Tough going in D.C.

November 15th, 2009 - 5:48pm by mark_cooper

I got all the snow blown and the rest shoveled in time for the game. Maybe we’d have been better playing here this week. A snow bowl would have been great for the ski country. I don’t know about you all but I’m in shoveling shape.

Tough going in Washington. I enjoyed the running game and was impressed that we were getting that back on track and the blah blah blah about going vertical was taken care of early…simple. It’s easy to run a go route when you set it up with the run when you have guys like Royal and Marshall around.

The defense was dominated at the line of scrimmage and injuries are mounting. We talked about it earlier in the year and may be looking it right in the face now. Simms was rusty as we should expect and he’ll get a lot of work this week in preparation for the Bolts. I still like him but he took a lot of criticism after the game on the radio.

Boy, the stats we’re ugly in every category, almost not worth mentioning at this point. Tough day in the trenches. I said don’t panic last week but I’m a little concerned now myself in that the defense is taking it on the chin and I’m not sure what the fix is.

The fake field goal hurt when they showed it early and you have to rack that up to inexperience and a great roll out buying time by the kicker.

Hochstein played great at left guard. I was impressed and the Redskins put Haynesworth over Clady? You go figure that one out.

Folks were killing the team on the radio shows after the game. I had some errands to run and WOW, was I surprised how fast folks go for the throat. Concerned is one thing…still fixable….but jumping all over the guys is another.

After a game like that, it’s get over it quick…regroup…learn from mistakes and get back on the horse and let’s go get the Bolts.

New week, New gameplan and go. Great questions last week and I’ll always try to answer specifically or globally.

Go Broncos!! Big game this week to stay in the hunt.

Well everyone has an opinion. I am going to do something I have never done before. And make my prediction now, I hope I am as wrong in my first two predictions as making them here and now. Chargers 41 Broncos 13. We finish the season 9-7 missing the playoffs. Next year we win the f#&#^ing Super Bowl!

  2. Myke says:

I don’t know about the rest of you but I’m hearing it like crazy over here in Southern Cal…these Charger “fans” are now coming outta the woodwork & were praying for a chance to win this upcoming game against us. I told some of them, do you really wanna back into the AFC West lead by wanting teams to beat Denver? Well I got a resounding yes! They want teams to beat us instead of going at us one on one! Well now they get both…I got tix to the game with my Charger girlfriend & her Charger kids so I’m telling ya Broncos fans…I don’t wanna see you guys sitting on your Duff as the Defense is out on the field…I want you to leave the field with a sore throat & a headache from screaming your head off like I normally do & will always do at my teams games…I wanna take that 14 hour drive back to California with a big smile on my face singing Denver Broncos AFC West Division Champs…I wanna say hey Charger Fans it took you 20 some odd years to sweep Denver & it only took us 3 years to do it to you. Let’s go get ‘em this week Denver!!!

    GO BRONCOS!!

P.S. Please don’t fret about Simms, remember before he got hurt in Tampa Bay he was a good QB so I know all of last Sunday was pure rust! Coach McD will get this kid on track!

  3. beefdirkus says:

I read a lot of posts where people are down on the Defense. I agree they did not have the best game but the offense needs to help them out. The offense scored 0 points in the second half. The offense had 36 total yards in the second half, yes 36 total yards in a half. I understand Orton got hurt and Simms was rusty but that in not the defenses fault.
There are not many teams that are going to win when you give up a special teams TD, the offense turns it over a couple of times and the offense gets 36 yards in a half without scoring any points.
I am not saying the defense does not have some issues but in all the losses the Defense has been on the field the entire second half because the offense goes 3 and out or turns the ball over.

  4. eternalorangeandblue says:

man this season got real ugly real fast. I agree when people say we need to win out of course because I would like to see the broncos do that but its very unrealistic that we get all these problems fixed in a week. SD is getting better and healthier, nothing new there, we are getting worse by the week and getting hurt. I hate to be a pessimist but things arent looking good for us. such a shame and a disappointment after the explosive start out of the gate. seems to be that our team just collapses every year at this point and I for one am SICK OF IT!!!

