Ram Tough or Bronx Mistakes

November 28th, 2010 - 8:49pm by mark_cooper

It was another tough game to watch. We get out of the gates like a team on a mission and the get shut down for the second and third quarters.

I had to keep watching and it almost happened. Almost!! Dog gone it and few other words… Man, that hurts. There were too many turnovers and at the very end a early snap late didn’t help the affair and the sack. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

The telling fact was simply (1-9 or 11%) success on third downs. Stats, don’t you love em. Guess what our average yards per carry was??

Yep, 6.6 and 119 yards??…And we throw for 330 yards. That’s what gets ya. The stats. Not like we can’t get up and down the field. Now the killer….turnovers. In the NFL, that means disaster.

It’s not like we couldn’t move the ball… it was just inconsistent as always. Even the broadcasters were dogging the team, which was a little weird in that they went back to all the draft picks and the prior offense that we had and the guys that are gone. When the game got close again, they didn’t say a word. I guess everyone’s inconsistent…except us here in blogosphere.

Man, that one hurt but the 3rd downs just killed us.

A few friends texted me from the game and said the crowd was booing the coach and the stands were empty…. That kind of bums me out. If anyone has folks that don’t want to go to the game, have them jump in here on this blog and I know a TON of kids that would love to have the chance to go to the game.

I do a radio gig each Tuesday at 4 pm with Mac and Doog and I’m going to reiterate that because the stands should be full every week in this town and I’m a little upset about that. Wow!!

I think we can forget about Dungy, he has said he has no interest in coming back to coach. He is enjoying time with his family right now.

  2. zombified says:

Gruden already declined to have any interest in Miami. He said he wants to get better at this current job (games commentator).

    LeBeau would be great.

And who cares if McD gets upset by reading these comments. He didn’t care about his bad drafting, bad coaching, stubbornness and cheating.

    zombified……AMEN to that!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the post Mark. And all you get is ‘fire McDaniels’ in the comments. OYE!!!

I support my team, and am glad some of Us will always do the same, regardless.

Coop your exactly right ….turnovers, mistakes and bad plays. We have seen it in two games of late…out the gate like a race horse and then the hay ferments and things start to stink. When we do not score in any quarter we most of the time the game is lost. You can go back to 1960 and run the stats. John Lynch made the comment regarding the defense, five years and five coaches. That is bad. Hay, we need Joe collier defensive strategies back. Where is the pressure on the Quarterback? Where are the blitz’s tighten the screws and rattle there cage. Yes you can die by the blitz but you can also make it very miserable for the other guys. We have a future QB lets play him when we have been overrun in the scoring department. You don’t learn how to do your job sitting on the bench. We need to watch the free agency for defensive people as well as the draft. Defenses wins game by not letting the other guys score.

The thing is, Does anyone read these blogs besides us bloggers. Does Mr. Bowlen & Joe Ellis read these blogs. They say they know how upset the fans are. Well if they would read these blogs they would know that the fans are more than upset. I think that Mcd came into this organization with the wrong attitude & know he is fearing for his job. Zombified said it correct. bad drafting, bad coaching & his arrogance has gotten him in trouble. He said he wanted to draft smart playes with character, well thats about 95% of all players coming out of college & universities so I don’t understand why he has a problem drafting players.

Hey Coop and all you dudes…Been enjoying all the speculation about possible replacements for McD…And though I’ve defended him to the end for the majority of his stint here…I’m done. I know that there’s the logic if we were 8-3 nobody would care about spygate 2…well I would! That’s not Bronco Football. That being said…What the H is wrong with our fans? I would give anything to be at the stadium for every game…but the people who are able to go, where’s the support? You leave at halftime? Or don’t bother to go at all? What’s up with that? I know the Broncos are struggling and lots of you are p.o.’d with McD, but for every one fan who thinks they’re proving a point by leaving at the half or not showing up at all…there’s someone like me who wishes I could just be there. No matter who the coach is we’re still BRONCO FANS…Let’s prove it!

when I saw a press conference showed up, I was hoping McDaniels was doing the responsible and mature thing, and step down, self impeachment if you will for his utter inability to coach, maybe he should think about coaching pee-wee and work his way up to college, if he coaches well there for say 5-6 years, then make a claim for head coach in the NFL, good coordinator maybe, he did have Billicheck, good Head Coach, not now, maybe one day, but not now

    hello

BTW! if Josh McD gets fired, Tim Tebow will never play for the Broncos. That means we gave up a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round pick for a non athletic Josh Cribbs and Brad Smith. WOW

  11. Al Wilson 4 Mayor says:

love your blog coop….one can’t argue that TO’s cost us that game.

