Turnovers, Penalties, Make for Tough Day

November 22nd, 2009 - 9:36pm by mark_cooper

Tough day today for the fellas. Yep, no need to even look at the stats on this one. Penalties all game were a concern and the turnovers were the nail in the coffin, you might say.

I’m not telling this crew anything you don’t know or didn’t see. Can’t win with turnovers and penalties like we had so…easy analogy. You know the drill. Simple stuff in the world of the NFL.

I noticed it last week and so did you and the announcers in that Chris Simms just took longer to get his reads and that is what is hurting him right now. I thought we would start out with the run and bootlegs getting him out of the pocket and then see if he’d settle in but he never got settled and got pulled early.

Kyle Orton looked awesome when he came in and drove us down the field, until the turnover by Knowshon Moreno going into the end zone. Don’t know if you noticed, but he had both hands on it (covered up) and a lineman’s knee knocked it out tumbling over…weird fumble.

Short week, Giants coming to town and I’ll be there for the game, taking one of my little guys.

Guess this could be called bandwagon week. We’ll see who’s jumping off the bandwagon and who’s sticking it out, right? I know what the the writers at the papers will be doing…throwing rocks…watch.

Hey, let’s hang tough and keep our chins up. I really like this team.

The best time to onside kick is when the other team does not expect it. We had just drove down got a field goal, old “MO” was with the team I could see it. The D had not stop SD all game had to take a chance.

This team is bad right now because they make to many mental mistakes. I do agree why was Moss in the game. How many 3rd and10, or 15 end up 3rd and 5 way to many on D. Same for the O 2nd and 3 turns into 2nd and 13.

With 8 men in the box we cannot stop the run. If they stop the run throw at Goodman he will be 5 to 10 yards off the receiver, Champ is not much better. When was the last time we got a turnover? When was the last time they got a meaningful sack and stripped the ball?

Who cares if the coach talks a little smack he young and having fun. I know when you all were young you never talked smack. God forbid.

We knew this was a rebuilding year and 6-0 was a fun ride. Keep buying tickets for that ride because McD and the Broncos will give us that ride again.

    Love those Broncos

  2. BeastFromEast92 says:

What are the chances of us maybe getting Wolfork off free agency next year??If we’re gonna keep getting Patriot players,he’s the one we really need.If we’re gonna play a 3-4 Defense we need a BEAST plugging up the middle(we’re getting killed by our run-D).

  3. RockyMts69 says:

Holy smokes Bay!!! :) Do I really have to say…?

I was nine. My family was living in Gunnison at the time. I know that was pretty young. But I still remember. Jon Keyworth and Lyle Alzado were my favorite players. I even remember the Carly Simon song ‘Nobody Does It Better’ seemed to be the Broncos anthem at the time.

Craig Morton, Norris Weese, Rick Upchurch, Red Miller, Alzado, and Keyworth. Those are about the only people I can remember from 1977.

  4. timmah says:

So Peyton Hillis fumbles once in the red zone and he is benched. Buckhalter and Moreno fumble many times and yet McD still plays them.
Does something about this coaching seem very suspicious? Just something to think about. Anyways if we do not get the power running game going we will not win anymore games. By the way there is no need to worry about the chargers their defense sucks; they will choke in the playoffs like always. The Broncos still have a chance to turn it around and make it into the playoffs. One more thing before I go, I think Marshall had every reason to call out Moreno, he doesn’t take control of the ball like he should and it should have been noted instead of passed off like it has in the past.

    Go Broncos!!!

  5. BradJamesBroncoFan says:

I will not give up. I will not flinch. I am ready to see the Broncos break out of this funk and get back to their winning ways. GO BRONCOS!!!

  6. bronco-blaze says:

Well i would like to apologize to The royal beast and LBwilson or something like thAt about simms. Simms didnt play well at all and i eneded up eating my words. I still however believe in this team and will be rooting my heart out and screaming at all the bads. Keep our heads up bronco fans!! IF ORTON STAYS HEALTHY EXPECT WINS TO COME!!. Beating the giants will land us a big statement, and hopefully KC beats the chargers… ITs possible.