  5. KMA says:

Coop, thanks for the post, I’m concerned like you but still think that good things are on the way.
Question, does the fact that Simms is a lefty change everything the O line is doing as far as protection and did that affect some of the lack of success yesterday?
thought of course being that with a week of work, they will be ready to go if Simms gets the call.
    Thanks Coop!!

  6. baylinorcrush says:

beefdirkus, the most points Washington has scored all year until they played us is 17 points. Granted we got scored on ST once, but that’s still 20 points our D gave up, 3 more than the Redskins scored all year, and D is supposed to be our strength! In my opinion, you are wrong, just having them scoring a single TD against us would of surprised me, I predicted they would score two FG’s, that’s all. HUGE let down by the D, no matter how you want to spin it. IMO.

  7. beefdirkus says:

    Eternal:
I hear ya. It is so frustrating to follow the team and then they lose. Yesterday was very disappointing loosing to a 2-6 team that has all sorts of issues including coaching. I think Denver wins if Orton did not get hurt. The offense was finally starting to play well.
This weekend will be the season, if the broncos somehow win they have a chance. If they loose I do not think they will make the playoffs. I think the Broncos need to win the division to make the playoffs. Steeler have one wild card basically locked up and has the tie break against Denver (Cinci is going to win the North). So that leaves one wild card spot left for the rest of the AFC. Denver still has to play the Giants, Indy, Phili and at KC (which is always a tough game).
The Charges have a little easier schedule. It is a MUST WIN this weekend and I hope the team plays like it.
I hope they can get it back together and start winning.

  8. brian_schneider says:

No matter how you look at it everyone needs to play better. Yeah the D were on the field for a significant portion of the 2nd half. They need to man up and tackle and make a stop and get off the field. The O yeah they need to sustain drives, not turn the ball over, score points. All three phases need to come together at the same time in the same game week in and week out. Everyone needs to perform better…EVERYONE.

  9. beefdirkus says:

    baylinorcrush:
I know the defense did not have the best game but come on, the offense had 36 total yards in the second half. How can you expect the defense to hold up when the offense gets 36 yards in a half. Like I said, I know Orton got hurt, if he played the second half I think the Broncos win.
I agree that the defense needs to get agressive again, more physical and learn to tackle. But this is the 3rd game in a row that the defense has been on the field for most of the second half with no help from the offense. IMO.
Does anyone know how many points to offense has scored in the second half the last 3 games?

  10. beefdirkus says:

    Brian,
I agree, it is a team effort and I think everything needs to improve- offense, defense and ST.

  11. LBWilson56 says:

I too must apologize like Brian Schneider..i may have said some things outta too many beers and utter emotion..i didnt swear like B,but still..i love this team and will always have their back…on to next week!!!We will fix this!!!!

  12. brian_schneider says:

Maybe now we’ll man up and play like we’re capable of. The beginning of the season we played like we had something to prove. All that talk about what we were going to do throughout the season. Then we started winning 6-0 and after that its kind of like we just don’t care anymore. It seems like well we showed them that we won’t go 3-13 but that’s about it. Maybe if every game seems like a do or die the mentality the players will have will be a bit more fired up and focused. I’ll tell you what this next game is the season. SD is coming on strong, real strong. We need to take care of them once and for all.

  13. beefdirkus says:

    Brian,
I could not agree more. Like I said in my earlier post. The game this weekend is the season. If they lose to SD, I do not see the Broncos making the playoffs. I think they need to win the division to get to the playoffs.

