$39.52 Million worth of new faces.
Goodman
Dawkins
JJ Arrington
Buchalter
Gaffney
Hill
Reid
Simms
Paxton
Fields
Davis
Jordan
I’ll need to do some research on most of these guys, but I know I can count on you all to help fill me in.
Monodono, I saw the article on Simms but wasn’t sure what you were looking at in it. I’m not a Simms fan because his Dad kept me from a Superbowl ring
). Just kidding, he’ll make a nice addition to the team. Now Simms’ fishing gear and accessories… some of the best stuff out there along with Scientific Angler and GLoomis rods. Couldn’t resist, sorry. You know how I like to flyfish.
O.K. I’ll stop being self serving……..nah.
I’m really curious what you all know about the $39+M dollar guys we just signed. Curious on your take other than maybe Dawkins, Arrington and Paxton.
Love to hear what your opinions are.

Coop, you know what’s starting to piss me off, McDaniels keeps adding former New England Patriots to his roster in Denver. We are not the Pats, get over it and move on. I’m all for adding some former faces from the Pats but this is Bronco country!!! Gee how many is it now, 4 or 5 from the Pats and almost a deal at one point to get Cassel. Someone needs to give McDaniels a wake up call!!!
My only concern is I think some of the young guys proved that they can hang and play very well!! I would hate for a some of them to be automatically benched or worse. I really think all of the signings were pretty good. However are they where we needed them most? : )
“Al the Broncos Pal” aka “Ala Wishes”
I personally dont see any problem with the guys that have been brought in. If they are hard working dedicated players and coach McDaniels sees that in these guys then I have all the faith in these decisions. Coach knows what he wants and knows what all of us want. More W’s at the end of the year. I cant be upset with that goal and if its a realistic goal, which any goal is attainable with the right amount of tenacity and motivation, then call me a bandwagon fan cos Im on board, Weather you like it or not. This team needs our support RIGHT NOW and the sooner everyone realizes that the better off this thing is gonna be. Whos with me?
I don’t see any problems at all…….it’s all about the W’s at the end of the season, right? At least it’s not former Browns like it’s been for last umpteen years! Give them a chance to fight for a spot and roll the dice from there. I’m just glad to see something is being done on the defensive side of the ball.
Hey Coop, What’s your take on all this Cutler trade stuff? Any accuracy to it? And how about Marshall being in the news again? I hope this doesn’t turn into a dysfunctional offense for next year.
heres how i rate our signings
Goodman B+
Dawkins A+
JJ Arrington C
Buchalter C+
Gaffney B-
Hill C(decent pick up but dont see him starting so spent to much money)
Reid B-
Simms B
Paxton D(we already had a good LS)
Fields D
Davis B
Jordan B
Peterson A (he’ll be great at End)
I think they addressed all the offense the did in free agency because the plan on ONLY DRAFTING DEFENSE!!!
Stop freaking out!!!
After the draft, I don’t think I’ll see people complaining about the lack of defensive moves.
I hope they trade down to the end of the 1st round to pick up more picks. Unless the have a shot at Raji @ 12.
If I’m wrong, its because they might draft a WR late to help fill the void Marshall will leave for the first 4 to 8 games.
The main thing I see in common with these guys is age and experience. Most of these guys are around 30 years old. This is a young man’s game, so already being a very young team McD must have intentionally went into FA wanting to add some older players to provide some leadership and experience, which they have lacked especially on D.
Reid may be a productive player right away and for years to come at only 26. Dawkins and Hill are a huge improvement from last years safeties. Still not sure we’ve got a good replacement for Bly yet, but I totally agree with letting him go for obvious reasons. Why did Shanahan let Foxworth go??? Shanahan let a lot of great D players go over the years.
I’m excited about McD being the coach. Not sure about Nolan but I am optimistic that we will improve quickly. I feel if Cutler and McD get things squared, which I am sure they will, McD can help make Cutler an elite QB in this league and bring the Lombardi Trophy back to Denver.
