With Henry gone, we have:
Selvin Young
Michael Pittman
Ryan Torian
Andre Hall
Anthony Aldridge
Plenty of depth and ability in that crew. I like the group. What do you guys think? Thumbs up or thumbs down. I agree with Mike. Sometimes you have to cut your losses. We have the depth, and if we can keep healthy this year, we should make some progress on last season’s record.

4-12 and 3-13 thats funny the cheifs are gettin no love ill give em 6 wins at least i think they can take steps forward with the additions theyve made to the team. I dont think they can do much in the division but they play some bad teams so i think theyll look better than they really are
I like a mix of Ciscos and Bronco14441…. I think we’ll make it to the playoffs… and so do most people from the cast of NFL Network’s NFL total access (if you have NFL network you know what i mean by Total Access)… Chargers will defenetly still be the division champs… but hopefully not… I personally think that chargers are that GA-REAT… and the Broncos can defenetly take ‘em on… but based on the past i think AFC WEST goes to Chargers
M.C the Great actually said something that got my attention, when he bombarded my computer with all the problems we have. But what’s even more alarming is that all of the things he said are absolutely dead on. But what’s even MORE ALARMING is the responses he got back. Ya’ll say the Broncos have problems but they’re no big deal because every team has problems, but that is total bs when it comes to us. We shouldn’t be like most teams. We should not have lost to the sorry @$$ Texans, Raiders, or Bears, and dropping two to the Chargers both in blowout fashion doesn’t make me very excited. I’m sorry if I sound like a non-believer but I’m anxious but scared for next season because Slowik is of the same mold of the last defensive coordinator we had, and last time I checked that guy gave us a 31st ranked run defense, only above the Raiders. Yall make it sound as if our problems are small problems that anyone can live with but their not. No Championship team or even playoff team can survive with our problems. We can’t stop the run and Niko is not the guy, there is a reason the Seahawks replaced him in his prime with Lofa Tatupu and don’t give me that “because he’s a monster” because they did know he would evolve into a pro bowl MLB in two seasons. Our offensive line situation doesn’t look that great because unless we get 4 more Ryan Clady’s we’ll be doomed at the LOS. I say that because age has cost us Tom Nalen’s better days(He is a beast but we’ll only have him for like two more seasons), Ryan Harris protected Brady Quinn and ask Brady those days weren’t great when he was getting beasted on at Notre Dame, and don’t even get me started on the guards, I’ll go all day.
Don’t get me wrong we have all kinds of talent on the perimeter, but I think the Giants game reminded us all where Championships are won, IN THE TRENCHES. Our running attack is set but as far as our so called “scary receiving corp” goes, I’m not impressed. For all the believers in Darrell Jackson, I have to ask, what happened in San Fransisco. And to top that what about Seattle? Folks, there is a reason people get cut and traded and outright released in this league, Darrell wasn’t getting the job done therefore thine @$$ had to be let go. And Samie Parker didn’t even start in Kansas City, and they had no receiving threats at all so what make everyone think he’s the answer. He has explosive speed but his hands are not even nearly up to par. The way I see it if you can’t start on the Chiefs at WR you don’t belong in this league, their receivers are all garbage besides Dwayne Bowe.
I know some of you will want to eat me up for this but it had to be said, now can someone break it down for me why we’ll belong in the AFC title game, let alone a superbowl with the problems we have?
P.S- M.C the Great hit the nail on the head, but gets abused on here for being a realist, now I’m not calling how he abuses everyone’s opinion correct but he gets points in my book for his objectivity. You can’t look at our squad and it’s issues and say we’re a championship team objectively and I’d like to thank M.C for being realistic on that.
Im kinda neutral… i want and believe that we can do a ton better but deep down inside i worry… But i strongly believe that we’ll be back in to the playoffs like we usually are… but the catch is it will be wild card. I really dont see us going far. If we do get that wild card spot, then hopefully we could win the next game, but i doubt it.