  14. rayjr26 says:

my quick 2 cents… cant blame this one on the offenses lack of production. granted 2nd half there was no production, but where was the defense the first half? they ran the ball on us all game! not just the 2nd half! they may have been tired come 4th quarter, but come on!! sad to watch… i had deja vu in a big way.. looked like the broncos from last year, and the year before, and the year before that, and the year before that! what defense? i just dont understand what happened to this team! offense was lookin sharp yesterday! i was so excited and encouraged after our first drive for a TD.. defense enters the field and WHAMMO.. 70 yrds, for a TD and 6 mins off the clock! i fail to see how that is the offenses fault! and do we have the worst special teams in the league? sure looks like it to me. besides bergers punt that went like 65 yds (half of which was a bounce and a bunch of rolling) the rest of the special teams was terrible!! their punter threw a TD against us? on a play we knew was coming? you must be joking. who is our special teams coach because MCD needs to seriously evaluate that guy. you mean to tell me the 11 guys we have on the ST unit are just not as good as what every other team puts on the field? hogwash!!!!! orton stays in the game we win imo. simms maybe does better with a week of practice, but i dont really want to have to find out! do you?
    Go Broncos
    “DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS”

  15. brian_schneider says:

@beefdirkus: Yeah, I’d rather get in with winning the division than wishing for other teams to choke. The one thing I am glad about is this weeks game is in Denver. Hopefully that will help out more than it did against Pittsburgh.

  16. baylinorcrush says:

You gotta love the enthusiasm of the posters who say don’t worry, we will be fine, we can still win the division, if not we’ll get in as a wild card, etc, etc… Guys I have a bridge for sale. LOL.

On the other hand plenty of realistic posters who realize the must win games have already been played and lost, the first one was Pittsburgh, then the Skins and in my mind EVEN IF WE BEAT SD this week, which would be one of the biggest upset of the year at this point, the rest of their schedule is much easier, they always finish strong, we have a very tough schedule except for two games (yes at KC in December is brutal), we could STILL LOSE THE DIVISION. I rather lower my expectations for the remainder of the season, so I don’t get anymore heartbreaks than I’ve already experienced:

    6-0 in September/October,
    then 0-3 in November.
Evaporation of a 3 game division lead in 3 games.
Ran over by what felt like a bulldozer for 3 weeks in a row by the likes of Rice, Mendenhall and Betts.
ST giving short fields to the opposition most of the time.
    Injuries mounting…..

Sorry, guys, I wish I could have a better outlook for us, but I’m buying the theory that we are all but mathematically done with our post season run. We have already played the must win game. Good teams beat lowly opponents they are supposed to beat, average teams don’t. Good teams make the playoffs, average teams don’t. I , like others here, apologize for my pessimism, but I can’t ignore the obvious for a 4th week in a row.

A lot to learn for McD from his first year in coaching, that’s for sure.

  17. brian_schneider says:

    I don’t know what’s worse:
Starting 6-0 and then the possibility of squandering the rest of the season away
Starting 2-4 or something like that then comming on strong close to the end
Just winning here and losing there ending the season 8-8….again.

  18. brian_schneider says:

I would be so worried but we don’t have a consistant rushing attack.

  19. brian_schneider says:

    *wouldn’t*

  20. brian_schneider says:

Is this how Detoit feels after every game????

  21. baylinorcrush says:

brian, you are right, I have personally been wary of those hot starts over the last few years. I would much rather do what the majority of the good teams do every year, starting out slowly and coming on strong when it counts. That seems to be an easier way not to burn out if you ask me. Unless you have Brady or Manning on your team of course, those guys can do it either way. Fot those of you who saw the Colts-Pats game last night, like 07 did, man, are we miles behind those teams as far as execution or what? We are just not good enough to represent ourselves proudly in the playoffs, just like last year. This is humiliating enough in my book, I don’t know that I could take much more, the rest of the regular season should be plenty.

