Never Forgiving NFL

December 12th, 2010 - 9:08pm by mark_cooper

To finish up last week’s post business, I did play with Dennison here but he was a linebacker at the time and we played against each other. As a coach, I agree with many of you about his credentials. He’s done a great job everywhere he’s gone, and he was trained by Alex Gibbs.

I also agree with the risk reward aspect of coaching your way through the ranks. I chose real estate to control my own destiny like many of you chose your line of work. I fell in love with Denver after playing here and wanted to stay in the area to raise kids and the school system here is as good if not better than most places around the country.

Could I coach? Absolutlely, no questions asked. Fundamental are where you start at all levels and you probably read my offensive line 101 at the beginning of the season. It’s about creating good habits.

Now to the Game.

Arizona Cardinals? Tough day, but not much different than other games this year where we turned the ball over and we’ve talked about it all year. Coaches coach, players play and we still need all the same things we needed last week and earlier in the season — consistency, ball handling, solid defense and errorless offense.

It will take two or three years to rebuild what we have, and in this immediate gratification society we live in, we will have to be patient. I know how tough that will be. I mentioned it in the past that a coach needs about four years.

My hats off to Mr. Bowlen and the organization for making a tough decision and being ready to move forward. I await the next step like the rest of you…anxiously…BUT we will have to be patient with next coach no matter who he is.

Running Game: I like the improvement and would like to see more of it too. Kyle’s had a couple of tough outings so I’m sure all we’ll hear is Tebow for the rest of the week because that sells newspapers, but let’s see how the season plays out. This coming offseason will be red hot.

As you can see I didn’t have much to say about the game and stats. It’s one of those games when it’s over you just want to put it behind you as a player and a fan and move to the next week with as little frustration as possible — and patience.

What about you??

It’s just human nature, Orton and Lloyd where the only two players on McD’s team who had pro bowl type numbers on O, now that’s most likely gone for both of them.

  2. Orange_Crusher says:

Some of these players might prefer to leave with Ronald McDonald. Gaffney, Lloyd, Orton, Baloney, Paxton… idk?

  3. baylinorcrush says:

That is if McD decides to give up on a 3 plus mil paid vacation next year.

  4. Orange_Crusher says:

As wishy washey as he was, he did show alegence to a select few players.

  5. baylinorcrush says:

If I were him I would wait it out the two years that he will paid for so that things about him can cool off and he can start anew in better conditions, but McD is way to thick to even get the meaning of all that so he will probably jump into the first opportunity.

  6. milehighmagic88 says:

Here’s a thought: McD returns to New England and regains his role as OC. Belichick welcomes him with open arms and says, “Good work my son. Great job destroying the Bronco Way with the Patriot Way.”

  7. rayjr26 says:

ya bay, im betting he jumps at the first OC job that is thrown at him. he is prob still sure of how right he was with everything that he did in denver. most likely its the fans fault he got fired… not his! roflmfao

  8. baylinorcrush says:

McD can kiss my rear end and do whatever he wishes. I got to learn to never type that stupid moniker of his anymore.

  9. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Im with 88. Im a avid believe that he was sent here to destroy this franchise because we messed up another superbowl run back in 2005. Belichek is an evil genius…which makes mcdaniels Igor LMAO

  10. 1nOnlyTRB says:

the moniker wasnt stupid. twas great…the filtration system on the other hand….Ill reserve my words for how I feel about it lol

  11. milehighmagic88 says:

Yeah TRB, it’s probably just a crazy conspiracy theory, but I wouldn’t put it past them. Genius Bill has done things just as crazy.

  12. baylinorcrush says:

There is one that will pass moderation, McDonkey, never really understood the true meaning of being a Bronco, hahaha.

  13. baylinorcrush says:

You guys are starting to sound like Greatness 007 about conspiracy theories….

  14. milehighmagic88 says:

Lol I know. I’m not saying that’s what happened because it does sound kinda crazy I admit… But can you say for sure that they wouldn’t do something like that? I can’t. So I guess we’ll never know.

  15. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Cuz no matter how hard a donkey trys…it can never be a horse…let alone, A BRONCO.

LOL i think greatness is on a level of his own but seriously McD could right a book on how to level a franchise in 1 3/4 years lol He came through like a wrecking ball … like a man on a mission … Belicheks mission LOL

  16. 1nOnlyTRB says:

    write*

  17. milehighmagic88 says:

Crennel and Mangini both sent to Cleveland one right after the other to destroy the franchise that fired Evil Bill? Conspiracy theories abound! Haha.

  18. milehighmagic88 says:

Favre is officially inactive tonight. I never thought I would see the day.

  19. strandoftds says:

Trade Quinn, Maroney, and Buck and see what kind of draft picks you can pick up. Dead space and money.

  20. strandoftds says:

And if you can`t trade them, then we`re just gonna have to CUT THE TIES.