Now with the WR issue… I dont think it’s as bad as some think. I also dont really see Jackson doing great but he will contribute in a way. B-Marsh and Stokley will be our main guys, Even though Stokley is considered 3rd on the depth chart, he willl do tons better then jackson. I also think you’ll see some of Royall… but some. Since he is a rookie, he’ll probably just focus more on the returning and some recieving. But hopefully Jay can indeed make Jackson look like a great player… Which brings me to my next point… Cutler is healthy now… we know his problem, and i think that will make all the recievers look a lot better.
In the words of Cisco… This is my oppinion and dont bite my head of please…..
Djax is gonna be great, he did crap in san fran, because, who didnt do crap in san fran? It’s called alex smith is the problem out there. He has a great upside in denver and i expect him to turn some heads. Sammie Parker, I am skeptical about, but again, they havent had a qb have a great season in time….. Colbert, again some upside, nobody did great last year in carolina since jake D went down. Not even steve smith. And when jake d was healthy, everyone knows he rarely threw to anyone outside smith. So lets give them the benefit of the doubt until they give us a reason to say they wont get it done. Word floating around camp is that this is the best lineup of wr’s we have had in a while. Most positive group, which leads to good team chemistry. There’s my two cents, take it or leave it.
AGREED….
Haha! Jayfrizzle, you hit it on the button with the WR issue. Alex Smith was and STILL is the problem im San Fran. Djax has good speed and Parker is one of the fastest in the NFL. Lets just see how they work out with a QB that can bomb it 63 yards off of his back foot. Lets just see how they can produce with some talent.
Broncostildadayidie, think about it. We won 7 games last year with a load of injuries, especially in the trenches. We did not have great depth and outside DJ, the linebacking core didn’t do produce. Cutler was losing weight and strength and Walker was out. Lepsis was struggling. I could go on a bit more but im sure everyone gets the point.
Now look. We have depth, Cutler is healthy, and hopefully we can keep the injury bug away. Lots of you including me were skeptical about Niko but look at the improvment from last year at linebacker. If you ask me, we are way better this year. So much talent!
Don’t get me wrong, I like the different views, it makes for great debates. But in the end I am being very realistic saying we will be in the playoffs considering we weren’t that far off last year with the team we had. And maybe/possibly, if the Chargers happen to have some key players go down considering their durability is questionable and no depth, we could win division. But my prediction stays the same. We get to playoffs in the wild card with a record of 10-6 and maybe 11-5. I think we will make it to the 2nd round and we will see from there.
Thanks Guys, seems like i have a catch phrase now hahaha!
I guess I’ll give my predictions:
SD: 12-4
DEN: 11-5
OAK: 7-9
KC: 5-11
Now you know I really agree with everything you said Cisco, but what’s been unaddressed constantly by everyone here is Darrell Jackson. I understand that Alex Smith is a bust, but last I checked, Matt Hasselbeck is a pro bowl QB and the decision to let go of good receivers would usually upset QB’s. You notice how unupset he was with the letting go of DJAX, shouldn’t that tell you something. And the 11-5 is extremely realistic, thanks for not going crazy on me and saying “ohh, we’re so good we’ll return to 05 form and better and go 15-1. Because we still have alot of building to do.
And you have all made great points about the linebacking corp but I still don’t sleep well knowing my season could be decided by Niko in the middle. That makes me uneasy, I explained earlier why I don’t like him but I guess only time will tell. Now if he smashes LT or gives Philip Rivers the hit of a life time that would change my perspective but until then I’ll wait and if you all are right you’ll see me on here apologizing for having doubted him.
Go Broncos!!!
Personally I’m excited for the upcoming years in denver. This is the list of quality players we have that have 3 years or less of expirience:
Cutler
Marshall
Scheffler
Young
Dummervil
& We’ll see about rookies Clady and Royal
All these guys have THE POTENTIAL to be great NFL starters for years and years to come if they develope and work hard. Yes, Marshall’s injury will slow down his improvment but he’s a WR and they hardly have to do any work on half the plays so i don’t see it affecting him very much on the field. And no, we don’t know about Young yet but Shanahan seems to have faith in him and come on, they could stick Ebinezer Ekuban in the broncos backfield and he’d have a 1000 yards season. Well, not literally but you get the point. So no matter what happens this year, we’ll keep getting better and hopefully, in a couple years we’ll get back to the superbowl and take home the trophy.
