Either you guys/gals loved him or hated him. Me… he held down the opposite side of a Pro-Bowler and one of the best in the league and was thrown at, a lot, and had some tough duties. He seemed to play better when Champ was hurt, but I won’t profess “as you know,” to know the defensive back position as well as I know other spots on the filed so I have to go with the pro’s on what they see and how they call it… you bloggers! 
)
It looks to be an interesting off-season, so stay tuned and let me know what you think because Bly was a topic all year on this blog.

im not defending either side but id like to state that Dre Bly is still the number 2 ranked corner in the nfl right now for career interceptions. Not saying hes the second best in the NFL but i wouldnt rank him under foxy just yet. i like foxworth but i think hes got some time before hes ranked over bly
all these ratings are oppinions and how they did last season Dre could have a career season next year and be the best overall or not start and be the worst NO 1 Knows how he’ll do
I’m not sure were the perseption of me thinking Bly was the be all to end all came from. I was just trying to defend Him as a Human being and felt certain comments were cold calloused and classless which reflect porelly on all Broncos Fan’s. I am not angry at the move but feel it’s a mistake there is a differance. I simply feel He was better than the rest of the CB’s on the TEAM other than Bailey, and it will be hard to replace Him. The harsh truth about playing the CB position in The NFL is without DL, LB and S help you will be burned. I believe as well as some others, if The Broncos D would have been better up front we would be talking about something else. Bly is gone let’s move on.
Nnamdi has been signed, Dunta has been tagged, McAlister Has had some major Knee issues. These would all be upgrades if they were healthy and available.

I definitely agree we need to get Foxy back… that was a worse move than letting Bly go. Would be nice to see the coaches get him back… we could use him this next season. Wow, I almost forgot we had O’Neal a couple years back… that’s like a blur to me. Never left a strong enough impression on me for me to remember him that much. And I agree again, we should retain Paymah.
As for the old fart… you are much closer to that than I am. And I wrote all that because you need to grow up and start acting your age. I never said you should be smacked because that would be a HUGE understatement for you. I said eventually your “talking down” to others will come back to smack you in the face… what you need money can’t buy. I mostly wrote so much because like I told you I LOVE picking fights and I’m good at it. So keep your cheap shots coming… I’ll get “fired up” over something that really matters like this football team, not you.

jack fan, you are right about it being the alphabet. i looked up before my blog to you. my point is the lack of respect you have for other people. oh, keep it up with monodono and 07 elway but going for jay2303 is uncalled for. I hardly ever agree with mono, when i do i hold my tounge, most of the time, but i donot have to try and down grade him. your fighting with each other may have been going on for years, i don’t care.
if some one from another part of the world came to denver he would soon be a bronco fan. right! so he finds these blogs and his first thought is ‘what kind of fans are these, i thought i moved to the mile high city not ______________!!!! and i’ll let elway fill in the blank because she likes fights.

07Elway. You love picking fights in online blogs??? Thats really impressive… You should add that to your resume. I’m blunt with my opinion. Why? Because I can. It always seems to get people like you all riled up too, its kinda funny.
I’ve blogged here for a couple months off and on and I’m already tired of the stupid arguments.

