K.C. Jinx?

December 5th, 2010 - 4:01pm by mark_cooper

Nope don’t think so. No Jinx. Players play and coaches coach.

Here’s what I saw, and I know this will get some folks lathered up. I saw what I thought was a pretty good game plan. I saw a lot of jawing and finger pointing and hustle and “want to win” attitude. I liked the attitudes, I hope this creates more of a rivalry again…maybe?

What I also saw was bounce passes, guys not lining up on the line of scrimmage (penalty), sack given up and fumble recovery by probably one of the best left tackles in the league. (It happens to the VERY best sometimes). I saw guys on defense get hook-blocked on sweeps, poor coverage, not separating from being blocked, NO pass rush and guys doubled that stopped rushing, DB’s that got beat early in the route and more. I saw lineman open/turn their hips to the backfield, and I saw false steps. Dropped passes, throws behind and out of bounds….I can keep going.

So what am I getting at?

Players play, coaches coach. Our guys were in the game till the end with what I’d say was a good game plan and WE didn’t execute as players. You’ve heard the players say, “WE have to play better”. Yes, they do.

Today I didn’t really watch the game, I watched individual battles much like I would watch film as a player against an opposing team or player….and that’s what I saw. Not unlike every other game in the NFL because there’s no such thing as the perfect game by 22 guys and special teams.

Our guys have to play better. We had a chance — throughout the entire game we had PLENTY of chances to get even or ahead and make a play. These things come with playing together more and consistency builds when you know what the guy next to you is doing. Every play is critical when you have a team that is struggling. No one can have a let down.

This Team is a few plays away from playing with anyone in the league when they execute the game plan flawlessly. We’ve seen that. Sure, we could use more guys at a number of positions but that will come with time. Only time will tell, right?

I have the patience. I hope you all will too.

Also, I’m adding the following from late in the week last week that I ran across for folks that don’t want to use their tickets and for those of us that want some.

I found this site that I didn’t know existed until the other day.

You can buy and sell tickets there, so there’s absolutely no reason that folks who don’t want to support the team can’t sell and someone that wants to support the team can go buy, right?? No excuses!! The stadium should be full every week.

GO BRONCOS!!

    Champ was stellar!

  2. milehighmagic88 says:

Yeah, the players have to play. But they also have to feel that they have something to play for. That’s the problem I’ve seen all year. Even early in the season, the players seemed to feel the season was already over. That’s a leadership problem.

  3. milehighmagic88 says:

But yes, Champ was awesome. That’s the best game I’ve seen him play in a while.

And it was the best game I’ve seen Moreno play ever.

  4. samurai713 says:

Moreno kicked some ***. I’m happy for him and his big day, but yet again the team OUR team couldn’t finish.

  5. Warhawk says:

Orton was absolutely horrible all game… and for some stupid reason McD decided to give him the ball when the game was one the line. There’s no excuse for that utter failure in decision making.

The simple fact is we are going nowhere with the McD-Orton combination. Something has to give.

Kudos to Moreno for his efforts. He’s one of the few who have really brought their game during this ugly stretch. Why the didn’t put the ball in his hands when it really mattered is beyond me.

  6. DoomervilRocks92 says:

Very proud of Champ and Moreno for playing all game and not giving up. Shutting out Dwayne Bowe is pretty impressive. So is gaining 161 yards. But other than those two, no one came to play today. Neither did anyone really for KC, but they got a TD early and that’s why they won. Can’t wait for next season, and for the draft so we can get someone on D to rush the QB. The pass rush was pathetic today, and pretty much has been all year.

    LETS GO BRONCOS IN 2011!

  7. since1972 says:

It’s really a shame that the offense couldn’t match the defense’s effort today and take advantage of Moreno’s big day. Someday it will all come together and they will look like the BRONCOS we expect to see every time they take the field

  8. broncosfreak30 says:

Yea, thing that disgusts me is that both times we have made Cassel look like a great quarterback and that is because of our pass rush!! I mean obviously if we have to pressure on the QB he is going to get completions! The secondary cannot cover their guys for over 10 seconds. I mean I could go in and play QB in the NFL if I never got pressured. Whenever the few times you did see Cassel get pressured you saw a different side of him which either threw the ball away or got sacked!!

