Who’s your Super Bowl Pick?

January 19th, 2009 - 8:11pm by mark_cooper

Coach McDaniels is picking his staff but we can chat about that next. Who’s your pick to win the Superbowl? Since I’ve bragged about how sharp all the troops are on this blog, let’s see who has the pick to WIN??

I gotta say that Piitsburg got that trophy all wrapped up and ready to drop deliver it to the owner! All respects to the Cards but the Steeler are just way to strong, I mean just look at the Defense (Broncos players and coaches should take notes on them)! They have Farrior, Woodley, and Harrison of which atleast one gonna blitz Warner every down! Then we have Ike Taylor, Deshead Townsend (spelling???) and Troy Polamolu (spelling???) who will be all over Fitzgerald and Boldin all game long! Then they got that great offense! Fast Willie is gonna come out the gates full speed al game, their eciever corp has speed and hands to boot, and as long as Big Ben doesn’t choke and become the turn over machine that he can be or like Jake Delhomme (spelling???) was then the Steel City is going to be the first with 6 trophies. Pit 31: Ari 24

Pittsburgh (((i CAN’T STAND,, cARD’S NO EXPERIENCE i’m going out a limb Pittsburgh, all “D” ALL DAY,, cARDS CINDERELLA WILL END IN DISSAPOINTMENT NICE RUN THOUGH , gonna take a miracle to beat the Steelers, I do want the Cardinals to win just don’t think they will, inexperience of hi-tower, EJ is slow, all they got is those awesome wr’S dEFENSE WINS cHAMPIONSHIPS,, sorry CARDS,, just ask the GIANTS, Ravens, and Buccaneers how they got their recent lombardi trophies,, low scoring game,, Pittsburgh 17 Arizona 13

sorry, but I gotta go with the Cards…their offense seems unstoppable at this point…we saw Dawkins, Mikell, and Sheldon Brown (all known for laying ferocious hits) all bounce off Fitz….I dont think Polomalu can do all by himself….guarantee he’ll make some plays plus the linebackers will abe in Warners face all day, but its going to be a field day for that Steelers DBs…
after seeing the NFC championship game, I think the Cards defense will feast off that banged up Steelers online….considering how Dockett, Smith, and Berry, handled those massive Eagle O-line…

I realy don’t care who wins it. But i think the Cards Are going to win.
    Cards 28
    Steelers 17

    Cardinals-24
    Steelers-20
    MVP:Kurt Warner, 27/38, 320 yards, 2 TD

Cardinals will put together a game winning drive down 3 with less than 5 minutes left.

    SB XIV pick:
    Broncos-63
    Eagles-10

    Go Denver!!!!

Roethlisberger is good because two starters are injured on the oline and the rest really suck and he is still able to make plays. Steelers 34-10, Steelers always beat teams without great defenses.

to be more exact with my pick I say slow back and forth action in first and second quarter. maybe 17-13 steelers at the half. but AZ is gonna finally start makin things happen bout end of the third. come the fourth the cards will put about 17 points on the board and they’ll stump the not so good pittsburgh O with good blitzes while their O is marching the field when they get the ball. AZ will get ahead by 2 scores then coast to the win. pittsburgh gets last TD but cards run out clock. Warner’s gonna have his teammates ready. wisenhunt too. Dont forget AZ found a defense and running game suddenly for the playoffs. if they forget to bring those to the superbowl with them then all bets are off. they’ll lose bad.

    steelers-27 cards-20

Steelers 29. Cards 16. You can’t help like Kurt+Fitzy+Boldin, but this is the 1st rodeo (except Kurt) so I think for 3 quarters they’ll give ‘em a go….Steel Curtain will put the lock down by the 4th quarter. is Hines going to play? AZ caught a big wave in Dec. That should be the mantra for the Broncos. Start fast, but play your BEST games AFTER Turkey day. We should be 5-0/4-1 last 5 weeks of the season. Get Mo on our side late Dec+early Jan. Look what the bolts+Phyllis did in ’08. Next year Broncos over Vikings in a barn burner….(might as well put $ on Lions making the play-offs…anything can happen in this league). punches n bunches

Looks like the majority went with the Cards….Me I like the Steelers…but I went 0-4 in the Playoffs so we’ll have to see what happens. Like I mentioned, I’d need a loan if I was a gambler. I hate to lose so I wouldn’t make a very good gambler.

Caught a bunch of redfish in Mosquito Lagoon near Titusvilee Florida over the weekend and had fun golfing at Tim Wakefields Charity Golf Tournament. It was interesting talking to Jim Rice who just went into the MLB Hall of Fame. He’s always at Tim Wakefields event so we chatted about the day he was confirmed and the interview curcuit he was on, etc. I’m not a big baseball guy/fan but admire athleticism just the same. Great player I just didn’t really follow the sport growing up but he got a very nice reception at the tournament. Congrats to him and his family.

By the way, the Space Coast Early Intervention Center is one incredible place. They help kids from about a year old that have disabilities integrate into the mainstream and it will bring tears to your eyes as you hear some of the incredible success stories. If you have friends or know anyone that has a special needs child, you need to tell them about this very special place.

Coach McDaniels made a number of hires and I like many of you only know what I’ve read about many of them. It’s somewhat like the draft…only time will tell.

I’m going on Mile High Sports radio hosted by Gil Whiteley tomorrow from 12-1, so if you get a chance, tune in. Gil and I did radio years ago, back in the 90′s and we’re sure to have some fun on AM 1510 KCKK.

Also, if you don’t have plans for the SUPER BOWL. I and a number of Alumni will be at Mikuni Sushi Restaurant and Bar for a SUPER BOWL PARTY, Sunday, February 1, 2009; 3:30PM, Park Meadows Shopping Center, benefits the local food bank.

Wow!! just thought about this…….. SUPER BOWL XLIII and I played in XXI……kinda makes you feel old…….nah!!!!!!!!!! :o )
