Did anyone know how to spell the kickers name, because I had to cheat? Nice drive at the end of the game for the win. Tough injuries and like we’ve SAID….hmmmm they keep piling up and they hurt with DJ and Bunkley out for a while. DEPTH kills when you don’t have it. But boy do I like the intensity.
Was all day at a Pee Wee (Faulkner) football tournament and our 12 year olds did well and I’m proud of our Creek Royal team. We took some lumps today as a team and it’s funny/interesting to watch players figure it out and get better. Same in Pee Wee as the Pro’s promise.
Liked the pass pro I saw with the ones and again someone made the comment that it’s only Seattle but one more with Arizona and we have RAIDER WEEK coming. Those of you that have been around know how I dislike preseason. The tempo picks up quite a bit as the regular season opens.
What’s on your minds along the lines of our defense with Doom and Milller???
Coopster

DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM…It’s a household name
Dawk at WLB … that would be awesome lol … he is good come run game and blitzes … not so much in coverage lol but I doubt it. Spencer Larsen maybe but he has FB duties. Man I can’t wait for cuts … gonna be alot of treasures to pick up come sept 3rd. Goal will be DTs, Better backup OL and possible RB (As some of you might remember, I mentioned Steve Slaton seems to be the odd man out in Houston and I would very much like him to join us, we could use the speed, and once upon a time he was a every down 1000+ yard back and is still like 25) TRB
raidrhadr, I think the DOOOOM chant is perfect, not original, but perfect, and beats the heck out of the in-com-plete one.
Whats up broncos fans!! Bright future ahead for our broncos now that the worst coach in the history of football is gone! #lovin john fox
baylin i think broncos stadium could get a mean dooooom and gloooom chant for miller and dumervil. chants should come pretty consistent seeing the ways these guys r playing!
Courtesy of the Denver Post
When the critics line up to assail Kyle Orton, there is one familiar refrain: He can’t score!
Well, hear this: The Broncos’ starting offense has scored plenty through three preseason games as it works to rectify one of the biggest offensive deficiencies in recent years.
Orton has led the first-team offense to 34 points — nearly half of the Broncos’ preseason total — in about five quarters of work in the three games.
“We’ve got a very good offense, and like I told those guys, there aren’t going to be too many teams that can slow us down for four quarters,” Orton said.
Thanks for acknowledging that Bay. We’ve never really had anything like that in the stadium and the incomplete thing is old and stupid.
sirobertvondoom: Welcome. Your timing and screen name are perfect. DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM. Bring it to mile high and tell a friend.
I live in Boise, no games this year but hopefully next yr! Excited to join the blog and talk football this year with broncosnation!!!
Broncos Country, nation is a raider thing.
Right bay. even the words excellence and commitment should never come out of a Bronco fans mouth unless you’re in the military and talking about your performance there. ’nuff said
oh ok, Denver Bronco country Boise State Bronco nation. Clady is my boy, bronco through and through! Anchoring a strong line this yr. Clady vs doom and big boy orlando vs von everyday in practice should translate nice to games!
excellence and commitment?
Welcome home Cody, thanks again for your service. I’m with you this year, I have a hunch we’re going to be on the other end of some close games, and the blow out’s are a thing of the past with us on the losing side. I also sympathize with you on the raider fans, but not in the desert. I have a couple next store in our business complex. Very tough to deal with when we are taking a shillaking (sp?). I’ll be at opening day, and would be extactic to see it the otherway around this year.
Bay, I’m raised a Bronco Orange and Blue through too, so I’m also stepping way out in saying 11-5, AFC West Champs, worst to first.
That’s why we hold this guessing game, to get the feel for Bronco Country and unbelievably enough the 11-5 have already taken the lead!!!
There is going to be either a lot of happy folks at season end or very disappointed ones, LOL.
I like DOOM #92 & GLOOM #58 for our PASS RUSHING DUO!!! They looked outstanding the last two games and I fully believe Miller will get better and better (even though he is out of place at times in the PRESEASON). AND Elivs DOOM looks like he is primed for the best year of his life!!!
GO DOOM & GLOOM = GO BRONCOS
PLUS – and I’m just saying you will all be shocked at how much this effective pass rush help ou the DB’s and makes there job easier and funner!!! I EXPECT a lot of take aways and INT’s this year by our D!!!
GO BRONCOS
Welcome home Cody. I am constantly grateful of how fortunate I am to have survived just four short months in Iraq with no tragedy. There were so many more brave men and women who went outside of the wire everyday to ensure that those like myself came home safely.
sirobertvondoom,
I’m originally from Southern Idaho too! Love the BRONCOS both Denver and Boise State!!! I’m hopeful for big things from both team. I hope BSU can find some decent Reiciever to replace the outstanding ones they lost in this years draft and I hope they can do the near impossible and win EVERY game in 2011.
