5:23 left and Tebow engineers a comeback. I get that. Prater misses two earlier field goals which is not very typical of this kicker and here we are. Tim-tastic….or Cardiac Kid?? You pick. I’ll take it either way.
Wow, what a way to start. Earlier in the game I know what many of you were thinking. He’s trying too hard, he has a lot of pressure on him, it’s his first start. Right? Had to. I was showing homes all day to clients yesterday and YES, they are Broncos fans so in between homes we have the game on and are listening in. The comments above are what my clients said and you had to agree. We even stopped for a quick bite between houses at 7:00 minutes remaining and the guy behind the counter asks us if we were listening to the game and what was the score and how was the game going and it wasn’t pretty….was it.
Third down efficiency and the sacks we gave up have to change as we move forward. I’m patient…are you?? New baby steps have to be established and with “some time” we’ll know how this team plays with our new QB.
Worrisome was McGahee’s hand after the game. Our running game will assist Tebow. I think we’ll see a bunch of folks start lining up in the box to stop the run and saying beat us with the pass.
Can’t wait to hear your take. Many of you have been calling for a change, so what do you think overall.

Bay, did it really give you such a hard on, my comparing yesterday to Elway, that you just had to go and hunt down one game, 28 years ago, where Elway made a grade 4th quarter come back so that you prove me wrong and feel all proud of being the know it all on the board? Elway did it in a whole quarter. Tebow did it in under a third of that; which has NEVER been done in the history of the NFL. Anybody who actually has read all of my posts knows that yes, I love Tim Tebow. I also love the Broncos. I loved the Broncos before TT was even born. Go back and look at my comment, the only one, when Miami was up by 6 yesterday. I wasn’t praising TT’s play. I was stating facts. The play calling sucked. We had bad kicks, there were bad throws, dropped balls from our leading rusher and from receivers. Thomas even dropped an easy catch that hit him right in the numbers when he was wide open. Tebow was running around the whole time, trying not to get sacked even more than he did and had nowhere to throw the ball. The O line played like crap in the beginning. We had penalties galore. At least TT made the right decision in not throwing interceptions. It’s a good think he’s in such great physical shape or he never could have kept up that pace for over 60 minutes. Our D played great and our special teams definitely stepped it up a notch. In the end though, again, it was Tim Tebow who rallied the team and brought them back to win. The players have even said that. It’s his never quit attitude that everyone on the field believe that they could do it and not give up. There was 55 minutes of team failure and then there was a historical win with Tim Tebow driving the bus. I’ve said it before though and I’ll say it again. I wasn’t one of the ones before Tebow hit the field, that was saying our receivers were some of the best. I was saying that Tebow has no decent guys to throw to and that I think John Fox is a failure. McD didn’t ruin the Broncos with his lack of coaching ability. What he lacked was experience in drafting and you have to blame the front office for giving him free reign during the draft. Why would you hire a guy who’s never been a HC and never ran a draft and just hand him the reigns unchecked? I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. John Fox will be Denver’s downfall. It won’t be Tim Tebow. If EFX are dumb enough to trade Tebow after this year, they WILL be on the way to being the next Jacksonville Jaguars and they can look forward to getting beat by whatever team TT goes to for a very long time to come. I’m pretty sure that Urban Meyer and the owner of the Fins were talking about a number of things. One of them being how well Mike Pouncey is adjusting from a college Guard to a starting NFL rookie Center.
I’m thinking that there is an still an element somewhere that results in – “Bronco choke”
While Tebow obviously choked some (what Carnage defines as a good pass is one that ‘is as’ eligible for play to the defense as it is to the offense – Tebow did throw a couple of very good passes); some of the bad passes were QB/ receiver – on completely different pages, the dropped pass chokes, the Prater ‘chokes’, maybe play-calling chokes (but I don’t think so.) What causes a team to choke badly? The skill / talent is there, the confidence is in place, the game planning and preparation is there – and yet a team still is completely inept at execution. And then, what flips that invisible switch called ‘momentum’?
While the Bronco locker room has endured a ‘tenured demon’ of doubt / – and while a ‘newby’ QB feeds that ‘doubt’, and the ‘haters’ feed that doubt, and dumb coaching that would tell a ‘newby’ QB that he is one game at a time feeds doubt (rumor?)- is that what we saw yesterday?
The bigger question is: has Tebow done enough to slay the demon? He obviously did at the end of the MIA game – but ‘doubt’ is creeping in already because laming the Lion is not nearly the same as gaffing the Dolphin.
I think the the Lions D will try to duplicate what MIA did and in doing so will cheat themselves. They will have to adjust early and will not be able to continue the blitz packages like MIA into the 4th quarter.
The Broncos greatest asset is that the Lions will underestimate the Broncos – this win will also require the defense of the Broncos to keep the Lions O below average in production.
The ‘haters’ who are already going after the Lions and undermining them in order to be able to minimize the significance of a Bronco victory – can just ‘shut up’ now. Significant competitive effort and a close score against the Lions will indicate huge progress, by DEN in coaching/ QB/ defense/ and O-line, beyond the ‘dark age’ of Bronco football.
My optimistic – wishful prediction.
DEN – 24 / DET – 21 Tebow writes his check for the future-
Agreed say the name of that coach who sucked and your banned lol. Here is my problem with you right njow Gator… You are saying Tebow is better than Elway after one comeback win. Elway did it over a career. It’s ok to be enthusiastic about Tebow but to throw the recievers and coaches under the bus when it was clear that Tebow did not play well for 55 minutes regardless of gameplan and a dropped pass for a guy who has not played since last year. Be Happy for the team win and hopefully the team can build on the performance not just Tebow.
Show me one place where I have EVER said that Tebow is BETTER than Elway. That is simply not true at all. Don’t attempt to put words in my mouth that I didn’t say. I did say that we really don’t have any good receivers because we don’t. They made a few good catches on Sunday and they missed several as well. The HC and the OC suck. I am certainly happy for the win. In fact, I’ve said all along, ugly or not, at the end of the day, it’s all about the win.
Nicely put Coopster.
Bad boring game but that will to win & fight to get it overshadows it all. Amazing effort by both sides to get this win.
Tebow is a finisher, the closer as I like to call him. Look what he did. Played very badly the whole game & then BAM it all comes out. Drives me nuts when they hold back (not necessarily intentionally) the whole game and then decide in the last minutes to play real football. Had they played like those last minutes it would’ve been a blowout. Tebow got on a roll & couldn’t be stopped. I was waiting for that the entire game…. that moment when Tebow hit a spark & no one would be able to stop him. Guess he takes the saying “save the best for last” to a whole new level.
Crazy win, I loved every minute of it. And that miracle kick by Prater – freakin’ awesome!!!!! Just baffles me he misses 2 40-yarders but makes a 63 in pregame warm ups & a 52 to win it.
But despite the great effort at the end to win, we can’t be doing this all season. Certainly not against division rivals & teams like the Pats later on. I do think though that this Miami game was a great time for Tebow to work out his kinks, his flaws in passing. He needs to get his confidence going in that area for sure. But when he connected with receivers, it was flawless. Those big passes to Willis, Thomas & Fells… HUGE!!
Watching this game made me fully 100% realize just how patient us fans will have to be. Luckily, I’m a rather patient person & with time Tebow will only get better. There is no other way for him to go.
With faith…
GO BRONCOS 2011!!!!

buck484, Elway had 4 versus KC 1983 and 4 versus Seattle 1984.
Patience is the name of the game with the young receivers and the relatively young O-line……pretty simple.
Love the D baby, keeping it all together so far and we’re still playing at a high level despite the injuries and missing guys each week?? Impressive so far.