Why do we have so many complainers. Why not bring over players from the Patriots? Isnt that what Shanny did when he came here from San Francisco? I love our pick ups so far. Cant wait till the draft. Thanks Coop…West Coast
coop i dunno bout gloomis rods im a ugly stick guy my self lol
I tend to like everyone that has been signed. I like that McDaniels is not only going after the big names, but filling some voids with good role players instead of superstar ego’s. I do agree we might have paid a little much for Hill. I dont agree with the bitter fan at the top of the blog. Give McDaniels a chance. How many former Cowboys played for Parcells, Sparano and the dolphins last year. Im not implying that the Broncos were as far off as the Dolphins two years ago, but my only point is that every time a coach makes a move he takes players with him. I give McDaniels B/B+ so far only b/c he is an idiot for trying to trade cutler!!
Coop
Nice to hear from you again. Personally I don’t like the Paxton/Leach deal. Basically, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Mike Leach was one of the best LS around. So why bring in another one to replace him, especially given the same amount of experience?
Also, why bring in more RBs? I wonder if McDaniels is even going to give Torain, Hillis, and company a chance. I can see losing Tatum Bell (he was marginal at best) and Pittman (because of his age). Selvin Young and Andre Hall, like Bell, were marginal at best too. Geez, maybe that’s my answer. Not too sure about Arrington and Buchalter, but then again I don’t know very much about them.
As for Simms, he’d be a better backup than Patrick Ramsey any day of the week (never liked Ramsey anyhow), and I’m afraid Darrell Hackney will be a victim of the numbers game.
Brian Dawkins is an obvious addition, and will be a great teacher for Josh Barrett and others, not to mention the need for his obvious leadership abilities.
Whatever the case, I have faith in McDaniels (for now), and believe he’ll do well here in Denver. (Although he’d better patch things up with Cutler.)
One more thing. I’m concerned with the cohesiveness of this team. As Dawkins mentioned, the team needs to gel first. With a new coach, new players, and a new system, it’ll be tough If we see some good (and I mean REALLY good) leadership, it could very well happen. It might take a couple of years, though.

GO BRONCOS
I don’t understand why some people are skeptical about Nolan being DC. He was an absolutely outstanding coordinator for the Ravens before he became the 49ers leading man. Other than maybe Dick LeBeau and Dom Capers, Nolan is the most innovative 3-4 coordinator in the game today. I’m more excited about him than McDaniels personally.
But enough about that. As far as the moves go, I’m not thrilled about the signing of Paxton because Leach was a fantastic LS. I’m also not so sure we needed to sign 3 RB’s. The new regime is making a big deal about Hillis and Torrain not being able to stay healthy, but Hillis has no prior injury history to my knowledge. He should be fine next year. Torrain, well that I can understand. He was hurt often in college as well. Signing Buckhalter brings experience and leadership but he’s probably the most injury prone back in football so we’ll see how he holds up. I like the Gaffney signing. Lining him up with Marshall and Royal will be just like Moss, Welker, and Gaffney in NE. That will be exciting to watch.
As far as the defense goes, Dawkins is an amazing signing for all the obvious reasons. Hill and Goodman have both been quality starters throughout their careers. The defensive signing I’m most excited about is Andra Davis. He fits Nolan’s system perfectly at ILB, as he was in a similar system in Cleveland. I think he’s a very underrated player. He’s tough, smart, and physical and he will provide great gap integrity and terrific tackling allowing DJ to use his athleticism to make all the big plays.
Overall, I like most of the moves. Let’s hope the draft is just as solid!
Goodman – is he really that much better than Bly – I doubt it. Wait till he see’s what it’s like to get EVERY pass thrown his way for a whole game.
Dawkins – An awesome leader but very long in the tooth at 35 – another John Lynch – 2 years & out !!
JJ Arrington – good return man – cannot run 25 times/game – will get hurt.
Buchalter – awesome at times – very , very injury prone – cannot run 25 times/game – great 3rd down threat.
Gaffney – another pats retread & has been, or never-was !!
Hill – good player – how much is left in the tank.
Reid – ????
Simms – Let’s hope Cutler does not go down, ever !!!
Paxton – $1 million bonus for a long snapper ?????? Come on !!
Fields – ????
Davis – Browns fans really do not like him.
Jordan – total pats retread – heck, even the raiders cut him.
In short, we just wasted $39 million !!!! Is our defense that much better ?? I Don’t think so. It just shows what $39 million can buy, not much. We still need a bunch of DL in the draft. Looking at recent DL draftees, I really don’t hope for much. Could there have ever been a bigger bust than Glenn Dorsey ??
We should have signed Haynesworth & Jason Taylor. We had the money.
