It doesn’t get much better than that, does it, you BRONCO-MANIACS? Wow!! 11 seconds into overtime and a 80-yard touchdown strike. Tebow reads the defense and Thomas does the rest. The defense was dominant and the O-line gave Tebow all the time in the world. Way to go fellas!!
Have to tell you a funny story. So all week I’m going back and forth with one of my very best friends who played 12 years with the Steelers and has two Super Bowl rings, Gary Dunn (pictured above). We both played at the “U” and played against each other in the league. He owns a hotel, restaurant/sports bar in the Florida Keys called the OV which stands for Oceanview, in Islamorada. Many of you have heard this name that read this blog.
We talked all week long about a friendly wager and right before the game we decide if the Broncos win, I get a dozen Stone Crab Claws and if we don’t, I have to send him a 32 oz buffalo steak. Game on.
This gets a little longer. Game time, I’m at Valor High School for my 13-year old son’s hoops games and one of our teammates’ parents has a small portable TV set, so we’re on the sidelines seated and standing watching TV/cheering the game on and the kids at the same time and everyone’s laughing and asking what the score is throughout the first quarter and almost to the half. The basketball game ends and we hightail it home and watch the rest with the kids and family and I’m texting back and forth the entire game and laughing about Gary sending me extra mustard sauce and making sure he uses Fed-Ex and on and on, sooooo funny.
So the game ends and I have my son who (by the way) wears a number 7 in all his sports does the Tebow in the living room in front of our fireplace and I text it to Gary and he promptly replies with his own version in front of an outdoor fireplace they have at his hotel/sports bar. I posted it on my Facebook page and everyone chimes in within minutes. I also posted my son’s picture below so check it out for a giggle.
Back to the action: I don’t know about you but all week the backing into the playoff comments and the radio guys’ comments about we don’t belong, were ticking me off and I knew we had a pretty good shot. I talked on 93.7 with Mac and Doog on their show about how I thought we would win this game and you know what takes the cake? All the humble pie being eaten by all the commentators on TV that said it wouldn’t happen.
I do have to give them credit though. I think they are having as much fun as we are in this victory. The O-E-O Teeeeeeeebow chant is hysterical. Gotta love it
GO BRONCOS

Bay, I would take it a step further and say that it just how you have to live your entire life. In business, in friendship, in love. Heck, I bet that more or less describes how you approached your professional skiing career too.
Now that it is obvious that Tebow is staying in Denver, I’m thinking that McCoy will not be invited to HC the Jags.
I’m thinking that those who blame the conservative play calling on Fox more than McCoy are the ones who are thinking correctly. McCoy was reasonably balanced under Studsville, and far more creative than the recent 3 losses.
Knocking out the D line in this game was huge. Don’t be fooled into thinking that Tebow had some huge epiphany. What he had was time in the pocket.
Still enjoying the ride? !!!! C’mon now y’all hang on!! LOL
I agree with kengro!
The reality is success in the NFL is shared between the coaches drawing up a good game plan, calling the right right plays AND the players executing the plays…
So… We need BOTH Tebow AND McCoy to be on their A-game to keep winning at this level IMO..
BFE, whatever. You seem to have strong feelings on T.O.
We need a receiver who can run block better than Matt Willis for the rest of the games. Otherwise they will get him for offensive holding every time; he is undersized for the run game.
The locker room over a year ago is definitely not the same as the one now. This team is playing as a team. Just listen to Robert Ayers comments.
Absolutely alex, I was born to take chances.
db,strap me in this time,so I don’t fall off,lol.
so what youre saying, bay, is that you AND greise are wrong?
007,T.O. even said he wanted to play in Denver when McD was here,and he said no….I’m sure there is a WR out there with size,without the drama.
Where’s Greg Orton?
Orton is 6’3 199 lbs.
The Jets cut Eron Riley, is he still available?
He is still on the PS?
Goodwin too?
bottom line is we’ll see. cant say it enough. no one knows how it will turn out with tebow. NO ONE. he’s one of the biggest wild cards i’ve ever seen. never seen someone look so bad and then look so much better one game later. crazy stuff. heckuva debate though. the rest of the team is slowly coming together. The oline and the d are getting better and better and to have those two things as a strength on a team is the makings of a great team. can make up for a lot of deficiencies. and it may not take long to become an elite team again. oh how i would love that.
Riley 6’3″ 207
i think a lot of people on this blog think there opinion matters more then anybody elses. if someone thinks t.o is a good snag then so be it and if i think that moreno is young and still could bounce back so be it is an opinion and we dont always have to rip somone about what they think all that matters is we all have one thing in common we love the broncos.
Here’s a question after reading about people discussing Tebow’s sub par completion percentage:
Tebow rushed for 50 yards and a TD, including a few key 1st downs late in the game. At what point does that kind of production allow your completion percentage to be graded on a curve?
I’m with Bay in that the TO thing barely is worth comment.
The guy looks like he needs a motor transplant to get down the field. He has become a 911 call waiting to happen, and there is no way TO is going to sit back and behave himself with Tebow spread all over the news everyday.
No way!! Dawk would put Fox in a headlock and give him ‘nuggie’ till he had a bald spot!!! LOL Not happenin’!!!!
Heh, BFE agree @ 3:47. The only reason I would kinda like to have Harris around these days is for depth.
Franklin was a high draft pick, but he has surpassed his draft status already. He has been playing like a top 5 overall pick.