  9. Crazyhorserider says:

    Cooper,

Your analysis of the performance of our players was very informative. I think that the closeness of the game does show that the game plan was good and the teams neutralised each other.

However whilst players play as far as I am concerned coaches need to do more than just coach. They also have to motivate by their coaching and make the right calls at the right time. In addition the Head Coach has to show leadership and a winning mentality.

McDaniels did not have the courage to bench Orton, who had an awful game, or to go for it on 4th down late in the game.

That sends a bad vibe throughout the team because you know that however well you play the Head Coach is not in it with you and willing to take risks to win the game.

McDaniels has been toxic for this team franchise since the moment he arrived and moving him out cannot happen soon enough as far as I am concerned.

By my calculations Shanny will have been paid $7m in 2009 and $7m in 2010 under his contract, but will have paid back $3.5m in 2010 and will pay back another $3.5m in 2011.

McD’s contract will cost the Broncos $3.5m in 2011 and $3.5m in 2012.

So Head Coach costs are as follows: -

    2009 $10.5m
    2010 $7m
    2011 $0
    2012 $3.5m

That means that the cost of getting rid of McDaniels is only $3.5m.

  10. since1972 says:

I do find it interesting how inspired Dallas and Minnesota are playing since head coaching changes. Just saying

  11. Orange_Crusher says:

Once again, ORTON let us down…

And ULTIMATELY, McDaniels let us down by sticking with him.

The S.S. Minow is sinkiing…. It looks like the Skipper and Gilligan are going down with the ship….

Josh sold the farm to get two other options but still chooses to let Orton define his career…. You gotta be careful what Horse you hook your wagon to is all I’m sayin…

It seemed like we kept getting 3rd down and 8 over and over and then we couldn’t convert, like it was a wierd #8 jynx though…

I would really like to see Brady Quinn play out the rest of this season!!!! Then we can see if he has any tallent.

Save Tebow (the future) for next year/coach/system!!!!

    ILMSDB!

  12. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Ive been wanting McD our of here for a year so no need for me to say fire McD.

Champ was beyond amazing? Why? Simple….THEY LET HIM PLAY MAN AND PRESS. Last time agianst the chiefs we were givign the recievers 10 yards every play. Granted we were ahead but still. Champ is the greatest nuff said.

Always liked Moreno, didnt think the pick was neccesary but I defend him. I think he would be a beast in a zone blocking. He does piss me off because he is not a speed back or a big back … But he is a pretty balanced back. Runs the ball well with great laterall movement and balance. Does well in the passing and screen game (speed would help tho). He is a flat out finese back. Glad he finally eclipsed 150.

Orton had a horrible game. They took Lloyd away and Orton just seemed out of sync. I can’t believe Royal and Decker were under utilized? Doesn’t help when your skipping passes. The sack Clady gave up really hurt. It happens. It’s not like the opportunities weren’t there. And the end result is more of the same. Congrats to Moreno for a career high. No TDs it’s kinda bittersweet. Again Champ played. Pay the man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Tick Tock…..
Tebow time! Sorry Orton. Fire McD

  15. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Orton was horrible. glad u can admit it sndvl. The numbers dont lie. Lloyd was taken away and yet he kept forcing it. Probably more the plays McD called than him chosing to force it but he was forcing it and not just forcing it forcing it inaccuarately. Underthrowing. It was pretty ugly.

  16. BDawkRocks says:

Good thoughts Coop! Kind of wondering why they didn’t use Moreno more during the last few drives. Orton looked abismal today, but not convinced bringing in Tebow was the answer either. There was some positives today, there was some calls that helped out the Chiefs, and some plays that really showed lack of discipline. I will probably be in the minority with this, but there is nothing that can be fixed and made better. Everyone wants McDaniels head but I don’t see that not affecting this team for years, followed by some wanting the next coaches head. Everyone was patient with Shanahan and his lack of performance over the last few years. Josh needs time to make more changes to make this team better. Players got to step up and sometime happens and nothing can be done other than get ready for Arizona. Pay champ the money! Have watched coaching changes in person albiet at lower level athletics, but majority of the time it doesn’t work as well as planned. Careful what you wish for you might get it. If you wish for the change and it gets worse, in my mind you got no right complain next year!