    Go broncos!!!

  7. baylinorcrush says:

Rocky, I was living in Lafayette and working in Longmont in 77, a quart of beer was the same price as a gallon of gas, always under a dollar! LOL.

  8. brian_schneider says:

This will be the first game I don’t get to watch because it is on NFL Network, and I don’t have that channel. I’m going to be at my wifes family for Turdkey Day and they don’t have that channel..they don’t even have internet. I know right, who doesn’t have internet in this day and age…totally disconnected from the world LOL! So I’ll be checking my phone constantly to see the score. I’ll be surely dissapointed if we win and I didn’t even get to see it.

    Go Broncos!!!!!

  9. baylinorcrush says:

Truly sorry to hear that, brian.

  10. brian_schneider says:

Probably better for everyone involved. I can get a little crazy when I watch the Broncos…ok I get a lot crazy. Hopefully all the good food will make up for missing the game.

  11. baylinorcrush says:

About the turkey game, of course here is to hoping we win, but first let’s consider this:

Last Sunday the Giants scored 34 points against the Falcons in a home record throwing performance by Ely Manning with 25 of 39 for 384 yards and 3 TD’s (1 int).

During the last three games, teams have run against us to the tune of 173, 174 and 203 yards respectively. The Giants are bringing in town the punishing running tandem of Jacobs and Bradshaw.

Our O is 25th in scoring with 17 points per game, tied with three 1-9 teams, TB, Cleveland and the Rams.

This not an alert, simply a friendly annoucement that trouble is on the way. What are we going to do about it? What kind of team do we really have? Stay tuned…

  12. baylinorcrush says:

But, like this poster, Shawn723, said yesterday (the one I want to sell a bridge to) ” there is nothing to be worried about”. LOL.

  13. brian_schneider says:

We should be worried, we haven’t played a good game now for 4 weeks striaght. We haven’t gotten the offense going for 4 weeks straight. The D has been underacheiving for 4 weeks straight. We’ve been losing the turnover margin for 4 weeks straight. We’ve lost for 4 weeks straight. I’m remaining 60% optimistic 30% pesimistic 10% worried. If we would be playing well and just losing then I wouldn’t be so worried, but the D is getting overtaken, the O isn’t producing and the ST..well aside from Royal’s two big returns not a lot has been happening. I’m worried in that we might not win another game. I though KC and OAK were for sure Ws well I’m not so sure now. All I’m sayin’ is I’m worried yet supportive.

  14. baylinorcrush says:

To me it is obvious that our downfall, if there is to be one, will be our inability to stop the run, well ok, there has already been a downfall and we haven’t beeen able to stop the run. LOL.

We all knew our major area to address in the draft was the D line, except McD, that is a fact. He made his bed, now he has to sleep in it, right next to Moreno…LOL.

BTW, unless McD gets hit by lightning or something, it is a certainty that he will not give Hillis a fair chance since Moreno is the guy he mortgaged the house on. Moreno here, Moreno there, Moreno everywhere, little bit of Bucky here and there, Hillis nowhere, and lots of fumbles to go around, bummer!

  15. brian_schneider says:

What I don’t understand is how can the fans see all these glaring issues and McD can’t or won’t address them. Like I said before it is kind of like the bandaid on a bullet wound, sooner or later the bandaid is going to come off and take all the hairs with it.

  16. baylinorcrush says:

Brian, from my own experience, it’s simply that McD is so young for this profession, none of the sharp edges have been rounded yet and he is like a bull in a china shop, sets a goal, ways to achieve it, goes for it no matter what because he does it his way, and his way is better than anybody else’s way, its just juvenile arrogance in a way, and this losing stretch and quagmire he is finding himself in could be going a long way to him realizing he just can’t keep on with this idelogy in search of winning without making concessions and adjustments in his coaching philosophy. That is what men do when they mature, they adapt. He has not yet matured at the HC position, not anywhere close. But when he does, watch out. Hopefully Bowlen will be patient enough with him to give him three years, I think he’ll need at least that.

