We saw “Mile High Magic” yesterday, like we all remember.
Fumble? What fumble? Interception … sure it was!!
) Ha!! Love it!
Home field advantage!!
52 yard field goal, 18 catches by Brandon (2nd most in the NFL), Royal catches a 4th and 4 TD to tie the game and a 2-Point conversion with seconds left in a “do or die” situation to win the game. Clutch baby, clutch!!
I know you’re smiling — I am!!!!!
And you missed my question last week of naming the dynamic duo. HINT … you have to go back and read my question on Sept 12th. My answer is Beauty and the Beast!! Now you have to go figure it out and I want to know the names you all come up with. This should be interesting.
486 yards of offense! Wow, but the Bolts threw up 456 yards of total offense against us, so we really have some work to do or it could be a tennis match every week. The kick-off return hurt too, hmmmm. Take away the 3rd quarter and the defense played tough, so we’re getting there. It’s early, like everyone will say, and I’m hopeful as this is turning into a really exciting group to watch.
P.S. Hey Coach, Love that call for “2″ … gutsy!!! With confidence — love it!!!!
COOP
) enjoy the week!!
I look forward to hearing your names…

If the Broncos want to go late into the playoffs they need to shore up their defense but for now they can definitely ride the Marshall/Cutler hookup. I think that the Saints will be a good test for the Broncos because you can’t really tell how good the broncos are because so many calls went their way.
WHAT A GAME. THE O-LINE PLAYED GREAT, I DRAFTED CUTLER AND MARSHALL IN MY FANTASY LEAUGE AND IM LOVIN IT, EVERYONE WAS LAUGHING DURING THE DRAFT BUT WELL SEE WHO LAUGHS LAST.
Defense aside, the special teams coverage is suspect at best. I loved the win but every time we kick off (and with that offense, it will be often this year) I am nervous. To go deep into the playoffs something has to be done about our kick coverage.
That is only too obvious… Cutler to Marshall baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!
I’ve got so much to say about that game I have absolutely no clue on where to begin, but I won’t make this too terribly long. That first half, for starters, was what I’ve been expecting from these Broncos on offense & defense. Just put those Chargers in their lonely 0-2 spot and be done with it. And there’s nothing anyone could do, but that Halftime break I really do believe took away some of our game… we were on fire in the first half and it’s like when the team came back out they left the whole defense in the locker room till those last 24 seconds or whatever it was. I seriously thought in the 3rd that the game was over. So that drastically needs to change, I don’t care what it is they do just something that improves our consistency.
Now to the topic I love the most Cutler to Marshall – what a BRILLIANT concept!!!!!!!!!!! I don’t need to say anymore other than I hope in a game sometime this year Marshall gets those 20 or more catches in one game so he can own that record and put TO in 2nd place. I don’t like that guy, he reminds me of another egotistical player in this league – Crybaby Rivers. Don’t even get me started on that piece of work.
I knew when Marshall was brought back that Royal wouldn’t get the chance he got against Oakland. I think they’re both incredible players and they’re two of the best at their positions but now that Marshall is back I really don’t know how much good light will be shed on Royal from now on. I hope he gets some great opportunities and takes complete advantage of them without pushing Marshall aside. I love what both of them can do.
And I’m sure like everyone else here in Broncos Country I didn’t see a fumble at all anywhere on our side
I think though every single one of us should be thanking that side judge who blew that whistle when he did or it would have been a fumble and that game for us would have been over. We owe it to that guy BIG time!!!!!!!!! He thought what he saw was an incomplete so he blew the whistle and that is what really saved our butts. And after that alot of THANKS goes to the great Coach Shanahan for making one gutsy and brilliant call to go for those 2 extra points. I don’t think any of us really wanted to go through an Over time situation – that could have been the game ender as well – NOT in our favor. I’m just glad that’s over and we don’t have to face them again till our very last game. That ought to be a trip – Oy Vey!!!!!!!!!
Alot of those calls did go our way especially at the end and the very beginning so I know we can do better and hopefully they keep making major improvements as each week comes and goes. Like I’ve said before though, the Chiefs may stink as a team, they lost to the Raiders HA HA HA, playing at Arrowhead is never easy and it won’t get any easier. They are just as much of a rival to us as the Chargers & Raiders. We definitely need to be prepared for them and the Saints also. WHEW… I wore myself out.