  17. strandoftds says:

Once again no pass rush. We need to go all D players in the draft. I still say we`ll be a top 5 pick over all. Hey Broncosfreak30, whats up bro? Go Orange and blue!!

  18. Yovi21 says:

Well, shanny didn’t go 4-12 or 3-13. I have been waiting for a performance like that from Moreno since we drafted him and Champ since like 2 years ago haha. I’m glad our D played so well, but it was obvious to me that Orton’s lack of decision making and accuracy ended up spoiling our hopes of winning. I don’t know how everyone else feels about the call where the ref blew the play dead as Orton tossed the ball to Moreno, but I thought that call was not only awful but essentially ended the game for us. No use crying over spilt milk, better luck next time. I am waiting for the announcement on Monday “We have decided that from here on out we will have Tebow as our starting quarterback.” don’t disappoint me like you have so many times before!

GO BRONCOS!!! let the Tebow era begin in Denver!!!

  19. archangel77 says:

On a positive note I had a great time blogging with other fans with the live posting feature today. They made the offensive misery bearable but only just.

Coop, thanks for the observations on the teams performance. Any chance you could get hired by the Broncos. It might sound like a joke but your remarks paint a picture that speaks of an attention to detail that is not being paid by the current staff. While I agree that everyone in the organization has their function and as it is done right so the mechanism works. The problem has to be that the players are not being coached in the right way so that they can play. I have no doubt that all of the observations that you made are true and undeniable. I can not believe that others whom have that responsibility on the current Broncos staff are unaware of these same mistakes. Hedging on the fact that I am sure you have seen these mistakes through out the course of the entire season I can only assume that these points are not an area of primary concern to the coaching staff. QED the coaches are advancing generalizations when they should be making maxims of the basics at each and every position. I am aware, at least from a layman’s views, of a number of the points you made and am also aware that a vast majority of them are points of basic instruction at the NFL level. When Shanahan had his Super Bowl runs, the Broncos were about the basics that you just described. I believe that all great teams hold their foundations in these basics. This is how the winning teams in the NFL comeback in games where they find themselves on the wrong side of a loosing score. Being secure in their basics; they execute and wait for the other team to make a mistake which their own fundamentals allow them to capitalize on. This Broncos team simply does not have this trait. When receivers get shut down then the QB does not have the basics to regroup and begin distributing the ball to other players. When a team turns their back on the hand your knife is in you strike as many times as possible. It may be messier and may take more strikes than your rifle but it is ultimately just as lethal. Today that knife was the running game and no matter how may misfires McDaniel’s and Orton had with their collective rifle they kept punching rounds out. An increase in runs and working the short to intermediate routes with the slot and TE’s would have gone a long way to relieving some of these problems. This is where we see the short comings in McDaniel’s basics.

On the other hand our defense came to the fight armed with all manner of weaponry and finally learned to switch up. When we came out of the buy and laid the hammer to the Chiefs I saw a situation where game planning had more to do with the victory then any other factor. The Chiefs had not been playing the pass particularly well for a few games and the Broncos coaching staff made them pay for that. Once the puzzle was solved on the Chiefs side of the ball however, they began scoring points in bunches with out any reaction from us. Today I saw a similar battle but with one important exception. The defense for the Broncos finally reacted to a game plan that was about to overtake them. Wink Martindale should be commended above all for his ability to adjust to what the Chiefs were doing today. Oddly; I think that everyone that heard or saw the game knew when this change took place. When the entire D line looked over at Wink as the Chiefs had just moved back into scoring position as if to say “Are you really going to let this happen again or can we do our jobs?” What resulted was a perfectly executed and coached goal line stand. From that point on the defense was on fire.