  22. vraptor567 says:

so wtf happened to our Broncos, we had the best D in the league for a while there, and the Offense seemed to be getting it done, then all of a sudden we were the team everyone expected at the beginning of the season. Not like we have not seen this before (OK it was a different team, and coach) but it seems like the last few seasons we come up against SD just as our Broncos are melting down. Nobody was more surprised that I when we went 6-0 looking strong, but that quick collapse to 0-3 makes no sense. What happened guys? we had SD on the ropes, and now with our help they are about to take the lead—again. Just too freaking weird how this keeps happening, all we need now is a QB with some offense, a D (period), a punter/kicker, and some special team action (Santa I’ve been good: all I ask is a few items for my team lol). Just wish we could figure it out and get back on track.
    oh well
    GO BRONCOS

  23. brian_schneider says:

We all talked about how we wanted a FB to lead block…we start off with Larsen lead blocking.
We all talked about how we wanted Orton to throw it deep…he hits Marshall on two huge TDs.
We all talked about how bad Berger is…he had one good punt..and is still bad.
We all didn’t talk about the D…and we played not that great.
We all need to talk about every phase of the game and hopefully it will happen. I mean who serously thought we’d go deep not once, not twice, not three times, but four times..even though one was incomplete and the other an INT. Let’s all talk about everything and maybe it will happen…?

  24. kennyb40 says:

Have to agree that our D is starting to let us down, which is particularly disturbing. Maybe some of our best playmakers are starting to feel their age? At any rate, it is very diappointing to see our beloved team begin a late-season collapse just at it did the year before. I’m starting to foresee a 9-7 finish, too, but I’m hoping that stevecan2 and I are wrong.

  25. baylinorcrush says:

Two things I got out of today’s McD press conference:

    1) When asked about how the psyche of the team was after three losse, his answer, I don’t know how the psyche of the team is. Not good news in my view.

    2) When asked why Hillis isn’t playing more, he basically said the reason to keep him inactive at times is based upon ST.

  26. CARAMELLOO says:

Look I love Brian Dawkins and his intensity, but he’s out of position too many times on pass plays. Several pass plays that went for TD’s. It starts with fundamentals… TACKLE, TACKLE, TACKLE!!

All of a sudden we can’t tackle on the defensive side. All so in our 3 losses the teams have been physical with us and it seems like we are just letting teams MAN us around.

We need to regain our toughness in every phase of the game.

  27. Greatness007 says:

Denver Broncos coach Josh McDaniels said on Monday that he wouldn’t know until later in the week if quarterback Kyle Orton’s sprained left ankle will prevent him from playing against San Diego.

Orton was injured just before halftime of Denver’s 27-17 loss at Washington on Sunday after throwing for nearly 200 yards and two long touchdowns to Brandon Marshall. He was replaced by a rusty Chris Simms, who completed just three of 13 passes for 13 yards.

The Chargers have wiped out Denver’s 3 1/2-game lead in the AFC West over the last month and now both teams are 6-3 heading into their showdown Sunday at Invesco Field

  28. Greatness007 says:

“The evil I know is better than the evil you don’t know.” Think about it.

  29. gary bronc says:

Look the team know that this week is either Do or Die. Everybody needs to step up and make a great effort to win this game. No one know if Orton is going to be back yet but everyone should hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

The team knows and we (fans) know whats on the line this weekend so fans cheer ur hearts out and players practice, practice, practice, and get more physical for these chargers.

  30. broncofan2639 says:

baylinocrush: The defense held the Redskins to 14 points in the first half & 0 in the third quarter. Thats pretty damn good. I don’t call that a let down. What part of the offense giving the defense a rest don’t you understand. The defense was on the field 90% of the second half so they got tired. If the offense would have held on to the ball for acouple of long drives our defense would have fine.