Go Broncos!
-broncos14441-
I think Niko will do GOOD… Now not great…but good. This is like what i said about Djax… Djax will not be our great WR… but he’ll do well enough to help us improve with his experience. Now with Niko i dont see him getting a Defensive player of the year award… or any great title for that year… but i think he is a safe player to have there. W/ his speed and intensity in the game, he’ll help us get by.
Now I say this from what I think… But I really hope I’m wrong and I hope that he is GREAT… But as of right now I think he is good
Like what Jayfrizzle was trying to get across…. Basically dont just automatically assume that these guys wont do good… Just give ‘em a chance because they just might surprise you…
My Final Thoughts: Niko and DJax seem to be the more popular ones to debate about… My thoughts are that they will both do good. They wont be those players that when you think of the Denver Broncos you picture Niko tackling someone or Djax making a catch… i think you leave that to Cutler, Lynch, and Bailey…. but these two will do G-O-O-D…
Broncostildadayidie it seems weve destroyed bronco wonder land where Cutler and marshel deliver the mail, and mike is the mayor, and youve got 4 bronco cheerleaders and champ baily on your speed dial.
But really every one on here is basically saying 10 or 11 wins, i just think that some of us see a possibility for greater acheivment and are afraid of of another 7-9 year. While some of us dont see 7-9 as a possibility. So i think that fear 0f another 7-9 season after all if we wouldnt have kicked to devin hester TWICE, and champ not get beat on a out route in the end zone, and with all of that we lost that game by 3 points, got burnt by james jones in over time. that puts us at 9-7 and that was with no javon walker a o line that was useless on the goal line. But thats been the last 2 years in 06 it was oh it was cutlers first year and all that, basically some of us dont want any more excuses as ligitament as they mey be, we just want results, and for this team to live up to its potential. And i honestly think that this year this teams potential shale be realised.
realistically,
I believe we can win 13 games with the talent on this team. It’s just a matter of finishing teams off. But 11 or 12 wins seems like a more likely win total, so on my final standings, i will go with
Broncos 12-4
Chargers 11-5
Cheifs 3-12
raiders 3-12
Hey it looks like by the end of game one, walker might be found laying on the ground unconscious for the second time this year, give em a good lickin lynch, like the one you put on the cincy receiver at the beginning of all those bronco videos. I love that hit.
You’re all on fire. I didn’t know a few things I just learned about Pittman either, but you guys went after each other…..hmmm. Passionate about the game, I love it.
The predictions were interesting too. The Bolts, unfortunately are the guys we have to chase and I like our chances with the rest of the division (If we stay healthy)…last year was the worst I’d seen in some time, injury-wise, but that’s the NFL.
Camps not far off. In the day, the 4th of July was the last real weekend off and if I wasn’t in TIP-TOP shape at that point I’d be scared to death. So you really pushed hard after the season, maybe take a week or two off and then get back in the gym and start getting going before the 4th of July. Sure there were mini-camps but the real push was for early July..to be ready to compete again.
We’re better on paper than a year ago, so I’m anxious to see how we look in camp. Go Broncos!!
Coop
Wow Coop… that is the best way to put how I, and most, people feel about the broncos… “We’re better on paper than a year ago”… That’s the perfect way to put it… As of right now we are way better than last year… but time will tell if we really are or not
hey jazzy could you go down the schedule and pick the 12 or 13 games you say where gona win
kc
kc
oak
oak
sd
NO
TB
Mia
Atl
Car
Buf
NE, we usually have their number, thats 12
and we will have a shot a beating the browns
When you look at those teams… It really boosts my confidence. It is VERY VERY possbile to get 12 wins…. but at the same time it is possible not to…
hey anything is possible. And with us, we will probably end up getting some games backwards. Meaning we lose to miami (they have our number lately) and then we beat jacksonville. Any given sunday.
