O.K. Gang, in Mexico for the week and couldn’t find the game let alone watch it. Just saw a couple highlights. TV’s in Spanish and all I know is “dos cervesas por favor”.
)
I need some help here. WHAT happened in TT”s first win TALK TO ME and the group….dieing to find out. Got my little guy certified to scuba dive for the last two days since we got here so first real time to get to a cyber café. HELP!!
It’s killin me to know we beat Kubiak and Houston. I’ll be checking back. Details??
Help…………from Mexico Coopster

Hey Coop…. well you certainly chose a bad sunday to be away from the broncos to say the least! TT played a great game! showed poise in the pocket on a few plays even. some good deep balls, a couple bad throws here and there but hey, he is a rookie! it happens.
other than that, you only missed one of the best comebacks ive seen around here in quite a while! it was almost like the broncos of old with a certain number 7 at the helm. A special guy that Tebow! He looked EXACTLY like the leader i thought he would be! finally i think we have a TRUE field general again! the entire team rallied around him and the game winning drive was nothing short of amazing! sorry you missed it! hope you had a good vacation!
HEY COOP, Tim Tebow just got his first 4th qaurter come from behind game. At half time it was 17-0 Houston. First play after half time a 50 yard rollout for a strike. Last play by Tim Tebow was a 6 yard TD run. Very special. Tebow is Our future QB I`d say.
Coopster, all I got to say is bro,you missed one Helluva game, the team rallied behind Tebow, just like a certain QB we all know and love.Tebow is starting to insert himself in the NFL,I’m not saying he is ready for the probowl, but did very well for a Rookie,308 yds passing 1 TD 1 int,and a 6 yd rushing TD.The Defense sucked it up in the 2nd half too,the best I’ve seen them play in a while.Since we beat Houston and Kubiak like you said,I think he will be fired, and there is a good chance he will be the next HC of the Broncos….what do you think of Kubiak as HC and Dennison as OC??
Brandon Lloyd just made his first ProBowl. Bummer that Champ didn`t make it.
Coop, why would you pull our legs getting us to tell you on here how the game went when you can read like Saccomano’s “another start, more records” blog or many other accounts of the game in your little mexicano cybero el cafe. I know, you are just taking the easy way out from working on a blog during your vacation so you drop three lines and make us work for you, hahaha, good one big guy!
Anyhow, una mas cerveza por favor! Enjoy Mexico, be safe, watch out for the shark infested waters down there, if you think going up against D linemen is tough you haven’t seen anything yet, LOL. And the mexican mafia is another beast to wrestle with down there these days I hear. Seriously, be safe, I just had a friend coming back from Accapulco last month and they had a drive by shooting in town right then killing people and the police had a lock down curfew of the town for the rest of her vacation.
Well since people have already answer coop I would just like to say a big congratulations to Brandon Lloyd. Well deserved…wish he was younger so we could have him longer…but 29 aint bad. Many more for him I hope. This is the first year I did NO probowl voting because our team was complete trash….DJ piled on the tackles however…over 100 and Champ is forever a probowler in my book and shoulda made it…but since I didnt vote, I have no right to complain (Clady would too normally but this year hasnt been his best)….Congrats to Lloyd none the less…
Congrats to Lloyd, absolutely well deserved. “Spiderman” Lloyd, no one snags balls out of the air everywhere and holds on to just about every single one of them like he does.
Bailey must be really bummed since he was tied in the league for the lead with consecutive pro bowls with like 9 I think, he could of stood alone with one more. I thought he played well enough to deserve it, but let’s face it, when you play on a D as sorry as ours, not many are going to give you any respect.
Yeah 10 pro bowl appearances would of been an NFL record for cornerbacks, too bad, it would of been well deserved to make him stand above the rest.
Actually I don’t believe it’s consecutive, so he still has maybe another shot next year, seriously doubt it though, it’s really like an injustice he didn’t get selected, bummer for Bailey…
Yeah but what gets me is Devin McCourty beat Champ out as the 3rd CB,I knew Revis and Asomugha we’re definite shoe ins,but to get beat out by McCourty (a Rookie) is a joke,Champ should be in the pro bowl!!!!!