  21. rayjr26 says:

you can add graham, gaffney, and coates to that list strand.

  22. strandoftds says:

Not Graham in my book. Just saying.

  23. BeastFromEast92 says:

Graham is a great blocking TE,we just need a pass catching TE.

  24. milehighmagic88 says:

Graham is the best blocking TE in the league. He just needs a good receiving TE to complement him. I loved the 1-2 punch he and Scheffler used to be. I hope we draft another receiving TE in round 3 or 4 and keep Graham around to help out our running game.

  25. BeastFromEast92 says:

Graham will fit right in if we go back to zoneblocking.

  26. milehighmagic88 says:

Beat me to it BFE, I’m too long winded. Lol

  27. BeastFromEast92 says:

Luke Stocker TE Tennessee will go in 3rd-4th round, great hands.6’6.

  28. BeastFromEast92 says:

    LMAO.

  29. BeastFromEast92 says:

I think we need to go Defense first 3 rounds=4 picks.

  30. milehighmagic88 says:

    Yeah, Stocker is solid player.

I also like Lance Kendricks from Wisconsin. He’s a beast in the red zone and a pretty good blocker. Although I’ve heard he’s inconsistent so I don’t know…

  31. PJBroncofanFunk says:

    Thanks Mark,

Always good to read from ya. I can’t believe the firing still… So I still can’t quite say my “hat’s off” to ‘em… Because I’m with you in the fact that a new coach should be allowed roughly four years…. But I won’t get back into that any further. Thing I’m hopeful for is that We see some consistency from this point on. On the field, and in the staff room.

One thing is, as a fan – I try to enjoy what there is to enjoy of every game. There is nothing I enjoy about losing, but I count on what there is to enjoy, and don’t take what there is, for granted. Who ever takes the field for the Broncos, I will be rooting for those particular players, more than any other at that point in time. Be they Orton or Tebow. But I would like to see some Tebow time regardless.

  32. strandoftds says:

Graham was used quite a bit on catching the ball when Shanny was our HC. The reason he is having a hard time catching the ball these last two years is because Daniel is not being utilized in the passing game hardly. Rarely is a better term. It`s not an excuse, it`s the truth. He sure caught the ball for Shanny and in wide open spaces too.

  33. BeastFromEast92 says:

It don’t really matter which TE we draft as long as we get one that can catch the ball,Graham is a great blocker, but he couldn’t catch a cold in Winter.

  34. BeastFromEast92 says:

True strandoftds,I guess Graham is a little rusty.lol.

  35. milehighmagic88 says:

Since we’re pretty much guaranteed a top 5 pick, I’m dying for us to draft Fairley from Auburn. I swear if we draft another QB or other skill position player too early I’m gonna flip out.

  36. BeastFromEast92 says:

It was a lot harder for Graham to get open in McDs system, plus Orton locks in on one WR,Lloyd.

  37. BeastFromEast92 says:

mhm88,I agree 100% Fairley DT Auburn is a freaking Beast,I want him too.

  38. strandoftds says:

Thats how I see him. There where plays set up speciffically for Daniel in Shanny`s play book. He kind of reminds me a little bit of Duane Carswell. Kind of.

  39. milehighmagic88 says:

Does anyone remember the Jets game in 08? Graham and Scheffler were both destroying the Jets D. They had no answer for our TEs. I’d like to see a combination like that again.

  40. BeastFromEast92 says:

He sure would make a difference in the middle of our Dline!
I hope we go back to a 4-3 with Bannon and Fairley in the middle.

  41. milehighmagic88 says:

strandoftds, I can definitely see the Carswell comparison. Same number and everything!

  42. BeastFromEast92 says:

I remember Carswell,do you remember Clarence Kay?

  43. strandoftds says:

Kyle Rudolph. If I had a choice. All around TE.

  44. milehighmagic88 says:

Yeah BFE, Fairley and Bannan would be a nasty combo. With Dumervil at right end and either Ayers or someone else at left end, it could be a pretty decent D-Line somewhat quickly.

  45. strandoftds says:

Ya, Kay was a huge TE. WOW!

  46. BeastFromEast92 says:

Rudolph is great but we would have to use a 2nd round pick to get him,he’s probably worth it tho! we have two 2nd round picks.

  47. BeastFromEast92 says:

Yeah Doom and Ayers both played DE in college,so they could just switch right back no problem, just saying.

  48. milehighmagic88 says:

Kyle Rudolph is excellent. But he’ll probably be drafted in round 1 or 2. I just think we should use every pick in those rounds on defense, but I agree, Rudolph would be very hard to pass up.

  49. milehighmagic88 says:

Sorry, like usual I’m saying everything right after it’s just been said. lol

  50. strandoftds says:

My first choice would be a NT. And if you guys say he`s a beast then I`ll take your word for it. Peterson CB, Fairly or the best DE. Not sure yet on DE.