The bipolar nature of this team is frustrating but given time I do think that McDaniel’s could refine his coaching technique while the players refine their basics. Unfortunately we may have run out of time. For those not paying attention; the league has made some statements over the last week that lend credence to the belief that the Players Union and the NFL are much farther apart on their negotiations then most might assume. In fact; I doubt seriously that either side believes there won’t be a lock out in 2011. There won’t be scabs and there won’t be any concern over what our coach or players are or are not doing right next year. When the NFL returns it will be a vastly changed creature that may not be entirely recognizable.

Oh, don’t pay Champ just yet. While he can give us a hall of fame performance like he did today and I will not deny it; he is also capable of playing down to his competition which, for the amount of money we are talking about, is far to often. Today’s outcome would have been vastly different with out Bailey but teams are much more successful then they used to be when throwing at him. Especially on the long ball. I would have paid the Bailey of 2005 this money in a New York second; the problem is its 2010.

    Dominate their will to win!

I am still confused about that call where they blew it back. They said it was in the grass?!? Confused please someone educate me when I see it all the time especially from big ben.

  21. Carsonic says:

Timmah, it’s called the quarterback being “in the grasp” of whoever is sacking him. It’s a call made primarily to protect the quarterback. If the ref perceives that the defender has control of the QB with no chance of escape, he can call the play dead to prevent the QB from being slammed to the ground.

And refs won’t call things on players with reputations. Just like they initially gave Dwayne Bowe the catch, because he has a rep for being an amazing receiver, and they hold off on calling a Roethlisberger play dead because he’s shown time and time again that he can get out of “the grasp”, they called Orton’s play dead because he has the reputation (mobility-wise) of being, to quote a local Broncos blogger “a one-legged goat”.

As for the rest of the game, yes that sack hurt, but good quarterbacks rebound from stuff like that. One sack doesn’t set the tone of a game. Repeated dirt balls do. I just can’t believe, with the running game going so well, that Orton whiffed so badly the whole game. I’ve been behind him up until now, but I am officially jumping on the Tebow band wagon.

  22. killerkod says:

Wow, what a horrible display of football. The Cheifs were terrible yesterday and what were we? EVEN WORSE!

I am disgusted and fed up with this underacheiving, boring, predictable, and pathetic bunch of losers. Instead of looking forward to the next game, I’m looking forward to the Monday I wake up and read that Mr. B has cleaned house and got rid of xanders and McD. It’s time to rebuild……..

WE ARE WHO THEY THOUGHT WE WERE!

  23. baylinorcrush says:

I have a real short version of the Good, the Bad and the Ugly this week.

    The Good:

    Moreno on O
    Bailey on D

    The Bad:

    Orton on
    DJ on D

    The ugly:

    TOP, us 22:46, them 37:14
Out of the running with 4 games to play…

  24. hometeam007 says:

    Killer…well, Monday is here.

I need to get back to enjoying watching football games. Ever since I started caring about the Broncos, my Sundays have sucked…

Everyone’s post said everything I was thinking….but why did McDaniels keep calling pass plays when they weren’t working? The run was doing the job..stick with what works. And who thinks that giving KC (the NFL’s leading rush team) back the ball on 4th and short with under 3 minutes to go is a good idea? Com’mon man! Doesn’t matter, we had plenty of chances and came up short, again…….

  25. BeastFromEast92 says:

We played good enough to win,if we kept putting the ball in Moreno”s hands, but NO we had to let Orton lose another one,bad play calling, which again falls back on McD.

    FIRE MCD!!!!
    FIRE XANDERS!!!!!
    FIRE ELLIS!!!!!

  26. CarnageBronc says:

I am kinda confused….people keep saying that we shouldn’t have passed because the run was working….was I watching a different game. We had a total of 6 points correct? SIX. So the run this week, was doing the same thing the pass does every other week…get 20 to 20. The thing is..KC figured our offense out. THey know KM cannot BEAT you on the ground. So they did what I figured teams would do all sesaon, they simply ignored teh play action pass, and guarded our mediocre receivers. If you eveer watch the games, all our receivers get open when we fool the corners, they can’t get open on their own. Lloyd and Gaffney were blanketed all day. I know Orton was bad, but the WRs were NEVER open. They were way too busy planning on waving their hands in front of their faces. This team, uggggh, is all I can say. Luckily, KC was mistaken prone, that kept the game close. Well we are officially out, Bowlen cannot use that excuse any more. Wonder what is next.

