Let's start a new blog with an update on the CBA.

Bay and you guys are funny.. Elway was the toughest and YES......he did go to the HALL OF FAME partially because of his scrambling ability.....and I take full credit for it O.K.

Somebody might as well!! :o)

AND it was Sports Illustrated that said the Offensive lineman were the smartest guys on the field and I have to AGREE.

Regarding the CBA I concur with Coop that there are a lot of reasonable requests being made and it seems to me that for the sake of everyone the rules surrounding the negotiations should have a timeline whereby if the two parties do not reach agreement by the expiration date of the previous agreement the status quo should remain for one month whilst the agreement goes to arbitration.

How do you think it would be best to ensure agreements are met through arbitration?

Talking about players' IQ, I will never forget the game McNabb played in that ended in a tie and he didn't know there could be ties in the NFL, so he said what will they do in the playoffs if a game ends in a tie?.... And that was just a couple years ago after he had been in the league 10 years or so, just unbelievable, good thing those guys have physical talents.... I can see why he is driving Shanny crazy, I heard he still couldn't get the Redskins linguo down at the end of last season.

BTW, I say we franchise no one this year as to not pis# off anybody. We couldn't afford Bailey at 17 mil for the season anyway.

Anyway, the NFL's new league year is scheduled to begin in 3 weeks and the two sides are essentially arguing over an additional $1 billion, so it's not even close and if no one is budging I can see why today's meeting is canceled.

I have always been one to think that a CBA won't be worked out until late August at best. I don't know if the folks here who are thinking it will get done soon are on drugs or just prayers but either way I don't see that happening.

The owners are financially ready to sit this one out since the TV revenues are guaranteed, play or not, while the players will get zero, nada, zilch for pay.

Who do you think needs to move towards the other? What a joke that the players cannot see that!

I never thought players had great IQ's in general, but this is right down embarrassing...

Thanks wiki-bay

As soon as I read the article about Goddell and the major issue of drug testing, I figured the talks were all just posturing. Does not surprise me one bit that they have been cancelled.
Lockout here we come!!!!!