39-38 > Isn’t that a smack in the face to Rivers!!!!!!!! HA HA HA
GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The game was so great i loved it. Offence was great, Cutler was the gun slinger we come to love and Marshall is the man. Our defence needs little help. Our special teams needs help too. but the guys played hard. I know its not the way we wanted to win but a win is a win and i’ll take it.
hey Coop,
i missed ur Sept 12 question couldnt find it…who are u refering to? Royal being the “Beauty” with the finesse routes and spectacular catches and Marshall being the “Beast” needs safety help and even a linebacker to take him down, jst unstoppable??if thats what you’re referin to then I like it…
oh man,,that was an incredible game…but i gatta say,,the second half nearly broke my heart…i thought we’d lost it…….special teams need a lot and i say it with emphasis..A LOT…of work……….Reggie wont make it easy nxt week now that they know our teams weekness….
please put in Jack Williams…let him play nickel for a while….with him developing there, pretty soon we wont need to have Champ cover the elite TEs like Gates..have Champ cover their best WR…they kept targeting Paymah against CHambers…..we’ll jst have Williams cover elite TEs with safety help,,,though he’s a bit short but his athleticicism certainly makes up for it….
Coop –
“Mile High Magic?” Hardly. Think you and everyone else here would be singing a different tune had the instant replay and inadvertent whistle issues gone in San Diego’s favor.
Nothing more than dumb luck. Let’s not make it part of some concept of “magic.” Let’s not laugh and gloat.
Two-point call was brilliant. Offense was great. But the game was clearly and wrongly taken away from San Diego.
Karma can be a bitch if it works against you. The more we gloat and cluck about “Mile High Magic” and so forth, the more likely it is that someday we’ll feel the sting of a game unfairly taken away.
i agree, it also kinda sickens me on how the defense can give up such a lead, we were completely in control, blowing the chargers out, and they let them come back, with some help from special teams! this cannot happen, they need to play every quarter hard, never give up! but wow what a finish, luckily the nyj game ended early and i got to see the end of the broncos game (one disadvantage of being a broncos fan in pa, all you here about is the eagles
.) love the call for two, i wish rivers gets his ass kicked the next time we play them! i hate that guy!
That was one of the most fun games I have ever watched in my life! I was worn out by the end of the game, it was a blast! Hope the neighbors didn’t get too offended with all my hollerin”!
Personally, I never saw the conclusive evidence in any of the replays that would have taken the interception away from Champ.
True, the wrong call happened at the end of the game, Cutler fumbled. Wrong calls are made in every game and most coaches in the NFL don’t ever use that as an excuse for losing a game. Games aren’t won or lost only on one play. Norv Turner sent the wrong message to his players by whining about the call and I hope they suffer for it, I don’t like the Chargers. They cry every time the lose. I never saw anyone whine in public like L.T. did last year when they weren’t winning.
The Charger’s picked up the pace in the second half and the Broncos came out flat. Hope we don’t make that mistake again. The guys were in slow motion on defense , seldom in position before the snap like they ran out of gas. O-line was getting run over. Hope they realize that any good self respecting team that gets beat that bad in the first half is coming after them the second half, gotta step it up !
Great call by Shanny going for 2 points. The defense was getting beat the second half and the offense was playing well. Why let a flip of the coin decide your fate? Take it into your own hands! I remember a few times the last couple of years the team battled back to tie the game up , only to lose basically buy the flip of the coin. Shanny said it was a gut call but you can bet his gut is connected to his brain!
What was with the ball anyhow??? You don’t usually see Cutler losing the ball like he did on Sunday. Must have been slicker than snot!
Great game for the team, get effort and you have to love the never say die attitude this squad had developed. Great execution the clutch. Got a win and learned a few lessons too. Time to get ready for the Saints! Go Broncos!
You guys know there is only one hand that beats a royal flush , right? That’s a ROYAL MARSHALL!
I agree with broncos20, I’d like to see J. Williams get a chance to show his stuff. Paymah is a good baller, but he got beat bad on numerous occasions. Williams has speeed and more importantly , great instints!
Royal & Marshall = Beauty & The Beast
I love it! I hope that nickname sticks. Nice one COOP!
It works so well, Royal is Beauty(great routes, smooth hands, beautiful moves with the ball) and Marshall is The Beast(he is a Man Beast, enough said)
Let’s just hope the defense plays better. We are 2-0 as of now and are in complete control in the division. It would be vindicating to smack the Saints Sunday particularly with our defense having a field day. Nevertheless, New Orleans is an explosive offensive unit so it could be another shootout. With all of that said, Coop, I love how the offense looks and here’s something else. Of all the times that San Diego drove into the red zone, they only had one touchdown, it was Chambers’ “catch” that Paymah knocked out before he made a “football move.” Come on defense, make some plays and we’ll be elite!