I predict McD won’t last two years. Go Broncos !!!
ATTENTION BLY LOVERS!!!
Have you noticed how all these corners are being picked up and BLY hasn’t met with a single team???
HE IS GARBAGE! He’ll get nothing more than the veterans minimum.
Stop wondering if the new corner will fill the void left by Bly. Bly was the void!
I LOVE RUBBING THIS IN!
Most of the football smart Bronco fans out there agree with me.
Jack
P.S. This Defense CAN NOT be fixed in one season people. Give these guys a break! It will take 2 or 3 years to fix the D. However, with the talent on offense, we just need a mediocre D to get us to the playoffs.
Dawkins good teacher for Barrett. if he doesnt stay longer than 2 years hes left an impact on the team.
Gaffney did a good job on the Pats and fits this new scheme.
Torain, Buckhaulter, Arrington, Young, and Jordan 2 will be cut after Training Camp.
Hillis will be a FB again
Paxton good but when u have a LS who does good why pay 1 a Mil a year?
Espn said Simms is back to his starting ability
goodman is better than Bly but with Champ on the other side he’ll struggle still
Fields not to smart lol
Reid Good but may be another D Rob
Davis i wanna see. i feel like he may be good.
i agree get taylor. but not haynesworth. should have got Dan Morgan or Bart Scott. I also heard Samari Rolle wants out of Baltamore so pick him up
trade goodman for rolle
Overall, I think we made “Most” of the right moves. I think we are all equally pissed about the Paxton signing, and I still happen to be on the Dre’ Bly Bandwagon. He held his own this season, considering he was thrown at 80% percent of the time without any safety help. (but that’s another story). Can Goodman fill that void? We shall see?
Marshall and Gaffney with Royal and Stokes in a spread sounds pretty good to me. Put HILLIS (and only HIllis) in the backfield and we’ve got magic. It almost makes me cry. I campaigned for Jordan when Oakland released him, but now I think its too late. Arrington can stay. He would make an excellent comp. back for HIllis.
If we draft D, then Nolan will be able to get that squad competitive.
HAYNESWORTH and Taylor…ur kidding right?
And yea, WAY TOO MANY PATS IN BRONCO COUNTRY!!!
The Secondary Pick-ups I give an “A”! Dawkins is a smash-mouth hitter that will terrorize rb’s in run support, qb’s in coverage and saftey blitzes, and recievers across the middle. Dawkins and Hill will insure offenses hear the pitter-patter of “Orange Crush” footsteps anytime the risk coming up or across the middle! with Champ having solid tough players covering his back..he will regain his status as the dominant corner in the league.
Rest of the “D” guys with the exception of A. Davis I don’t know what to think….so a “C+”
The Offensive pick-ups I have mixed feelngs on…Chris Simms can be a solid back-up and starter with the O cast he would have around him.
Buchalter and Arrington are spot duty Backs that are no better than what we have on the roster already…”C” Gaffney? If we need a fourth Reciever fine but he isn’t near the player royal,Marshall or Stokely are so whatever! “C-”
As for the coaches Make no mistake Mike Nolan is the one pulling all the Defensive free-agency stings! He is the one that will make or break this Defense..like what he has done so far “A-”
Then there is the little wannabee coach “Joshie McDannuggets” This whole New England West Attitude is infuriating a large secdtion of the Bronco Faithful…most seriouslly his immature inept handling of the whole “Trade for Cassel” fiasco! What idiot trades a one year wonder…not even a starter since highschool for a Pro-Bowl Mobile tough “Cannon for an arm” Francise QB like Cutler?? Joshie you are a few McNuggets short of a happymeal my friend!! And by the way Cutler is a vocal passionate outspoken player who likes to win…not a quiet noddlearmed girlyboy metro sexual like the on you had in Brady! He fights for his team and for his fans….learn from his example! Grow up Joshie and be for the Broncos not make them all about you! not a good way to make friends in Bronco Country!
Goodman: better and cheaper than Bly(still have some good young cbs)
Dawkins :a steal and the gem of this years Fa
JJ Arrington: take some returns for royal and keep him healthy
Buchalter: prob wont make the team but wort a look, will challage Hillis &Torain for starting Job
Gaffney: we will run alot of 4 wide so good call
Hill :decent call and an improvement
Reid: we will see (maybe)
Simms: will fit in with new game plan well mark my words
Paxton: one of the best and but way 2 much $$
Fields: another we will see player (maybe)
Davis: second best call of fa (solid)
Jordan: not a starter but sold 3rd down guy with gas left in the tank
They are not patriots anymore. They are Denver Broncos!!!