your right we haven’t always agreed but I have always had some respect for your opinoin and as far as Paymah, I’m not trying to start anything I just think He played better than He has gotten credit for as well and it’s the exact same reason’s Bly lost credit. The lack of support up front on the D. In fact I remmember when the Fan’s ran Deltha O’Neal out of town for the exact same reasons and later went on to have a pretty good carrer.
I’ve also noticed how you handle some people who may make a bad comment, by asking them a question you already know the answer to in order to let them think. Well done Sir! You made a very good point about potential new bloggers maybe not wanting to climb aboard for fear of being heckled or berated by a Jack- . You don’t know me at all Jack-Fan… I know more than enough about football… doesn’t make you feel all giddy inside when people belittle you does it… that is my point with you. You think you’re above everyone else, you may not word-for-word say it but you have it in your mind that you’re some kind of “genius”. I seriously doubt that. By picking fights, I don’t mind confrontation, I have no problem telling people like you how you really are and you need to step back into reality and start acting your age. Its pitful how you talk down to others. I told you, if that’s how you treat others its going to come back to you. I’m blunt with my opinion because its the God honest truth… learn to deal with it and just grow up will ya?
I came on here about a year ago to talk football because I love it but its people like you that make it almost not worth it to come on here. Well good morning to all. lets see where did we leave off, (other than people voiceing there opinion and then getting hurt when someone doesn’t agree with you.) Tex what’s up dude, glad to see your voiceing the opinion and not picking the fight. Paymah is a 3 down nickel or dime back. Nothing more. He has been giving the oppritunity to move up but it hasn’t happend yet. Mock draft’s got B.J. Raji going to denver. This move could be good or bad. Athletic, yes he’s got it but only off the first step. MCD is going after players who are smart and since B.J. is not very good academic wise i don’t see him taking him at the 12th pick. Maualuga is a safe bet that can bring leadership to the defense. I see him as a Troy Palamalu player. Mcfadden from the Stealers would be a good 2CB. Brings sucess and leadership. Any thoughts? (Try not to act like your 12 and pick a fight, just answer the question)
You made some great points jay2303. I really like Maualuga but his recent injury kind of worries me… he would be awesome for our defense. Would love to see McDenver pick him up at the draft but I’m not so sure he’d still be there by the time we got our first pick. I’m hoping all the 11 teams before us kinda overlook him so we could snag him up… like I said I’m hoping for that, probably won’t happen. Put his injury aside and he’s exactly what we need defensively.
I like Mcfadden too… now I’m dreaming when I say this, maybe!?! If we could get Mcfadden in FA, we’d have some experience on our defense to go with Champ’s experience and expertise. Then if we could grab Maualuga in the draft we’d have a mixture of both youth and vet talent for our D. I still say we need to get Foxy back… I’ll always say that.

I think that the larger point about Bly is being missed.
Career interceptions doesn’t mean a whole lot when you get them all in three seasons and not produce since then. Not to mention when your team has a 40 point lead over the Lions, your QB can be a little more careless with the ball.
We EXPECT more in Denver! Just like Deltha O’Neal, Bly will go on to have a good career but it hasn’t been enough out-put while wearing Orange and Blue.
I don’t think that our problem will be solved in Free Agency though. Some of the name CB’s that are out there are at the end of their career. 10 years, 13 years in the NFL isn’t going to build a strong future for the Broncos.
My bet…..the Draft will bring a CB our way.

there are only two CB’s in FA’s that I would consider right now Phillip Buchanon 5-11/186 Tampa Bay and Domonique Foxworth 5-10/180 Atlanta.
Only a few CB’s performed well at The Combine Vontae Davis 6-0/204/ JR – Illinois, Keenan Lewis 6-1/198/ SR – Oregon State, Brandon Hughes 5-11/184/ SR – Oregon State, Asher Allen 5-10/180/ JR – Georgia, and Lardarius Webb 6-0/185/ SR – Nicholls State who may be that dark horse in the Draft. Not a Great class, so I don’t have my hope’s very high for this position I hope I’m wrong but the nature of the NFL can kill rookie CB’s. Only time will tell.
By the way, The Broncos sign RB Correll Buckhalter 6-0/222 9th yr. out of Philadelphia and RB J.J. Arrington 5-9/218 5th yr out of Arizona.

#1 Bly didn’t step it up when Bailey was hurt!!! The opposing team just tried to pick on the other side of Bly. Bly got burned multiple times down the field giving up huge touchdowns and huge yardage. I am actually happy that Bly is being released. Jack Williams is faster and more athletic than Bly. Bly was good once but he needs to retire unless he goes to San Diego,Oakland, or Kansas City so Marshall and Royal can torch him.