  31. baylinorcrush says:

You are the 58 year old guy who doesn’t like Orton, right? LOL. Listen, if you were ever open to have discussions about our team as a whole, instead of always reaming the O and Orton about everything that’s wrong with us I would partake, unfortunately, have never seen you do anything but, so I won’t. There is no point to it. Life is too short. However, enjoy the blog but just trying to pick an argument with me is unnecessary and no longer interests me, specially that you have shown to have absolutely no sense of humor when I tried to engage you, it’s way too serious for me. I do this for fun. And I do say this with all due respect.

  32. TENNESSEE says:

Can anyone think of a reason Hillis is not used in our offense?

  33. baylinorcrush says:

McD said today the reason Hillis has been placed on the inactive list a couple of times is because of Special Teams, probably meaning Hillis hurt us badly in the first three games on ST, and he cannot give the spot to him as a RB if he can’t contribute on ST. Like Jordan was active yesterday, he did not see action at RB that I saw, but he contributed on ST.
I’m not saying it’s right, it’s just how McD sees it. Watch his press conference from today, that’s where he talks about it.

  34. rayjr26 says:

ya, i just dont understand the hillis thing! i would say he has paid his dues! he would be an asset on short yardage downs! and besides, if berger can still be playin after his performances then hillis should definately be given a second chance! and i predict that if we can beat SD next weekend then we will make the playoffs, if not then our playoff chances as slim to none.
heres to hoping orton is ok. he gives us the best chance of winning at this point!
    Go Broncos
    “DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS”

  35. socalBroncos7 says:

Coops, you are the closest person among to ask McD what is the deal with Peyton Hillis, before 09 season start I was excited with our running back because of PH.
I know he made a few mistakes but in football, no is is nearly perfect. If I don’t see him on the field, “what a wasted talent”.
I call PH a “sticky hands” like Ed M #87

  36. boldbronco69 says:

I never thought I would wish for Orton to get back into the game, but simm’s couldn’t hit the fanny of a cow with a bag of rice. I love the Broncos, but the performnce that Simmm’s gave us, we are done.

  37. boldbronco69 says:

Put Hillis in. He can run anybody down! Josh get over ourself!

  38. BradJamesBroncoFan says:

We’ve got a lot of things to prove this Sunday, but I think the team can beat the Chargers and get back on the right track. This team is a playoff-caliber unit and I think they’ll recapture the magic. Call me crazy if you will, but predicting doom and gloom is no way to be a fan.

  39. texark-fan says:

a lot of people are defending the D. they did get tired in the second half, so let them run laps, so lets forget about talking about the 2nd half. what happened in the FIRST HALF? they wern’t tired on the first drive. they should not have been tired at all. the skins didn’t get tired of running all over them. these are PROS maybe they should leave the weightroom and go out and run some laps. when i was their age i could run my 3 miles in 26 min. or less. …….. and they are tired after 1 or 2 drives????
our D has not come to play in the last 4-5 games. go back and rewind the tape!!!!!!

good game orton hope to have you back soon. IMO KM can take a few wks off and let HILLIS play. he may not be flashy but he plays to win and he will LIGHT A FIRE under the O.

  40. boldbronco69 says:

beefdirkus I agree with you, the defence can’t be on the field all second half and expect to hold. Our boys did a good job. baylindocrush get a clue.

  41. Crush Arizona says:

Even the mighty crush D cant stay on the feild for a whole second half …. our Offense is invisable and the O line cant even block the skins no wonder Orton is hurt and simms….common man do you even practice at all? In training camp you looked better….Way better…YOu must do better, We must do better. Dont tell me the tallent aint thier cause it is…Just one game come together AND CRUSH THE BOLTS !!! Orton you look a little shell shocked suck it up the plan works U can do it !!
Big Cat Clady seems to be the only line man fighting KC you other three must fight harder to protect the leed protect the QB and block better…Thnx guys.

