Tebow Time!!

October 9th, 2011 - 9:50pm by mark_cooper

O.K. you’ve been asking for it and now you got it. I can’t wait to hear what you have to say.

Quick comments before I open the gates: A drop away on a two-point conversion and a tie. Kind of Elway-esk?? :o )
And loved what I saw out of our Defense. Need to stop with the personal fouls when they can really hurt us….BUT love the intensity!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go Broncos!!

Pretty obvious that the pressure put on Orton’s shoulders by the “fans” was finally more than he could bear. He is a Bronco and should have been treated better. Let him succeed or fail by his own accord. The level of ridicule was over the top and frankly I’m disgusted by the lack of humanity shown him. I hope none of the “monkey’s on his back” have to suffer the humilating treatment he went though in their life. I glad for Tebow, I thought he stayed composed in a tough spot and played well. The throws he missed caused no harm, he did not put the ball up for grabs until he had no choice on the very last play. In the past he was less composed when force out of the pocket, he looked cold and calculating. The screen pass was exceptionally well executed. In my opinion he’s won the job, not by injury but by execution. He deserves the oppurtunity to start. He was a complete professional in the after game interview, maturing right before our eyes. Will he succeed , only time will tell but you know I’ll be cheering for him and everyone else in the orange and blue. Go Broncos!

It real pains me to read all these posts as a Broncos fan right now. I am a huge Tebow supporter and think he energized the entire team yesterday giving them a chance to win. That being said he was also installed in the second half of a game where the opposing team had not gameplanned for him to be the quarterback. Again I am a huge Tebow fan but we cannot proclaim him the next Elway, we cannot cherish the moment. What we can do is install him as the starter give him the practic reps, support, and gameplan that suits him, and see how he does when a team does gameplan for him. I personally think he can be the future of this team, but I also accept that we need to see how he does for more than just a half.

With Tebow in it was a different team yesterday, everyone was energized and most importantly having fun! Tebow was uncertain at times and jumpy ehich hopefully is due to the lack of practice reps, but he did show poise and at the end of the day he put the Broncos in a position to win.

All I ask Denver is please be reasonable, we did NOT win the Super Bowl, although many of you are acting like it. Lets enjoy what will hopefully be a great remainder to the season and reveal if we do have a franchise QB in Tebow.

    GO BRONCOS!!!

Buck I liked what you said as to who we cheer for if Tebow struggles. I’ll be the first to call for Quinn to get a chance if Tebow is awful.

But really what if that is the case what if Tebow is worse than Orton (I dont think it will happen) but what if then is it just because Tebow is young and inexperienced and will I be ridiculed for calling for Brady Quinn to be given an opportunity to prove himself?

LAX, I personally don’t think Tebow will be “better” than Orton right away. He will be more exciting and I believe we may win some games that Orton would not. But, yes, you will likely get some grief if you start calling for Quinn. He had his time in Cleveland. We know he is a decent QB. What we need to know, is this…..can Tebow be the QB of the Broncos for the next 10 to 15 years! We have to know what he can do. And it’s okay if he struggles and makes some bonehead plays….he only has three starts to his name.

This team is not good enough to go anywhere. We are rebuilding. Let’s see if our first round draft pick QB has the goods. Let him drive for the rest of the season.

I have always been a perponent of benching Orton. Tebow gives them a better chance to win now and in the future as Orton is at his ceiling and Tebow doesn’t know where his starts or ends, he can be a hall of famer or a total bust in my opinion. As for Quinn, I’ll give and example. If Tebow plays how clausen did last year is it fair to insert Quinn to see what he can do because with all do respect he still has very little experience starting and his time in cleavland was not really a situation in which we can truely assess his ability.

Tebow showed me one thing i know what our offence has been missing that is the ability to extend the play. watching the game yesterday you could see there was times Orton had lanes to run and he just didnt want to but with tebow when those lanes open he gone. I Dont expect Tbow to do what he did in the game all the time. but it will give defences something to think about. Like i said before i like Orton but the offence was really not moving with him at center. so a change was needed

  7. BroncosLAX says:

G Funk Thats all I’m saying is he did give a spark extending plays I just dont want people proclaiming Elway has returned. Tebow just brings a new dimension to the team

    COOP!