  17. baylinorcrush says:

Coop will never be able to read through all his blog, hahahaha! This is as long as our last 4 second halves have been. LOL.

  18. brian_schneider says:

I’m sure Bowlen will be patient for the most part. Mainly because we’ve see improvement in all areas. I think Bowlen will let it play out a little before he pulls the plug. It is the fans that I’m worried about. Myself included are sometimes too quick to call for the chopping block.
I said this at the beggining of the season, that I’d be happy with 8-8 or 9-7. We are “rebuilding” but after a season or two you can no longer use that term. So I expected a rocky season, I didn’t expect we’d go 6-0 right away. But I guess all great HC start somewhere right..can’t always start at the top.

  19. broncochick1 says:

Thank God we are not going to have to pay Kyle Orton at the end of this year. I was a little worried but after his injury issues and now our sudden implosion I think we are safe. We obviously can’t trust Simms and JMAC also doesn’t trust Brandstater so we have nothing under center. I like KO as a teammate but his ability will not allow him to be the future of this organization.

  20. baylinorcrush says:

Brian,I am not specifically referring to you when I say that, but I love it, all year long I have been professing this to be a rebuilding year and I have been chastised by most who said to rebuild this year is not acceptable considering we were 8-8 last year, and in the last couple of days a flock of people here have come to the conclusion that, yeah, this is a rebuilding year! I guess its a way to feel better about themselves about where we’re at now. Live and learn… Nothing better than living it out to get it, you can try to teach til you’re blue in the face, won’t do anygood.

  21. baylinorcrush says:

broncochick, unlike you, I am not so quick at discarding Orton, I have seen a lot of very good stuff from him of late in the middle of this collapse on and off the field, he is showing real leadership, don’t be shocked if he remains the man.

  22. brian_schneider says:

I don’t know how anyone could not call it a rebuilding year. When you clean house and get rid of a majority of the coaching staff and players and bring in new..that’s rebuilding. When you bring in a few free agents and rookies in the draft..that’s not rebuilding.

Oh were going to pay Kyle Orton maybe not a huge deal but I bet he’ll get a contract extension. Everyone thinks we’ll draft a QB..I don’t know I would rather see our first pick go towards a NT.

  23. baylinorcrush says:

problem with the upcoming QB class is no one sticks out like a sure thing. Things have not changed since last draft, we still need help on the D line more than anywhere else. Thing is will McD see that this time around?

  24. brian_schneider says:

I think McD knew we needed help at the D-line. Since we made the switch to a 3-4 I think he wanted some veterans that have played in a 3-4 to help with the transition. Hopefully we can get some beef in there some big physical guys so our LBs aren’t getting blown away by their O-line.

  25. Broncfalls says:

Brian_Schneider ***** I feel your pain sort of. I told my wife I will be leaving the dinner early to go to the local pub :) Family will just have to deal with it! Gotta priortize I told her :) LOL!!!!

if you want to give me your cell number. I’ll give you text messages that’ll keep you involved. A lot of them! LOL!

It’s your call my fellow bronco fan….just let me know!

    GO GET EM’ BOYS!

  26. mcdanielsdomain09 says:

Not to take anything away from chris simms bcuz i like the guy. and im a big fan of his pops. but did anybody else notice how quickly things turned around and how finely tuned the offense was as soon as kyle stepped back on the field. Not to mention if knowson doesnt fumble in the endzone we score and were only down a very manageable 13-7. but the fumble kinda set the tone for the rest of the game. Nonetheless i think that Mcdaniels has already shown his offensive genius and has turned Kyle Orton into quite the QB. rough four weeks coach but i still love what ur doin. And i like our chances in the future with this guy @ QB

  27. brian_schneider says:

@Broncfalls: Thanks for the offer but I have an app on my phone that does pretty much the same thing. Still not quite as good as watching it though. Thanks for the offer, I’ll have to keep you in mind if I ever have to miss a game.

When Orton came out on the field it seemed like he was angry and pretty much said OK let me show you how it is done. Its kind of like when your a kid and your dad tries to teach you how to do something and you still can’t quite get it and he gets mad and says “here.. THIShow you do it”

    Go Broncos!!!!