Thanks for the blog Coop, it’s the only blog on here that is worth anything.
I definately agree with you Steph. Coop I’m glad you give us really good topics to talk and debate about. It really teaches me a lot of things that I didn’t know or realize. And although we are capable of winning 12 this year, I still believe we will win 10 or 12. Good talking to you guys, see you on Coop’s next blog.
Sorry, I meant 10 or 11
It’s ok Cisco… we all make mistakes
Coop. thanks for actually interacting on your blog. We love it when you leave comments and join in the conversation. Thanks, I look forward to your next blog.
Its not too far out there, i have us splittins the series with oakland and loosing both games to the chargers, cause I donth think our offense has changed that much and it only put 6 points on them last year, but if our o line improves then i think we can score some points on them. How we play in our first 4 games will tell alot about how this year will go.
Mark my words, the raiders WILL NOT beat us again this year. And we were in such a mess last year defensively that we were getting killed by the chargers. We have a much improved D this year, much healthier. And our o line is improved and without javon and travis, who in my opinion had a lot to do with out offense not having any unity and being distracted. So I will personally be disappointed this year if we lose both games to SD, even more so if we dont improve on last year. Now oakland has a few new cancerous bugs and they just won’t get any better until Al Davis is dead, as he just won’t retire.
I beg to differ… Our offense has changed a lot… Cutler is healthy…. We have WR that have actually had a starting position in their career(and we have a lot more depth a WR)… Cutler, Marshall, and Sheffler are all getting better and have matured into their role on the team more… We have a stonger and healthier O line… RB is kinda tuff but we have experience and depth their… Our offense is much better and has changed

here is an interesting link which is titled something like so: Mark my words, Denver will go 13-3. Of coarse its just an opinion, but the dude backs up his statement very well. Check it out. And btw, I forgot on my list of teams we will beat the new york jets. When I saw New York on the list @ Giants stadium, I thought it was the jets. But we will beat them and according to this article, we have the 3rd or 4th easiest schedule on paper.
*correction, I thought it was the Giants, not the jets, and it is the jets.
****LOVED IT!!*****
Perfect!
2 THUMBS UP!
IF YOU HAVNT READ THE ARTICLE FROM THE LINK ON JAZZYFRIZZLE, THEN DO SO NOW!!!
Thank you JazzyFrizzle for posting that article link
Ok, you just described our WR situation from 2 years ago, walker is now marshall and the #2 spot was an unknown, high on potnetial but low on stability at the TE spot, 2 years ago our o line was healthy.
The only things i see that can change our offense is how selvin plays, Im hopefull royal will be our #2, and will schef stay healthy. I am honestly not convinced on the rest of the wide outs we have so all hope goes into royal being a great #2 then stokely can stay at the 3 spot. And really if selvin has the year every one wants him to have the #2 wr spot wont be all that important.
And th emore i look at it the more i see that, if we dont give games away we could win 12 or 13 games, i just dont want to be the jags from a few years ago, or the cowboys from this year. It is possible but i dont want to hear how weve become jugernaughts after this year after beating up on bad teams
What will the WR Depth Chart be this year? I cant decide but right now this it go’s like this:
1. Marshall
2. Jackson
3. Stokley (seems like most people have forgot about him)
3. Eddie Royal
4 or 5. Keary Colbert
4 or 5. Samie Parker
6. Glenn Martinez
No one has forgot about Stokley, it’s just his position is taken care of and no one is debating on who will get #3 because it is taken by him
I sure hope brandon marshall doesn’t get suspended, the nfl is starting to investigate his three arrests from last year. Them in charge should watch his latest video on this website and see that he has changed and that he is lookiing to be a role model.
he was arrested but never charged with any thing and its done and over wit. The NFL wont get involved if no agency gets involved.
would anybody else like to see what a 1st round talent rb could do with our line? dont get me wrong i like young alot but its scary to look at what he did last year and think what would happen if we got a guy with peterson type talent, i know there wont be another guy just like him but i mean some1 comprable in terms of speed power vision and all of that. anyones thoughts?
oh i also love how theyve had that 1 blog up there for like a week now with no posts on it but this 1s at 100 and something, did any1 see the 1 that was put up that had some1 complaineing about cutler at fan fair and it was gone the next day?