  42. monodono says:

    COOP!
Thanks for the post and I’m Sorry.
I have to apologize to Broncos Country, I take full responsibility for the loss to Washington.
Ya see I got distracted and went down to Denver to see a girl and I accidentally packed my Home underwear instead of my Road underwear, I COULD’NT BELIEVE IT!
So there I was sitting there watching the game knowing full well that I cost this TEAM the game and couldn’t do anything about it, I was helpless.
I couldn’t send out my normal signals to the Coaches, who in turn couldn’t get the messages to the Players, which led to poor execution with two Turnovers, and Five count them FIVE! 3& OUT’s which led to a completely lopsided T.O.P!, and 4 penalties’ for 45 yards, some really poor tackling, and they got Fooled for a free TD.
I kept sending the message to RUN, RUN, RUN, But Coach McDaniels must of got the opposite signal and decided to PASS, PASS, PASS even though the TEAM wasn‘t far behind and the Back up QB was in the game, Coach McDaniels only called 21 run play’s the whole game for 120yds. with a 5.7yd average which is pretty good by the way. They just need to continue running the ball more in a game like They did the first five games, That’s how they dominated those games by running 35 to 40 times a game and grinding the win’s out. In fact if you go back and look at The Game Book’s for the last three games The Offensive Coordinator ( some young guy I think His name is McDaniels or something like that) only called 18 run plays in Baltimore, He only called 14 run play’s in Pittsburg and only 21 in Washington. Anybody see a pattern? Ya just like last year.

I do have to say even with the bad signals I was sending out I think Brandon did well Eddy did well Moreno did well and Mitch Berger actually improved His average from the last two weeks from 33.4 average to 44.3 average I don’t think that is terrible either. Oh and Prater had 3 out of 4 touchbacks, There were some improvements here.

I still must apologize to The Broncos Country for making such a catastrophic mistake and I promise to never do that again no matter how Beautiful the girl is. You can take that to the bank!

    TIMR OF POSSESSION ! ! !

    GO BRONCOS ! ! !

p.s. Someone asked why didn’t Coach McDaniels put Brandstater in, well He was on the inactive list.
And the theme you should take from my post would be: this was a TEAM loss not a loss because of one phase of the TEAM not performing well but The Whole TEAM not performing well! Including me and my undies. Hehee. . .

  43. baylinorcrush says:

boldbronco69. I’ll let texark-fan do the talking for me, just above your post. Thanks, texark, you save me another long post…

  44. ShannyGone? says:

id say we put in hillis to prove he can get out of the doghouse, and start the kid under center, just to see what he does. id say both of these kids are dying for a shot at the playing field, especially brandstater if orton is out. ive never been impressed with simms, NEVER. as for hillis, this guy is a beast and his talents could impact how we play on the field. he is a good blocker and is tough to bring down when he has the ball in his hands. i say give them both a chance, could what else is there to lose?

  45. whitebronco#1 says:

Ok, monodono… I blame you. I feel better now.

  46. raidrhadr says:

Wow Coop. It’s heatin up in here a little.

The Hillis thing is perplexing…especially since he embodies everything that McD wants in a player tough, smart and versitile. Either his special teams play was that bad (I think I have seen a penalty or 2) or they must have a personality conflict.

There are many different approaches in these posts. Some are ultra-down to earth….some are based on faith and hope. I just want to say that I still think we are in a very successful rebuilding campaign. I think the offense is still trying to gain an identity (may not be found ’til next year) and I think we may be a piece or 2 short on the defense. Special Teams has shown flashes but not many. I know for a fact that it takes longer to build and UNDERSTAND offense than it does defense. To be able to discuss the possibility of winning the division and the playoffs is a bonus right now.

Kyle Orton is starting Sunday BTW

GO BRONCOS!!!! South Stands Forever!!! The Orange Crush Lives!!

  47. thundersrevenge says:

I’ll admit that I didn’t read every post to this point so I apologize if I’m repeating something that someone else posted.

