Mondono, good points as always....the Colts didn't win that game, we really gave it away...period. My humble opinion. We're so close it hurts sometimes.

royalbroncofan1, the center position is the toughest position to play on goal line and short yardage downs. He has to snap the ball an get low all at once and either pin the defensive lineman to the ground so they don't make any penetration or quickly get under them to hold ground or get some movement so the dive or QB sneak are successful.

Tell him hello for me and good luck. The lines not a glorious position, but one with a tremendous amount of self satisfaction when you get the job done. You'll know when he's walking off the field with a little swagger and a smile on his face. :o)

Change of subject: Sorry, but I still have to laugh and pat myself on the back on the Cutler trade. 22 picks!! He had absolutely NO IDEA what he got himself into leaving this offensive line. It's tough to throw off your back foot, on the run or off your back. I usually don't say I told anybody so, but I have to this time. I took the heat for calling him a baby the Roast downtown last year....because that's what you do at a Roast and if the shoe fits..........you have to wear it. But Coach McDaniel’s looks pretty smart to me these days.

On the ESPN 30-30, The "U" film. I hope you guys don't get tired of me asking but I'm really curious on your take. Why? Because you all know football and have a great sense for what you see. It aires Dec 27 at 1pm again. I'm DVR-ing it so I can watch all 2 hours, non-stop. I was at a fund raiser for the U Hall of Fame when it was played and saw most.

Howard Schnellenberger was the catalyst to the U and in my view it was a documentary to a GREAT man (and Beverly) his wife for going there and setting a goal and winning a National Championship. He's one of my mentors. Tough, demanding, disciplined, visionary and grounded head coach.

The U was a different place in the late 70's and early 80's under Howard. A lot of antics went on after him, but the U won.

5 National Championships.
1983: 11-1
1987: 12-0
1989: 11-1
1991: 12-0
2001: 12-0

I saw that documentary on the U. Very interesting.

I didn't know that Howard Schnellenberger almost didn't take the job in Miami, and that his wife had to talk him into it. I heard from someone else, though, that they told him that they were going to drop down in class after they hired him. But, after some conversation, they decided to give it one more go in Division I, and the rest is history.

I also heard that Florida State, Pitt, and even Syracuse were thinking about dropping football altogether in the 70's as well. Imagine how different College Football would be the last 30-35 years if those teams did stop playing. I imagine a few of those schools would have tried again, like Pitt and Syracuse, but I doubt that Miami would have.

COOP!
7 penalties for 65 yards?! Come on D Williams roughing the passer, Really? and D Reid unsportsman like WTF? This hurt the most, add in the four 3&outs and the two 4th and 1's they didn't convert which put Indi on their own 40 yard line each time, and the porous Defense the first two Indi drives and you have a TEAM loss, albeit not without positives.

COOP like you said The Broncos did control the TIME OF POSSESSION and They did run the ball enough times to win (but a 3 yard average isn't going to cut it).
Which brings me to my next subject Knowshon Moreno. COOP I think Moreno is going to be a great back in The NFL some day but right now we have a very young rookie as the number one back, and personally I think we are seeing the difference between him and Buckhalter the wiley vet as being day and night. I'm of the opinion that Coach McDaniels started Moreno just a little to soon.
Hopefully we will get what we've all been asking for the whole year and put the ball in Peyton Hillis' hands.

I'm excited for this next game! I will be in The SOUTH STANDS screaming my head off and would love nothing more than a Broncos win for my Birthday.

Al Davis said today, charlie fry will start this week and I saw the raiders signed jp losman today. This could be allot of fun.

TIME OF POSSESSION ! ! !

Thanks for the feedback Coop. My son plays Center position for his Team and mentioned DB's made penetration. Did not tape game or view any replays. Coachemup also mentioned this as well.

Hillis situation still somewhat intriguing but hard not to second guess Coach at times. Looks like Hillis may get his chance this upcoming weekend with Buck's injury.

In answer to your question, did not see 30-30 ESPN show.

The 4th down debacle was pure missed assignments and not putting a HAT on a HAT as we use to say and we had a receiver standing there watching while his guy blitzed off the short/slot corner?

The defense tries to get under the offensive lineman and push the line off scrimmage back into the backfield. The O-line has to have their heads and shoulders as low or lower than the D-line and stalemate or move the line of scrimmage to create a hole. It's on all fours and scramble blocking or pinning the defender to the turf so he can't get under you or between you and into the backfield crabbing to disrupt the ball carrier.

The Colts DB's standing up cut the corners got into the backfield. Our receivers stood there and watched. They have to get a hat on a hat too!!

Hillis should see plenty of action this week and like a old assistant coach Earl Morrell use to say, "always be prepared, so when your time comes to play you're ready to play, because you may only get, "one chance."

O.K. side note. Did any of you see the 30-30 ESPN show after the Heisman award on the U?

Curious what you thought, good and bad. I'm going on Gil Whitley's radio show today to talk about it. I was at a local fundraiser for the University of Miami Hall of Fame and the film was on and I saw most of it but missed quite a bit mingling with folks.

baylinor: Just read the article and something ain't exactly right with this situation. I remember how excited Coach was about him during training camp. In fact remember hearing those same comments posted on Krieger's article. Unfortunately, our Team suffers as a result of whatever it is, that lies beneath.

To whitebronco#1 and all those who have questionned the McD/Hillis thing, I highly recommend you reading Dave Krieger's article in the premium part of the Denver Post: The curious case of Peyton Hillis. Done in a very polite way, but in the end we all know there is something terribly wrong on the handling of Hillis by McD. His treatment of Hillis is the most uncool thing he has done all season. The proof is in the reading. Check it out.

Geat job B-marsh

If the mistakes would stop we could win a game. Still a new coach's system, and we are leading the wild card race. We can win at least 2 of the next 3 if not all three. At the beginning of the season i would have taken it in a heart beat.