Congrats to Lloyd on his 1st pro bowl, other than Champ,we didn’t really have any other players that were deserving.IMO.
I see Pouncey made it tho! wished we woulda drafted him,but oh well.
BTW Coop, I love your “one in a row” title, absolutely freaking hilarious, sad but true and hilarious nonetheless. One more shot at a winning streak this Sunday, LOL.
Bailey snubbed:
The absence of Bailey from the Pro Bowl roster was an unpleasant surprise for the Broncos. After shutting down Arizona’s Larry Fitzgerald and shutting out Kansas City’s Dwayne Bowe this month, it seemed that Bailey was set to make his 10th Pro Bowl in his 12-season career. But the New York Jets’ Darrelle Revis, Oakland’s Nnamdi Asomugha and New England’s Devin McCourty were selected over Bailey.
The only other seasons in which Bailey was not selected to the Pro Bowl were 1999 — his rookie season — and 2008, when he missed seven games because of a groin injury.
Bailey was robbed. But with a poor D there`s no respect for even a shut down CB like Champ. Was McCourty that good or was he just voted because he plays for the Pats. He`s no Champ. Not by a long shot.
Bay, same as Lious Wright. He shut down every WR in sight. Wright should even be in the HOF. QB`s never threw the ball his way. Champ is like another Lious wright.
You know what this disgust me…Darrell Revis is the most overated guy in the NFL…missed alot of time this season…less tackles than Champ…no INTs and No Sacks…champ has 2 INts and 1 sack and he makes it over him. Even Nnamdi too. The only reason Champ isnt making it is because our D as a whole sucks but that never stopped Nnamdi from makign it…They used to be mad champ always made it (supposedly off name) but thats all Nnamdi and Revis are doing now…Champ desereved to go. Its a shame…but then again its just a popularity contest anyway so who cares…I just beleive he deserves it…cant believe he was snubbed…but then again I didnt vote this year for pro bowl…not even once….
Most of the people that live in the eastern part of the US don`t pay atention to the west. Just saying.
A word about the best
Champ Bailey sat down with Denver Post reporter Jeff Legwold and broke down the list of top-tier receivers he has faced this season, as well as looking ahead to Sunday’s possible matchup with Andre Johnson.
Colts’ Reggie Wayne
4 receptions, 65 yards, no TDs
“The best route runner in football. Competitive — if he wants to get open, he’s probably going to. You just try to get the ball out once he gets it or hope Peyton (Manning) misses.”
Ravens’ Anquan Boldin
1 reception, 8 yards, no TDs
“Tough, strong, one of the best when he has the ball in his hands. Just consistent and not afraid to go anywhere on the field. There’s a lot of contact with a guy like that. You’ve got to stay in there or he’ll overpower you.”
Chiefs’ Dwayne Bowe
0 receptions, 0 yards, no TDs
“Growing all the time. One thing about him is he is competitive — if he just keeps working, keeps doing what he’s doing now, he could be one of the best. He looked lighter this year, faster. Even a little deceptive at times, he gets right up on you and his body angle isn’t really like it would be for most guys who are at top speed.”
Cardinals’ Larry Fitzgerald
6 receptions, 72 yards, no TDs
“Strong, very strong. And the ball skills, he’s the best there is. I don’t think he’s second to anyone when the ball is in the air. You give him enough space, he’s got vision and he will just play the ball better than you do.”
Houston’s Andre Johnson
Bailey could face him Sunday
“I think he’s the best in the game, him and Fitzgerald. There are no weaknesses there. Same for Fitzgerald. Those guys do it all: they block, they get open, they run with the ball, they don’t curse out their quarterbacks. They play a level-headed game, just get the job done year in, year out.”

Strand, I just got that three game DVD set, absolutely worth it, specially the 97 SB, it has all the team introductions on the field before the game and the whole game minus the commercial, the 98 SB is great too, but they start the game without doing the intruction part, both good TV pic quality from back before HD. The 77 game is on the other hand a fabulous account of the entire game but it looks just like it did on my old TV set in 1977, real crappy quality picture, but who cares, it just makes me feel even more like I did when I was watching it then live. 380 some minutes of viewing, and it all shows on a widescreen format, a must for any Bronco fan, just thought you would like to know, still waiting for the history of the Denver Bronco 2 disc set, it’s like my Christmas is just starting, haha.
