Hey Coach McDaniels WELCOME to the Mile High City. I’m not the first to welcome you, but have to tell you what your getting into.
The folks on this blog are passionate, rowdy, funny, well educated and know their football. They go off on each other like brothers and sisters do in the back seat of the car growing up, when they don’t agree with each other, but it’s even funnier.
Men, woman, boys and girls know their Broncos and the history of the franchise. We even have a few older southstanders that join in once in a while and southstanders is an attitude in Denver not a position in the stadium like it once was. The same snowballs that use to come out of the south stands now get thrown around in this blog from blogger to blogger like the one that bounced in front of the 49ers kicker years ago.
I personally learn quite a bit from these knuckleheads and they know what they’re talking about. Some real aficionado’s here with statistics and knowledge of the game and the personnel. Some great ideas and thoughts come from this group, so check us out once in a while.

And I totally agree with you when you said “It will always be MILE HIGH STADIUM to me.” I can never seem to spit out Invesco, Mile High always comes out instead. Never got why they named it Invesco… silly name if you ask me. Denver IS the Mile High City – I should know born & raised there – so it always made total sense to name the stadium after that. Yeah, they added it as like a tag line to Invesco but its just not the same, ya know?

07elway We all know why it’s called invesco,….. Wellington Webb lined his pockets to make it so, we didn’t even get a chance to vote on it. That’s why i will NEVER call it invesco! MILE HIGH ALL THE WAY!
Infact I would’nt have minded if they called it Mile High Stadium presented by Invesco but we were never given the choice. shame on you Mr. Webb.

monodono – I did not know that. At the time they built the new stadium & re-named it I was pretty young and the only thing I cared about was how the team was doing. But now that you’ve told me… Mr. Webb made a very stupid choice if you ask me. But its obvious money had everything to do with it… money money money, I am so sick of money.
It will always be Mile High for me… that should have been on Mr. Webb’s mind rather than “I have money so I’ll give this stadium a really stupid name that no one will understand, other than I named it this way b/c I have money.” Yes, Mr. Webb we get it you have money… now get a brain!!

Personally I know that’s how the world rolls but I think there should’ve been a comprimise and a vote, especially since the voters piad for most of it but invesco did pay for some of the stadium to be built for the rigts to name it. I just think it’s dirty.

I live in Texas and love the Broncos. I have been a Bronco Fan now for over 25 years and believe that Pat Bowlin made the right decision. I have been very dissapointed in Mike Shannahan’s plays over the last 2 years and i am VERY excited about McDaniels. I look forward to next season and wish McDaniels much success. GO BRONCOS!! I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!
monodono – it would only make sense for the taxpayers to have a say in what the name of the stadium should be especially since they end up paying for stuff like that. It is dirty how it works… the taxpayers fork over the majority of their hard-earned money (especially in today’s economy) to pay for a billion dollar project only to not have a say in what the name should be. Seems silly just saying that but letting the people who pay for the stadium, pay for the tickets, etc… they should at least have a say in what the name of the place should be. Of course to these billionaires we don’t have any right but to pay for everything. They don’t dare dream of being fair.
And I’ve got plenty of faith to go around for this team… although with this decision Bowlen made, it was definitely tested to its fullest. I’ve never been so on the edge about my faith in this team. Then I kept telling myself, this is my team… I’ve been a fan of this team since I was a baby, just because of this I can’t abandon this team. I don’t have it in me to just abandon the team I’ve known for my whole life… the Bronco Orange & Blue is engraved in me forever.

Coop….I can’t really stand that corporate crap either. Mile High is a way of life that no corporate dollar can easily penetrate….and hopefully other NFL teams can’t penetrate it either. Red Drum are a blast to catch by the way. Since you’re a FL boy your know that already. I use to catch them and bluefish in Mayport(Jax) FL when I was stationed there. Live finger mullet and small croaker were the bait of choice. Keep us posted on how the golf tournament goes and how many reds you pull out. SOUTH STANDS BABY!!!!
p.s. Broncos front office….Julius Peppers does not want to play in Carolina hint hint.

I hated to see Coach Mike go, with that said,
I believe Coop said it 110% right, that’s exactly how we fans are. A Crazy Community of Critiquing Citizens that cause blog Commotions…eh COOP!?!
Well Sir, you got a great class of rookies, of the likes the NFL has never seen!
First off, I can see, that you obviously see the keys to a successful defense is getting sound Defensive Coaching…that was 70% of the problem, ’nuff said!
Second, the “heart beat of our D has always come from the Mike LB, position”, so whatever you do start there first, then the DT (they are the fulcrum points of our prowess).
They need to be a ‘smart run stuffers’ with “wheels for coverage”. They ‘need’ to have a mouth to inspire the other players…..for decades we, the 12th Man, have resounded off the sparks and flares of our linebackers.
You see coach, the Heartbeat of our Mystique has always been in the Defense, despite what people think. Only true, and tenured bronco fans know that! Denver has always hinted at being the most ‘inspired’ D… only to never truly be “sustained by an inspiration long enough to Dominate” or to a Dynasty… Not since the Crush of the late 70′s.

Last, but not least,…
You have inherited what We call, “THE TRUTH” at the QB position.
Jay is a quarterback that needs to have ‘A PlayBook’ a little more “tailored” to ‘His Athleticism’, not because he’s behind the curve, but because HE IS NEO in the Matrix,….simply put….He’s The One!!! He is a QB anomoly… as I’m sure you know at the QB position. An accurate ‘rifle man’ with the Elusiveness of Randall Cunningham and an arm like…like…like..well quite frankly…like No One Elses in NFL History!!!
Create plays to “include” his scrambling abilities, almost as if they were designed for him to scramble a little bit,…then Watch Out,…touchdowns after touchdowns after touchdowns! In other words, Achieve with Us what wasn’t achieved in New England, an Offensive Juggernaut, at least one 17-0 season, and 4 out of 5 Super Bowl Rings!!!!
Under your Craftsmanship at Offensive Playcalling…We expect nothing short of a Dynasty!!!