Well Coop, and fellow Broncos fans, I’d have to say I have more than mixed emotions about McDaniels’ moves. Aside from Dawkins, I haven’t heard a whole lot about these guys he picked up for the defense. I mean are they gonna be any better than the existing younger guys they already had in place? For instance, I agree with letting Bly go, but will Goodman or anyone else they pick up be any better? And what’s with all the RBs? I know there were nothing but injuries last year, but every one of last year’s RBs are good. Anthony Alridge had more potential than the left overs he brought in through Free Agency. So, I guess we have like 10 RBs competing for a couple slots? McDaniels maybe the new HC, but he needs to be creating chemistry with the team, and so far it has been bad chemistry. Especially with the whole Cutler incident. As one of his first moves as HC he pisses of the franchise QB by considering a trade for a one year wonder from NE – way to go, man. No wonder he’s bringing in left over Pats players, at this rate the current team won’t want to play for him. I’m hopeful but doubtful of McDaniels and his moves.
Theres a difference between blind faith and enthusiastic optimism peterg. If youve been around since before 76, I would expect you to understand that.
ColoradoCutler broke it down well without complaining. I’d have to mostly agree with him about McDaniels’ FA signings.
y belief is that McDaniels will go BPA on the Defensive side of the ball with every single one of our picks inside of the first 4 rounds. However, McDaniels has been preaching ever since he got here that he wants to win now, so he is bringing in a lot of depth players that won’t break the bank and hinder our chances of re-signing our current crop of players in the future. What people aren’t realising is that 25-28 year old players like James Sanders, Bryant McFadden etc often bust after their 2nd contract with another team, because they lose that spark to perform.
Veteran players Goodman and Hill still have something to prove and know that they don’t have that long left in the league, and thus need to perform to earn their money right now. Another thing is familiarity; look at the players we have signed. Gaffney, Paxton and Jordan were all in NE last year. Hill and Goodman have played against Josh McDaniels twice for 3 years, and if there is one thing we know about McDaniels its that he is a tape freak. He loves this game and is clearly an X and O’s type, similar to his mentor. So, we know that he is familiar with both of these guys. Ronald Fields played for Mike Nolan in SF. So here’s my point – if we are playing the percentages game, these guys will almost certainly help us more than 9+ rookies can in the first year they are drafted, which in turn makes us a better Football team next year.
However at the same time, it doesn’t hinder us going forward because guess what? We still have these Rookies on the roster to learn from the veteran guys, and not be thrown in at the deep end. I understand some of you wanted the younger UFA’s so we can get ‘younger and better’ on Defense, but this isn’t a Madden computer game where young players always get better.
(that should start with My belief*)
The only acquisition that really raises an eyebrow from me is Paxton…….not sure why we needed to dump Leech (very solid long snapper) just to bring in some ex-Patty. Any ideas on that one?
The basic goal that envolved the removing of coach Shanahan was to bring about change for the betterment of the team. Obviously all fans had their favorite players that they wanted to see remain Broncos, and everyone had players they hoped to never see wearing a Bronco uniform ever again. While I would have personally rather seen a few more free agents on the defensive side of the ball, it seems to be a sensible start to address various needs at key positions. The Mike Leach deal seems to be on of the most confusing deals ( other than the mind numbing Cutler deal) to fully understand. While I am sure that Paxton is very good I have a very hard time getting rid a great player for someone with the same apparent skill level for more money no matter what team he came from! Does anyone have any numbers on how much cap space is available after these signings, it would be interesting to see if we have more room available other than draft money. It is real hard to put a real picture together of these free agent pickups till we see what the plan for defense really is. Given Nolan’s background for defense it makes you feel that they can change the downward spiral of poor defense for the Broncos time will tell! A team that plays together and trusts each other to do their collective job’s is better than one or two big money players almost every time. The Broncos need the best team of players on both sides not the most talented team to win.