GET OFF THE DEFENSES BACK!!!!! When your on the field for 23 minutes of the second half, YOU WILL BE EXHAUSTED!!!!! The D is not falling apart it’s just getting dogged because the offense isn’t producing enough to keep them off the field. A lot of new guys on offense this year that don’t know what it’s like to get “stuck” on the field. Working harder than they have in college ball.

Our problem is simple, a la Monodono, T.O.P. is killing us.
Fix the offensive problem and all of a sudden this team will look like a 6-0 team again.

    GO BRONCOS!!!!

  48. thundersrevenge says:

sorry, meant to say “a lot of new guys on the DEFENSE this year”

  49. mark_cooper says:

O.K. Mondonos (undies fault) we can all quit killing each other…there. it’s over, see you on the next post…….. :o )

    HA! O.K. Back again.

Hillis isn’t the answer but like you, I like the kid. Sometimes coaches challenge young players and it makes them better. Let’s see how this plays out. If your not starting you have to be a contributor on special teams and some guys never played them in college and then they get here and speed and quickness of the game catches them off-guard, especially on special teams with the LB’s and DB’s.

Funny story: I was on kickoff return as a rookie and I was fast for a big guy, seriously. Stop laughing. We’re playing Seattle and I’m running back on a kickoff from the front line and I have a veteran DB, my guy. I’m kinda licking my chops thinking I’m going to flick this guy like a fly and go get another.

This veteran DB gives me a double move to get by me and I bite. So I get caught with my feet in a crossed over position, but I’m (thinking I can recover, I’ve got great feet) NOT!! I think the (little DB) stiff armed me or maybe he just blew on me as he went by and I went down like a train wreck. All the way to the ground I’m thinking (yea stupid, nice cross-over). I bounced up as quick as possible so it wouldn’t look so bad and went after the first guy near me (trying to recover some pride).

The moral to the story is: When you violate a “Cardinal rule” you pay for it and I did. Guess what. I never crossed over again. I also realized the speed of these guys.

The D…..from what I saw, they’re out of position compared to the early weeks in the season. I thought about it after the game, was concerned, and then watched some re-runs and I’d say back to basics and being responsible for your gap and and doing your job will cure what ails this D right now.

How about the papers saying if Orten doesn’t play he won’t be in good graces of Coach McDanies. Must be something in the water here in town they drink down at the paper. Simms is rusty. Don’t forget for one minute…. thinking practice reps compare to Gameday reps (NOT ON THE SAME PLANET) He’ll get plenty of closer to full speed reps this week and that will help regardless of whether Orten starts or not.

By the way, you don’t desert your starting QB because he sprained his ankle. Are you kidding me. Our Cutler buddy in the big C town threw 5 picks and was fines $25K, last Thursday. (had to go there)

Back to basics on D and I liked the trend we had going with the rushing game and O line and no one mentioned Hochstein. I think he played really well both on O and special teams.

I think we see a rebound this week against the Chargers. I just have this feeling.

    Go O & D!!

Lets see where to begin, where to begin. Oh yea no offense. I’ve been saying that all year. McDaniels needs to take notes from the Patriots if he wants to coach. Where is our quarterback? Thats right traded. Lets see I’m betting to say that when Simms gets unrusty as we call it our offensive numbers will not change, its coaching guys. Maybe we traded away 5 interceptions to quickly, maybe if he still had our line we would be putting up 24 points a game. Who really nos. I will go as far and say our coach doesn’t no the rationale for a good Quarterback. Didn’t Shanahan get fired for having us in the same predicament last year? Why yes he did. The only thing were missing is a loss to San Diego, which I don’t no if I could take. I have had so many disappointments this year from Denver whats one more. I wonder if Pat is going to fire McDaniels if we lose to San Diego, I wouldn’t blame him if he did. I just need one questioned answered. How long are we going to keep McDaniels? He has already turned our offense into the inept system it is and has no eye for offensive talent, IE QB. I don’t want to look back 3 years from now and see the foundation of another Cleveland Browns.

    That being said: Go Denver