  28. coachemup says:

brian_schneider: I agree with you, that i don’t so much mind losing games but the way that were losing is whats getting my craw as well! stupid penalties, fumbles and just no accountability. Vonny holliday said that the game film is going to show them who wants to be on this team and who doesn’t so don’t be surprised if we hear about a fight here or there at dove valley (just dont do it at invesco lol..). Also, I like what Orton has brought to this team as far as toughness and accountability goes. He said in his press conference that forget about what we have to do run the ball, pass the ball, we just need to get a win! he also said that he has been in 4 game losing streaks before and then went on to a 9 game winning streak. If thats the case this time it would put us right about where we want to be (Super Bowl champs I love his math) lol………………GO BRONCOS!!!!

    coach

  29. Broncfalls says:

@ Brian_Schneider – yeah, let me know if I can ever help you out.

With that said, your Orton call was spot on. I was thinking of the same thing just couldn’t find the analogy to put it together.

I’ll tell you what was even more interesting. I’m watching this game at the local pub and they always give me the big screen with surround sound.

You would have thought Elway came out of retirement when Orton stepped on that field. Then that drive he did….I bet it was electric @ Invesco….

If there was a positive about that game it would have to be the 360 support Orton has got. You criticize him when he was in there, but boy did we miss him for 1 1/2 qtrs. LOL!

    But hey, let’s move forward.

Brian_Schneider…..i like your thoughts. Maybe this is the game Orton says “I’m done f*$!ing around! Let’s Go!!!”

GETTING FIRED UP AGAIN 50 + HRS AND WE’RE KICKING OFF AGAIN!!!

    GO GET EM’ BOYS!

  30. jwalkbmarsh says:

Anyone know why Scheffler was not in the game more?

  31. Broncsfan83 says:

I just saw on ESPN they think that Denver is a contender for making the playoffs. They think that the problems are no with the Defense but with the offense not sustaining drives. It was broke down and T.O.P. killed us the last 4 games and turnover. McDaniels needs to see moreno as a liablility and put Hillis in let Hillis run over some defenders. I see us breaking out of this funk and keep swinging. I think we can beat NY and get some confindence to run the table. Only two games im really worried about Philly and Ind. It also depends on what Philly team shows up. GO DENVER lets get a win and back on track.

  32. Bronco-blaze says:

I dont know if any one else did this but when i saw orton warming up i screamed “SAVE US ORTON!!!!!” lol Oh man oh man when he came on the field i saw the chargers almost crap themselfs they didnt know what to do or how to stop him it seemed. HONESTLY GUYS I WANT TO POINT THIS OUT SO PLEASE LISTEN!!!

I think with mcdaniels system its a hit or miss. If you dont produce to it, we will lose by a large margin. If we do we will win. FOR EXAMPLE. DId any of you notice that in all of our loses we were in the game ?? What i mean is..On sunday we were in the redzone on our first drive..COuld have gotten 7..FUMBLE. Again when orton came in..FUMBLE. THink of it..We make those 2 its 14-13. ALSO if orton was in to begin with, we prob would have scored more pts on those 3 and outs.

REDSKINS GAME. We were torching the number 2 pass defense **im sure its number 2** AS soon as orton threw it deep our chances INCREASED DRAMATICALY!! Why? cuz orton is a dangerous QB when he stretches the field, cuz it allows him to open up the pass game short which is his work.!!

STEELERS GAME!!!! Every qb has those games.SPecialy starting his first season. If i remember if that turn over never happened the steelers wouldnt have scored any points in the first half. THATS AMAZING!! If we would have produced we would have blown them out!!!!

Ravens game!!!! Yet another tough loss but we held them to 6 points was it? in the first half? Once again, eliminate the penalties and get points on the board. BLOW OUT!!