I’m also hopeful of VAST improvement from the DENVER BRONCOS and I think John Fox has them looking really GOOD and showing improvement where improvement was most needed!!! Although I’m still not sure what they are going to do at the DT??? They get decent players but they keep getting hurt! That is our one weekness as I see it and I’m still concerned about stopping the run!!!
Our O looks like they have improve and gotten healthy and I like the running game and our depth at WR!!!
Go BRONCO COUNTRY!!!
My prediction for a sucessful year is as follows:
I wanted to say 10-6 and squeeking into the playoffs, but our schedule is one of the most difficult I’ve seen in years. Just the way it lined up for us and the divisions we play this season!
I still think we will improve greatly and maybe be at: 9-7 at years end!!! I worry most about the RUNNING teams we will face and the AFC West is all about RUNNING and all of our rivals have really good backs – let’s just hope they don’t use them too much!!! LMAO
I’m just saying we are set up to shut down the pass, but I’ve seem some big runs against us in the preseason – that worries me.
HOWEVER, it’s a passing leage these days and we are set up really well to deal with that!!!
Bay,
Official prediction. 7-9
I see big improvements next year with a true off season and a year under EFX.
true2broncos
I agree, I see Denver going 9-7. Very improved team with a very tough schedule.
Boise St will b ok! with kellen running show recievers dont have to make tough catches. Look for Geraldo Bouldjewan who i went to high school with to have a big yr! Would love to see more bsu broncos come to denver in the future!
Ahhhhhhh, that’s much better!
So nice to see how the D is playing fast and loose. Almost every pass play looked like a race to see who could hit the QB first! I’m also loving how our back end looks with Champ at the nickel. Nowadays, teams make a living by hitting guys out of the slot on 3rd down. Champ is smart, fast and knows how to play his leverage better than the younger guys so he won’t get caught up in traffic as much. Kudos to coach Fox and D.A. for figuring out how to get the most out of our personnel.
On offense, 34 runs for a 4.4 avg. – not outstanding, but you can win a lot of games with those numbers. Had some ragged moments, but overall progressing nicely. I’m sure they’re not showing a whole lot right now, either.
I’m pretty confident with a 8-8 season. We if we can split our division we have 5 games that we can and should win with our upgrades. Assuming we lose 1 of those games to a team we should manhandle this year (like Tennesse or Miami), we’ll get angry and take a few straight. I think we can push Chicago, Minnesota and the Jets and maybe squeak out a win or two; we should have had the Jets last year except for that hail mary pass interference at the goal line with about a minute left- I think it was on Nate Jones too! I don’t see us having any chance against Green or New England this year; despite our past success against the Pats.
My prediction is 8-8, a split.
BFE, glad your feeling better dude!!
Cody, welcome home! Thanks for serving our country! God Bless You!!!!
My prediction was probably pessimistic, but with the tough schedule and us wearing thin on the D-line I think we could lose some games because of it.
Don`t be surprised if we go and claim a DT off waivers come September 4th the day after final cuts. There just might be some prime players that just didn`t make the final roster due to salary monies and teams wanting youth.
7-9 final answer bay……
Orton 2-6
Quinn 1-2
Tebow 4-1
I believe we will give Tebow a full year of tutelage under John Elway and then next year when McCoy is fired and Studesville is promoted to OC, we will get 10+ wins and be perennial playoff contenders for years to come…….
ILMSDB!
WOW, McCoy on the hot seat! That would be one less McD left over….
Possible positions we could fill in by claiming players off the waiver wire September 3. These positions are DT,RB,OL,CB, and LB. Mostly as backup. We`ll probably get only have of these positions filled. But we need a DT badly as backup as well as O-line, those two are critical for depth.
Guys,
Mike McCoy worked for Fox for 7 years in Carolina before we hired him. He’s not going anywhere…
sirobertvondoom,
BSU should will most of their games this year, but I would worry about our gymn rat running back getting hurt #22 (We need a huge year froom him) and I am worried about some key losses on D-fense from last year too.
I know Kellen Moore is SOLID and as SMART as any QB in College football and I like to think he will have a GREAT senior campagne! The biggest think that worries me as usual is that they have to win EVERY SINGLE GAME to have any hopes at a BCS bid = and let’s face it that is always going to be tough in any division (even the WAC or Mountain West)!