I wonder however, if there might have been a slightly different outcome of the play calling had been a little different when we went down by 1 point. We came out with 6 consecutive pass plays resulting in two consecutive 3 and outs. The outcome of of that was little to no time taken off the clock, a gassed D, and a game that got out of hand.

    Arm Chair at your service,

    Dennis

If Mr. Bowlen does not fire Mcd at the end of season, someone has to teach Mcd how to draft. We need some good young defensive linemen & a QB that doesn’t choke under pressure. Orton is not the guy (good between the 20′s & for three quarters).

    COOP!
I think some of the blogger here missed your point completely. If you have tickets and can’t or don’t want to go and support your TEAM, then give them up and you will fill them, right? Hehee……Just kidding but that would be so cool.

Im glad Al Wilson 4 Mayor, is paying attention, 3&out’s and turnovers are killing us. It’s the same thing I’ve been preaching for the last 5 year’s. Hence my TIME OF POSSESSION statement.

Listen closely people Coach McDaniels, will not be fired! at least not this year so get over it. I’ve been a McDaniels supporter since He arrived and I still see good things happening here dispite all that’s gone wrong, and I will continue to support Him until His era is over. That doesn’t mean I agree with everything He has done but I got His back.

I can’t turn off a game or walk out, it’s not in my DNA. All I know is When the chips are down is no time to give up. I will watch every second of every game reguardless of the result and still be proud to call myself a Broncos Fan, hell I did it before The Broncos brought in Craig Morton I can do it Now!

COOP! Think you could fill all the seats that come your way? I’d like to seer you try, Hehee…

    TIME OF POSSESSION ! ! !

    GO BRONCOS ! ! !

Great comments as always and I get the point but I’m a homer at heart and see it a little different and that’s why I like blogging because you all bring a different view that often makes me step back and re-think some things at times. It’s not an effort deal by any stretch of the imagination, you’ve heard the guys in the lockerroom and I can tell you first hand your fighting to win ever down no matter what team you play for in the NFL or you’ll get embarassed in a nano-second and to many of those and your watching from your livingroom.

First up, Gruden…man would I have loved to see him at the U but reports say, that is off…BUMMER. He could have brough my old program back to the forefront. Rumors out of the U say the descision was made back around the FSU game to fire Randy. Watching my old college program struggle has been tough too. That one is a effort, emotion and passion issue I can promise you.

Agree with many of the comments that if we can’t stop offense’s and put pressure on the QB, we’re toast. I think we’ve improved on run defense and 5 coaches in 5 years resonates like no other stat. Tough to get continuity. Just think if your boss at work changed each year how tough that would be. Me, I work for myself, so here’s what I’ll do. I’ll fire myself and re-hire myself and experiment for you and let you know what I find. :o )

O.K. I’ll keep my day job and leave the comedy to the comedians, but you almost have to laugh in that we are rebuilding and no one likes it, me included but we have to see where this goes and again give the coach his four year remodeling plan to see if it can be done.

On the fans…sorry I’m not fair weathered. I’m a fan, Win-L-word or Draw. I’m fine if you go and boo your hearts out, wear bags over your heads, you name it. You paid for the tickets, but to no show?? Seriously…give the tickets to some of the bloggers here, my little league guys, kids in the neighborhood….there’s a ton of folks that have never been to a game and would MARVEL at the idea.

I also found this site and didn’t know it existed until the other day: http://www.ticketexchangebyticketmaster.com/NFL/denver-broncos-tickets/?intcmp=tm104530&wt.mc_id=NFL_TEAM_DEN_EMAIL_LINK4

You can buy and sell tickets there so there’s absolutely no reason that folks who don’t want to support the team can’t sell and someone that wants to support the team can go buy??? right? no excuses!! The stadium should be full every week.

Handshake forsake K.C. this week. Love that and hope it turns into a slugfest and a revived rivalry….let’s get it on.

T.O.P., no turnovers and consistency wins!!

    Coopster