FANS THIS BRONCO TEAM is like a car in the cold colorado weather. It runs reliable in the summer but in the winter , sometimes starts and sputters. ALl you have to do is keep trying at it and by the 4th to 5th time the car starts and runs smoothly. THAT IS OUR SEASON FANS!! AS SOON AS WE GET THIS CAR STARTED WATCH OUT!! We would have beaten the Ravens, We would have beaten the steelers w/o mistakes and penalties. WE WOULD HAVE BEATEN THE SKINS, If Kyle didnt get a rare injury before half time!. AND I BELIEVE WE WOULD HAVE GAVE THE CHARGERS A GAME MINUS THE FUMBLE AND BS CALLS BY THE REFFS!!

WE HAve to support Mchoodie all we can cuz he is our leader. And i respect the guy for getting us to 6-0 cuz im sure non of you were crying and bsing when we were on that streak. IT disgusts me to hear people call into KOA and say OH NOW WE WANT CUTLER, Oh mcdaniels Sucks. You people are horrible. LETS NOT FORGET! that our players are letting us down too. IF they would produce at the level they are capable of we would be 9-1 at the least right now. BEcause from what i see, if you follow mcdaniels system you have a high chance to win. AND OHH WATCH OUT NEXT YEAR! cuz if orton stays for another year we will be rolling. ANd if we get another QB or start tom, and they put in the extra time and efffort. WOW

-Also i would like to hear about marshall and tom or orton doing extra practice togeather.

-AND FOR EVERYONE AGAINST ORTON! how can you say he is not a leader!!!! HE went out in that game on a bum ankel and risked injuring it to save us! THat produced alot of respect in my eyes for orton..

SORRY FOR THE LONG POST!! DOubt many of you read it any way lol. \

    GO broncos!

  33. jwalkbmarsh says:

I saw Moss trying to rush the passer, but where is Ayers now? is already being a healthy scratch?

  34. BoltRaiderHater says:

I do believe Orton is the leader of this team. After the Baltimore & Pittsburg losses, McD knew he had to change his scheme and he did for the last two games, just unlucky that Orton went down. Those last 2 could have easily been wins. We have to win 4 more games, that would put us at 10-6. SD has (I pray as I type) a rough December going 1-3 ending up at 10-6. We still own the tiebreaker right? I think our chances are better to win the division then to get in as a wild card. BUT, there are no gimmie games left, Oak and KC are always tough I don’t care about thier records.
We did beat 4 teams that lead thier division (Cincy, Dallas, New England & SD).
And about Hillis, he did have 6 TD’s last year (5 rush & 1 rec). I wish McD would let him of the chain. We need more rushing TD’s in the red zone.
Of course all is for not if we can’t win the turnover battles and stop the bad penalties.

  35. brian_schneider says:

At the beggining of the season we were balls to the wall. We had somethin’ to prove to ourselves and the critics. We were fired up ready to go, we were in the drivers seat on the open road. Then week 7 happens and we pull into the paking lot for our bye. We’re gettin’ ready to leave the parkin lot and all of a sudden we hit a bump, lose a couple, then we hit another bump lose 1 more, then when we finally think were out of the parking lot we frickin’ hit ANOTHER bump and lose one more. Its like parking garages, those things are sometimes crazy to get out of. However eventually you do get out of it and the first thing is you’re mad..well with me I’m really mad. I’m like why do they have to make it so hard to get out of those darn things. I hope that’s what we’re like this week. Mad about how we’ve been playin’ and ready to finally step up and do something. Get back on the open winning road.

    Go Broncos!!!!

  36. Greatness007 says:

As I pointed out on another site. Moss was in the game now cuz of performance in practice. He was killing Tyler in practice. So they thought it was Moss playing hard. Not tylers enability. lol

Like I said on another site. Why didn’t we get Chris McAlister If there was a need for a DB?? Her knows Nolan’s system. Ty Law doesn’t. We got Ty not for need. He needed the money. Another mouth to feed is all the why for that.

Hillis should be our redzone runner. McD wants Moreno to be our every down back. Buck is now a fill in when Moreno is tired. Moreno is his pick to be the man in the backfield. Only reason Hillis dressed is cuz Jordan was hurt.

  37. Greatness007 says:

    He not Her*

  38. brian_schneider says:

McD will eventually figure out it is ok to make mistakes and be able to admit them.