GO BRONCOS = DENVER & BSU
“perennial”, I love the sound of that word, we used to be that, good year after year, but a looong time ago, and now for the last few years we’ve bloomed early in the season, like going 6-0 and pouff, just like an annual we die whenever the season goes into the Winter, haha, that was pretty cool.
Agreed kearly, OC just loves to be provocative and he does a heck of a job at it, LOL.
well i put my prediction of 7-9 last night bay.. but just in case u missed it 7-9 …
and btw i just read the good news Nate Jones cut!!
Bay, just for kicks I almost went 8-7-1. But I thought, nah better not. That would be taking a chance, HaHa!!
Yeah, but I like the idea because with 8-7-1 you would almost be right two ways if we are either 9-7 or 8-8. Never completely correct but doubling your chances of looking smart, LOL.
It crossed my mind though.
Got you down now Randy, but not from last night. Get used to it if you want to do the weekly score guessing contest starting Monday the 5th, the most fun of all our contests to me, dates are set every week to make your entry and you just can’t miss them.
Thanks, bay – I kinda figured that one for a fantasy, but….
…speaking of fantasies, here’s my prediction:
10-6
Broncos will lose 3 of the 4 early (as in, 11 a.m. kickoff) games because we always generally don’t show up for them (had to make the Bills an exception because they’re just BAD). Probable losses to the Packers, Patriots and Vikings. If we manage to steal one of those, we’ll probably lose @ San Diego.
Kind of bummed to see that they cut Veikune…he was a hell of a special teams player, at least he was last year! Good luck to him and the rest of the cuts!!
GLAD NATE JONES IS GONE!!!!
Still think we need to sign at least one good CB and one good DT!!!
Kearly…
I think if we lose to Minnesota this year then we’ll only have about 4-5 wins!! I believe Minnesota is a definite win for our team!!! They cannot even be put in the same category as the Packers, Patriots, and Chargers!!! What you thinking man??
Bronctario…
That pass interference penalty that you are talking about was on Renaldo Hill and I believe it was a face mask penalty but we should have won that game!! Minnesota should be one of those gimme games I believe!! McNabb is too old and washed up! He showed that the whole season last year!! If Shanny is going to go with Rex Grossman over McNabb then that should say it all!! Plus the Vikes lost Sydney Rice!! They’ll take the Lions spot this year at the bottom of their division!
bf30 – couldn’t agree more on Nate Jones. He hasn’t done anything good that I can remember since he got here (thanks again, McD).
btw – I gave the Vikes a win because:
1) we usually suck on turf/in domes
2) they’ve got a darn good running game, which I think is probably our biggest weakness on D
3) We usually suck on turf/in domes
Did I mention that we suck on turf?
freak i said the same thing about viekune.
Ha, OC never fails for a laugh lol … always got some wirlwind post but I also agree that McCoy will not be going anywhere not unless he gets a higher job offer, cuz fox won’t fire him, and I doubt he will leave our time just for a lateral move, so nothing less than a higher position for him, and if he leaves I personall would love Rick Dennison back around these parts in some way shape or form. It just kills me to see the Texans owning in our system. Just me tho. TRB
Wow people on DP totally calling for Cox head next. I can’t blame em because of what he did (or should i say allegedly did even tho I think he is guilty). Anyway, its a mighty fall from starting CB to back up to a guy that didn’t play a single snap let alone starting snap at CB (Vaughn). Team has already made him a pariah, and now we know why teams passed on him till the 5th round. Clearly his troubles in college was curfew than anything this serious but … baby steps … it coulda been a 1 time rape slip up, who knows, maybe he was drunk and wasn’t in his right mind, but I doubt it, cuz the full lied all the way to the bank … until she took him to Maury and he was like … in the case of baby _____, Perrish Cox …….. ….. …. … You ARE the father. lol
ps: if theres a DOOOOM chant … I also want a “na na na na na na na na na BATMAN …. and robin” lmao
TRB
I’m not surprised about the people who think Cox should go — I’ve been thinking the same thing. The guy has been late to the play the whole preseason — against 2nd- & 3rd-stringers, no less. Vaughn’s been jumping routes, defending passes and generally flying around. Not sure if Cox is messed up because of the legal stuff or if the legal stuff is just another symptom of the bigger problem, but right now he’s got nothing to offer that’s going to help the team (definitely not punt returning – yuck!).
My biggest worry teams on our up coming schedule are: Green Bay because they are such a complete team, New England, and Detroit. You might be saying “Detroit”??? But I assure you they are for REAL assuming Calvin Johson stays healthy!!!
GO BRONCOS!!!