I think to look at the whole picture we all can agree that we need to see how the draft goes first. That being said as a broncos fan I am excited with the moves we made cause it shows we have an organization that knows we are a mediocre def. from being a contender. Depending on how quickly we can gel this team with that off. might be two years from a deep playoff run, and hopefully playoffs for this year. Besides trying to get rid of cutler which was the dumbest thing I ever heard of, we have to give McD a chance.
Like it…
JJ Arrington (returner and depth in RB)
Gaffney (Marshall’s off-the-field life and depth in WR)
Goodman (fill Bly’s space and hopefully improove it)
Dawkins (leadership, fill lack of capacity at the position, teach Barret)
Hill (hopefully a good pair with Dawkins)
Not sure…
Reid (part of a fast DL in Indy, but don’t know him)
Fields and Davis (maybe a surprise with the new Def scheme)
Don’t like it…
Buchalter (injury prone)
Jordan (even NE didn’t use it, so…?)
With Simms I don’t know. I’m not his fan and maybe many would kill me for this, but I think Jeff Garcia would have been a better backup choice for his different play style. Anyway, Simms’ way better than Ramsey.
Hate it…
Paxton (no comments)
This team is a car going at certain speed to a certain direction. It needs time to fully stop going that way, turn and gain speed again in the new direction. I don’t like many of McDanny’s doings until now (specially the “trading Cuttler” topic), but nobody knows (not even in NE) how he’s as headcoach, cause he’s never been one. So, let’s give him a chance to prove his doings. If we make it to the playoffs 09, then he was right. If not… well, as with Paxton, no comments.
Go Broncos!
Am i the only one that is a bit worried about what may happen to some of our star players on O? Like Tony, Brandon ((Yes marshall)) and stoke….Even Hillis? Anf for Bly..I kinda agree it was his time to go..KIND OF! I know this is old news but come on man…Like some one posted above he was thrown at 80% of the time usualy with out safty help..And with no pass rush thats tough cookies. However i think the new talent will help..I always liked jack though
but i dont think well see him playing often…
The FA pickups that we have made so far our ok but really don’t like most of them because most of the pickups are from the paytriots and chris sims really sucks.
I think that we really could have done a better job at getting free agents but at least we did something by picking up new players that will hopefully do the job that our former safeties, cornerback, and to fill in for the injured RB’s was what we needed.
Hey everybody, It’s only FA time right now. You bring in the best fit you think will get you the wins. We will have approx 80 players at training camp fighting for spots, so some of these are just competition signings to see who is the best. We loose their contracts if cut before the season starts. Cut McD some slack. I like the signings. I still believe all teams shop all players this time of year, or at least listen to proposals on them.
The one thing I don’t undertsand is the Paxton signing, guess he just wants to ensure there is never a bad snap, (not that there ever was with Leach)and if there is he brought his guy in.
And the Gaffney deal was great, we need a third/fourth good receiver and he will play his role, as in New England, after all Coach McD said everyone will have a destictive role, or did most people forget that press conf already. same with JJ, he will be a return/ 3rd down back.
GO BRONCOS!!!
Oh and cant really grade Bly, as the scheme was always to play off the receivers and this new scheme I think we will be hitting the receivers at the line, I hope. Good luck to Goodman playign opposite the Champ.
Jack,
It will not take 2-3 yrs to fix the D.. Well maybe the way they’re doing it!!
..But it could be fixed in 1 yr
Our biggest problem on D was that our D coordinators SUCKED and couldn’t playcall if thier life depended on it!! R u kidding me,..the last guy (sloik or what ever the heck is name was) was the absolute worst. The guy never even blitzed. We’ve changed coordinators 3 times in 4 yrs..how the hell are guys supposed to gel and be productive when there’s so much inconsistency?? I’m really hoping Nolen is the man
and I’ll keep saying this…Since we didn’t get any D Lineman in FA..i consider it a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!! ..Well only wanna-be linemen, thats who we pick up?? no proven starters to get excited about. All we need on d is PRESSURE and some better leadership on field (so B Dawkins was an excellent move to make up for lynch and Al Wilson). We had a chance to grab one or two “Proven” D lineman in FA and didn’t!! Why, i dont know?? The draft…and rely on someone not proven yet in nfl. Stupid imo
..and what the heck do we need 3 RB’s for?? ..we’re not going to lose 6 again..that was a fluke or more like a curse. Shannahan built us a top 5 offense…WE NEED DEFENSE.