  39. broncomike83 says:

All I want for my Birthday this thanksgiving is a Bronco WIN!!! Is that too much to ask. I have forgotten what it is like to win. Please god help us though this one.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!!! Go Broncos!!!!

  40. The #1 says:

Come on Man!!! You didn’t have to pull my card like that Greatness. lol I can’t take some of your knowledge and bring it over here. I see you showed your coworkers the fact over there. Now they praising us again. To a degree though. It seems alot of people was saying it’s not the D’s fault. People were like who cares. They need to stop people. Now they see it on T.V. about the T.O.P.. Now people realize. lol

KC next week if a must win. From there on all games are must win. It has to be looked at like that. Jags are above us cuz of conference. We beat the AFC teams and one NFC will be in great position.

  41. Greatness007 says:

My bad Champ!! I was watching the live press conference. I had to let them know where the seed came from. You just took the pollen little bee. lol J/K

I hope the back ups at S are ready. Dawkins meets Jacobs in the hole. We might need them asap. If you read between the lines. He had a talk with Marshall and Moreno about everything.

Orton looks confident so that’s a good sign. Hope we can produce points. I think we shall.

  42. stevecan2 says:

Hmm for the first time in awhile I have to disagree with baylin…

“”Brian, from my own experience, it’s simply that McD is so young for this profession, none of the sharp edges have been rounded yet and he is like a bull in a china shop, sets a goal, ways to achieve it, goes for it no matter what because he does it his way, and his way is better than anybody else’s way, its just juvenile arrogance in a way, and this losing stretch and quagmire he is finding himself in could be going a long way to him realizing he just can’t keep on with this idelogy in search of winning without making concessions and adjustments in his coaching philosophy. That is what men do when they mature, they adapt. He has not yet matured at the HC position, not anywhere close. But when he does, watch out. Hopefully Bowlen will be patient enough with him to give him three years, I think he’ll need at least that. “”

Every thing said about McD here is the same for Shanahan. Talk about a coach that refused to make concessions and be over arrogant. I mean think about the agony of seeing so many “odd” player activations the last few years. He ran with his style and was so arrogant he thought he could just plug anyone in and let er ride. So as I do see rookie mistakes from the coach, I as should most fans be excited about our coaching staff. I myself only fault the coaching staff when players execute and still find it hard to win. We started hot and were figured out and some times just out coached. Which by the way McD has been able to admit this feat. Pretty impressive for such a young buck if you ask me.

As for Hillis, I am not completely certain but something, like the fact I believe he has missed at least 3 practices now due to personal issues, if there is an underlying issue at work here. Moreno is playing like a rookie, his vision, possession will only improve. I am comfortable with him at TB in the years to come. The overall picture that McD wants to take this team is good for him. I highly doubt there was a desire to have him lead the team in carries already but has happened.

  43. brian_schneider says:

I don’t whether it was right of Marshall to call out Moreno like that especially in a game. While the fumble was a freak thing since Russ’ knee hit the ball you gotta hold on to the ball. Here I go with my analogies again..You know when you’re a kid and you do something stupid and your parent(s) give you the OK don’t let it happen again, then you do it again and they give you the “I’m disappointed look” and don’t say anything, then you do it again and that’s when you get chewed out. While I don’t think Marshall should have been the one to call Moreno out, but seems like if you don’t get that butt chewin’ you’re going to continue to make mistakes. I do like Marshall tryin’ to be a leader though.

    Go Broncos!!!!

  44. vraptor567 says:

been a tough 4 games, notable has been the lack of offensive TD’s regardless of who u want to blame we are not getting on the board, going along with that and maybe as a result our D has just plain looked anemic, where are the sacks the takeaways the turnovers? just not there, could be because they r spending to much time on the field, but you can just see the lack of electricity they had in the first 6. On the offense: lets face it Simms doesn’t cut it, KO definitely has heart and can lead but his lack of a long ball is taking its toll, and as others have mentioned why are we not playing Hillis? a good coach puts aside personal issues and learns to take one for the team, McD is still showing his greenhorn side, but then again his mentor pulled that snafu on 4th down against the colts a couple games ago so who knows. The real burn comes from putting our Broncos on NFL network for this weeks game, feeling “sold out” on that one not by the Broncos by the NFL who sold the rights. Oh well I’ll catch the highlights, wearing my lucky jersey anyway, the old 84 jersey (my number 6 is used to wash the truck)
    GO BRONCOS

No bandwagon here Coop…I traveled from California to Colorado for 2 games this season, a win against NE and a loss to SD. I’ll still make that trek later this year for Oakland or next year for Kansas City…Win or Lose Broncos Fan 4 Life!!