  27. CarnageBronc says:

The Broncos had only one first down in the third quarter. … Moreno’s 23-yard run in the fourth quarter was Denver’s first 20-plus run by a running back this year. … Since their lopsided loss in Denver, the Chiefs are 3-0; the Broncos are 0-3.

  28. hometeam007 says:

Carnage… the PLAY ACTION PASS had been working all year. We only threw ONE yesterday that I saw. The other passes were straight drop back and chuck it.

Why in Elway’s name would you stop doing play action when we are finally running so well? Alot of things about yesterday are baffling to me right now.

  29. baylinorcrush says:

This was a game that both the pro current regime fans could find positive things to talk about and the anti current regime fans could find plenty of bad things to talk about.

Pros: This is the firts time our D all year has allowed only 10 points.

Cons: This is the first time this year our O scored only 6 points.

Pros: This is the first time ever Moreno ran over 150 yds.

Cons: This is the first time ever Orton only threw for 117 yds.

Pros: This is the very best effort put out by Bailey this year completely blanketing Bowe for no catch and having that awesome corner back blitz/sack giving them 3rd and 23.

Cons: Ever since his arrest on DUI charges when DJ forgot to turn his lights on at 2 am, the lights have been off, culminated by the tough call on him while we had stopped them on the 3rd and 23 mentioned above giving them an automatic first down.

Pros: We had as many chance at winning this game as any would ever have in a single game because the D kept us in it.

Cons: We blew as many chances as any team possibly could offensively to lose this game.

And it goes on and on, and in the end it really doesn’t matter much as this year other than on three occasions we have always found ways to have one part of the puzzle or the other missing and causing our demise in 9 out of 12 games!

It would seem obvious to me that regardless of the value of the game plan yesterday, bad teams find ways to lose and good teams find ways to win, and the pro McD regime fan will tell you here we are a hair away from being a good team and the anti McD regime fan will tell you we are miles away from being good, take your pick.

I personally stand by my beliefs that wins and losses in the case of the McD regime is not the major reason for him to be terminated, it is rather for ethical reasons such as I do not respect him as a HC, do not respect how he treats players he doesn’t know how to deal with, do not respect how he treats his coaches on the sidelines or behind closed doors, do not respect how he calls 24 year old players kids, do not respect how he calls Mr. Bowlen Pat, do not respect that he would even consider bringing over here shady characters like the video director from N-E, do not respect his total lack of people skills, do not respect his swearing, do not respect his washing players laundry in front of the press, do not respect him constantly saying he would do this or that with certain personel only to do the opposite in the end, do not respect his having a doghouse for people, do not respect him letting go of DC talent like Nolan just because he could not give up that much authority on that side of the ball, do not respect how the first thing he did when he got here was to fire one of the best long snapper all time in Mike Leach only so he could bring in one of his N-E buddy, do not respect how he went behind Cutler’s back about trying to obtain Cassell, well by now I’m sure I’m losing most of you so I will give it a rest…

But bottom line is for me this man will never represent our once proud franchise the way it needs to be represented, this young man needs to make his teeth with some other team because our franchise is just way over his head respectability wise and I would like to keep it that way.

How he prepares the team and who he plays for the last 4 games now that we are fully out of it will be a real tell tale as to what that man is really made of. Will he play for winning now to save his job and stick with all the vets to do so or will he go on a limb and try to learn what he’s got with using the now under used rookies?

Those are big man worthy decisions, chicken your way out with the vets to save face trying to win meaningless games at all cost in an attempt to keep your job or do what’s really best for the team long run finding out what you got in your rookies now while taking the risk of losing most of your remaining games hence taking the risk to lose your job.

That my friends is where he is at now and I can say I’m strangely glad we are past the mathematical part now so we can find out more about what McD is truly about, not that I haven’t made up my mind, but this will be very interesting nonetheless….

