When you get a new video camera and start messing around with it, you can’t help but wonder — where does the day go? Anyhow, some quick notes from the morning practice …

ATTENDANCE REPORT: John Lynch did not practice in the morning session, but said he would work out during the afternooon practice. He has been on a one-practice-per-day session throughout training camp … Jarvis Moss practiced, but did not see much action in some periods of team drills and occasionally was favoring his injured left knee … Gerard Warren sat out the session … Louis Green returned to action and made some stops, including one where he pushed tight end Chad Mustard to the ground after the catch … Brandon Stokley was in uniform, but didn’t see any work in the team periods … Jacob Rogers returned to the field … Matt Lepsis, Ben Hamilton, Hamza Abdullah, Quentin Harris, Rod Smith and Warrick Holdman all remained on the sidelines.

WHO’S WHERE: Domonique Foxworth filled in for Lynch at strong safety … D.D. Lewis handled first-team strongside linebacking duties … Jimmy Kennedy took Warren’s spot on the first-team defensive line … Jeff Shoate lined up with the first-team nickel package as the third cornerback, with Foxworth moving to safety … Nate Jackson, Daniel Graham and Stephen Alexander worked with the first-team goal-line offense, but Tony Scheffler also saw time with the first unit.

POINTS OF EMPHASIS: Goal-line, run game, field goals and the no-huddle offense.

STANDOUT PLAYS: The “move-the-ball” period at the end of practice took place in the no huddle and saw the defensve eventually stop the offense on all four tries. The first-team defense held the No. 1 offense to a three-and-out and then a stop at the defense’s 15-yard-line, ending a 50-yard march highlighted by a 24-yard pass from Jay Cutler to Brandon Marshall, although it appeared that Ebenezer Ekuban had what could have been ruled a sack before pulling up, after which Cutler completed the pass. A 14-yard Cutler-to-Nate Jackson connection that saw the tight end tightrope the left sideline for the grab moved the offense into field-goal range … The No 2 defense squashed the efforts of the No. 2 offense; the Patrick Ramsey-led unit went three and out on its first try and then gained a first down on its second attempt before going backwards. The day finished with an incompleted Ramsey pass intended for Javon Walker.