I’m surprised more people don’t think Andra Davis was an outstanding pickup like I do. Other than Sean Jones and McGinnest, he’s been the only bright spot of the Browns D the last few years. Not to mention he was one of their captains, so he brings leadership as well. He fits the 3-4 perfectly and will be a tremendous mentor for DJ, Larsen, and the rest of the linebackers. Mark my words. The Davis signing will prove just as beneficial to this team as the Dawkins signing.
You can sign superman and it won’t mean squat unless he can produce on the field.
Keep signin’ ‘em up. Somebody is bound to be good. Too many people put too much stock into past performances, just because he was good somewhere else doesn’t mean he’ll be good here.
That goes for our new head coach also.
Hasn’t won Denver a Super Bowl yet and he’s already been anointed as a savior.
generalsterlingprice,
I understand what you’re saying, but of course people place stock in past performances. What else do we have to base our opinions on? I don’t have a crystal ball.
The only logical idea with bringing in Paxton and dumping Leech is that Paxton is a backup OL where Leech is a TE. That is the only logic to this trade. Still, $1M bonus is a lot of money.
ok, here it is again.
we signed alot of r/b b/c we only had 2 rookies and 2 second year players after the cuts were all said and done. we needed some swagger (spelling) brought in.
now, for all of you that think we are N E WEST, he brought in 3 players. Gaffney, will be a big help this year. Jordan, will play his part, even if it is on S/T. Paxton, he is a o-lineman. lichtensteiger was back up for LG RG AND CENTER.
Mac is doing what he has to do. and if it don’t work they will be F/A again. the comp in summercamp is looking tight.
Simms, any thing with a green dot on the back of his helmet is better than ramsey. but i do like hackney.
HEY Coop,
Let’s let By-gones be By-Gones,
…sorry ‘buddy’ but I gotta Blow Up your page with my retort,
WT%^$let me come down off my high horses now..
XANDERS and Mr. PAT,
Sirs,
I hate to sound like the ‘little girl’ on Remember The Titans but…
This isn’t the time to “nit pick through the $CRUB$” …IT’$ TIME TO ANTE UP THE MONEY AND GET YOUR $UBERBOWL HANDED TO YOU ON A $ILVER PLATTER THI$ YEAR!!! ~Take it now or: Hold Your Peace~!!!
other than Dawkins #1, Goodman#2, and Davis#3, and Hill#4, the rest of our signings are mediocre and sub-Par. That’s 4 out of what 10…C’mon, man!!
CODY, BERRY, COLVIN, R. WILLIAMS & A. BOLDIN(WR), R. WILLIAMS (SS), TAYLOR etc.,
We appreciate trying to get us good Moldable “role player’s” like L. Jordan but we need..1)FIRE and INTENSITY in attitude, 2)Solid Run stopping Tacklers, and 3) Non-Big-Play-giving-up Defenders. .. so We can get Back to Pig-Skinned Providence with a Stout Defense and UNSTOPPABLE EXPLOSIVE OFFENSE!!
Bowlen you Owe it to Us, And Yourself, after all you said and I quote, ” I WANNA WIN A SUPERBOWL”
– PAT BOWLEN
THEN BY ALL MEANS, ANTE UP SOME OF THOSE DEEP POCKETS OF YOURS…. AND LIVE UP TO YOUR WORDS, THIS YEAR…..SIR!
The Players are there in Free Agency this year, and unlike any Free Agent year that any of us have ever seen in the History of The NFL Free Agency!!!!!!!!!!
Ask Monondo, He’ll get the facts on that one, he’s a statistical Guru!
GET THEM and SELL THEM on your “Win Now and TAKE THE SUPERBOWL with our Re-Made Free-Agent ProBowler Squad of Big Names” speech!!
( heck you might even get M Harrison to sign for $1M just To Get a Ring This Year…like Deion Sanders did when he joined the 49′rs.)
I Conclude, that’s the HERE AND NOW of the Matter, not the past super bowl babbles, or the future Cutler/Elway Heir Apparent Saga
Can you BE SMART(er) With (y)OUR MONEY ?
It’s funny, all my child-hood, I had this little saying that now I believe really is true: The “Filthier RICH” people get, The DUMBER they Seem to Get for Men,
and the “Uglier (with make-up and {fake} plastic surgery) Filthy Rich Women become” -just an observance!