I like thunder and lightning
COOP DID YOU EVER HAVE A CROWN & COKE?
CROWN “ROYAL” AND A CLASSIC “MARSHALL”
—-THEIR GREAT IF THEY’RE ALONE OR TOGETHER!!!!
p.s. i should be a marketing major
Also,
I agree J. Williams needs to play. I just put the boys name across my back that replaced my portis, then bell, then smith, now Williams jersey.
Not to mention that Carl needs a head check.
GO GET EM BOYS!
It’s been a decade, but the new stadium is finally starting to take on the huge task of replacing the aura of the old Mile High. It helps when you have a guy like Cutler slingin’ the ball around in the 4th quarter like the Elway of old.
It was a wonderful win. Hats off to all the players. My concern rest with the play calling close to the goal line. Second and three from the four. Passed, Intercepted. Second and one on the one for a TD. Passed, FUMBLED. Then with the grace of the Lord, we got a great call, a bad one, but to our advantage. Point is we had made short yardage all day long for first downs and a TD. Why pass on the one yard line and the three yard line. Doesn’t make sense to me. The team played great, did it all. Put it in from the 10 for a TD. Then!, our gutsie coach called for a two pointer. Wow!! And our superior QB and WR got it done Magnificent!!!!
Hey ,Coop how about shake & bake or flash & clash
How about Broom and Duster? imready, I concure, Your saying the exact same thing Iwanna say. Great, I don’t need to type al that stuff, you already did. So all I have left is
GO BRONCOS!!! Lets Get another.
Hey Coop, that was a blast to watch. I knew Shannahan was going for two as soon as I saw Royal catch the 4th down TD. I also told my brother that he would run the same play. Man I wish I was in vegas Sun Night!
I wanted to comment about one earlier comment also, “I DRAFTED CUTLER AND MARSHALL IN MY FANTASY LEAUGE AND IM LOVIN IT, EVERYONE WAS LAUGHING DURING THE DRAFT BUT WELL SEE WHO LAUGHS LAST.”
Well I drafted cutler and Romo and T. owens ans was set to take Marshall when He got grabbed.
SO I drafted Royal instead and The league was calling me all kinds of brain dead. So when I drafted A gates and traded him a week and a half ago for Scheffler, they thought I was in cahoots with another owner trying to pad his team. I told them
Blown calls are part of the game!!!!
Somebody call San Diego and send them a WHAAAAAAAAMBULANCE!!!
Now with that taken care of………
I hope the defense and special teams were running extra laps this week. It comes down to 1 simple fundamental that wasn’t getting done, WRAP YOUR MAN UP!!!! Take your dominate hand and clasp it over your other wrist around your opponets waist or legs and TAKE THE MAN DOWN!!!!
And I wouldn’t mind seeing the Seconday play a yard or two closer to their man. Offensive pass interfearance is okay with me.
Thundersrevenge…..Mountain Man 60 needs the Whaaaaaaaaambulance as I’ve been on the other side of those calls and it’s nice when you’re not. No gloating…….nah….. I’m gloating, I’m allowed, I’m the blogger. What Fumble??
)
All you fantasy nuts that have Cutler and Marshall, I can see how happy you are and O.K. I win with the name game BEAUTY & THE BEAST!! Hey Broncfalls, don’t quit your day job for that marketing position, you never mix anything with Crown.
) good try though, love the effort.
hboobyt, thunder and lightning?? I like that too!!
Aints are next?? Big test for the Defense. Oh one more thought. I was talking to a buddy in Puerto Rico who is a die-hard Bolts fan and he reminded me of how the Bolts looked like the Bolts of the Dan Fouts era. Throw for 350 plus yards weekly and lose. His words. We laughed but I think they’re much better today that back in the old days.
Big Week for the D and Special Teams. You all are great, keep it up!!
I’ll Post after the Game as I host my flyfishing charity tournament in Basalt this weekend for Cystic Fibrosis and we raise about $60K for the fight for a cure, next year some of you should attend. It’s a wonderful event for a good cause and it’s helping someone else. You don’t even have to be an accomplished flyfisher-man/woman. I have buddies come out from Florida that only fly fish once a year, here in Gods country!! And they catch fish!!