  30. CarnageBronc says:

Not going to split hairs with you, but all we did was PA Pass…all we ever do. I remember telling one of my friends who was at the house, each time we were going to run it. He was like, wooooow. Yeah, I said we are that predictable. ALL WE DO IS PA. When teams stop reacting to it, we are in trouble. Have you noticed the two HUGE hits Orton has taken the last two weeks. Play action. The set up of the play is to fool the end into thinking run, slowing him down and bringing a FB/TE acroos the formation to block Orton’s backside. Last week it was a FB, this week it was a TE, in both cases, teams have disregarded our PA, becaue we can’t hurt you running and have attacked Orton. This team is in disarray, shambles, the like and it hurts me as a fan. It hurts me because I spend money to go to at least a game a year…ACROSS COUNTRY. It hurts because I pay monthly for Satellite to see them play every game. It hurts because, I do not see an end in sight. McDaniels is not helping this team win, there is no fire. There is however a false sense of bravado. I see a 3-9 team celebrating each catch as though they are UNSTOPPABLE. As if we are setting scoring records. I see receivers who get ZERO YAC. A running back who was taken in teh top half of the draft that has 2 career 100 yard games, both against KC. I hear supporters say how good he looked in college. So did Leaf, so did Clarette and a host of others. I hear supporters say hed led rookies in rushing last year, when there were only 3 rooke RBs playing. I see us hanging hopes on Ayers. AYERS…1.5 sacks. TOTAL. Williams, DONE. Dawkins, DONE. Every linebacker out there except DJ, DONE. Let me clue you in on something, a 3-4 works when you have dynamic linebackers. We do not. THey are undersized and when blockers get to them they cannot shed them. There is a myriad of problems with this team anad they all start at the top. This is the team the coach wanted. He picked the groceries and he is making the meal. And the food is terrible. The ingredients are low quality, and dinner has been bad for 12 weeks straight in Denver

  31. baylinorcrush says:

Carnage, I don’t know if you saw the Steelers- Ravens game last night, talk about LB’s and on both teams absolutely unbelievable display!!!! An absolutely terrific 13-10 game while ours was a horrendous 10-6 game… I always said Pittsburgh and the Ravens each have a least 4 LB’s way superior to any of ours, even DJ, he is quickly starting to lose his edge, sorry to see.

  32. sndvl says:

No jinx coop. Just the McD (he)X

  33. hometeam007 says:

Carnage, Agreed and well said. I am hurt as well. A Detroit Lions fan said the other day, “well at least we have a perfect season (0-16) to show for all our misery”. Then someone piped up and said “maybe we will get a good draft pick this year”. Really, what a shame.

Besides, what have we done with our draft picks that makes anyone think we could make good use of a high pick?

Pretty sad. I wonder if lowering our expectations and then being pleasantly surprised by good football is the answer here. My guess is..No.

  34. sndvl says:

Baylin, Im glad you mentioned DJ’s penalty because it was a BS call. Its a judgement call for the refs these days. I was watching the Pit-Bal game last night and the Baltimore defender flat out decked Miller, leading with his helmet, who was defenseless and knocked him cold. No flag. Im sure he will get as hefty fine from the league, but in game…nothing. Dj led with his shoulder and got low. There is too much inconsistency.

Who saw the stat yesterday about our rushing attack? In 05 we with 5th overall in rushing offense (Went to AFC Championship game). We have declined each year since and are 30th this year.
I know they keep telling us this is a passing league. It does not surprise me that the teams who run the ball are the teams with winning records. (Tom Brady is the ONLY exception).

  35. baylinorcrush says:

BTW, carnage you are the only one with TRB left from the Bronco fans here who could be right with your season record prediction, but for TRB to be dead on with his 7-9 we would have to win out, while we need to win three out of 4 for yours to come true (6-10). Anyway I think congratualtions are already in order for you since you have always had a better pulse than most about the McD regime and you will very likely be the closest prediction.

  36. baylinorcrush says:

sndvl, agreed, bad call, but huge momentum swing, there was no bigger, specially following the Bailey sack. When you are bad, bad things happen.