I’m right there with Imready, could you imagine if you were at work just doing your job and ten people followed you around calling you names and pointing out your weaknesses and then chanting for the next guy to come in and do your job?

I have real distain for the impatient and some times very rude Tebow fans, and I have been embarrassed for them. I have a hard time understanding why some of these fans who support such a Great guy who is so positive and just wants to make His TEAM better and who so proudly wears His Faith on His sleeves and would never say things that would put down His rivals or even enemy’s (if He has any) could be so rude day in and day out. I was called an Ortonite the other day for supporting The Denver Broncos starting QB. What gives?

    I am Jacks hidden embarrassment…

If Tim Tebow is announced as the starting QB on Tuesday I will gladly and proudly support Him. Because I am a Denver Broncos fan and that’s what we should do. In fact I want all of The Denver Broncos QB’s to succeed but now we have two high priced QB’s on the bench with no trade value. Tim Tebow is now the only QB on the TEAM who has any trade value, so if any of the speculation that’s been going around that Mr. Elway want’s Andrew Luck has any merit Tebow may be the only bargaining chip The Broncos have.

Now if these fans had some patients and supported thier starting QB maybe Orton could’ve won some games and built some equity, and been traded. Maybe, maybe not. I do know He now holds no trade value and you cant trade anything without value.

I wonder if Cleveland wants Bady Qinn back for Peyton Hillis? Not for the price….However They might want Tebow….Just sayin….

Congrats Tebow!!!! You made the Gators proud, you will make the Broncos proud as well….

  10. BroncosLAX says:

Quinn isn’t hi priced he would be if he achieved some 600 snaps or something like that but he wont get that bonus

  11. BroncosLAX says:

Monodono exactly my point this entire time had Orton had any support maybe he plays better but maybe not. But he had almost zero support and these blogs are evidence of it

Monodono, T.O.P. was tough this week. 40 Minutes to just under 20…wow should have been a blow out. What worries me more right now is Vickerson went down and Thomas is back luckily but how many more guys can we lose at the DT spot.

On your question: It comes with the territory…remember back to Elways first few years here…just as bad.

I’m as excited about Tebow as the next guy because he reminds me of Elway and that’s the era of QB’s I played with…Elway, Kelly at the “U”, Testverde in Tampa, Deberg here and at Tampa.

It will be interesting to see if the offense changes a little with a different talent at the QB spot?

    THNX COOP!

I wasn’t shocked when I saw the TOP with all the three and outs, but I was suprised at how the D held up while being on the field so long They did an Orange Crush of job! Hopefully the TEAM gets some help at the DT position but I don’t know from whom or where. Vickerson has clearly been our best performer at this position and will be Greatly missed. whithout any trade value for Orton or Quinn I’m not sure how The Denver Broncos will achieve this. Someone else may be gone or They might get lucky on waivers but I’m not holding my breath. I hope McBean can step up as the next man up but we still need help in the rotation.

BroncosLAX, I’ve read all of your posts and totally agree with you dispite your argument with BFE. Im not sure any of the Tebowites can see past thier noses to know sometimes whats best for the TEAM is what is on the surface. I think what was best for the TEAM was to build some equity in Orton and Quinn so we could make a trade. I believe it’s been inevitable that Tebow was in the future plans for The Broncos and who knows what kind of help we could’ve got with a good trade for Orton maybe a good DT right COOP! Maybe maybe not… the rude Tebowites were impatient and have no forsight for whats best for the TEAM. They only have thier owne speculation as to what the coaches and the front office want and they twist words around for thier own cause. like Kyle Orton hates the fans ect….I don’t believe He ever said that He mearly said that winning the fans over was last on His list of things to do. That to me means He was focused on what He and the TEAM needed to do to win some games and nothing else.

anyway I’m rambling now and I gotta get ready to rip some lip’s at ElevenMile Res. Goin for some Kokanee Salmon.

Hopefully The Broncos can get better with TOP with Tim Tebow at the Helm.

    TIME OF POSSESSION ! ! !