His worst game…only bad game…was the first game against the chiefs…bowe did alot of work but thats because we were playing 10 yards off so we wouldnt give up big plays….the play calling did champ no favors…we barely had a pass rush this year…when he plays man he does it solo…hands down the best. Shuts guys DOWN!!!
Wow, aaron rodgers, Hillis, Chris Johnson, and Larry Fitz were snubbed as well…Fitz didnt have a good year because of his QBs so I understand…but the rest…wow….
Cool Bay. I`m ordering it tomorrow. Payday for me tomorrow. Christmas put me a little behind and thats alright. My top priority is to order that awesome DVD. I can hardly wait.
Agreed, it’s a travesty Bailey didn’t make it, I already spoke my peace about it.
Yeah, I figured you’ll love that 77 AFC title game since you saw it back then too, it’s like a weird feeling of deja vu, except I hardly remember any of it, so it’s like watching a “brand new” old game if you know what I mean.
Even though the qaulity of the 1977 game will not be that great, it`s still going to be very special. Once again, thanks for the info on that DVD set. I told all my Bronco buddies.
It`s going to be neat to see Randy Gradishar, Tom Jackson, Lyle Alzado, and the rest of the Orange Crush. Man!!
Ok Bay and Stand
Please post a link to the DVD!
FTR
Bay I was only 14 years of age when the Bronco`s played that historic game.
FTR, NFLSHOP. Go to DVDS. Find Broncos. 3 DVD set SuperBowls 1997, 1998, and the 1977 AFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME> We won the raiders and went to the SuperBowl. HaHa!
Yeah, just like at the beginning of the game, when they write the starting line ups on the screen in this real old and odd looking writing, it just like gives you chills to read the names and when we get on D the first time just watch Alzado absolutely plowing their RB, and the Raider names are awesome too, Stabler, Belitnekoff, Cliff Branch, Casper, Art Shell, Gene Upshaw, Matuscak, Ted Hendricks, Jack Tatum, Ray Guy, studs all around and you just can’t believe we actually beat these guys. Too bad the young fans here don’t understand what that meant at all, maybe this will help just a tat.
Well I was 7 years old in ’77 and didn’t start watching the NFL till I was 13 (1983,Elway was a Rookie and Mr.B took over the team) so I have never seen the ’77 Superbowl,so like FTR said please post a link.LOL.
Yeah FTR, nflshop.com, the DVD section click on denver broncos and you’ll find it, “Nfl greatest game denver Broncos”, I got it at 20% off last week with freight for about $25, an incredible value to me, PRICELESS.
Historic!! Ken stabler and Billy Casper. That brings back some memories.
Strand, I was 23.
Elways rookie year was my first year out of high school. Man, I getting old. Well kind of. HaHa!
Well my very 1st game was the Raiders vs Redskins Superbowl Jan ’83.
Ya back in the good old ROCK N ROLL days.
Wasn’t it Raiders-Eagles?
Bay,as usual you are right,I get mixed up sometimes.lol.
Baltimore Colts, Houston Oilers, L.A. Rams, ST. Lious Cardinals. Am I missing anything?
No that was the 1981 SB.
January of 83 was the miami-redskins SB I think.
Yeah Miami vs Washington ’83.
Eventually we always get there, LOL.
Redskins vs Raiders Jan ’84.
LOL.
Them Raiders were good back then, LOL.
Coop so you got your youngster certified in scuba diving! Way cool. My brother was down there on vacation last year. Did the guy that certified him tell him to go buy some Chezz Wiz? You know like the stuff you put on crackers! The fish will come and eat it if he is very still. Soon he will be surrounded with bright colored fish! LOL!
FTR
Ya, and that was the game where Tom Jackson went up to John Madden and said, The games over fat man. LMAO
Yeah them Raiders was good back then…LMAO.
Like when we beat them in 77 in the AFC championship, the whole football world was stunned, it was utter delirium in Colorado all the way to the SB, people were painting their entire houses orange!!!! Unfortunately it will never be like that again, I’m just lucky that I was able to live it.
