I don’t care what D line you have for linebackers when you constantly on the field your gonna get worn down through 17 weeks. But I am with you on the move for Dorsey I would love to see it.
March 5th, 2008 at 7:03 am
To all you second guessers.Let me know what you think after camp when Niko starts hurting players on the practice field. He won’t talk aabout all you fools he will show you what he can do on the field. Stay tuned!
March 5th, 2008 at 7:12 am
So the Raiders signed Walker to a 6 year deal. I sure hope that the Raiders guanteed a buch of it. With his bad knee, Walker will be lucky to play 6 games, much less six years.
March 5th, 2008 at 7:38 am
BroncoBoy2012:
Shawn Philips from Purdue good friend of Niko’s isn’t a MLB.
March 5th, 2008 at 10:52 am
Vic Carucci’s mock draft has us takin jackson out of cal in the first round. What a #$#@in idiot, he just lost all credibility with this bull $#@% he put up. He dosnt even have cedric ellis bein drafted in the first round. he’s got aqib talib bein the first CB drafted at #5 to kansas city, you gona draft a CB that gets burned by jordy nelson get the #$#@ serious. He has malcolm kelly bein the first WR bein drafted this man has lost his #$@^n mind
And no DJ is better than merriman, when DJ and maurice jones drew collide who wins that battle..DJ, when Maurice and merriman meet who wins that battle… that right pocket hercules. Shawn aint $#@% wit out that juice, And DJ is all 100% pure freak of nature
March 5th, 2008 at 12:13 pm
WOW!!! I don’t understand how your riding DJ’s nuts when you just said he hasn’t “Lived up the to the hype” That all he did at Miami was chase the ball because of the Dline in front of him
March 5th, 2008 at 12:18 pm
m.c. the great,
If you really want to become a chief boatswain’s mate, you need to use #$^% or a variation of it at least every 3rd word. Until then, you’re stictly 3rd class.
March 5th, 2008 at 4:06 pm
GreekBronco9,
Have you ever seen a 3rd or 4th year non starter become a significant player in the NFL? It happens on every team in the league. I think alot of these naysayers are listening to Johnny Denver music instead of watching football. VegasBronco42 do you get it?
March 5th, 2008 at 4:34 pm
i cant wait to see javon come back to denver in a raider jersey. john lynch gonna light his a$$ up!!
March 5th, 2008 at 5:40 pm
we need a good draft,,,definitely address DT and OL,,then get a burner receiver if not in the FA den early in the draft,,,,den maybe we can concentrate on adding depth to secondary (esp. safety)…
reports,,Denver is really leaning on signing Boss to be strong-side linebacker,,and safety McGree is visiting the Broncos too,,,choosing b/w
buffalo or denver..
March 5th, 2008 at 5:40 pm
I can’t believe Walker. That no good piece of crap. He’s Definately not gonna have a fun time when he comes back to Denver.
March 5th, 2008 at 7:41 pm
Honestly Champ cant cover Walker, but every time i looked at a video clip of training camp it was cutler to walker deep behind champ bailey. Maybe i just saw the anomaly any one who attended the camps tell me if im right or wrong on that. Does any one know why we dont play press coverage EVER, even in the damn redzone. Thats why dre looked so bad he has no control or idea of what a wide outs gona do, he’s always been a press aggresive guy, then we bring him here and say “see how champ reads what the receiver is gona do while playin 10 yards of…. do that.” And i think it would help the D-line out alot in gettin to the QB if those few split seconds a press coverage can give where part of our strategy .
And I said he just chased the ball, because thats all a line backers job is, find who has the ball and hit his ass, its not heart surgery, and a line backer cant do that if some one is infront of maulin their ass down the feild. And im just statin facts DJ’s had a pro body comin out of high school 18 years old, even your top teir players need the college workout program, and at least a year of a pro work out to get what dj had at 18. Maybe i didnt make myself clear, he still has alot of potential that hasnt been utilized. I mean arnt we all just waitin for “Dj to have that break out year”
im not gona talk sh@t to others on a blog………… but i will say this
TRADE UP FOR DORSEY!!!!!!!!!!!……
PLAY MORE PRESS COVERAGE
March 5th, 2008 at 9:04 pm
I honestly don’t think we need to trade up. At the 12th spot Keith Rivers will be there. Then in the 2nd round we can get this big @$$ kid Pat Sims from Auburn. He is a top 5 DT who will drop the the 2nd round and he’s a B-I-G kid who can help clog the middle with Marcus Thomas. They can gain some knowledge from Gerard Warren. Some of the better zone-blockers are not quite as good but decent AND will be available in later rounds.
m.c. the great didn’t D.J. just have a breakout year? I mean did you bother to look at his freaking beastly stats. he had 141 tackles, 1 sack (not impressive) and 1 INT. Unless Denver gets 11 beastly players on defense he’ll be posting 100+ tackle seasons for the rest of his career.