I am very happy with franklin, but I was still sad when Harris was cut.
killer,I stood up for Moreno for 2 years,and finally got tired of it,he keeps getting hurt,I think if he would stay healthy,he would be a good RB,but he just keeps getting hurt,you can’t depend on a player like that,a lot of players have been sent packing for the same reason,I ain’t ripping nobody,but simply giving an honest opinion too.
Tebow did a lot of work with E.Riley in preseason. That could happen.
in the nfl tsunami, never. imo of course.
ya bay i just saw another commentator impressed with tebows improved accuracy. imma watch the game again. see if i see it.
I’ll buy some Moreno stock right now, right it down.. His value has never been lower, and the potential upside is high.. I’ll take that chance 10 out of 10 times.. Look no further than Bunkley.. He was “bust” as well… Plus, we don’t owe Moreno much next season, I believe we paid most of the money upfront..
alex,we resigned Harris last week,I guess for depth,so you should be happy.
The reason Tebow has an inordinately low completion percentage is because he throws and inordinately high number of deep passes. His completion percentage will jump when the Broncos figure out the short game. Just so happens that DT caught everything but the short pass that hit him in the numbers. Go figure! LOL
Heh. Probably not too much poetry posted here. Lord knows this is the probably the first and last poem I will post here. But Bay’s wisdom reminded me of it. So with no further ado:
Leap Before You Look
The sense of danger must not disappear:
The way is certainly both short and steep,
However gradual it looks from here;
Look if you like, but you will have to leap.
Tough-minded men get mushy in their sleep
And break the by-laws any fool can keep;
It is not the convention but the fear
That has a tendency to disappear.
The worried efforts of the busy heap,
The dirt, the imprecision, and the beer
Produce a few smart wisecracks every year;
Laugh if you can, but you will have to leap.
The clothes that are considered right to wear
Will not be either sensible or cheap,
So long as we consent to live like sheep
And never mention those who disappear.
Much can be said for social savoir-faire,
But to rejoice when no one else is there
Is even harder than it is to weep;
No one is watching, but you have to leap.
A solitude ten thousand fathoms deep
Sustains the bed on which we lie, my dear;
Although I love you, you will have to leap;
Our dream of safety has to disappear.
—W.H. Auden, 1940
KM as a #1 pick IMO hasn’t earned the $$$ we gave him. He takes a huge pay cut and he will still be welcome here. I just wouldnt pay him a starters salary.
dt has been injured a lot as well and look what he is doing. im not just talking about moreno i feel anytime people on our blogs say anything that one or two of you dissagree with it turns into a debate and i just think everyone should tone it down a notch.
If Moreno is making bottom end money,of course give him another year,but still draft a RB in a later round just in case,imo.
Hopefully Super Mario returns healthy!
I myself think that T.O. would be a great acquisition right now.
First, there is no doubting his talent or his physical dominance on the field.
Second, he has always been a diva and that has been why he was a cancer. But how could he be a diva now if we picked him up now? He wasn’t here. He didn’t have any little thing to do with our playoff position, and he would know it. No body else wants him, and I think that he would rightfully feel lucky to get picked up so late and at such an advantageous position to try to make a run. He would be all smiles for at least three games, and that is all we would need.
We’ll have to look up Moreno’s contract, but I think before the rookie wage scale was in place, rookies were given a huge signing bonus and their later years were not that high paid
That sounds just too eerily like I’ve led my life, thanks for sharing alex.
db,if DT would have caught that pass TT would have been 11/21…which would be like 53%!!!!
All I’m saying is Moreno is invited to camp, along with a RB we draft in a mid round, along with a FA and see who makes the cut
Heh, true BFE. I was glad when we re-signed him. But he will be out of sync for some time, while he gets into sync with our current game plan.
Bronc on bros!
6:00 here….Suppertime for me!
That would have messed up his yards per completion record though.
agreed.
lol.
Depth for next year tho.
db,you can’t have your cake and eat it too silly,lol.
I gotta eat……later!
Shaz must have really blown a gasket. Can’t remember when she didn’t have something to say after the game.
LOL
Our draft pick in the upcoming draft has dropped from the #21st pick but that is ok. I am proud of the way our guys stood up to a very physical team.
“On August 7, 2009, after an eight-day holdout, Moreno signed a five-year, $16.7 million contract with a $5.08 million club option for 2014. The deal includes $13.135 million guaranteed and Moreno can earn an additional $6.3 million through incentives.”
Pretty funny – will the real Tebow please throw the ball!!! LOL
I think I titled it passer v. poser! LOL
http://www.nfl.com/playoffs/playoff-picture?module=HP11_hot_topics
Cricket – I think 25th is the highest we can go now.
Bottom line:
Moreno isn’t costing us that much, and most of it is guaranteed, so we have to pay him anyway.. We’re best served to try to get something out of him..
Personally – I’m holding out for 32nd pick!!! Any believers!
I don’t care what anyone says, bash Tebow all you want, downplay his abilities all you want, but he was a big part of the amazing win yesterday, as many of his teammates were quoted saying. ALL the guys did an outstanding job yesterday and it made me so elated to see our team pull this win out, ESPECIALLY after hearing a week packed full of negative comments and predictions from analysts, other teams’ fans, and even people on this blog. Regardless of how you think, or maybe fear is the better term, that the game will result, as a “fan” our job is to cheer on and support our team. GO BRONCOS!! We beat the Steelers, now on to the Pats… Another very do-able win!