Actually M.C the Great, the league will go after you. I know you said if no agencies are involved but Pacman never was convicted of anything and it’s not like Brandon isn’t a repeat offender so watch out. Not to mention Goodell isn’t exactly Paul Taglibou or however you spell it, he’s pretty damn heavy handed.(excuse the language). I sure hope Brandon doesn’t turn into our scenario of Chris Henry from the Bengals?
Marshall is no Chris Henry. But you are right. No conviction is needed. The NFL is a union and they have their own rules, if you violate them or even if they just don’t like what you did, they can suspend you or even the head coach can bench you. But Marshall is a good guy, his heart is to be a leader. He just seems to be very emotional and he has a hard time controlling his anger when he is upset. I think he will get zero arrests this year.
oh i was speaking on the NFL investigating, they have very little power to actually discover any thing other than players body fluids……. How did we get on this topic any way.
But Jmonk Im right there with ya ive been saying the same thing why is mike against getting the best talent at the RB position when he goes for the best talent at every other position.
sometimes i think its because of the guys weve had doing so well he thinks he doesnt need to go out and spend all of that money on a 1st round rb when when a 5th and 6th(or something along those lines) will do, i cant blame him for his thinking because it works but i gotta admit i loved it when people would talk about who was the rb in the league that every1 wanted on their team and a majority would say td.
which he was a 6th or 7th rounder. so having an elite back is being missed, but td and cp both prove that they dont need to be a first round back.
excerpt from an article i read:
Marshall’s arrest two days later was his third in a year, and his latest run-in with the law has put him under the league’s scrutiny. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello confirmed Wednesday the league was reviewing Marshall’s March 6 arrest, for which he faces a misdemeanor battery charge for allegedly hitting girlfriend Rasheedah Watley.
He was released from jail the next day after posting $1,000 bond.
Under the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy, Marshall could be suspended because of his multiple arrests and alleged incidents. He’s due in court in September for a trial on a drunken driving arrest on October 2007.
So it is possible, lets just hope it doesn’t happen
Man I sure miss Clinton Portis, he had the potential to be the premier back of the league, I’m sorry I know i’ll get flack for this but I’m starting to think we got the worst part of that trade with the Redskins. Just think about it they gave us a corner who’s career was half-way over anyway for what was thought to be at the time, the best back in the league. By now for us he probably might have won an MVP or two and we have nothing to show for getting the best corner in the league. Sure, I know how good he is but we have no rings to dignify it, Champ is a great Bronco but the NBA draft I watched last night reminded me you shouldn’t give up your best young talent for an older guy for the so called “win now” situation. Which is what we were in when we got Champ. The draft made me think of how if you go into that we’re gonna do whatever we have to do to win now, then you had better win now. Because you have completely abandoned “down the road” when your best players are gone.
Look at the Celtics, in three to four years they’ll be in complete devastation, because they’ll have no KG, Ray Ray, or PP. It may sound stupid that I’m using basketball analagies but what you do with your young talent affects what direction your franchise goes in, regardless of the sport.