  47. broncoterry says:

People Hillis is not the answer!! He is not playing because he is the 3rd best back in camp.

The D has not had a 3 and out forever.

The O cannot hang onto the ball.

The ST are so so at best…….

    Coaching at times is suspect.

Add it up it is a team problem. Not because one man is playing or not.

The team will be fine when they get their heads into the game, stay in their gaps, stop fumbling the ball, stop the yellow flags from flying, stop fighting each other. Play as a team. Stop the mental mistakes.

  48. baylinorcrush says:

broncoterry, Hillis has been the x factor in the past, the spark the whole team fed on, I wouldn’t disregard him as a factor as you do… You gotta start somewhere, he could be that again. Of course, the entire team is lacking in just about everything right now, that’s why something special, unexpected, is needed to ignite everyone. I can’t think of anyone who would have more to bring to the team emotionally wise than Hillis if he comes through big. You are just talking x’s and o’s, I’m talking an emotional lift, which is exactly what this team needs right now, because it is in the dump, whether we like it or not.

WOW…..I took Evelyn Wood’s speed reading lessons to keep up with this weeks blogsters. You all are great and I know I say that a lot BUT REALLY as a former player you guys/gals really bleed Blue and Orange and I really respect that and it gives me great pride to know how loyal you all are.

O.K. “first things first”…Happy Turkey day to you all and God Bless!!

Secondly….Bandwagon week (I hear ya myke) is going as expected….Media “moonwalking” better than Micahel Jackson imagined…except they don’t have the white glove on :o ) wuuz uppp?

A lot of………well…Um…I meant….they were….what I meant was…..I’m actually enjoying it because it what they do…talk to hear themselves talk…ever hear that expression :o ) I did as a kid. Funny!!!!

SBXXI…was there and can go into detail if you have any questions….ask away. You all had some good stories…lost bets…..fun times…a few parties, right…..what’s done is done and you probably don’t really regret any of it…much anyway, or what you can remember and if you can’t remember, it didn’t happen, right? :o )

72 Dolphins…they were my Team at the time as a younster growing up in Miami.

If you’re at the game tomorrow come by the Broncos Barn out on the southside of the stadium and say hi, I’ll be there from 5-5:30….just say you’re a blogster!!! We’ll take a pictue and put it up on the blog.

Giants week…Turkey day game, need some leadership from the Vets, new week, win one in a row and we’re back on track and then build it week by week but we have to start somewhere. Turkey day is day ONE.

Not sure I really need to add the analysis above or agree or disagree you all covered it pretty well with some HEAT baby. Tough loss personally I’d have left Simms is longer and when the score got wore would have put him back in. That’s me but I coach from a lounge chair. Easy to do but I’d have lived and died with Simms. Still plenty of season left to catch up and or get re-tooled. We’re not out of it totally even though most folks are doing the math. ONE win will change everything WATCH.

Giants are tough…no easy game here. We have to play like we did early in the season….that’s a big….duh right. broncoterry said above, The team will be fine when they get their heads into the game, stay in their gaps, stop fumbling the ball, stop the yellow flags from flying, stop fighting each other. Play as a team. Stop the mental mistakes.

60 minutes of that and we should win….simple, right? Nah, that”s why we watch.

I’ll check back in before the game and comment then see you after the Giants game.

Everything was going so well before the bye week, maybe we should have our bye week in the last week next year.

One thing I am curious about is why we have gone away from zone blocking for the running game? It was a Broncos trademark, and was very successful even with non-elite running backs.