God don’t like Ugly…..stop making Our team out to be one..WE ARE READY NOW….Question is are You Ready to Take What is Rightfully Yours, so we can Fulfill the Destiny that is Rightfully Ours!!!
guys Paxton is a backup LB. At least that’s what it says on NFL.com. He’s listed as a LB. Plus he’s only 6-2, 260 which isn’t exactly OL size. Which again begs the question, why is he a better option than Leach?
Coop,
Do we know how much Mike is asking to come back???? This is a bleak looking administration. No leadership. Pat needs to apologize to Shanahan for telling him to fire Dre Bly. Mike would have done that without being TOLD.
not including draft picks heres my Depth Chart for next year
QB Jay, Simms
RB Torain, Jordan, JJ
FB Hillis, Larsen
WR Marshall, Eddie, Stoke, Gaffney, Chad
TE Ghram, Tony,
Same O line as last year
DT Thomas, Powell, Fields
LE Peterson, Crowder
RE Dr. Doom, Reid
LOLB Boss, Haygan
MLB DJ, Davis, Larsen
ROLB Woodyard, Moss
CB Champ, Goodman, Bell, Williams
FS Dawkins, Hill
SS Barrett, Hill
K Prater
P Kern
PR/KR JJ, Eddie (to keep Eddie from injury)
Practice Squad
QB Hackney
DT Clemons
I like Hillis at RB but dont see it happening with the signing of Jordan so i hope Torain wins the spot 100%
Paxton was signed as our LS because in addition to being an excellent LS (Leach was very good) he is a backup Guard. In 08 Shanny’s backup LG, RG and C was Cory Lichtensteiger (sp?). Nuff said??
i dont know why all of u r gettin ur panties in a bunch with these signing. SOME OF U DONT EVEN KNOW THESE GUYS AND UR DISSIN THEM. like the DT’s, maybe they r a hidden gem who never got a chance. And yea maybe we went with age in FA buy i feel its vital for a young team to have veteran leadership. In the draft we will get some more young guys to fill the voids. WE have a TON of draft picks this year. so lets take a breath and just wait this out. Our D cant get any worse!!! and i feel we can b in teh better half of the league in D because last year it felt like our team had no heart. that wont happen this year at all!!!!!!
Paxon signing didn’t seem logical until reviewing accomplishments;
1. Played in 4SB’s
2. 3SB rings
3. All Pro
4. Experience in Playoff games 9
5. OL / LBer Back-up
Leach
1. 0-SB’s
2. 0 SB rings
3. 0-All Pro
4. 1-playoff game
5. T.E. back up 0-catches in 9-years
Bottom line Paxton has more Rings and playoff game experience and is a back up at two positions. Intangleable in mentor on the line & lber positions. I’m sure he’s part of McD mentorship program. So far I like the signings based on the amount of salary cap Broncos had to spend.
I hope we keep Tony S.
Personally, the free agent pick ups look exactly like the type of players Josh’s daddy B. Beliprick would pick up. Out of all the teams in the NFL, I like the Patriots the least. I don’t like cheaters and I don’t like their style of play. I will really be pissed if P. Hillis doesn’t get a chance at the RB position because he was a FB. All the free agent RB pickups get me worried about that, not to mention the comment about people will not be playing out of position. I haven’t seen anything that scary in the backfield in a long time in any uniform. , He has amazing talent , quick and nimble for a big man with extreme power. A giant sized T.D.. Our ticket to a superbowl in my opinion.
Like everyone els, what’s the deal with padding the pockets of Paxton when we had M. Leach? That his brother in law or something?
I really think Josh Barrett can blossom to his full potential with a mentor like Brian Dawkins. I am excited to see what kind of player he becomes!!!
i like the linebacker group of
Woodyard, DJ Williams, Andre Davis, Boss Bailey
talk about a REALLY FAST linebacking corp, and all are solid tackles
build up the line in front of them through the draft and the defense is instantly a better run defense.
Bailey, Dawkins, Hill, Goodman…. 2 HOF players + 2 proven players from miami…. im starting to like this defense a LOT!!!
I’m trying to figure out what everybody thinks they see in R.Williams (SS)
He couldn’t cover me let alone a TE or RB and he can’t tackle either in fact
he can’t even hit anymore. the only thing he could still do would be end of
bench and guard of water jug.