March 5th, 2008 at 9:34 pm
my bad, forgot Gerard Warren was traded. oops.
March 6th, 2008 at 3:31 am
i agree we really need a DT like Dorsey,,,but we shouldnt get too hasty,,we still have Pat Burns, Dre’ Moore, Kentwan Balmer,,who might go in the second round,,,by the way the Broncos are signing LBs,,it looks like they might actually go for a OT in the first round,,,,but i would definitely understand why they would address the line early,,,Cutlers taken too many hits this season,,and took a close call in Detroit (couldve been out all season,,but the guy is TOUGH)……so a top 5 tackle wouldnt hurt,,,if Cutler is given the time,,him and Marshall (hoepfully Bryant) would be a defensive coordinators wost nightmare..
however,,,,if it was me,,,i wouldnt pass up a guy like Rivers,,,
again i say,,We need a BURNER!!!!someone not afraid to go deep and fight for the ball,,,some one like Daxter Jackson,,idk,,i havent seen other videos of this class’ widereceivers…
March 6th, 2008 at 5:56 am
Monahand,
They will all see the big picture reeeaaal soon!!
March 6th, 2008 at 6:36 am
Monahand,
I second that. Great Post!
March 6th, 2008 at 11:02 am
Thomas was tested for coke and was clean the, it was the drivers coke thomas is clean so he got a break. We need boss on the strong side and DJ can back to the weak side were he started his career and shined…before we resigned Gold from Tampa…now we need a MLB…Al wilson reunion or a rookie spark…Keary Colbert might be able to focus hear in Denver cause all his beer will freeze and break unlike Carolina thus producing a #2 receiver like season.
March 6th, 2008 at 11:09 am
If a large DT who takes up blockers is what the Broncos need, then I wonder in what rounds Frank Okam and Red Bryant would be available? Not having a third is a problem. Is Kenny Phillips a reach at #12? Would he be available in the second round? In the first round taking the best player regardless of position is a must. You definitely don’t want to pay a player 1st round money if he isn’t bona fide 1st round talent. When the Broncos turn comes at #12 they will have the option of addressing several positions. OT? LB? (Probably not with the moves they’re making right now) DL? (Depends on who’s left) WR (maybe, although I’m not sold on Desean Jackson) S? CB? Definitely not QB, RB, TE. FB is needed, but probably available in later rounds.
March 6th, 2008 at 11:36 am
i heard that lavarnus coles and Kerry Roads of the jets are mad they didnt get better deals…..we should go for Roads at least he is a beast a trade with him to help jets save cap room would be sick…we would have to pay alot for him but he is young and not even in his prime yet and he is a probowler
March 6th, 2008 at 11:38 am
Some of yall sound like cult prophets (if there is such a thing)
But any way Yes Safety in the first round is a reach phillips will be there in the second round i dont think any one is that desprate for a safety to grab one in the first. and if the savior to the D isnt available by trade (Glen dorsey of course) then gettin branden albert would be a great pick, i know mike dosnt like big Oline men but this guy is a special package. And why is there so much hype about Deseasn jackson. Ive seen him in mock drafts every where bein picked in the top 20. saying he’s could be the next hester, WRONG hester is 205 pounds he can break tackles the few times deffenders get close enough to touch him. What the hell will jackson break at 165 other than his own ribs. The late Darrent williams would make a punchin bag out of him he’s got the build of an 8th grader. and wouldnt that give us 3 slot receivers, thats a position that you want alot of depth and money invested into…… but if TRADE UP FOR DORSEY we dont have to worry about that
March 6th, 2008 at 12:28 pm
m.c. the great,
I agree w/you about Branden Albert. He can really move and can probably play tackle as well as guard. However, if you want to take an OL in the 1st round, why not a tackle? Some seem to think Clady. What do you think it would take to trade up for Glen Dorsey? The Broncos need to guard their draft choices. They need to go on a major youth movement and get players they can coach and mold into their own team. If trading up for Dorsey would mean giving up Domonique Foxworth or a bunch of other darft choices, I would be skeptical.
March 6th, 2008 at 1:56 pm
word on nfl network is that Boss Bailey has agreed to terms with a 5 yr/17.5 mil deal