  37. Yovi21 says:

Carnage, what I saw was us running like crazy on them, then all of the sudden we would throw up 3 passes in a row (all incomplete if you couldn’t guess) there is NO reason for Orton to play that poorly, he was really the key to that game and he came out with the worst performance I can remember seeing from a Broncos QB in a long time. think of it this way Moreno= 161 yards Orton= 117. We are a pass first offense and our Running back gained more than the QB, Pathetic! Great Job Moreno I really hope to see more hard running!

    TEBOW TIME!

  38. Orange_Crusher says:

“Josh needs time to make more changes to make this team better”…

What??? Tinkerbell needs more time to sprinkle the fairy dust?? I’m sorry BDR, but I completely disagree. I’ve had it up to my caranium with this coaches neophytic “changes”. All of his changes have brought regression to a once PROUDLY MEDIOCRE team…

bay, you’re going to have to quit doing “the good, the bad and the ugly” and just start doing the Bad, the Ugly and the Utterly Atrocious”…lol

Man, our recievers gotta quit doing that “invisible” thing! They were soo invisible that Orton couldn’t even see them….

  39. bronco-blaze says:

Orton single handedly cost us the game…His poor play is what killed us.

Sticking with Orton cost us the game, the season, the future trainging of TT is on hold for Ordinary Orton….

Lets let Orton and McD try again next year! I haven’t had enough of them yet……. NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know what you mean OC, you have probably noticed as the losses have piled on I find less and less motivation to the G, B and Ugly, just a short version and get out, LOL.

Yovi…………I hear ya bro and agree 100%.

  43. BeastFromEast92 says:

OC…seems like the 4 Horsemen turned into the 4 magicians..POOF!!!!!!

  44. BeastFromEast92 says:

I hope we trade Orton next year,I can’t stand the thought of watching him pathetically losing anymore games….TEBOW TIME!!!!!!!!!!!

  45. baylinorcrush says:

BTW, everyone is talking about how we got away from the run at game end, and I agree 100%, but no one has even mentioned that we didn’t start running the ball until about the middle of the second quarter!!!! It’s like McD is unable to do two things at the same time, it’s either run it for a whole quarter or pass it, but don’t you dare mix it up it would be too confusing???? But confusing is good if it’s the other team you are confusing, problem is McD seems scared of confusing our team, LOL.

  46. baylinorcrush says:

BFE, problem is as I said at the end of my long winded post: Is McD big enough of a man to play Tebow?

  47. baylinorcrush says:

Talking about the 4 horsemen, what about the Ravens with Houshmanzadeh, Boldin, Mason and Stallworth???? WOW, plus Heap at TE…

  48. baylinorcrush says:

We have fallen so far behind in the AFC West competitive wise and the AFC West is so far behind the AFC North and AFC East, it’s right down scary, and some folks still want us to stick with the status quo!?!?!?!

I’ve said all along – WE’RE NOT GOOD ENOUGH … yeah, good teams find a way to lose, and so we do … and it’s no accident that on the day Moreno hits his high, Orton hit his low … THAT’S WHAT THEY GAVE US … yeah – Orton looked terrible … but so has Peyton the last 3 weeks … when those around you suck, you often do too … take a look at the Browns, the Raiders, the Lions … they’ve been down a LONG time – after YEARS of top draft picks, the Browns and Raiders are finally starting to show improvement … it takes a LONG time, most of the time … our pantry was depleted by Shannahan, especially on defense, and it can’t be fixed over night … that, if anything, argued against bringing in a young, offensive minded HC again … so – he ignored the defense his first two drafts, and we’ll pay the price for a LONG time … most of youse guys seem to think that if we do this little thing, or that little thing (like bringing in Tebow, or getting rid of McD) we’ll quickly return to greatness … IT AIN’T GONNA HAPPEN THAT WAY … we now need to be patient, or we’re going to burst a blood vessel … and – how about them pesky Raiders – they sure exposed them Super Chargers … the Chargers are just like they were when Dan Fouts played out here – they can annihilate a weaker team, but when the going gets tough – they lose their “charge” and fizzle out … let me tell you – things are really crazy out here today …