When we took Bailey it was to win now, but we haven’t the championships to show the mode we went into, and now Bailey is approaching the downside of his career and CP is the centerpiece of the Redskin franchise. So you look down the line and tell yourself and me who got the best of that trade. (And this isn’t directed at any one person but to the overall Bronco nation)
That trade didnt work out for any one, Portis hasnt came close to the type of numbers that he had while he was here, and they traded him cause he wanted a new contract and denvers policy is they wont give you have to play out your whole rookie contract before they give you a new one and portis wasnt hearin that. But our system wasnt perfect for Clinton but our Defensive system isnt right for champ Its just all wrong
you are both crazy! We got the way better end of that deal. I don’t know how a couple of rebuilding seasons can throw you guys off so badly. The past three years, champ has had a combined 21 picks, and he would have had more if he wasnt playing the run last year when our d line just couldnt get it done. And yes, last years system was wrong for champ, but it was wrong for the whole dang team. We also got tatum bell out of that trade who did put up some pretty decent numbers for a few years. CP is injury prone and he is on the decline much more than champ. Ask most people who really know the league and they will say that champ is the best corner in the league. A few years back, people stopped throwing to champs side because it would get picked off almost every time. Give the hall of famer some slack, last year our D just didn’t click. We had the worst fricken run defense we have ever had. So you bet teams are gonna shove the run down our throats and the coaches told champ that he had to help stop it when it got past the front guys. If our line does as good as it has the potential to do, and our LB’s do their jobs right, then we will have plenty of pressure on the QB’s and Champ and Bly will be the leading duo of corners in the league like everyone thought they would be last year. Bates was a joke. And luckily Slow knows what he is doing and he is much more aggressive. And just for the records, Champ is only three seasons older than CP, and because running backs careers are so much shorter than corners, darn right you will get flack for saying champ is on his downside, and CP is the centerpiece. Because the Skins havent gotten any further with CP in the playoffs than we have with champ. And one man doesnt win a football championship.
That was perfectly said Jazzyfrizzle, looks like somebody did his research.
I never said Bailey wasn’t good, but if you want to blast me, then answer my question how many rings do we have to show for the hall of famer, Portis hasn’t even hit his true prime yet and Bailey is damn near out of it, so answer the question. If you want to talk about our rebuilding, when you’re rebuilding, your usually not in the Superbowl hunt for 3 maybe 4 years or longer, Bailey is an 11th year corner this year, who’s to say he’ll play that much longer. His skills would allow him to but he could pull a Barry Sanders and go out with much more in him. LT has alot of good years in him and he said he might not even play 5 more seasons to get the rushing record, so who’s to say Bailey will want to play the amount of seasons required for our “rebuilding” to be done.
And as far as your little tidbit about Tatum Bell, last time I checked he was a backup running back in Detroit, so what is he doing? And Clinton Portis is the centerpiece of the Redskins, the only reason his numbers aren’t ridiculous is because he lets Ladell Betts get some reps.
dude,
I am not ripping you i am stating facts. Portis will retire before champ, running backs wear faster. Tatum bell put up good stats for us for a good seasons, read carefully, and if you want to take it a step further, I don’t care what he is doing now, because we got Dre Bly. So in reality, we got bly and champ out of the Portis trade. CP was in his prime with us, he got injured in washington which is why Betts took his carries a couple years ago, he shined, so of coarse he still gets a few carries. CP has a few good seasons left, and thats it. When a team changes direction at QB, especially with a young QB, expect a couple of years for the team to get good. I was simply giving you flack, like you stated you would get and telling you why I disagree. Thats technically not a rip. I work very hard at not ripping other denver fans. Bailey has played 9 seasons and is going into his 10th. Not 11th. CP has played 6 and is going on 7. And I never said that you said Bailey wasn’t good, I disagreed with your statement that we got the worst end of the trade and with MC’s statement that our system isn’t right for bailey. That just is not true. So please read the facts I state before jumping to conclusions. So to answer your rhetoric question, we have won zero rings with champ. As have the skins won zero with CP. This is our third year under Jay and he will do great, as will our team. we will make the playoffs. One last thing you, cant compare a RB’s longevity with a corners. It’s just a proven fact that RB’s start losing it after so many carries. Shaun Alexander is a great example, MVP RB, he doesn’t even have a job and he played for 8 seasons and lost it in his 8th. Edgerrin James? So I say CP has 2 or three good seasons left in him, and he finishes without a ring.
Water covers 2/3 of the earth, champ covers the other. I love that saying.
